Could not connect to TSAutoMgr.exe and error 17501

Hi,
I'm running TS3.5 on Win 2000 system.
I'm experiencing the above error (also see attached screen shots in pdf file).
The error message is talking about DCOM configuration.
I verified that I have the TSAutomgr.exe file.
I execute the utility dcomcnfg.exe but I can't find the TSAutomgr.exe there....
where exactly TSAutoMgr.exe should be listed?
What does it mean if it's not there?
And advice what to do next?
Thanks
Rafi

Hi Rafi2003,
This error occurs when the TestStand CVI adapter
fails to connect to the TestStand AutoMgr COM server.  Usually this is caused by a problem with the DCOM permissions associated with this
server. I would follow the steps in this document first.  This should take care if it for you.  If not, I would look under the security tab of the NI TestStand AutoMgr Properties box. Here I would like you to verify that you have Local Launch, Local
Activation and Local Access permissions. If the Use Default radio
button is checked, then you'll need to verify that the default
permissions for the computer are set appropriately. Finally, even if
permissions are granted specifically by the server settings, you still
need to verify that the computer doesn't set limits on applications
that set their own permissions. You can edit the computer-wide defaults
and limits on the COM Security page of the Properties dialog of My
Computer in the Component Services tool.

Anyone getting this error? iTunes could not connect to iPhone because unknown error occurred (0XE8000001)

I've had the same issue for a week now. Just tried to sync on my home iMac (week long problem at work on MacBook Pro, but trying a clean install at home didn't change things).

  • During iTunes restore: Could not connect to lockdown port. Error code 0xe8000065

I have been seeing the same error on multiple Windows 7 iTunes installations since the recent iOS 8.3 (and iTunes 12.1.2 update). During an attempt to restore a backup, the iPhone disconnected error appears in iTunes. Digging deeper into the logs, we see a USB connection error, and then a DLL loading error message (that may or may not be a red herring.)
Here is an anonymized log snippet:

reset settings on the target iPhone
swapping out for a different usb cable
swapping out for a different usb port on the computer
renaming the iPhone (as another thread from a few years ago suggests)
I'm very hesitant to try a factory restore via iTunes if the device is reporting USB connection severing, since we may end up with a bigger issue, like half-installed iOS
Has anyone seen this error lately as well? I'd love to find some more possible solutions to try.

I did also just notice the excess backslash in this path. I'll do some experimenting to see if that makes any difference referencing a file in Windows 7 (OSX is usually very forgiving of that in my experience, so it could be nothing.)

  • ITunes could not connect to the iTunes Store "Error Message"

I recently added iTunes 7.6 to my Windows XP operating system at the same time when I added an *Ion USB Turntable (TTUSB).* I currently have the 80G iPod with the larger video screen. I added in the supplied software of the EZ Vinyl Converter. The software reads from Gracenote and imports into iTunes okay. But now my PC cannot access the iTunes store to buy songs, read the tracks on the discs, or display new album artwork. The diagnostic read the network connectivety test, the CD/DVD drive, and iPod connectivity tests all read okay. I followed the directions on checking the network settings under the Internet Options Tool "Connections" Lan Settings and the Automatic detection and still no dice. All I get is "Make sure your network is active."

I'm seeing this error on some, but not all, of my Windows XP machines. On my personal development XP box, I see this error if iTunes is closed when I try and access iTunes U via my transfer script or Stanford's.
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was terminated unexpectedly. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
The errors occured in IE 7 Beta, Firefox 1.5.x, and Firefox 2 Beta. In each case, iTunes U loaded after I clicked the 'ok' button in iTunes. I did notice that in Firefox's case an additional pop-up window appeared that asked whether or not I had iTunes; when I selected that I do have itunes, it transfered me to iTunes but generated the error.
After getting these errors on my Windows XP machine, I tried it on two different lab machines running Windows XP, and didn't get the error message once -- I tried it in IE 6, Firefox 1.0.x and Firefox 1.5.x and they all worked. It even worked with IE 7 Beta and Vista Beta.
Based on this, I think the problem must lie in how Windows registered iTunes, and the handshake just isn't happening properly.

  • "iTunes could not connect to the Music Store" Error Message

    Hello all,
I finally got my script running correctly and I can see the front page of my iTunesU site(Yay!). But I am getting an irritating error message, and what is unusual are the circumstances under which I see the error message and the circumstances under which I do NOT see the error message. Allow me to elaborate.
    Scenario #1
I have iTunes open on my computer. I go to the login page I created on my school's website and login. I watch as the "Music Store" page on iTunes gives way to the front page of my iTunesU site. Perfection! This is the behavior I want!
    Scenario #2
I DO NOT have iTunes open on my computer. I go to the login page I created on my school's website and login. I watch as iTunes begins to open and then spits out this error message:
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. An unknown error occurred. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
There is also an error number attached to the error message but it changes from time to time with no explanation. Here is the strange part. If I just hit "OK" on the error message my iTunesU site opens fine.
I've tried this on my home and work computers and a friend's computer and the behavior is the same. Moreover I surfed over to the Stanford iTunesU login page: http://itunes.stanford.edu/ and I get the same behavior(which pretty much rules out in my mind that it is a problem with my script).
I guess it isn't a huge deal. Worse comes to worse we can tell the students and faculty, if you see an error message from iTunes just hit "OK". But I'm rolling out this slick new iTunesU site and this error message is like a scratch in the paint job. Plus my boss is looking over my shoulder like "what's that error?" and it is starting to detract from the computer whiz kid image I've worked so hard to cultivate
    My possible suspects are:
iTunes - (Went over to the iTunes discussion board and a lot of people report similar error messages when trying to get into the Music Store but I couldn't find anyone who said hitting "OK" made it possible to proceed)
My script -(seems unlikely since Stanford has the same problem)
The configuration on the computers I've tested it on - (But I've tested it on three different computers!)
iTunesU - If this is the problem I'm hoping you people can help me.
So has anyone else experienced this?
Try to login into your iTunesU page with and without iTunes already open. See any error messages or weird behavior?
Try the same thing on Stanford's site: http://itunes.stanford.edu/
If you can repeat my result then post it here so Apple will know this is an issue. If you can't repeat my result then post it here so that I might know I need to look elsewhere for the problem.
Thank you for your kind attention.

  • "Could not connect to this SMTP server" error box.

I suspect this is common, but what do I do? I get an error box when I attempt to send outgoing mail from Mail. Connection Doctor tells me under smtp.mac.com:budsteetle "Could not connect to this SMTP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences." I have made not changes in my account, so this appears to be an Apple problem. I can send mail OK through MobileMe on my old .Mac account. Ideas? Usually, the Outbox empties eventually, so far it has been 1/2 a day.

  • Could not remove files FlashUtil9c.exe and Flash9c.ocx

    Hello everybody!
I have a problem. I found that NTFS permissions don't allow
    me to remove files
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil9c.exe and
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9c.ocx while I still having
administrator status under my WinXP SP2 Prof. Of course, I was
frighten and though that it is a virus. I removed these files
manually and found, that my Flash Player doesn't work. I downloaded
it again and installed. Now I see that these files are again at
their place and have the same permissions. Is it a virus or just a
bug? Or is it so necessary for Flash Player to keep these files
    locked?
Please, don't answer so that is a special uninstall util for
    FP - I know that. Isn't it a virus, that's a question.

Check this out... Follow the instructions as I did from
Darren McNally - Adobe ... No more nagging Flash9c.ocx ... It
    works...

  • I cannot use my iPad. The screen is black with only the circulating dowmnloading symbol showing and I cannot switch it off to re-boot. If I try to connect to iTunes it says it could not connect because o an unknown error 0xE80000065, but I can't turn it

    I cannot use my iPad.
It presents a black blank screen with just the circulating symbol in the middle.
I cannot turn if off or on to re-boot it as the on-off swith does not respond, neither does the press button on the bottom edge of the pad.
I have tried to connect it to iTunes but my computer (running Windows Vista) shows an error message 0xE8ooooo65.
Previous to this complete shut-down I had successfully connected to iTunes and tried to download the new 4.3.3 (?) Update.
This showed it would take four hours ! So it was left to do just that.
However it then went back after thfour hours it said it was backing up my files, but then shutdown.
    Can anyone help?

  • Error "could not connect....0xE8000001  UGH!

    Hey gang. Please help.
Advanced user here, been reading posts and all Mac Docs for a week straight now. Here is my specific issue
I can reinstall iTunes and connect to iPod touch just fine. I can unplug ipod a few times, reconnect and iTunes still recognizes it.
As soon as I eject for the 3rd or 4th time OR restart iTunes, I get the message that it could not connect because of an unkown error 0xE8000001.
Then I have to reinstall itunes again. it works for 3 or 4 cycles, then bam, same error comes back.
So I can fix the error and connect, but how can I get rid of it for good? I have done every suggestion and proceedure from Apple written on this site:
    1. reinstall itunes
    2. restart apple device service
    3. clean up install files
    4. repair registry
    5. delete temp files folder
    6. tried every mother board USB 2.0 ports
    7. disabled all "start up services" with msconfig
    8. Restored ipod twice
    9. plus all other printed help here discussed over the past 4 months.
Nothing works ALL the time. I can just get it to resync 3 times then it comes back????
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Since upgrading to the latest version of iTunes, when I have wifi switched off, I get the "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store" error when I start up and shut down iTunes.  Previously, I used to only get the error when I would try to access the store from iTunes and I wasn't connected.  Now, when I start up iTunes, and I'm just trying to play music or watch a video, I get this.  It's very annoying!
Any help would be very appreciated!

Same problem here. It was ok before update.
Hopefully someone has a solution to this.
I'm running 10.6.8 so it's on snow leopard as well as lion.

  • Could not connect to AIM possible workaround

I've been getting the "could not connect to AIM server busy" error message and had tried all the fixes I can find on here, trashing preferences, changing ports, connection speeds and nothing worked
After hours of messing about I have found a way I can now log in which anyone experiencing this error might want to try.
Go to your Buddy List and use the "disconnected" drop down box, select "edit status menu" , i deleted all the unneeded custom status messages and unchecked "remember custom messages.
I then went back to the Buddy List>disconnected drop down and selected "custom" which opens a small dialogue box, don't type anything in but whilst that is open go back to the Finder, ichat menu and drop down to "log into AIM" or command L that got me logged in for the first time in days!!. It doesn't work every time, I occasionally have to go to buddy List>edit status menu leave that open then >Finder >Ichat menu > log into AIM ( or command L) and that works.
Very very frustrating but at least I can get back on line.

I've only ever used ichat , fast user switching is enabled with set my status to office on switch, when I quit ichat and restart my status is "disconnected" and as soon as I restart I get the error message immediately it tries to log me in.
I use ichat infrequently ( only when I am working abroad) and never had the problem last time I used it in March, I've always kept the OS up to date so assume its caused by one of the updates since then. After 4 days use I'm now occasionally being able to get logged back in without going through the status change procedure ( not possible when I first started using it) but still cannot guarantee a log in using the method I described sometimes I have to do 3 or 4 status change drop down/log ins before it connects.
I'm connected via hotel internet connection so don't know what the router settings are.
