Could not connect with Oracle 9iAs Portal

I have already install oracle9iAs ,but when I try to connect to
oracle 9i AS portal , the server return these messages to me :
Proxy log On failed.
Please verify that you have specified correct connectivity
information i.e.username, password & connect-string in the
Database Access Descriptor
Error-Code:6401
Error TimeStamp:Thu, 18 Oct 2001 08:22:24 GMT
Database Log In Failed
TNS is unable to connect to destination. Invalid TNS address
supplied or destination is not listening. This error can also
occur because of underlying network transport problems.
Verify that the TNS name in the connectstring entry of the DAD
for this URL is valid and the database listener is running. "
How could I do ???

I am using OBIEE 11g and 11g admin client tool is installed in my machine. I created one rpd and I deploy that rpd in the server through Enterprise manager fusion middleware control. But when try to run the analysis from BI answers it throws and error like
"TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified at OCI call OCIServerAttach. [nQSError: 17014] Could not connect to Oracle database. (HY000)".
In the rpd I use OCI default (10g/11g) and cheked that connection is successful and also when I click on view data option in the physical layer I am able to see the data. I cheked with DBAs and correct TNS entries are also there in the server. Could not understand where is the problem.

[nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 12154, message: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified at OCI call OCIServerAttach. [nQSError: 17014] Could not connect to Oracle database. (HY000)
I have oracle 10g R2, I can connect my database using SQLPLUS. I am not able to do Update Row Count from Admin tool also. If anyone come across this issue, please share your experience. Anyhelp would be appreciated.

The problem is OBIEE server not able to read the tnsnames.ora file. That depends upon the what you set as ORACLE_HOME. that can be find with tnsping command at command line. Follow this article about setting up oracle home and oci drivers

please make sure that your DB-home is the first entry in your PATH environment variable.
Have you created TNS_ADMIN environment variable. Create a environment variable TNS_ADMIN which maps to location where tnsnames.ora file located.

The MOF Compiler could not connect with the WMI server

I am trying to add node2 to SQL cluster (2008) However, I kept running into errors with the following error message:
"The MOF Compiler could not connect with the WMI Server. This is either because of a semantic error such as an incompatibility with the existing WMI repository or an actual error such as the failure of the WMI Server to start".
I checked on the WMI services, they are started and running.renamed the WMI repository. but nothing worked .
Any idea what settings I need to change in order to ensure a successful instalation and add node 2 to sql cluster.

Did SQL Server failed during installation and you somehow brought services online. Or it failed and next time you executed it succeeded IMO this error pops up because of remnants of failed installation on Node 1. With cluster specially if Installation on
node 1 fails you should uninstall completely and remove all files related to SQL Server and then proceed.

MS SQL Server 2008 not getting installed properly - MOF compiler could not connect with the WMI server

I am trying to install SQL Server 2008 in my local machine. However, I kept running into errors with the following error message:

Possibly the issue was caused by uninstalling from add-remove programs - at any rate, using aaron bertrand's suggestion below fixed the issue. Also of note - I used the local admin for the install.

I think you forgot grant OLAP_USER, D4OPUB role to younis
Make sure D4OSYS user is created. D4OSYS is the owner when the Discoverer OLAP catalog is created.
Make sure the OLAPSYS user and OLAP_USER/OLAP_DBA role is created in order to grant D4OPUB. You might need to run $ORACLE_HOME\olap\admin\olap.sql to create those accounts eventhough you have OLAP option installed.
I found directly install latest Oracle database patchset (10.1.0.4) and then create database doesn't have those accounts automatically, unless you are upgrade from 10.1.0.3.

Once you installed the Forms and Reports, you need to configure the paramters like tnsnames.ora in you path.
There will be one folder in the Installation path of Forms and Reports search for tnsnames.ora file..and you need to Updated the file as per the which ORACLE Server you are connecting and then try.. it..
Default path for forms will be "ORACLE_HOME/net80/admin".. search for tnsnames.ora and modify it..

Hi All. I set up a Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 on a Win XP Pro machine (say Machine A). When I tried to connect to the database using SQL*Plus from another machine (say Machine B) its throwing error...
ORA-12170: TNS: Connect timeout occurred
When I tried to telnet by IP...its saying
Connecting To xx.xx.xx.xx...Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connect failed
But its pinging successfully to this IP.
I have added a TNS entry to the Machine B tns.ora.
Please let me know what to do next?
I'm able to connect to database form Machine A through SQL*Plus.

ORA-03114 not connected with Oracle when I execute Query

I have a Problem with Oracle 9 but I don't know what wrong.
When I execute this query I get an error everytime:

It's not the complete select but the point is I use
"left outer join leikat l on pl.lsnr = l.lsnr"
( not the (+) - Opoerator) and a "not in" -Clausel.
Without the "not in" -Clausel the select runs fine.

i need the "left outer join" couse the Application runs on Oracle
and Interbase with same Selections. Other Selections with "left outer Join"

Could not connect with nokia pc suite

I have one nokia 2690 and in its connectivity option is given nokia pc suite. I installed nokia pc suite 7.1 on pc. But when i tried to connect my phone with usb cable a message from the bottom right corner of the taskbar of pc pops up and says "usb device not recognised" and also "click this balloon to fix this problem". When I clicked on the balloon it opened a window in the first tab of which my usb posts were listed- one was showing HID COMPLIANT MOUSE and the other in which i had connected the phone was showing UNKNOWN DEVICE. The other tab was of DRIVER and it shows No drivers are installed for this device. But I know that windows and nokia pc suite automatically install required drivers. I disconnected cable from my phone and also switched the usb ports but again the same message appeared. I also uninstalled each and everything that nokia pc suite installed on my pc and also the nokia pc suite itself and again reinstalled pc suite but of no help.What would you suggest- is my cable not compatible with my phone(i borrowed it from my friend but it connect to my phone perfectly) or the cable is damaged or nokia pc suite version 7.1 not compatible with nokia 2690 or anything else? Can Not Connect with Oracle.

OK I can connect and add a new data source when I am in the Creator IDE. When I run the application in gives me the error below. What I have found is the system does not create the JDBC resource and the JDBC Connection pool on the Application Server. Is there a way I need to push this down? I have not had to do this whenm I made test apps in PointBase, do I need to do it when I am using Oracle connection.

No. You need not have to do this. Creator should automatically do this for you.
BTW, are you using the DataDirect JDBC jar files that comes bundle with Creator?
The following exception tells me, this could be becuase the JDBC driver your using is not JDBC 3.0 compliant. The error occurs when a "PreparedStatement" is created and the driver is returning null at that point.
