Could not create ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync

On my MacBook Pro, I'm using Chrome as my web browser, and I wanted to try Adobe Photoshop CC with a free trail, but first I have to I download Creative Cloud. And I did, successfully, but when I go to install a free trail of Photoshop CC, I cannot and this comes up...
So I did as it says and uninstalled Creative Cloud and re-downloaded it, and I still get the same message and this message too...
So I Google searched this message and a solution for it, and I found some forums on the Adobe discussion/question page, and found that the solution was to:
I did this process, and everything was going smooth, except for I have no "CoreSync" folder...the only folders that come up after I search in my Finder "Library/Application Support/Adobe" are Lightroom and OOBEE.
NOTE: I'm not sure that OOBEE is the exact name, I tried following other forum steps and one of them was to change the name to "OOBEE.OLD", but this didn't work so I just changed it back to what I think is the original name.
Could I please have some help...I've been at this for along time and it's really ticking me off...all I want to do is download the free trail of Photoshop CC. I would really appreciate some help.
Thanks,
Nick

I had exactly the same issue which is preventing Adobe Creative Cloud to download. The message "could not create..." is appearing and in the Apps area in Creative Cloud is written "Download Error" and I should reinstall it. I tried it several times with no success. Also the permissions for the folders are allright (created root and checked permissions like described in above link).
I now found this
install error on Mac "could not create ~/library/application support/adobe/coresync"
After creating another admin user I could install it with that one. Hope this helps.

  • Install error on Mac "could not create ~/library/application support/adobe/coresync"

Any reason why this would be happening and what I should do?

I'm getting this same error after trying to install on my mac pro.
I see that the cloud installer was able to create the ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder and a bunch of folders in side that, but it complains
about not being able to create the CoreSync folder.
I ran into this, then uninstalled everything, and nuked the ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder completely and started over.
The installed created the Adobe folder and "AAMUpdaterInventory", "AdobeApplicationManager", "Extension Manager CC", OOBE, SLCache, SLStore, Vulcan
folders just fine.  but it can't create the CoreSync folder in the same location.
    I'm stuck.

I have installed Adobe Lightroom CC.  In the process of launching, a popup appears, that says:  "AN INTERNAL ERROR HAS OCCURRED.  Cannot create the required folder:  /Users/(my user name)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop Presets."  So even though Lightroom CC is installed, it will not launch.  What do I need to do to allow it to launch?

The problem was solved today.  Here's the full story.  I'm a Mac user.  At first I installed Lightroom CC on my iMac (desktop).  I had this problem so I called Adobe, and was referred to a "special unit" .  After about an hour the tech solved it for me ... we did a screen sharing and she took control of my computer for a loooong time.  Because of language difficulties, at first I wondered if she knew what she was doing but she eventually solved it.  Although she couldn't explain exactly what she was doing, she summarized it by saying "it was a permissions problem."  I asked if I would have the same issue later when I installed it on my laptop (Macbook Air).  She said probably not.
But I did.  The same internal error popup arose on launch and launch did not complete on my laptop.  I tried chat but no joy so I eventually called Apple Care.  I had noticed that on my laptop (and the iMac for that matter), that there was no Library folder after my user name.  The Apple tech explained that the Library folder is actually there but it is hidden because it's very easy for users to do some very nasty things to their computer by going astray while in the Library folder.  The folder is actually there, but they hide it.  I did remember seeing that the tech helping me with my iMac had typed the work "Library" while she was controlling my computer.  Basically she had activated the hidden Library folder so she could open the path that Lightroom was trying to follow to create that "Develop Presets" folder.  For some reason, the inability to create that folder in the launch process was preventing launch from being completed.  The Apple tech said she didn't actually have to do that and activated the Library folder by use of the Go selection on the menu bar.  Anyway, once that complete path was replicated and opened, the next step was to go to the Lightroom Permissions field and add my user name to the user categories already there and enable "read and write" permissions to my user name.  Once done, I shut down my laptop, and then rebooted.  I launched Lightroom and then boom, voila, heavens to betsy, etc. it launched and suddenly a dismal weekend turned into a great one.
I am not a geek, so I hope this makes some sense.  I also hope Lightroom launches again tomorrow and beyond!

    Help.

Lion does not support PowerPC Applications (Photoshop Elements 4, Quicken, etc.), that ran in Rosetta on the previous Intel OS X's.
Lion and the Rosetta dead-end | Operating Systems | Mac 911 | Macworld
So you will need to either update those Applications, stay with Snow Leopard or create a dual boot system.

  • Trying to install AOM in Bridge CC but can't find the "Mac OS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC Extensions" folder - where is it? Thank you!

After updating to 10.9.2 the Finder changed and I feel something is hiding - for example, I no longer seem to be able to "GET INFO" about my hardrive... only my drive and "my documents" etc... maybe this has something to do with not being able to find this folder:  Mac OS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC Extensions

Jeff... Yes. I meant to mark this solved - found another thread recommending using FINDER-GO TO- and /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC Extensions.
    It worked easy.
That little bit of info would be a great addition to that install AOM instructions.
    Thank you for asking!

  • Unable to install Applications/Support/Adobe/CoreSync. Any advice would be great!

I tried to install Creative cloud on Mac OS X  and keep getting a message that it was unable to install Applications/Support/Adobe/CoreSync. Any advice would be great! Plus there isn't an error code.

'''I think I solved it myself yesterday, indirectly''' by deleting a Googleupdater.exe file dated 042511. It has been over 24 hours now and no sign of the 'Just-In-Time Debugger' pop-up. Whew...it was incessant.
Not sure how I got the Googleupdater.exe file on my computer. I did download Microsoft Security Essentials to help find the JIT problem, but it failed to install properly and run. The next day I remembered it probably only runs on Internet Explorer (which we deleted in 2009) after testing out Firefox. I then also deleted Security Essentials.
I also downloaded on April 25th the free version of MS Visual Basics because I read on eHow that you can adjust settings in the 'TOOL' menu to stop JIT Debugging pop-ups. However, the free version was 'MS Visual Studio Basic 2008 Express Edition - SP1' which did NOT provide access to JIT Debugging settings (so it was not a solution).
I must say I switched Internet Security programs to AVAST! on TU | Apr26th and love it so far. Highly recommend looking into AVAST! ver 6.0 at CNET downloads - free. The anti-virus program is free, but everything else costs about $30US for a year. WORTH IT Love the options | settings | flexibility|user friendly windows.
Trend Micro was then deleted. It had always blocked usage of our internal CD|DVD drive. To use the CD|DVD drive we had to shut off Trend Micro and then turn it back on again after we finished using the CD|DVD drive. NOT a preference - for sure. Jaykay

  • Where is the library with Library/Application Support/Adobe?

PhotoShop Preferences / Additional Plug-Ins gives this path: Mcintosh HD: Library: Application Support: Adobe: Plug-Ins: CS6: File Formats.
But I can't access this library in any of the ways suggested: neither Option-clicking on Go nor ~/Library take me to that library.
    Where is it?

You want the global /Library folder, not the user ~/Library folder. Leave out the ~
