Could not edit in Photoshop.

Hi,
Could someone please assist?
I am using Encore DVD 2.0 and Photoshop CS2 which I have been using for the last 18 months or so without any problems. I am now working on a project but when I try to edit the menu in Photoshop from Adobe Encore DVD (Edit Menu > Edit Menu in Photoshop)I get the following message:
"Could not edit in Photoshop. Photoshop does not appear to be installed"
I have reinstalled Encore DVD with the hope that it might pick up its connection with Photoshop but it did not work. The only thing I have changed since the last time I used Encore successfully was to take my Matrox RTX10 card out of its PCI slot to try it out in another pc, but have since put it back. I am reluctant to reinstall Photoshop at this stage as it would mean I would have to take all the plug-ins and reinstall Encore DVD once more, as there is a sequence on how to install the Above programmes when using with the Matrox RTX card to avoid issues.
My question is does anyone know if there is a folder or file in the Encore DVD programme from where I can point the programme to Photoshop? or some other way.
Would appreciate help from someone who might have had the same experience.

You're a legend. That worked. In fact i had already come across this fix but I had associated the 'Menu" file from Encore to photoshop which of course did not work. Probably because it was associated with something else. After reading your response I realised that I should have associated a .psd file instead which worked beautifully. First I would check to see what software my system was using to automatically open .psd files. Sometimes when you install other programs they claim the right to open these files. Close down all open software. Go to Windows Explorer, find a .psd file, right click on it and choose properties, under type of file choose Change and then choose Photoshop to open the file and tick the box that says use all the time. Click okay. Hopefully that will prevent you from having to re-install anything. Peace, BJ

Hi - I'm getting the following error when double clicking on a Smart Object in Photoshop (CS4)
"Could not edit original smart object because the application which created the smart obejct could not be launched."
Notes
1. The SO was pasted into the psd file moments before from Illustrator.
2. Both applications are open
3. Both files sit on the same disk.
4. XP Pro.
Does anyone have an idea how to get PS to launch its sister program?

HI, I just had the same problem with cs5 on win7. Photoshop cs5 would not open a smart object created in AI CS4 into CS5.
Turns out I had, somehow, lost all my file associations to .ai and .eps files. When I went into properties and told win 7 to open .ai and .eps files with illy all my troubles went away.
Hope my solution helps someone else with the same prob.

I got this problem when I installed Adob master collection Over CS 5.
I had children book story storis which created in Adobe illustrator CS 5 and I created art boards in Adobe photoshop cs 5.
After installting CS 6 i tried to edit the smart objects and it was not opeinging the smart object file in Illustrator.
I did some tests.
1) Right click on smart object layer and click export contents. Save on desktopp or anywhere you want. (I saved on desktop)
2) I had this file on my desktop (Vector Smart Object10.ai) but it didn't show any icon, which program should open this type of file.
3) Double click on the file and it pop up a extension window 'Click on change and select adobe illustrator' and press OK.
4) Go back to your photoshop file and right click on smart object layer and click dit content. now this time it opens up assets in illustrator.

I just purchased a few songs from Itunes and could not edit the information in the Get Info section of the file. It's greyed out. Any ideas? Has ITunes changed and no longer allows editing.

Has ITunes changed its editing feature for songs, etc.? I just purchased a few songs and found that I could not edit them using the "Get Info" feature. The information is greyed out and does not allow editing. Among other things, I usually like to eliminate the word "THE" from group names for easier alphabetizing in my library. Thanks for any help.

Supporting detail disappeared and the could not edit

We have a planning app (v 11.1.2.2) and one user told me he entered some data into supporting detail for one cell. After he save it and the cell data became 0. And he could not edit that cell anymore. Tried to editing supporting edit for that cell brought back a blank page. I tried that cell and although the data is 0 and I could not update supporting detail either. It just brings a blank page for supporting detail. User can still enter and edit supporting details for other cells. I can think of a couple things to do:
1. Check the relational db and delete the supporting detail for that cell.
2. Restart Planning services to see if that fixes it.
But before I do that, I want to know if anyone of you encounter the same thing or not. And is there any other way to fix that.

Just to assist those who might help you with this, please give the exact version of Photoshop CS6 you are running, for instance CS6 13.0.1.3.
I had already asked for that in my previous post, but I guess you didn't quite know what I was referencing when I typed "exact version".
Sorry, I cannot help you myself because I don't deal with that kind of 3D images, don't use Windows, and in all frankness I'm not quite following your last post.
Also please give the exact model of your graphics card, so they can check whether it is on the list of cards tested by Adobe.

Are you sync'ing the new device to the same username in Palm Desktop as an older device?
If you are, this will cause problems on the new device. When you sync the device, it saves the device settings, 3rd party apps, preferences, etc. in the backup folder in the username folder on the PC. When you sync the new device it copies the contents of the backup folder for the old device to the new device. This will cause corruption in the settings for the new device thus causing erratic behavior of the new device.
Looks like you may need to hard reset your device and rename your backup folder. Go to http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887 and follow the directions to do a hard reset. Next before you hotsync your data back over you will need to rename your backup folder, to do that go here;

C:\program files\palm or palm one\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
folder to backup.old

Yes, I've had the same problem using IDCS4 on Win XP. I got MS Paint opening and I vaguely recall what I did to fix it.
Thinking it was a memory problem I know I 'Closed' and 'Re-Opened' IDCSC4 at least once. I must have closed Photoshop and Acrobat also to free up RAM prior to doing this. I think failing that, I rebooted (maybe more than once, and to a full, dead, shut down and wait for the RAM to fully discharge for 5 minutes, as I recall). Then I just started and launched ID only, and it went away, finally. It hasn't reared it's ugly head since.

According to your description, my understanding is that you could not edit documents with Office client application in SharePoint 2010.
Let’s do a troubleshooting about this issue:
1. Make sure that you have installed Office application on your machine.
2. Which explorer did you use for your SharePoint. Please test it with IE 10 32-bit, compare the result.
3. Please try to reset IE, compare the result.
4. Add your SharePoint site into Trusted site on your IE options.
5. Make sure all add-ons related to SharePoint are enable, special for SharePoint OpenDocument Class and SharePointOpenXMLDocuments.
6. Since you used OWA for your SharePoint site, please try to disable OWA, then open documents with client application, compare the result.

Why do you want to store the forms and reports in database? Do you mean something like SCM repository for versioning?
I don't find any use in storing the forms and reports in database.

Using Develop module on NEF stops 'Edit in Photoshop' command from working.

Started with LR5 CS6 CR8.1
Suddenly when a raw image has been porcessed by the Develop Module the (ctrl-E) 'open in Photoshop' command does not work for that image. It works for images that have not been 'developed'.
I have deleted LR preferences several times.
I have upgraded to LR5.2RC and CR8.2RC.
As far as I remember this catalog was new as LR5.
Any ideas please?

Creating a new catalogue and importing the images does not resolve the problem.
The problem is only occuring on a few images from a particular collection.
Creating a virtual copy also will not edit in photoshop.
Creating a virtual copy and reseting the develop settings will allow the ctrl-e command to work.
However, manually re-applying the develop settings once again stops the ctrl-e command working.

Can not edit parts of page

Can not edit part of a web page. I can edit text and pictures in the center of the page. When I go
to the info at top or bottom of page cursor changes to a circle with a line thru it. Went to adminster website and did the unlock on the 2 files it showed. No help I am new to contribute and web flie editing.

There's also the chance that they are include files. The newest version of Contribute can edit those on-page(assuming you have permissions to the folder they sit in) but I believe that older versions could not edit them on-page. With older version, you would need to open them directly if you know where they are.
