Could not erase target volume, operation timed out
Hi All,
Using Netrestore,to image g5 ppc, I can netboot fine, but when they go to erase the target volume, I get Could not erase target volume, operation timed out. When I try to use disk utility in the netrestore, and then get another message that says Macintosh HD could not be unmounted.
Tony.
As you've discovered, the system is unable to unmount the internal hard drive. This means that some process is using, or has opened a file on, the internal hard drive.
If you can get into the terminal, doing an lsof may tell you what process is using the drive.
The other possibility, if you're trying to NetBoot into a volume and then restore, is that the drive is in use for the shadow file. If that's the case, you should be able to work around this by enabling diskless NetBoot.

I started getting a Timed Out error message on my iPhone 5 when trying to browse the internet tthat reads Page could not be loaded. Connection timed out. I performed a Reset Network Settings and am still getting the error message. What is the fix?
Thanks so much for more direction.
I realized that I bought this iPod T4 about a year ago, so decided to check the date and it is still under the 1 year ltd. warranty until 21 Dec. I contacted Apple via Chat and was informed that the problem may lie in the version of iTunes I was running 10.7. Today Apple released v. 11 of iTunes which I was instructed to download. It's TOTALLY different from iTunes 10.7 - drastically different in fact.
The Apple Chat Rep set up a phone call appointment forl 8:00 pm ET tonight where another Rep will call me to make sure the restore was accomplished OK. With v. 11 of iTunes I can't even find the restore option!!! The phone Rep will have to help me navigate v. 11 of iTunes. It doesn't seem intuitive at all. Maybe it's just me?!?!
Thank you for sending this new link for firmware. It's not clear to me right now whether I'll need it or not. The phone Rep will probably somehow be able to resolve the problem. If not, they'll probably send me to the nearest Apple store if the problem is hardware, as it would be covered under the warranty. I will give another update as to what transpires as a result of the phone call with the Apple Rep.
Again, thank you so much for helping me. -

"The Connection Could Not Be Completed Because it Timed Out"
Hello,
Quick ?...I keep getting this error when trying to open up iChat v.2.1 (v153).
I'm on a work computer which is a G4. It was working fine the other day,
and then all of a sudden I'm unable to connect?
My wife tried my user name and password from another location and got
the same problem? I created another AIM account, and get the same results.
Any info would be great.
Thank you,
JKHermanHi JC,
Welcome To The Apple Discussion Pages.
IF you can see me on-line you can try me.
I and a few others are in this list
http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/ContactTesters.html
I would start with this FAQ http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=122021 and use one of the Utilities to run the Cron scripts.
You are also posting in iChat 2.x Discussions and you have iChat 3 (And Tiger)
After doing the Cron scripts, install the Commbo Install of 10.4.6
This will make you system as good as we can get it without starting again.

2012 R2 Fax Server -- "The Message could not be sent. The wait operation timed out."
I receive the following error on a newly installed 2012 R2 fax server when sending from the Windows Fax and Scan console:
"The Message could not be sent. The wait operation timed out."
The test fax that fails only contains text that I type into the body. However, if I add an attachment, the fax is successful.
Any ideas??Hi,
Would you please let me confirm whether install any third-party application on the Windows Server 2012 R2?
Please perform a clean boot to eliminate software conflicts and monitor the result. Please also check if you install all necessary updates on the server.
Meanwhile, please run
sfc /scannow command to scan all protected system files and check if find issues.
Please also refer to following article and check if can help you.

Disk Erase failed with the error- Operation timed out
I've checked my computer- Mac Book White in Apple store, everything is fine just the hard disk has been corrupted. Needed to erase and reinstall. By the time I wanted to erase it, I can't erase and appears "Disk Erase failed with the error- Operation timed out".
Anyone knows how to solve this question would be nice.
ThanksWell give this a try:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Now download a utility like TinkerTool System or Leopard Cache Cleaner - VersionTracker or MacUpdate - and use it to clear out your system, user, and font caches.
And, try this for the software update issue:
Fix for Software Update
See Troubleshooting Automatic Software Update in Mac OS X.
Delete the following files:
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
/Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
/Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.xxx.plist
"xxx" is a number.
/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate/ (delete entire folder) -

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to fix my problem
Error: Could not be opened. Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.)
Process Description:
Target Database Server Reside on different Server in the Network
SSIS Package runs from a Remote Server
SSIS Package use a ForEachLoop Container to loop into a directory to do Bulk Insert
SSIS Package use variables to specified the share location of the files using UNC like this
\\server\files
Database Service accounts under the Database is runing it has full permission on the share drive were the files reside.
In the Execution Results tab shows the prepare SQL statement for the BULK insert and I can run the same exact the bulk insert in SSMS without errors, from the Database Server and from the server were SSIS package is executed.
I am on a dead end and I don’t want to re-write SSIS to use Data Flow Task because is not flexible to update when metadata of the table changed.
Below post it has almost the same situation:
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/8de13e74-709a-43a5-8be2-034b764ca44f/problem-with-bulk-insert-task-in-foreach-loop?forum=sqlintegrationservicesInsteresting how I fixed the issue, Adding the Application Name into the SQL OLAP Connection String Fixed the issue. I am not sure why SQL Server wasn't able to open the file remotely without this.

TNS:Operation Timed Out error while trying to invoke BPEL Process from sql
Hi,
I am trying to invoke a BPEL Process from PL/sql code. When i try to invoke the process, I am getting the following error message
ORA-29273 HTTP Request Failed
ORA:06512: at SYS.UTH_HTTP at line 1029
ORA:12535: TNS:Operation Timed Out
ORA:06512: at line 18
I have the SOA suite installed on my local machine...and the BPEL process that i am trying to invoke is deployed their.
Any idea what could be wrong..following is the code piece
soap_request:='<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<soap:Header/>
<soap:Body xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/Test">

</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>';
dbms_output.put_line('soap_request: '||soap_request);
utl_http.set_proxy('3.209.30.25:80', '3.209.32.149:8888');
http_req:= utl_http.begin_request('http://3.209.32.149:8888/orabpel/default/Tes/1.0 '

,'HTTP/1.1');
dbms_output.put_line('after Begin Request' );
utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml') ;
Please adviseyou are right the file adapter doesnt invoke any bpel
process, instead it is polling the file from
directory location?If it is polling for new files, shouldn't it create a new instance of the BPEL process automatically the moment it finds a new file? In other words, should a new file trigger an instance of the BPEL process rather than being started from PL/SQL?
Can this file adapter not be invoked as bpel process
in that case?The file adapter is part of a BPEL process. The BPEL process can be invoked from e.g. PL/SQL.
In this case this file adapeter return to an RECEIVE
activity...I think this receive cannot be invoked as
a BPEL process rite?Can you explain what you mean with this?
Also , will all synchronous request return "TIMEOUT"
error, if tried to invoke from pl/sql?Only if the synchronous process instance takes more time to complete (and thus to return) than the value specified for a time-out to occur. If the instance completes in for example 10 ms and the time-out time is specified as 30 seconds, no time-out will occur.

ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out on a win2000 Oracle instance
Hi,
i have a Oracle 8.1.5 instance on a WIN2000 PC.
I can connect me to this database with sqlplus
as long i stay on the PC (means i started the sqlplus
on the same machine).
When i try to connect from an other (unix-)system
i get after a while (ca. 90 sec.) the error:
ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out
tnsping works fine (answer comes back in one second)
There are no firewalls or other "strange" things between
the database and the failing client (on an other PC,
also win2000, Oracle 8.1.5 everything works fine).
Below you see the log with debug of the listener.
I have also a trace on level SUPPORT but this is more
than 1000 lines for just 1 or 2 TNSPINGs and one SQLPLUS
connect. Due to this volume i decided not to attach it to
this initial mail.
Does any one have some advice or experiences ?
Please advice.
Best regards,

"TNS-12535: TNS:operation timed out" error after listener restart
I have two related questions:
Scenario 1:
1. I have two remote Windows machines with database on each. One is Win 2003 Server (machine A) and another one is Win XP (machine B)
2. I can ping from A to B.
3. I can ping from B to A.
4. I can tnsping from A to B.
5. I CAN'T tnsping from B to A.
6. Windows Firewall on both machines are off.
What could be possible reason for point# 5?
Scenario 2:
Now, the second part:
1. I had an unwanted entry in tnsnames.ora on B which I removed.
2. Then I restarted the listener on B. Actually, I wanted to restart the one on A to check if that resolves issue mentioned in point# 5 above.
3. I tried tnsping from A to B but suprisingly it is also giving "operation timed out" error now. So now tnsping not working from either sides.
I didn't make any changes in listener.ora on B, just stopped it and started again. Only change made was removing unwanted entry in tnsnames.ora on B.
Why does that affected database connectivity from A to B which was working fine previously?
If any extra information needed please let me know, and thanks in advance for your answers.

listener.ora on B (Win XP) - This was working before listener restart, I mean, I was able to connect to DB on B from A.
