Could not find server
I am trying to create a connection to my server so that I can
start working.
I enter the name of my FTP server, which is
http://dreamhost.com.
I enter my FTP username and password and this little box pops
up that reads:"Unknown host. Contribute could not find server "
http://dreamhost.com". Please check
your connection information or contact your administrator. Oh- I am
also online as I try to create the connection.
Any advice?
Thanks,

RFC call failed: JCO.Server could not find server function 'SET_SLD_DATA'
Hi, All
the system is PI 7.0 EHP1 oraclei Win2003 server, I configured SLD but I run RZ70, having error "RFC call failed: JCO.Server could not find server function 'SET_SLD_DATA' ". I know there are lot of tread about this error, but none of themsolve my problem. all JCO, RFC connections and SDL DATA supplier(VA) seem OK. error message in SM21 is "Could not send SLD data"
detail from SM21
The system could not send the data that has been collected automatical
for the System Landscape Directory (SLD). Check whether the gateway
configured in transaction RZ70 has been started and whether the SLD
bridge has been registered with this gateway.
You can use transaction SM59 to check this in the sending system for t
implemented RFC destinations. The RFC destinations have the standard
names "SLD_UC" for Unicode sending systems and "SLD_NUC" for non-Unico
sending systems. If a different RFC destination has been entered in
RZ70, check this destination instead.
You can use the Gateway Monitor to check the target gateways. In ABAP
systems, this monitor is started with transaction SMGW, or you can use
the external SAP program "gwmon". Check whether the specified gateway
has an active registration.
OF COURSE I checked RFC of SLD_UC and SMGW
any different ideas
Regards
ABHHi
Please check the following notes are implemented
Note 906454
Note 907729
You may be aware but if you are not --->RZ70 creates the required SLD* RFCs during runtime - therefore if you have defined these RFCs manually first using the same namespace you can get RFC conflicts which result in a failed submission
Please also check the user in the RFC is known to both systems and has required authorization to write to SLD
Generally with SLD you have to install or select a suitable gateway to handle incoming data supply traffic
Also the gateway you are using has be known to SLD and reflected in RZ70 - i.e these defintions have to be the same
It is also recommended to delete all references to SLD_* RFCs in data supplier and target SLD
after a failed submission attempt to allow RZ70 to recreate these consistently once the above has been checked
Best wishes

JCO.Server could not find server function 'CONTROL_RECIPE_AVAILABLE'
Hi Experts,
I've been trying to read some of the topics in the forums to find answers about the error JCO.Server could not find server function but still haven't resolve the issue.
Basically, the scenario is from SAP r/3 to PI 7.1 ehp1 (process integration) system.
All of the aforementioned steps we're done.
R/3 (SAP) end
1.) Create RFC destination (T)
2. ) Indicate the program ID
3.) Indicate the server/hostname
4.) Indicate the sap gateway
Test connection was made and it was successful.
SAP PI end.
Integration Directory (Let me skip from the basics and state directly the setup of my senderRFC)
1.) RFC Comm Channel (set as Sender)
2.) Indicated the server hostname (sending system), sap gateway and Program ID (basically what was indicated in RFC setup in SAP end)
3.) RFC Metadata Repository Parameters (In here I used the details of PI environment)..Created user with SAP_ALL profile..I used system without Load Balancing (Parameter, AppServer, SysNo, Logon User, Logon Password, Language and Client)
I was able to test a message from SAP end but still "JCO.Server could not find server function" was the result upon checking sm58.
Did I miss something from my setup and config?Hi Michal,
I guess there's a big difference with RFC Server Parameters and with RFC Metadata Repository Parameters.
Note: Im using PI 7.1 ehp1
For RFC Server Parameters it includes:
- Application Server (gateway)*
- Application Server Service (gateway)*
- Program ID*
For RFC Metadata Repository Parameters it includes:
- Load Balancing or no Load Balancing (choices)..in here my choice is no Load Balancing
- Application Server*
- System No*
- Logon Language*
- Logon Client*
- Authentication Mode (Use Log-on Data for SAP System or Secure Network Connection for RFC)
if Use Log-on Data for SAP System it includes:
- Logon User*
- Logon Password*
If Secure Network Connection for RFC it includes:
- Quality of Protection
- SNC Partner Name
Looked onto your blogs mentioned several times, but no information on RFC Metadata Repository Parameters. -

Error RFC sender scenario :JCO.Server could not find server function
Hi ,
The scenario which am working is as follows:
I already have a report in R/3 that calls a Bapi which is in CRM system, now I want to make this point-point connection through XI(RFC sender-XI-RFC Reciever) with out changing the report (only changing the RFC destination).
I have imported the bapi from CRM to XI , changed the rfc destination(to tcp/ip) that existed in R/3 to point to XI(test connection is working fine) and also created the RFC sender adapter .
Now on executing the report am getting the following error.
JCO.Server could not find server function
Please, let me know where I went wrong.
Should the function module exists on the XI server. If the functional module is not there then I am getting the error if the function module is there in XI then every thing is working fine.Hi Michal ,
Now my scenario is working . The error <b>"JCO.Server counld not find server function"</b> got fixed by giving the system details that contain the RFC in the adapter metadata parameters in the channel configuration.
Thanks & Regards,
Srikanth. -
JCO.Server could not find server function "ZVERIFY_FILE"
Hi Experts,
I am facing one problem, i have created on TCP/IP connection with connection type T and given it some Program Id.
I have register this Program id On SRM server.
Now from this server i want to call one JAVA file, for that purpose i have installed JCO on the server.
My server file looks like,
import com.sap.mw.jco.*;
//import com.tcs.jns.JSignNS;
//import com.tcs.jns.JSignNSException;
//import com.tcs.jns.CertDetails;
// added by paresh on 16.1.2009

import com.tcs.jie.jverify.JVerify;
import com.tcs.jie.jsign.JSign;

"DS_RFC", // corresponds to program ID defined in SM59
true, // or false for non unicode listener
repository);
serverConnections<i>.start();
public static void main(String[] args) {
startServers();
The file have no error as i have compiled it on server, its listener file given in JCO with some modification.
I have tested the connection from SM59 it's working fine,but when i call my any of the 2 function(ZVERIFY_DATA & ZVERIFY_FILE) defined in my java file then i am getting an error "JCO.Server could not find server function 'ZVERIFY_FILE'" on SRM screen.
Can anyone tell me what can be the reason????
please help, i am in real trouble.Hi,
This is may be of the wrong FunctionModule name means check in case also,it may be case sensitive.
And check whether it is remotely enabled or not and check the RFC destination.
For more details refer these threads.

Hello Tatiana,
It sounds like you're not able to access the Internet on your wife's iPad using Wi-Fi. I found a couple of resources that will help troubleshoot Wi-Fi issues on the iPhone:
Joining and troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks

iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

OS Version: 2000.4.3a
OS Service Release: 2000.4.5bSR21
OS Upgrade: 2000.4.5a
Bars Version: 4.0.15000
CUCM Version: 4.2(3)sr4b
During the upgrade process of our CUCM 4.2(3) to version CUCM 4.2(3)sr4b the database replication between our 2 servers (1x pub, 1x sub) failed. After fixing this via dbhelper tool (everthing´s green and smiling again) service seemed to be ok.
But now Cisco Bars does not work anymore. The backup process of the publisher fails with "Error=[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL-Server connection." So it looks like some kind of database setting for bars is misconfigured after the republishing process.
Yesterday I tried to reinstall BARS (now in the newest version 4.0.150000), but the same error message occured. Now I get the message "Could not find Cisco Unified database on this server" when I try to configure the Backup source within BARS.
Curiously the backup of our second CCM (sub) works as expected (but without CDR and TFTP Data). The "BackAdmin" User exists and is not locked (and wasn´t changed manually at all).
I am runnig out of ideas... :-(
Any hint or idea on how to fix this is kindly appreciated
best regards
MichaelMike,
I don't have anything definitive here but I am wondering if there is a discrepency between the database names. In SQL Enterprise Manager, you can go to the Publisher and see what the current database name is. It will be the one being replicated and will take the form of CCM0300 or CCM0301 or CCM0302. You should see more than one. Anyway, take note of the name.
Then on the Publisher launch regedit and go to HKLM\Software\Cisco Systems, Inc.\DBL\
Look at the values for DBConnection0 and DBConnection1.
It will be something like DSN=CiscoCallManager;Server=;DATABASE=;Trusted_Connection=yes
Does the in the DSN match what you expect?
Also, going to back to SQL Enterprise Manager, check out the permissions on the database (Right Click->Properties, go to Permissions tab).
Another thing to check if you think it is permissions related is the AdminUtility.exe (c:\program files\cisco\bin\). This can be used to resync system account passwords.
TBH, I am just shooting in the dark here but these are things I would check.

A few weeks ago my computer had lost the connection to the wireless internet. I set it up again and was able to connect to the internet, however since then I've been receiving an error message "Could not find a PPPoE Server." I went back into Preferences and unchecked the PPPoE server option but the error message still pops up.
Any idea how to fix it?In the Network pane of System Prefences, do you have duplicate services on the left column? When you "set it up again", you might have duplicated a service and both (the good working one and the previous that lost connection) might be trying to connect at the same time.
-
Could not find a PPPoE server problem.
I have been running my G4 plugged into a netgear ethernet hub for quite some time to get online. I also have a wireless router connected to it on which I run my windows laptops. I never had a problem having them all online at one time. I didn't use my G4 for a few weeks, when I turned it back on and tried to get online, I got the "could not find a PPPoE server" message. If I unplug the ethernet cable from the hub and plug it directly to the DSL modem, it connects with no problem, plug it back into the hub and it won't connect. I swapped the hub for a Linksys 5 port ethernet 10/100 switch. Same thing happens and I get the same message, but it will not get online if any of the PCs are online, if I shut the PCs down then the mac gets online, but if I have the mac online then the PCs will not connect. I have been on the phone with the drones from earthlink and they have been useless. If you tell them that you are running any kind of routing device the will not help you at all. I am at a loss as to how to get around this, like I said, it was all working fine before. I am not sure if the problem is at my end or if earthlink did something at their end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

G4 Mac OS X (10.4.7)Do you need to "spoof" the MAC address of the router or hub? some ISPs actually read and register the hardware MAC address of the first two devices downlinked. Modem and router, modem and G4, etc.
I stopped using a hub once switches got inexpensive and routers came with switch capability. Now have an all in one modem + router/switch which simplifies setup, wires, and only one device to worry about (but have backup modem and router etc from before in case anything should happen).
Possible that something happened. Or that your router needs to be reset. Or that a storm did something while you were gone, though you seem to have swapped devices enough to rule that part out. Or a bad cat5 cable that a mouse or cat gnawed on.
My guess is set the Linksys to the same MAC address of the hub you were using or call Earthlink again (hard I know) and have them re-authenticate the new router's MAC address.
Do you have a surge protector in front of your modem? and again an RJ45 filter before it goes out to your router or G4? I put all my equipment on APC UPS and going through surge and line protection to protect ethernet ports and equipment. -
Could not find a PPPoE server.
Broadband connects and runs fine but I keep getting a window pop up with "Internet Connect. Could not find a PPPoE server." I keep closing it!
Mini Mac OS X (10.4.2)Hi Roger,
Your profile doesn't say where you are but it's probable that you shouldn't be trying to connect over PPPoE.
Have a look at my advice in This Thread and see if that does the trick.
Best of luck,
Adrian

SQL Server Express 2014 on Win8.1: Could not find the Database Engine startup handle
Hello,
I tried to follow all the similarly titled posts in this forum, yet no solution seems to work, so I hope I can find some up-to-date suggestion here (most of the older posts refer to versions from 2008 to 2012...).
I have installed Visual Studio 2013 (with the latest Update 2 RC) on a freshly installed development workstation with Win 8.1 with all its updates. Now I'd want to install SQL Server 2014 Express, but the setup keeps failing with the dreaded "Could
not find the Database Engine startup handle" error (the log follows below).
What I tried:
1) download again and repair. Same error.
2) completely uninstall by launching setup.exe /Action=uninstall (success), then rebooting the OS, then installing again. Same error. I did this twice, the second time I also manually removed any directory left out in C:\Program Files etc.
When I launch the setup, I select all the components for installation in the package SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe (1.12 GB, last downloaded today -Apr 3, 2014-), and accept all the defaults including the proposed services accounts. There is no preexisting
SQL Server instance, as expected.
The setup takes its time, and finally fails with the error quoted above. I really do not want to reformat my HD and fully reconfigure my workstation, which took about 3 days... Could anyone suggest a solution to have SQL Server 2014 setup so I can start
developing instead of wasting time in administering the system?
Thanks to all! The log follows.

I suppose that it was really your nr.3 which made the difference. I changed NT Service\MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS to NT AUTHORITY\System for the Data service. I'll then change it again as suggested (any suggestion about a "standard"
account to be used here?), even if this is a development workstation using SQL Server Express only as a local database for debugging, so security is not really a big concern.
Thanks for the feedback.Ya I know No3 was real step but just added more info so as to rule out any other possibility.
No not as such, you wont believe,quite few pf my clients I have worked for keep it with local system and they have not complained yet ,they are afraid to change account as few of them faced issue SQL Server not coming online due to logon failure( after changing
startup account to some domain a and that was happening due to some AD policy.But if you have nay plans to move Critical database in production which would be act as Database to some Internet facing application please follow my suggestion
of running SQL Server with Least privileged domain account.
