Getting the following error when upgrading designer repository
Hello All,
I`m going through the upgrade of the designer repository from 6i to 10gR2 and I get the following error in the log file ckprereq.log. The weird thing is from the GUI everything looked ok. It`s when i went to the individual log files tha ti saw the error:
IMP-00003-ORACLE error 3120 encountered
ORA-03120: two task conversion routine:integer overflow
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
Has anyone see this?
Thanks.Yes, i just wanted to know the contents of the log file ckprereq.log. How many tables were imported?
I only have the two tables ck_installed_objets and ck_product_elements before getting the oracle import error.
I opened an SR with Oracle and they said if you don't have any missing, disabled or invalid objects, the repository was probably upgraded ok. But I wanted to confirm how many tables should be imported during a successful import.
Thanks again Wayne.
Hi Rodney,
Yes, I still have all the logs from the upgrade.
After the upgrade to Designer 10.1.2.0.2 I had 1
invalid package - oddly enough, the logs don't show
an error. I recompiled the one invalid package and
applied the patch to take us to 10.1.2.2 - except for
1 path exceeds 1023 characters message the patch
installed without issues.
Was there anything in particular you were looking for
in the logs?
Best regards,
Wayne -
Import designer repository error
I am trying to import a designer repository using RAU but I have seen several errors about ORACLE error 942. One of them is:

IMP-00003: ORACLE error 942 encountered
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
I have the same versions (dev suite 10g and database 10.2.0.2) with the source designer. Both of them are on Windows XP.
Both of the repositories are using the tablespace with exactly same name(this may be irrelevant). When I start importing, I already have some data in that tablespace in the target repository. DSGNR users on both repositories are using that tablespace as default tablespace.
Anything wrong here? I did upgrade database from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.2 myself before export/import designer repository. Not sure if this is caused by the unsuccessful update? I did not see error in database upgrade.
Your input is highly appreciated.
JenniferYes the is a problem here.
You have incompatable import export tools between Designer and the DB.
In the Repository install manual it states:
Step 5b - (Oracle 9i or 10.2 DB) Install Oracle 9i or 10.2 Import and Export Utilities
Before installing Designer Repository on an Oracle 9i or 10.2 database, you need to set up the installation workstation to use the Oracle 9i or 10.2 import and export utilities. To do so, perform the following steps at the workstation from which you will be running the repository installation:
From the Oracle 9i or 10.2 installation media, install the Oracle 9i or 10.2 import and export utilities in a dedicated Oracle home.
In the Windows Registry, locate the key named:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\KEY_HomeName\REPOS61
where HOMEn is the home number of the home installed into for a multiple Oracle home environment, but is not present where the default Oracle home is being used.
Change the value of the EXECUTE_IMPORT and EXECUTE_EXPORT variables to point to the new Oracle home. Thus, if the new Oracle home is d:\des_9i, the settings would be:
d:\des_9i\bin\exp.exe
d:\des_9i\bin\imp.exe
If you have the 10.2 DB on the same machine then just point the registry to thoes tools and if you dont you will need to install the 10.2 client with admin privleges to get the imp/exp tools installed and then point the registry to them.
hope that helps.

Photoshop CS2 (program error msg)... Help please!!
I have installed the full creative suite 2 on my new iMac. everything works fine except photoshop?!!?
Illustrator works great, In-Design works great, But when i try to open a file or create a new page in PS it tells me "Could not create document because of a program error"???? ***?
I had a previous version of CS and it worked fine for one day, then that started happening. I installed the CS2 trial version, and it would still give me the same error msg. I erased everything and installed the new CS2 (photoshop, illustrator , in-design and acrobat). It still gives me the same darn msg.???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanksSee the Adobe Knowledge Base document"Error 'Could not complete your request...' or 'Could not create a new document...' (Photoshop CS2 on Mac OS X v10.4)"
I suggest whenever you have problems with third-party applications, the first place to start troubleshooting is with the application's documentation, then vendor's web site. Usually their sites have FAQs, lists of known bugs, or application-specific forums similar to these Discussions. Sometimes, unlike the Apple Discussions, the questions are even answered by employees of the vendor.
The document cited above was found in 10 seconds by searching the Adobe support site.
Good luck!

Trouble installing Designer Repository under XE
I have installed Oracle 10g XE on another PC (as a test system), and I have the XE Client on my own laptop. I also have SQL Designer installed, and both can talk to the copy of XE just fine. However, when I try to install the Designer Suite, I've run into a couple of major problems, primarily with the repository.
I seem to be able to create the repository ok, but when I try to install it, I get the error messages (shown below) when I get to the step called "cksysfol.sql". I let the Repository installation process continue, and no other errors were raised.
I tried to research this on Oracle's discussion forums, and found very little that addresses anything like this. Several posts suggest that creating a Designer Repository is not possible under XE. Other posts seem to indicate that other people have been successful in installing a Designer repository. I also found references that said I needed to enable "Fine-Grained Access Control" as part of the original database installation process, but I didn't see any place where that was even an option.
I need to install Designer because I need access to the Entity Relationship Diagram feature for a project I'm working on.
What do I need to do to get the Repository installed correctly?

Hi,
I want to execute a query on Runtime repository user.
I need to know: Design Repository User (own of mapping execution error) , Mapping Name and Error Message.
With this query I have the Mapping Name and Error Message. BUT HOW CAN I OBTAIN THE Design Repository name OF MAPPING EXECUTION ERROR???????????????
SELECT
mr.map_name map_name, err.UPDATED_BY,err.UPDATED_ON, err.RUN_ERROR_MESSAGE, err.TARGET_NAME,RUN_ERROR_ID, err.STEP_ID, err.MAP_RUN_ID,
err.MAP_STEP, err.CURSOR_ROWKEY, err.RUN_ERROR_NUMBER,
err.TARGET_COLUMN,
err.STATEMENT, err.CREATED_ON, err.CREATED_BY
FROM ALL_RT_AUDIT_MAP_RUN_ERRORS err,
all_rt_audit_map_runs mr
WHERE mr.map_run_id = err.map_run_id
Thanks in advance!Hi
When you run a mapping from the OWB Client with the Deployment Manager frist you have to login into a runtime repository with an access user. So you don't run the mapping with a designer user, you run it with a runtime user through an access user.
You can find the deployment (runtima access) user in the ALL_RT_AUDIT_DEPLOYMENTS.CREATED_by/UPDATED_by fileds.

Error Msg - Flash Player & AOL?
Hi there-
Out of nowhere, I'm unable to run AOL anymore. I get an error
msg stating:
Macromedia Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe
operation.
The following application on your computer or network:
mad:\\105D710F-CC2A-4F90-87EA-E650C74BAFAD\default.htm
is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location:
spe.atdmt.com
To let this application communicate with the Internet, click
Settings. You must restart the application after changing your
settings.
... the choices are "OK" and "Settings...". When I click OK,
or the close X, the window disappears & then reappears in 15
seconds. Nothing happens when I click settings. WHAT is going on?
I've run every Virus checker & computer checker I have and have
found nothing. Do I need to uninstall Flash Player? I need AOL to
run my business! It was working find this AM and suddenly its not!
Thank you,

As of 4/25/2006 Adobe Technical Support has become aware of
an issue
effecting AOL customers. AOL customers launching AOL's mail
application
receive a Flash Player security message "Macromedia Flash
Player has
stopped a potentially unsafe operation".
This is a standard Flash Player security warning. For more
information
and an example of the security warning, please read " How do
I let local
Flash content communicate with the Internet?"
http://www.macromedia.com/go/4c093f20).
Flash Player is performing as
designed, to protect users from unauthorized applications on
their
machines performing potentially malicious operations.
It is your decision whether or not you allow the application
to connect
to the internet. If you want to allow the connection, follow
the
instructions in the TechNote referenced above. If you do not
want to
allow the connection, simply click OK in the security message
window. If
you are unsure whether to allow the connection, you should
contact the
web site identified in the error message to find out what
application is
causing the message to appear, and determine if you wish to
allow the
operation.
In the following security message, the web site to contact
for more
information is atdmt.com.
"Macromedia Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe
operation The
following local application on your computer or network:
mad:\\03BEDE57-4A24-4ABB-8EA8-916A-DA14911\default.html
is trying to communicate with this internet enabled location
spe.atdmt.com"
This is not an issue that can be resolved by Adobe Technical
Support.
This is a content development issue on the AOL side. You can
choose to
trust the location in the error message, but you do so at
your own risk.
We've informed AOL of the issue and are relying on them to
repair it
with their content developers.

Error installing Oracle Designer/SCM Release 9.0.2.6 patch
Hi.

Email: [email protected]What exactly do you want to do with Designer? You need to install the Designer repository in a Oracle database before you can use Designer.
I suggest that you read the Repository Installation Guide (installed with the product or on OTN) and then go through the Designer Tutorial on OTN (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/designer/9i_collateral.htm#tut) to understand some Designer concepts. -

I am unable to log in OWB Design Browser for report generation on Design Repository. I am in a Oracle client machine as well as it is OWB client. It giving an error message, 'Invalid Oracle HTTP Server information' whenever I am trying to login OWB design browser.
I am providing ip address of my oracle database server i.e host machine, port no, user id. What could be the reason and what is the solution?
And also I want to know the exact data for all these three columns. The design repo is a metadata repo that stores all the design-time objects and so forth.
It is an architectural decision that you or your team need to decide on. There are many flexible ways to architect an OWB infrastructure.
Also, your repository users will be using the design repository on the the other DB instance to do their design work...potentially less people always hitting the target database all the time.

Now I have all objects in my Design Repository in Production environment.
I know that I have to change the Locations parameters (for example: The Host Name and Port Number)
Do I have to change anything else?
What do I have to change?
Thanks!Apart from location and physical configuration parameters, dont we have to re-import(reconcile) the tables and PL/SQL transformations also?
We faced a similar situation, when we imported the project in different environment and changed the location, the validation gave an error.re-importing the tables and PL/SQL transformations solved it.
we are using OWB 10.1 with oracle 10g on windows2000 server.

Two things. The first is that currently the Designer 6i and Forms 6i are not yet certified for XP. Patch 13 (due out in Jan 2003) will have support for the Forms 6i Builder Running under XP. Once Forms 6i is certified, Designer6i will follow suite.
The second thing is that despite this, you should be able to install your Designer repository for 6i. You are probably running into an NLS language setting.
Please refer to Note:190092.1 on Metalink (http://metalink.oracle.com/) for more information on this.
The log files should be in {ORACLE_HOME}\REPADM61\LOGS.

How to unregister an unavailable control center in the design repository?
We are using OWB 11.1. and we have 8 control centers which are registered in the design repository but these control centers have become unavailable. Is there any way to unregister control centers which are inaccessible?
Thanks for the response.
There is no problem to unregister locations which have become unavailable. We've used wb_env_util.unregister_location, which works quite well. By the way the script owb/misc/unregister_location.sql does not work any more if your using OWB 11.1. But our problem are the control centers which are pysically gone. We have unregistered all locations which were somehow associated with these control centers, but still we can't modify or delete them. For example if I try to rename one of these control centers using OMB I get the following error message: "OMB06316: Cannot modify any properties of a registered contol center except the password".
