Could not load video

i have been trying to watch a movie that's still downloading and i keep getting a message saying 'could not load video'.
Is this because its still downloading or something else?

Sounds like a problem with your regular wifi network since it work with your hotspot.
Does it work wihen connect to another regular wifi network?
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Y willhae to ejoin all wifi networks and repair BT defices
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Itunes rental on ipad says "could not load video"

    I downloaded a SD video from itunes 2 days ago to watch on a flight. About 10 minutes in I received an error message "could not load video". I've closed out the app now, restarted my ipad & connected to wifi thinking I could reinstall it. Nothing has worked so far. Do I just need to request a refund for the rental at this point or is there a solution?

    Because the rentals have only a 24-hour playback period and were not able to watch the entire movie, then report the issue to the iTunes Store.

    I would recommend deleting the affected movie from your iPad, and redownloading the movie.

    I Downloaded a rental movie from the iTunes Store on my iPad mini after the download the movie appeared in the videos app and I started watching almost immediately after the download was completed. After about 20mins the movie stopped playing and I got a message on the screen saying could not load video. I checked the chapters section on the rental movie and I could see all the chapters loaded. But when I clicked on individual chapters after the 20th min I am getting the same message could not load video. Apparently I could make out that only the chapters containing the first 20mins of the movie are playing and the rest of the chapters are not playing. What could be the issue? Pls help.     In both the past and present I have had much difficulty with playing many YouTube videos on my iPod touch 4. This happens to be the case no matter if I am in the YouTube app or on the mobile YouTube site in safari. I will try to play a video to watch it and often times I blue box will pop up saying 'could not load movie'. This makes video viewing and sharing quite difficult! Please help! Thank you very much!

    Here is an explanation for you for the "could not load movie" error, which I have also received on my iPad.
    If you run across this error on your iDevice, keep the following in mind:
    This is taken from another site, so I will quote:
    "Most of the time its due to the age of the video upload, this one for example was done back in 2009 which was 2 years ago now. YouTube as you know relies heavily on Flash for video playback which is not compatible with the iOS range.
    However to combat this, YouTube did work on converting chunks of videos to H264 playback, but by default the entire backlog of videos did not go through this conversion process...so you will find the odd video out there that does not play.
    I believe though (and please someone correct me here if i am wrong) YouTube by default now encodes uploads in H264 as well as flash and a few other formats for multi-platform enjoyment :-) "
