Could not sign in using Apple ID. FaceTime and iMessage

I recently got an iPhone and I cannot sign in iMessage and FaceTime with my Apple ID. It just doesn't happen. I connect ot my home wifi, apps download just fine, nd facebook and skype work beautifully. But when I try to sign in the above mentioned 2 things, I get this message and I quote, "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again."
Any Advice?

Solved, Open your router page on your browser and enter your primary dns in your iOS device. It worked then.

    Hello
Try this... I had the same problem and this worked for me.
Go to your system preferences → network → make sure WI-FI selected → advanced → DNS tab. Add 8.8.8.8 to the DNS servers. Go back to FaceTime and try to verify your account again.
    Good luck!

  • Will Apple support facetime and imessage in Ipod though 5.1.1 ?

Will Apple support facetime and imessage in Ipod though 5.1.1 ?

The Apple Messages app cones with iOS 5 and later. That means a 3G and later iPod has Messages.
Facetime requires a front camera. That only the 4G and later iPod has FaceTime

I had the same problem. I went in and added my email address to iMessage and deleted the text to my friends that have iPhones and sent another to test it and it worked. Only thing is now my non iPhone friends don't receive my pic text. I had to turn off iMessage for it to work. Apple needs to fix this ASAP!

  • IMessage Could not sign in - Using Mac Pro

Completed the upgrade to Yosemite for laptop. Everything working just fine.
Completed the upgrade to my Mac Pro and iMessage is coming up with an error
"Could not sign in to iMessage.
Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again."
Everything else is working. Connected to the cloud. Connected to FaceTime.
iMessage is the only thing that's glitching.
I've tried logging in using my hotspot connection too to make sure it's not a true network issue.
Anyone else out there having this issue and hoping someone smarter than I resolved it.
I've read in other forums it could be something to do with the DNS so I've included a screenshot of that.
    Thanks for any help.

I was having the same issue and called Apple customer support.
They suggested to restart my Mac Pro (early 2009) in safe mode and login back to iMessage, it worked for me!
    Turn off your computer.
Turn it back on holding the shift key
You are now on SAFE MODE
Open iMessage and login back on, you will login without any problem!
At this point you can reboot the computer in NORMAL MODE!
    Hope it helps!

Everytime i try to activate my imessages it says could not sign in. please check your connectio n and try again. my connection is fine. why can't it activate my account?

    1. Make sure software is up to date
    2. Make sure Messages is enabled; Settings>Messages
    3. Make sure Date and Time is correctly set; Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
    4. Make sure Push Notification is enabled
    5. Make sure phone number or email address is correct
    6. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) until you see the Apple Logo

  • I want to sign in using apple id password and altho i have changed my email address on the settings, the old one comes up on the box on the ipad when trying to update all the apps.  so putting password in no longer works, as its the address. how fix ?

Signing in using the apple id password to update and purchase stuff thru apple store, gives the old email and am unable to get into the apps store, etc...to change, update and purchase stuff.   when using password it won't work, as the email is wrong, yet in the box doesn't appear a place to change the email. would have thought as it changed, days ago - it would change to the updated email.
how do i access the stuff ? thanks

    How did you fix this??

  • FaceTime always throws this error "Could not sign in, Please check network connection and try again" whenever i try to log in

Processor:      Intel Core i7 2.9 Ghz
    Memory:         8GB 1600Mhz DDR3
    HDD:              1TB (5400rpm)
    Graphics:       Intel HD Graphics 4000

Not sure if you have tried adding 8.8.8.8 to the DNS servers yet or if your messages app is a problem as well. for me the only fix was as follows:
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/IdentityServices
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. Log out or restart the computer, empty the Trash, and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
Basically drag the items in the identityservices folder to trash log out, log back in, empty trash, start messages or facetime!!
    GOOD LUCK!

  • Apple ID could not sign in

Every time I sign in on my ipad, Iphone and itunes, I always get this: Could Not Sign In. Your Apple ID or password is incorrect. I tried to go to iforgot.apple.com, and follow the instructions for password retrieval. I typed my user ID correctly, and got the instruction: Password Reset Options. I choose: Reset by Email. There, I assume the password resetting should be confirmed by email. But I never get the email from Apple. I tried it on all my devices, but still no email. My Apple ID is a not the form of email address. It was created on January 2006. Now, I use my other account to sign in to this discussion forum .
I don't know why my Apple ID seems to be missing, or deleted. I don't remember I delete it. Just a few hours before this happened, I can sign in to itunes. But now, I can't do anything. Everything on my apple devices is connected to that account. And I bought everything on itunes with that account too... What should I do? Please help.

Solved, Open your router page on your browser and enter your primary dns in your iOS device. It worked then.
