Could not start the Bonjour Service service on local computer. Error 6: The handle is invalid

I have been trying to load teh new Itunes 10.5 for the last week and have been unsuccessful. When the load get to the Bonjour service it fails and puts up a message.
I have Administrators rights on the machine. I have updated the OS to the latest patch level. I have turned off the Anti-virus and Firewall and still this service will not load. Is there any Ideas of what I can try?

I thank everyone that responded to this post, I learned a lot from each of them. After my first attemps with Sean and Shanky I put it asside for a bit and got back to it today.
I did what Lydia suggested and disabled the TCP/IP (the Named Pipes was already Disabled) and left only the Shared Memory Enabled and the SQL Server started with no errors. I launched the software that was requiring the SQL DB and everything is working
correctly, which I find odd because the software specifically says to check that TCP/IP is Enabled when there are issues with their instance of the SQL Server not starting.
Since the software I needed the SQL for runs properly I will assume this is fixed.
Thanks again for everyones help.
PS - Sean, just to verify I did check and there was no forced encryption and verified that I had set the ports to different values for each instance of SQL Server.

Today I installed Adobe Director 11.5. I received a couple of errors in the FLEXnet Licensing Service. It looks It could not start. I tried to download the Licence fix what I found on Google but that doesn't work, so I checked the 'Service' at service (windows).

Could Not start Enterprise Management Server Service

Hi,
I have installed Oracle 8i Personal Edition 8.1.6.00 on a Win2000
machine at home.
I can connect to the database that i have created (oracleDB)
When i try and run Enterprise Manager and connect to the
database, i get
the error
"ORA- 12541: TNS: no listener"
Im guessing this is because i do not have the
'OracleOraHome81ManagementServer' service running (???)
When i try and start it from the Services MMC, i recieve the
error
"Could not start the OracleOraHome81ManagementServer servic on
Local
Computer
Error 997: Overlapped I/O operation in progress"
Can anyone help me out with this?
All other Oracle related services run fine.
I have admin privelages for the PC.
Have PATH for oracle set up correctly i think.
Any help would be much appreciated

Try creating a repository via the Configuration Assistant first
Martin, and then start the OMS service. It worked for me.

I have got installed Oracle Apps R 12 on my laptop. The system is running with Windows 2000 server. All went well till the time there were prop.er shusttdown of machine. The ConcMgr service stopped working when the system was turned off due to power down. First time when it happned i could got it work by installing the software agin. However it is become laborious every time to follow the same. Can any one has solution for this issue? I would appriciate your reply.

Could not start hyperion essbase service

When i am starting essbase services it is starting sucessfully.
and when iam starting admin services its starting and at the same time essbase services is stopping, if iam trying to start the services its throwing error like

i have checked the task manager : no other process for essbase are running for any user.

LSH error on installation server: Could not install DS as a service

Hi
we set up an installation server some time ago. In the past all users had administrative privileges therefore no LSH was necessary. Currently we are upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 and the users won't be admins anymore. That's why LSH is necessary now.
I tried to set the LSH up, but when I confirmed the DS und IS data in the LSH configuration, the following error appeared:
Could not install DS as a service
The server provides SAP GUI 7.20 PL 8
The installer version is 8.6.1.72 (latest!?) and reffering to note 1587566 didn't result in any solution. A similar problem is mentioned in thread LSH on installation-server fails with "Could not start DS as a service" but it doesn't help me either.
Did anyone figure out similar problems with LSH or knows a workaround/fix?

infact i have installed BugZilla in the Server,
for this I have got to installed Apache,Perl ,
the path Value for the Envoronment Variable is Changed with perl Value Entry,
and the Entry for Oracle is after Perl,
By changing the Oracle on its 1st Positon
as Below & Restarting the PC the Listerner got Started
path Value in Environment Variable is updated as Below as Before the Installation of BugZilla
C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db\bin;C:\Perl\site\bin;C:\Perl\bin;C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db\jlib;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem

That's an unfamiliar one, steve.
Let's see what happens if we try to start the service manually.
In your Start menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications"
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the Window to better see what's going on.)
Select the Bonjour Service and click "Start".
Do you get an error message then? If so, what does that one say?

I have 2 instance of SQL Server in same server. A is installed first and B next.
Somehow A cannot start at all when I try to start from Windows Services.
B can be started normally.
A worked normally week ago. There has been only one thing what I may have to server since that.
I have installed MondoDB. Currently MondoDB it is stopped.

Data file of both SQL Server instance are located on same C drive of same server.

Hello Kenny,
The main issue is not related to SQL server .SQL is at receiving end its hardware or the cables ( not sure which one) are the one causing issue.

Using Windows 8.1 Pro on Toshiba Satellite i7 Laptop with 8Gb Ram
After upgrade from Windows 8 Pro to 8.1 Pro, the Offline Files/CSC service refuses to start and gives the error message:
"Windows could not start the offline files service on local computer. Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified"
Before the upgrade, offline files worked fine... how do I re-enable offline files?

I had a similar issue - couldn't make any files available offline.
I found that the offline folder service would not start
This was because the CSC permission were totally screwed. I had to take ownership of each folder and file, one by one, then grant everyone full access.
then delete the full contents of the CSC folder
format the CSC database using the registry fix then reboot
in control panel, disable the offline files, reboot, then re-enable. and now its working :)
2hrs to resolve this, with grateful thanks to this thread and some others.
