Hi,
Got another problem with facetime today.
Downloaded Facetime 1.0 from the app store today. Installed ok. But when opening, I am taken to the Authentication stage. I log in using my Apple ID ,then choose my e-mail address. When I move to the next stage, I receive the above message.
I am connected to the internet ok and have logged in ok.
I then track down the page for my Apple Id - https://appleid.apple.com . I log into my page and next to my email address, it states "Not Verified." There is a green "Verify now" button next to it. I pressed it and nothing more seems to happen. The blue progress bar completes and the spinning icon stops and the page reload icon appears, suggesting to me that the job is complete.
So I go to my email client (Gmail) and no email arrives, in any folder including spam folder. so I recheck in Thunderbird. Nothing!
Anyone have any idea why my email account is not verified?

Well, my problem appears to be solved!
I was trying to log in using my iTunes information, but this is not my Apple Id. My username in this forum is my apple Id.
For some reason, my iTunes and app store details were auto-completing the forms.
When I tried with the username from this forum, it went straight through!!
Account e-mail was already verified when I logged into my Apple Id help page.

So our school lets us use Macbook Airs for the school year, and it has facetime on it. I know facetime isn't blocked because like everyone else is using it. So I decide to give it a try. I click the icon, it says enter your apple ID. I dont have one, so I click to make one, and do so. I then enter my apple ID and click next. The screen reads "People will call you using your email address. What email address would you like to use?" I enter my email address in the box below the message, and then go to my email and click the link, and sign in, thus verifying the email. I go back to the facetime window, and click next. At the top it says Verified, but when I click next it doesn't go on to the next step, it simply blacks out the next button so that I can not click it, and after a few minutes a message comes up that says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."
So that is the issue, please help!!!!!

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

Facetime Activation: Could not verify the email address. Please re-enter and try again. Tried so many times,even changed my appe ID and purchased a new facetime for iMac running 10.8.4 Mountain Lion,yet still same outcome. Can somebody help me?
I have the same problem. FaceTime works fine on my iMac but when trying to use FaceTime on my Macbook Air, I have the same issue you describe.

I get the above error when I try to activate iMessage or face time on my iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.2.
I too faced the same problem . I was using imessage in ios6 and when i upgraded , There were issues like ,
check network connections and Try again . , Connect to itunes for Push notifications . It was irritating and annoying for everyone i guess
Steps to Resolve the i meeage issue
1) Connect your phone to P.C and Back up your datas to P.C via I tunes
2) Once the back up is complete . Connect your phonbe to Wifi or 3G cellular network and Boldly go to Settings-->General --> Reset--> Erase all datas
( Do not worry if you had backed up your datas )
3) Iphone will reboot . it will take some time
4) Then your iphone will start . Click next and you will be prompted for i message activation . Give your apple id and Sign in
5)Keep your phone connected . In P.C you will be prompted if you want to restore ( EOther wise go to I tunes --> File --> Device--> Restore back up
It really worked for me .

Facetime worked on my I phone but not my MBP. im not sure what it means by saying check network connection.
Its just cause they at getting smashed and there servers are not running as smooth having same probs with I message just give it a day

My daughter forgot her passcode. Her iPod Touch 4gen is disabled. I've tried everything I've read online. I get to the "Restore" part on iTunes and then I get the message, "The iPod Software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network connections are correct and your network connection is active or try again later." How can this be so hard to do? Why isn't there a simpler solution. I live 2 hours from the nearest Apple store. Any advice you may offer would be very much appreciated.

Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

OpenDNS IP Addresses
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem -

Hi
One of our websites recently moved servers. I have done
everything i can think of in re-setting up the new connection.
Enabled Contribute in DW. Changed my FTP settings in Contribute
etc.
I can connect no problem, in both DW and Contribute, but our
client cannot. I have sent her all the new FTP details to change
the settings manually. When i did this she was given no option to
alter the folder name that the site sits in.
So instead i sent her a new connection key. Now she gets the
error message:
contribute could not verify your connection key. a network
connection to the server could not be established. please contact
your administrator for assistance.
Any ideas?

I fixed mine by creating a totally new Apple ID with a brand new e-mail and new password. DO NOT link it with the account that's not working.

Can anyone help me, I can't use my Facetime as I enter my Apple ID it keeps coming up with "Facetime could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." but my network is ok and can access the net. My apple ID works fine with iTunes and Apple TV and my iPad so I am at a loss.

Try this... I had the same problem and this worked for me.
Go to your system preferences → network → make sure WI-FI selected → advanced → DNS tab. Add 8.8.8.8 to the DNS servers. Go back to FaceTime and try to verify your account again. Let me know if that works.
