Could´nt find a camera profile for the M9.

I have just bought a Leica M9 but I could not find a camera profile for the M9. In the folder "application support/adobe/camera raw/" there is only a profile for the M8. Do I simply not see the profile or is there none. I am using Lightroom 4.4. and Camerea Raw 7.6. on a Mac.

It isn’t on the list but it produces DNGs with an embedded camera profile so it wouldn’t need any specific support from Adobe, I don’t think, so maybe they didn’t feel the need.
If you download the sample DNGs from KenRockwell, you’ll see an Embedded and an Adobe Standard camera profile, which don’t appear to be different because switching between them produces only the tiniest variation in the histogram.  If something equivalent to Adobe Standard is already embedded in the camera’s DNGs that there wouldn’t be any other Camera-this or Camera-that profiles to match, hence only Adobe Standard is supplied.

  • Latest Update: New Camera Profiles for the D700 (Version 4)

I see with the latest update of Lightroom brought with it version 4 of the camera profiles.  I've dabbled with using several of them, especially the Camera Portrait.  I have versions that consist of for example:
    Camera Portrait
    Camera Portrait beta 2
    Camera Portrait v3
    Camera Portrait v4
Of course, the previous versions can be left as is however the list I have now is quite long and wanted to know if I would be missing out if I were to discard/delete previous versions and just keep the v4's.
I realize this is personal preference however are the newest versions (version 4) for Camera D2X, Camera Landsape, Camera Neutral, Camera Portrait, Camera Standard and Camera Vivid for the D700 all one needs for the average Lightroom user?
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for giving me your advice.  Like kbkbn said, the older versions don't do anything by being there and you never know if you want to use one of them in the future.  I will start using the version 4 profiles and compare them more to the older versions.  Thanks again.
Are there any other worthwhile sources of profiles?  I do have a few I created myself with my Color Checker Passport for specific shooting locations in my yard for specific times of days.
    Thanks again.

  • Lightroom 2 and Camera Profiles for the Nikon D50

    Hi,
I've installed Lightroom v2 and the new Camera Profiles, as per the instructions and various postings I should now see my camera name appear in the Profile section of Camera Calibration.
The default profile is ACR 4.4 and when I drop the list down I see the usual settings and Camera D2X Mode 1 Beta 1, Mode 2, etc. but no reference to Nikon D50?
The Metadata on my images is set to a Make of NIKON CORPORATION and a Model of NIKON D50.
Looking in C:\programdata\adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\ I can see there is a D50 profile but Lightroom v2 isn't showing it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Where do you put DNG camera profile for light room?

I just received my Leica M9 and downloaded from chromasoft a camera profile for the M9. it is a .dcp file but I can not find where to use it.
    Adolfo

Dependent on OS. On Windows vista the usual location is Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CamerRaw\CameraProfiles .
Or you can place it directly in the folder where the Adobe profiles are located, usually Users\All Users\Adobe\CamerRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera|Leica M9
    on OSx /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles
The actual profile is used via the calibration setting in the develop module.

    Hi,
I have a template created using UI Shell and have 2 fragments being used as a dynamic region. So far so good. All is well and when i run the application i can see the regions.
Don't know what this has to do with the problem and its solution. Its confusing.
Now i created a custom template (.jspx) file and tried to use the same fragments in this template.
Assume you meant that you used the same task flow reference - correct ?
If you set definition="public" , does it make a difference ?

  • Current Lightroom / Camera Raw Camera Profile for Sony ILCE-6000 inaccurate: green cast in shadows! Capture one better! Please fix it!

    Hi folks from Adobe!
Please take note that the current Lightroom / Adobe Camera Raw Camera Profile for the Sony ILCE-6000 is very inaccurate: There is a serious green cast in the shadows!
Capture One Express for Sony (which is free by the way) renders a lot more correctly!
Please correct this, since I'd rather buy the coming LR6 because of keeping my established workflow instead of going the Capture One route.
A good example can be found in the dpreview forum "LR5 A6K shadow pulling, a mess! Adobe LR is broken? "
Or search for Philp Reeves 3 weeks with the Sony A6000 review "3 Wochen mit der a6000", where he compares it to the Sony A7, using both times Lightroom to push the shadows.
The Sony A7 is fine where earth looks like brown earth, the A6000 picture looks like grass instead.
Please fix this! This is a high volume camera frequently bought by enthusiast or as second body for FF photographers. That would be really great!

I am talking about the two raw files linked in the very last post of page 6 of the Reeves comparison thread, not JPGs or screenshots of unknown manipulation.  In LR they both say f/11 and ISO 100 and have a similar tone, but one is shot at twice the shutter speed as the other.  This side-by-side is using Adobe Factory Defaults for each image where the profile is Adobe Standard, the toning sliders are all 0, tone-curve linear, and the Sharpening and Color NR are 25:
However, when I look at the camera-embedded JPGs, side-by-side, the 1/80th image on the left is darker than the 1/40th image on the right, as expected given the reported shutter-speed difference:
And it is indeed the darker image that has more shadow problems, also as expected.
When I do manipulate the darker (a6000) raw file in LR, I do see that the shadows are greenish when brightened unlike most other cameras which usually show magenta, which is the combination of the blue and red sensors showing more noise because there are half-as-many photosites as compared to the green, so I am seeing what people are complaining about and would expect shadow noise to be purple not green, I'm more concerned that these two example raws aren't actually comparable due to apparent differences in exposure.  It is also odd that the lens listed in LR is different than the lens listed in the filename, so either someone has mistakenly or deliberately renamed the file wrong or someone or something has changed the EXIF parameters that LR is reporting to be the same when they're really not.

  • The factory profile for the display could not be found.

Whenever I try to color calibrate my Mid 2010 iMac I get the error message "The factory profile for the display could not be found". When you look at the profile settings for the display a color sync profile is set, but the setting for the factory profile is blank. I know where the color sync profiles are stored but it seems to me that the display has lost the setting to the factory profile. Can anyone tell me what the default factory profile setting should be? and how do you restore the setting? (note: I seem to have all the ICC files, it's the default factory setting itself that is missing)

There seems to be a lot of posts about this issue dotted around the net with no-one able to come up with a solution. So I found a solution myself! =P
    1) Download a copy of Plistedit Pro. It's shareware, so donate!
    2) Edit /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist (you will need to create a copy of the file, edit the copy and then copy back)
Using the plist editor find the coloursync entry for your device and simply edit the factory default entry to point to a valid colorsync profile file (.icc).
I can now colour calibrate my iMac again. Phew!!!

  • Updated to iOS 7, when my phone came on for the first time I could see I had 2 new viber messages.  When I went to open viber it asked me to register my number, which I did. Once the app was open I noticed all my message history was gone.

    Hi,
I have only just upgraded to iOS 7 on my iPhone 4 and am having a  problem with Viber. When my phone came on for the first time after the update I could see I had 2 new viber messages, when I went to open viber it asked me to register my number, which I did. Once the app was open I noticed all my message history was gone...
I still have an itunes backup of my phone just before the update, I restored it to this backup, followed the same process and now viber will not even work (the access code wont sms to me and the phone call option for recieving this code also come up with some error about not being able to do this at this time).
I have been able to access viber using another phone number (I have two sims which I use as I am currently overseas in south korea, my referenced australian sim has worked previously on viber overseas and I definently do have roaming on) but again I have no message history.
    So to questions:
    1) Why is my activation not working under my referenced australian number?
    2) Can I recover all my message history which should be saved in my itunes backup?  I am willing to revert to this backup state again if needed.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

Look iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is a backup listed for your iPhone 5 dated BEFORE you restored your iPhone 4 backup to your iPhone 5? If not, your data is gone. If there is a backup, on your iPhone 5: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You should now be able to restore that backup, if it exists, to your iPhone 5.

  • Camera Raw RC 8.6 does not automatically locate the lens profile for the new Canon 16-35mm f4 lens.  The profile is in RC 8.6

I have loaded Camera Raw RC 8.6.  It can not automatically locate the new Canon 16-35mm f4 lens, although the lens profile can be manually found.

    Hi
I forgot to answer one question.
When I have a file from the Canon 16-35mm f4 lens in Camera Raw and go to
Lens Correction and check the box Enable Lens Profile Corrections, when I
select  the model in the first box as Canon, it picks the wrong 16-35mm lens.
It  picks the f2.8.  I hope that you can get this fixed in Raw 8.6.  It is
a major headache for the user of this new lens.

  • I would like to add a new Canon camera profile to the RAW interface

Hi,  I would like to add a new Canon camera profile to the RAW interface.
I have recently installed the new camera profile 'Studio Portrait' which i download from here:
    http://www.canon.co.jp/imaging/picturestyle/file/studio-portrait.html
When I open up a RAW files in Camera RAW, go to 'Camera Calibration', click on the drop down list called
'Camera Profile'  I only see  'Adobe Standard, Faithful etc etc'.
My questions are, can i add the same camera profile i put in my camera, into a folder with in photoshop?
Or is photoshop reading the raw file and only seeing the default camera profiles?
If I could see the new camera profile listed it would help with work flow.
    Best
    JL-B
Please help, ive not had a good time waiting on the phone and trying to explain this to a live chat, hours have been wasted. Once i know the answer I can get back to the commission.

    Are you following this
    Apply a camera profile
To apply a camera profile, select it from the Camera Profile pop-up menu in the Camera Calibration tab of the Camera Raw dialog box. The Adobe Standard profile for a camera is named Adobe Standard. Camera Matching profiles include the prefix Camera in the profile name. The Camera Profile pop-up menu displays only profiles for your camera.
If the only profile in the Camera Profilemenu is Embedded, it means that you have selected a TIFF or JPEG image. Adobe Standard and Camera Matching profiles work only with raw images.
Note:  If you have selected a raw file and Adobe Standardand Camera Matching profiles do not appear in the Camera Profilepop-up menu, download the latest Camera Raw update.

  • Hello, Can you tell me where I can found the lens profil for the Canon 500MM F4 Mark II

Can some one tell me where I could find this lens profile for Lightroom 5.4.
    thanks

Given the 600mm F4 IS II (February 2011) lens profile hasn't been created yet it may be a while (if ever). I wouldn't worry about it since the lens profile only corrects distortion and vignetting. There is virtually no distortion with either of these lenses and vignetting is within 0.2EV using the 600mm profile, which you can set as the "default" profile. Personally I think people put too much emphasis on the need for "automatic" lens profile correction. All my lens profile defaults are set to Distortion = 0 and Vignetting = 50. I change the setting only when an image appears to need more correction. WHY?
    REASON
Distortion correction crops part of the image and increases "edge" stretching with wide angle lenses–It's a trade-off for straight lines in the image. IMHO-If it's not visible in the image you don't need it. 100% Vignetting correction setting can look un-natural and amplifies lens aberrations and softness in the corners, which is where vignetting correction is applied the most.
    My 2 cents worth.

  • Where can I find lens correction profiles for EF 17-35 f/2.8L lens using ACR 6.2?

Using Photoshop CS5 Extended on iMac 10.6.4.
I'm  working with wedding photos shot by a friend but I cannot find lens  correction profiles for Canon EOS 20D or the EF 17-35 f/2.8L lens. When I  search online it simply says "No online profiles found". Is there a  download for older lens profiles? I checked & I'm using ACR 6.2. I don't have the camera so there's no  way to take test photos to create my own profile. But, shouldn't there  be a profile available; the camera isn't that old?

Go to DXO Pro and download the 30 day trial. It works very well for lens/body correction, and unlike Adobe, DXO maintains data on the older cameras and lenses. Updates will always have those available. Adobe is a latecomer to this part of the correction process, so as Ian said, no call, no supplier? Out of luck.
    http://www.dxo.com/intl/photo
It's fair to note that DXO does not necessarily have a complete line of everything, like my Tamron 28 to 75 isn't available as a module. They do pay attention to demands, or lack therof,  that are not mainstream as well. But their offerings are excellent, and the tests, professional.

  • When will there be a profile for the Hasselblad HCD 24mm?

Does anyone have an idea when we'll see a lens profile for the Hasselblad HCD 24mm both for the Hasselblad and the Leica S?
    Thanks.

I understand, my post was probably inappropriate considering I could not even afford the lens or the camera that it was designed for.
I just thought that for a prime lens at a fixed focal length, of the quality one would expect, for the price would not need help from a $150 software package. I once saw a post in a hotel elevator "How sad to have a Champagne taste with a Beer income".
Does the manufacturer supply the necessary correction info for third party raw conversion software to make appropriate correction.
