i recently purchased a soundblaster audigy 2 nf (external)
i dont have 5. or 7. speakers just using a normal headset and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the best settings would be for me to use like should i have cmss enabled when listing to music and what eax audio effect would be the best for me to use and im not to sure if i should have audio clean up on.

Since it fails while loading fonts this could be a font-related problem. You need an application that checks for and repairs or de-activates bad fonts. Unfortunately, I don't know of one. But a net search might turn one up.
Also, try typing without capitalizing every word. Makes it a little difficult to read. Good luck! -

I am trying to get ACLs working on a packet tracer network for a college assignment but I'm hitting brick walls and could do with some advice please!
I need to create an ACL that will allow web traffic from a host on one LAN to an internal webserver on a separate LAN and external webserver. I have tried the following ACL applied to the inbound interface of the router the host is connected to but it keeps failing.
My extended ACL looks like the following;
access-list 150 permit tcp any host 172.40.56.254 eq domain - (this is the internal DNS server address)
access-list 150 permit tcp any host 172.40.56.254 eq www - (this is the internal HTTP server address | www.jrt.com)
access-list 150 permit tcp any host 192.168.16.2 eq www - (this is the external HTTP server address)
When I try www.jrt.com in the browser in simulation mode when the packet hits the router I get the red envelope with "1. The device sends back an ICMP Administratively Prohibited Unreachable message."
What am I doing wrong?

I only want to allow DNS and web traffic, the assignment requires me to allow access to a website but nothing else, no ping etc.
I created the ACL above thinking that that would allow just the traffic I need to allow and deny anything else, but like I say I am unable to get the web page up from the browser of the host.
I can get the site using "permit ip any 172.40.56.254" but that also allows ping replies which I need to denyThe error says ICMP - ICMP is used by ping (echo and echo reply packets).
Your access-list entries don't allow icmp ( a protocol type in itself) - only "domain" and "www" (udp/53 and tcp/80). -
Please, please, please overhaul iTunes and give me a LITTLE bit of control.
I understand that Apple likes to keep things simple and intuitive so that people can't accidentally screw things up. But iTunes is bloated and brings my computer to a grinding halt.
Basically, I can't afford over 9GB on my 60GB C: drive to store my iPod Touch backup. I have my iTunes library set up on an external HD, but there are a ton of big things that iTunes insists on needlessly putting on my C: drive without any option to change it: backups, update download files, photo cache. Let me default these things to my external HD with the rest of my iTunes library, so the C: drive can be dedicated to the OS and program essentials!
The result is that right now I am unable to update my iPod. The combination of the backup file and update file has left too little working space on my C: drive for the update to take place. I manually backed up my iPod backup to another place to temporarily free space on C:, but there's no option to run the update without running another backup.
Although this is my biggest gripe with iTunes, I also say it's way past due for an interface facelift and for it to play nicer with very large libraries and external storage and album art.

For the impl file i need to make it use the Caesar Cipher method where there is an integer and this integer is used to encrytp a word so if the integer is equal to 1 each of the letters in the word are incremented by 1 so if the word "HELLO" was inputted the output would be "IFMMP" if u get what i mean but i am finding it difficult to put into code.
Could someone give me a few clues please.

MARKmate, i wasn't saying why are you messing with RMI, what I mean was why are you trying to do it all at once. Try to break down the problem. If all you want to do is to increment the character by one then the simplest way to do it is to set up an array of all the letters of the alphabet. Iterate over the string getting each character. Look it up in the array, and then get the next one, and add that to an output StringBuffer. When you have reached the end of the input string, toString() the StringBuffer, and you are done.
Fundamentally, programming is all about breaking problems up. If you try and look at everything at once you will either go mad, or not be able to cope.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

I have put my head phone jack surcuely in but it's not making much sound. I have turned it up the whole way but it only gives me a tiny whiny little bit of sound. It only does this if I push it really far into my ear!!! Help!
I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.

Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.

Footage fades a little bit half way through interview, how do I fix?

I'm working on a Doc that has interviews with Celebrities, one of the interviews is with Linda Evans and about half way through the interview the lighting fades a little bit. It's just a gradual fade, happens over 10-15 frames, but it wasn't me that did it. Perhaps the camera man changed the Aperture or someone dimmed the lights. Either way, it's noticeable and I was tasked with fixing it. Ugh!

MattyAPply the 'brightness and contrast' filter to the clip. then go into the clip and you should be able to keyframe the filter. (I don't have my mac in front of me to verify, sorry)
Another way is to use the blade to cut the clip right where it starts to fade. APply the brightness and contrast filter to the darker part, brighten it up a bit and if you fiddle just right you can adjust the brightness seamlessly.
Another cheaters way could be to cut to any B roll or another angle during the fade. Depending on how dramatic it is people may not even notice the difference, or you can make any alterations and they won't see them because they won't be able to remember just how bright it was before. -
I need a little bit of guidance.
My plan is to make a PKGBUILD, but I've ran into a few snags. I'm trying to make PKGBUILD for ToME-223-src (Troubles of Middle Earth). But first I want to compile and install it locally so I'll have a good idea of how to make the PKBUILD right and to test it for awhile. So the PKGBUILD is something later on to worry about.
I have a bit of delimma. For some reason, the developer(s) of this game have the binary for it to use suid (I'm not sure their reasoning since I'm not a very experience programmer). Fortunately, in the makefile, it uses the variable OWNER=games by default. This is what is responsible for setting the ownership of all of the files when "make install" is ran appearantly. This presents a few challenges.
When you get to the point of where you make install it, it's install rule wants to recursively run chown on all the files being installed like a nice and tidy makefile does. So if you're not logged in as root when you do the "make install" it gets choked up a bit and doesn't copy/install all the files. So a regular user account doesn't generally have needed privileges to run chown and it has to be assumed when someone is going to install my tentative package they won't either.
Another delimma is that since it wants to utilize suid, this creates the necessity of a regular user account to be the owner of these files (I don't like the idea of this game running with root privileges personally). We don't want root ownership on whatever files have their suid bit set I would think. So this will require the making of the appropriate user. Again, this usually requires high enough privileges by the person building.
This of course could be solved by using useradd in the build function, and the having builder being logged on as root when they makepgk, but I really don't like that nor feel it's a very kosher approach.
Any idea of how I can come up with an elegant solution to this? How is this sort of situation normally handled with ABS?If a package needs chown on install, or a new user created, this is typically done in the .install script. When pacman installs the pakcage, the .install script is run as root.
Based purely on your description, my suggestion would be to skip the make install stage, and use install commands in the PKGBUILD to put the files in the right places. In the .install script, create the required user and associated permissions.
