Could someone please explain the difference between 3g and cellular please.  Many thanks.

Please could someone explain the difference between an i pad with wi fi + 3g and wi fi + cellular, thank you

Older iPads got 3G service and were called Wi-Fi + 3G. Newer iPads can connect to faster cellular networks and those are given different names by the major carrier so to simplify things Apple calls the newer models Wi-Fi + Cellular.
iPads with 3G or Cellular are NOT used like a mobile phone. They do not make phone calls or send SMS or MMS text messages, They do connect to the data network and can connect to the web.

  • Can someone explain the difference between TIER_WEB and TIER_WEBDEV

    Hi All,
We have two sets of values in Context file as below.
    <TIER_ADWEB oa_var="s_isAdWeb">NO</TIER_ADWEB>
    <TIER_ADFORMS oa_var="s_isAdForms">NO</TIER_ADFORMS>
    <TIER_ADFORMSDEV oa_var="s_isAdFormsDev">NO</TIER_ADFORMSDEV>
    <TIER_ADWEBDEV oa_var="s_isAdWebDev">NO</TIER_ADWEBDEV>
Could you explain the difference between
    TIER_WEB and TIER_WEBDEV
    and
    TIER_ADFORMS and TIER_ADFORMSDEV

These values in a shared APPL_TOP system. Pl see ML Doc 745580.1 (Apply Patches in a Shared Application Tier File System Environment) for an explanation. Not necessarily in Shared APPL_TOP, even in traditional multi-node installation you will find these values in the application context file.
I never came across any document which describes the difference between TIER_WEBDEV and TIER_WEB, I just can say that these variables always have the same value.

  • Please give the  diagrams to explain the difference between MVC1 and MVC2

Please give the functional diagrams to explain the difference between MVC1 and MVC2

there is no MVC1 or MVC2, only the MVC pattern. The implementation of the MVC is fairly open-ended and there are some variations that are not named as different "versions" because each variation still has the same pattern: there is a model, there are views and there are controllers. What you list as a "feature" of MVC2 in your other post:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=719812&tstart=0
is merely the implementation of a front controller (becoming more popular nowadays) in stead of using multiple controllers. There is no change in pattern, only in implementation.

  • Could someone tell me the differences between ipod 4g released in January and the new iPod 4g released other than iOS5 ?

I just bought an iPod touch from NewEgg which said it was the latest iPod. When I opened it, I couldn't find iMessage. So when I checked the version, it was 4.3.5. Just want to know the differences between both iOS5 and earlier one, other than of course the OS. Wondering whether to return it or upgrade the OS to iOS5.

The OS really is the only different thing.
An iPod Touch 4th generation will still be an iPod Touch 4th generation no matter what OS you have running on it.
If you want to know more of the feature of iOS 5 then you can check here: http://www.apple.com/ios/.
You also don't need to return the product if you want the latest OS. You can do it yourself through iTunes.

  • Would someone tell me the difference between PS13 and Elements !

what are the differences between elements 13 and PS 13

I'm sure there's a link somewhere which lays out the differences explicitly.  But from a top level, Elements is a slimmed down version of Photoshop that is geared towards a quicker and easier user experience.  It has more "one click" options for optimizing color, reducing redeye, etc - the main, basic edits that most people want to do to their photos.   Photoshop, on the other hand, is an advanced photo editor and comes with a learning curve; it's designed to be a full fledged digital editor from the "film" photographer, to the digital artist, compositors, layout, etc.  Even basic edits can be difficult to figure out until you know your way around the program.  It' more powerful, but more difficult to learn.  That said, some people don't want to spend the time learning it, they just want some basic, quick editing tools.
I can't remember the list off the top of my head, but Elements had a couple restrictions that made it a non-starter for me.  First and foremost, Elements won't let you edit multiple layers in 16 bits.  Something that won't affect many, but for any high level compositing it's a not go.  On top of that, they removed features like the pen tool, paths, curves, channels, smart objects, etc.  These probably don't mean anything to you, but to those of use that use PS these are the basic building blocks of our work.

CPM_IDX                           6.59375 2.86303711Your 1st query will hold true only for datafiles which are AUTOEXTENSIBLE, because the table SYS.FILEXT$ holds entry for those file_ids (datafiles) which has AUTOEXTENSIBLE as YES in DBA_DATA_FILES. If all your datafiles of all tablespaces are AUTOEXTENSIBLE (YES), then you should get entry like
    CPM_DAT 10240 5500 4740 46 %.
Now, maxspace is calculated as sum((((8192*maxextend)/1024)/1024)) from table SYS.FILEXT$. maxextend signifies the maximum number of blocks that a file_id (datafile) can extend upto. That is, as the datafile is AUTOEXTENSIBLE, it has been allocated a minimum extend initially and then it can INCREMENT BY some particular EXTENTs until it reach MAX EXTENTS. So, this maxentend denote the same. Now if your database is using 8K block size (show parameter DB_BLOCK_SIZE), then we can get the maximum size of the datafile it can grow upto by using 8192*maxextend, and converted to MB (/1024/1024).
USEDSPACE and SIZE_GB calculated sam way using SUM(BYTES) from dba_data_files, just one is in MB and another in GB.
FREESPACE in 1st query is calculated as MAXSPACE - USEDSPACE, that is, space available for the file_id(datafile) to grow until reached maxextend. That is, we can guarantee that the datafile will not throw error until this value is reached and can be used out of the operating system disk space. It doesn't signify the free space for the datafile available in DB. FREE_GB in 2nd query signifies that.
    % FREE is usual.

Firefox, Chrome and Internet explorer are all types of Browser; for use (mainly) on the internet, other modern browsers are Safari & Opera.
Just to confuse things slightly, Windows Explorer, is the name of the software that is usually used to look at content (files & folders) on Windows PCs.

    Hi people,
Could u just tel me abt what is the difference between ABAP and HR-ABAP?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sanjeev K.V

    Hi Sir ,
Please have a look below .Hope it is suitable and simpler solution for your question.
    Please do reward if useful.
    Thankx.
HR deals with the INFOTYPES which are similar to Tables in General ABAP.
There are different ways of fetching data from these infotypes.
There are different areas in HR LIKE Personal Admn, Orgn Management, Benefits, Time amangement, Event Management, Payroll etc
Infotypes for these areas are different from one another area.
storing of records data in each type of area is different
LDBS like PNP are used in HR programing.
Instead of Select.. we use some ROUTINES and PROVIDE..ENDPROVIDE.. etc
and in the case of Pay roll we use Clusters and we Import and Export them for data fetching.
On the whole Normal ABAP is different from HR abap.
    Also,

Time Related Infotypes start with PA2000 to PA2999.
Orgn related Infotypes start with HRP1000 to HRP1999.
All custom developed infotypes stsrat with PA9000 onwards.
In payroll processing we use Clusters like PCL1,2,3 and 4.
Instead of Select query we use PROVIDE and ENDPROVIDE..
You have to assign a Logical Database in the attributes PNP.
Go through the SAp doc for HR programming and start doing.

    Few notes are below:
    InfoSets in the HR Application
You can use SAP Query in HR to report on HR data. Queries are maintained as described in Creating Queries. The special features of queries created for HR are described in Maintaining Queries in the Human Resources Application. The maintenance procedure for HR InfoSets differs from the described procedure inasmuch as HR data fields are grouped together in infotypes.
InfoSet management in SAP Query is also used for InfoSet Query. For further information, see Functions for Managing InfoSets.
If you want to create InfoSets for HR, you can use logical databases PNP, PNPCE, PAP, and PCH (see HR Logical Databases). The database you must use to create your InfoSet depends on the component in which the data you want to report on is stored.
The reports you can execute using InfoSets based on logical databases PNP (or PNPCE) or PCH are similar, but differ in that they can select different objects. The following table describes the connection between the logical database, and the infotypes you can include in an InfoSet. It also provides you with one or two examples of reports that you can execute using the appropriate InfoSets.
    Logical database PNP/PNPCE* PCH PAP
Selection of Persons Objects from Personnel Planning Applicants
Infotypes that can be included in the InfoSet Infotypes for· Personnel Administration (0000-0999) · Time Management (2000-2999) · Payroll infotypes · Infotypes for Personnel Planning objects that can be related to persons If the object type is specified:· Infotypes for the object type · Infotypes for objects that can be related to the specified object typeIf the object type is not specified:· All infotypes · Infotypes for Recruitment (4000-4999)· Some infotypes for Personnel Administration (such as 0001 and 0002)
    · Customer infotypes
Reporting examples · Selection of all persons who participated in a specific business event, output of prices for reserved business events · Selection of all persons assigned to a specific personnel area, output of qualifications held by these persons · Selection of all business events held in London in March, output of all persons who participated in these business events · Selection of all positions assigned to a specific organizational unit, output of all persons assigned to the positions · Selection of all applicants hired last year to work on special projects, output of addresses for the applicants selected
Logical database PNPCE (PNP Concurrent Employment) functions just like logical database PNP. The procedure for creating InfoSets is also the same. It only becomes significant if you work with Concurrent Employment.
    Creating InfoSets
The maintenance procedure for HR InfoSets differs from the procedure described so far in this section inasmuch as HR data fields are grouped together in infotypes. To set up an InfoSet for the HR application, proceed as follows:
    1. On the initial screen for maintaining InfoSets, enter a name for the InfoSet and choose Create.
    2. On the next screen, enter a name for the InfoSet and select one of the HR logical databases in accordance with your reporting requirements.
Customer infotypes can be created on all HR logical databases. In each individual case, therefore, you must decide which database to select so that you can report on customer infotypes.
This screen enables you to enter an authorization group. All of the queries that are subsequently created using this InfoSet can only be executed by persons who have this authorization group.
    3. Choose .
This takes you to the Infotype Selection for InfoSet  screen. You now have the option of creating field groups and assigning fields as required for non-HR InfoSets. Field groups that correspond to infotypes and already contain fields, however, are always created for HR InfoSets. The field groups are displayed in an overview tree in the top right section of the screen.
The infotypes that you included in the InfoSet are displayed in an overview tree on the left of the screen. The infotype fields that are already included in field groups are displayed in a different color, and the corresponding field group ID is displayed.
In the standard system, a field group is created automatically for each infotype that you included in the InfoSet (a field group corresponds to an infotype).
In the standard system, each field group contains the infotype-specific fields. To ensure that working with the InfoSet is as easy as possible, you are advised to restrict your use of fields in each field group to those you really require. This means you should remove fields that are not required.
An infotype's fields must only be assigned to the pertinent field group. Make sure this assignment is correct. If the assignment is incorrect, the InfoSet could be rendered unusable.
When an InfoSet is created, the following fields are transferred automatically to the first field group:
§ Logical database PNPCE or PNP Personnel number
§ Logical database PAP Applicant number
§ Logical database PCH Object ID, plan version, and object type
    6. Determine the fields that must be included in the field groups of your InfoSet. If you require further information, see Assigning Fields to a Field Group.
If you want, you can change the default sequence of field groups and fields as required using Drag&Drop.
    7. To save the InfoSet, choose .
    8. To generate the InfoSet, choose .
On the Change InfoSet (InfoSet name) screen, you can choose Edit ® Change infotype selection to add more infotypes to the InfoSet, or to remove infotypes from the InfoSet. Remember to regenerate the InfoSet afterwards.
This screen also enables you to update InfoSets if, for example, the system contains new additional fields for specific key values. To do so, choose InfoSet ® Additional functions ® Update additional HR fields.
    9. Go back to the initial screen for InfoSet maintenance.
    10. Choose User group assignment.
    11. Select a user group, and save your entry.
    sample code
    START-OF-SELECTION.

  • What is the difference between ntp and ctssd ?

    hello everyone
could you please describe the difference between ntp and ctssd? which one should be used?
    thanks
    John

ntp is OS level service which synchronize the system clock with a remote server over the Network Time Protocol (NTP).
CSSD  oracle  processes (Cluster Services Synchronization Daemon) monitor the health of RAC nodes employing two distinct heart beats: Network heart beat and Disk heart beat. Healthy nodes will have continuous network and disk heartbeats exchanged between the nodes.

  • What is the difference between skewness and cardinlaity

Can any one explain the difference between skewness and cardinlaity.
    Thanks

cardinality means the distinct values in a column and skewness means how the data is spreaded according to those distinct values. Means Let say there are 100 rows in a table and the distinct values are 2 i.e. 1 and 0. This distinct values are the cardinality and in this case cardinality is low. Now let say out of 100 records there are 99 1s and 1 0s, or 50 1s and 50 0s, this shows how the data is spreaded and this is skewness.
