I could sell SAP B1 to a prospect if someone could help me put together a solution. In essence this distrubtor picks up fresh fruits and vegetables as cases, cartons, boxes, eaches etc, but nothing is barcoded. This prospect is losing money, he does not know if some items were distributed and not invoiced, or if few boxes fell down and got destroyed or for that matter stolen etc.
Can someone experienced propose a suitable solution to handle this?
a) Is there an elegant iPAD based web application that has nice pictures drawn like vegetables, fruits they are click and enter a weight or boxes or some unit that gets transofrmed into daily purchase orders on SAP B1?
b) Any audio that we can talk into and gets converted into SAP B1 purchase records?
At the end of the day, he wants to reconcile the inventory and invoices etc. I believe, if the purchase data is input then rest of the things are easy. He sure is frustrated with lack of control he has now as he does not see the big picture.
What do you suggest? how to handle it?
Please provide me with an add on and integration software that would be necessary to put it all together.

If POS is not needed then fine. The handsets or terminals try the below that will best suit. you can store the data and then load this into your system.

Older iPads got 3G service and were called Wi-Fi + 3G. Newer iPads can connect to faster cellular networks and those are given different names by the major carrier so to simplify things Apple calls the newer models Wi-Fi + Cellular.
iPads with 3G or Cellular are NOT used like a mobile phone. They do not make phone calls or send SMS or MMS text messages, They do connect to the data network and can connect to the web.

On one server, Jar.exe is installed where we have JRE 1.3. Is the jar.exe apart of JRE 1.4? If so, where do I find the jar.exe file? If it's not part of JRE 1.4, what do I need to do to get the jar.exe onto the server where JRE 1.4 is installed?

I know that a jar file is like a zip file but I'm asking, "Can you download just the jar.exe without downloading the JDK?"
I keep reading everywhere that you can only get the jar.exe tool if you download the JDK but I can't use JDK(because it is a compiler) on our website here at work.

The jar tool isn't part of the jre but the jdk. You should find it on your server in %ORACLE_HOME%\jdk\bin (seems you use some kind of Windows).

Could someone please help with two differences between CS and CS4?

Hello, I just moved from Photoshop CS to CS4 and have a couple of questions regarding some differences I'm seeing in the two versions.
(1) When opening files, I'm used to them opening in a smaller view as individual windows. CS4 opens all images in the expanded view. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I create massive sports photo galleries (often more than 100 images) and usually open 25-30 images at a time, then minimize all images and work on them one at a time in chronological order. The was CS4 opens these images in full screen mode, it prevents me from doing this in a timely manner - PS never opens a group of photos up in a true chrono order. It misplaces the first image to the end.
(2) In CS, I used to be able to Right-Mouse-Click on the image's title bar to change Image and Canvas sizes. Any way to get this to work in CS4? CTL+ALT and either I or C is a three-key process and takes considerably longer than right clicking my mouse and choosing the correct option.

You are a life saver. Thanks! I looked in the INTERFACE area about three times and never understood that TABBED meant that it was opening them full screen.
Any idea how to deal with question #2? Cannot set up an ACTION for this as the action makes me have to choose an image size. I just want to have the Image or Canvas size windows open with one click, rather than holding down three keys.

A SOAP message will be bundled inside the soap envelope.HTTP is not an adapter in adapter engine whereas soap is an adapter i.e, HTTP doesn't require a communication channel where as SOAP requires.You can send soap messages using some SOAP client.
SOAP Adapter is used to xchange SOAP messages bw remote clients and webservices....

HTTP adapter is used when you want to post a HTTP request message from a web application to XI.
How can i make use of SOAP Sender Adapter without using any tools like XML Spy etc....
XML SPy is used as a TEST tool when you are sending SOAP information to XI. TO actually send data , you need to configure a webservice and construct a SOAP request message and post the data .
we use SOAP adapter when we need to connect to remote system or use Webservices in these cases we use SOAP adapter.
HTTP Adapter is used by extenal systems to connect to Intergartin server using native HTTP Interface.
the http adapter is a service which is directly connected to integration engine. Adapter Framework (Java) isnt involved. It is much more performant than SOAP adapter.
The SOAP adapter is written in Java and is responsible for the SOAP envelope around the real XML message. You can build/remove that envelope as well in the mapping and use instead http adapter. But standard for webservices is using SOAP adapter.

Solution to handle Re-furbished / Repaired Material

Dear MM Gurus
I would be really greatful if someone gives the solution to handle Re-furbished / Repaired Material in Inventory Management, as per below scenario :
1. We have implemented Inventory Management Module on SAP ERP2005 ECC6.0.
2. We have big volume of Spares for maintenance in our Inventory within the stores for examples: Electric motors, pumps, Values etc. (bulk quantity)
3. Whenever these items e.g. electric motors, pumps or values becomes faulty, then
    (a) these faulty Pumps/Motors are returned to stores department by maintenance dept
    (b) A new pump/Motor is issued to the maintenance department for replacement
4. The Old/Faulty Motors/Pumps are sent outside to vendors for repair / refurbishment.
5. The same item after repaired / refurbished is received by us from vendor.
Problems being faced by us :
Now problems is how to handle the complete scenario e.g. receiving of fault material back to stores (2) Sending these item to outside vendors for repair (3) issue of PO to vendor for repair (4) Receipt of repaired items from Vendors (5) Payment to vendor (6) Tracking of complete process.
Solution Required
(a) System should maintain the stock separately for refurbished material e.g. refurbished
     Motors / Pumps against same Original material code with separate-separate quantities
    and values. We don't want to create separate codes for New and repaired item.
(b) System should provide the separate stock for same items separately i.e.
     (1) For New Material
     (2) For refurbished Material with separate valuations i.e. stock value.
     (3) Material lying with vendor(s) for repairs
(c) While issuing, system should keep a track of material i.e. either new material is
      Issued or against the repaired/refurbished.
(d) Moreover the issue/consumption value should be different according to the use of
      Material i.e. for new material (motors/Pumps) and refurbished material
(e) System should give us the stock list separately for both New & repaired materials
     and with vendor(s) along with its value.
Kindly advise us SAP Best Practice/Practical solution for the above mentioned problem. This is to be noted that we don't have PM Module implemented with us.

Is "Split Valuation" the only solution to handle refurbrished items because at this moment it is difficult to implement this solution
due to following reasons :
1. We have more than 9000 mtrl for this category
2. To implement split valuation we have to stock-out these materials,since to activate this there should not be any stock.
3. Then we have to activate the split-valuation against each such types of materials.
4. after that we have to do stocks-in for these materials.
5. We are on SAP from more than 3 years now.
Hence it would be a practical problem for us to go for SPLIT VALUATION.
I would appreciate if you can suggest us another suitable solution

In profiler you would normally see RPC:Starting and RPC:Completed. The statement shown in RPC staring is what you need to pick because as Erland explained, completed would show "funky" behavior.

b) operating system
c) application (i.e. Logic)
b) sub program's (i.e. plugins)
could all together trigger the cause.
So a lot more info would certainly help us to make some sort of intelligent guess.
