Could spyware be filling up my harddrive?

I have an iMac whose harddrive keeps filling up even when I'm not doing anything on the computer. I've deleted more than 10 gb of memory a few times and the drive just keeps inexplicibly filling up. I'm running Sophos Anti-Virus now, but it hasn't found anything. Does anyone have theories on what could be going on?

Hi,
I have a problem during the transport of an infoobject with master data. There are some fields time dependent and some other not. The transport goes in error with the following message:
"The attibutes SID table(s) could not be filled"
I tried to reactivate the infoobject but nothing changes.
Any ideas?

I have again this error. I have an inconsistent master data in quality environment (the 2 SID tables P and Q are empty). When I transport the infoobject in quality without modifications, transport is ok. When I add a NAVIGABLE attribute, the transport goes in error and the message:
"The attibutes SID table(s) could not be filled"
is shown. Does anyone know if there exist a method for regenerate the sid tables? (I mean the values contained in the sid tables).
Or I am obligate to delete the master data values?

Can I make a form that could be emailed filled out and returned

I'd like to create a form that I can email my students and that they could fill out and return.
Is there a site or video that could help me learn this?

Not in Pages, except to create the basic form itself.
The best method is create a pdf form, using Acrobat Pro to fill in the data fields of the form.
The students can use the free Acrobat Reader to fill in the fields, which you can have sent electronically back to you or whatever database you want, or as a simple dumb form that accepts their typing.
To have a quiz style multiple choice document, that even corrects and sums up results use iBooks [free], very similar to Pages, or a dedicated application for this style of work.

The attributes SID table(s) could not be filled

I am trying to change an attribute to a navigational attribute for 0MAT_PLANT and I am receiving this error upon activation. I have tried the following:
1) Deleting Master Data and reactivating
2) Program RSDMD_CHECKPRG_ALL
3) Activating in the background
4) Fill Attribute SID Table
When I try to fill the attribute SID table, I get a SQL error.
SQL Error: "/BI03503" in R3DBWDATA type *FILE not found. MSGI D= Job=753132/DBW00/WP14
Can someone tell me how to correct this error?

Likely there was data in these tables, and DB system can't adjust the table with changes you have done.
If you can, try dropping all master data for the IOBJ and then reactivate.
If this doesn't work or is not feasible, identify which table is having this issue (/BIxxxx), display it in SE11, go to utilities-->Database object --> Database utility; on the next screen try to do a Activate and Adjust Database (first with save data, and if unsuccessful then with Delete data option).

We are trying to uplaod data to LSUPPLIER from R/3,we noticed that one piece of code was not working fine and had edited the code and replicated the Datsasource in BI.When I trigger the load Via UI I get the data to PSA succefully but when the program runs to write the data to the infoobject Supplier I encounter the above status in UI.I tried deleteing the Master data completly from the table of the infoobjects but nothign is achived.
Can someone please suggest what can be the issue?

Making Dvds seems to be filling up my harddrive

seems when i burn a dvd it takes up more space my HD. does it render the files somewhere that i have to delete?

The way to handle that is to store your projects on an external hard drive. They are relatively cheap these days. I save my projects as a disk image, that uses relatively little disk space, and store the disk image on an external drive.
But if you don't want to store your projects, you can simply drag the project icon to the trash, and empty. Gone forever.

My Photo Stream filling up my work harddrive?

In enabled My Photo Stream for my work computer to be able to pull off the occational work photo I take with my phone. With two small kids, we take a lot of family photos. Now seems to have 6 months of photo stream photos still on my work laptop. Isn't My Photo Stream supposed to remove the photos after 30 days? I am afraid to delete the photos as I don't want to lose family photos... Is there a setting I should use somewhere? Any recommendations? I thought that My Photo Stream would be a great solution to get the latest images on my laptop, but it's now filling up the harddrive with images. Help.

if you do not want to fill your Work Computer with Photo Stream images, disable the "Automatic Import" flag. Let "My Photo Stream" enabled. This way, you can decide, which of the photos you want to import manually from the Photo Stream. With Aotomatic Import enabled, iPhoto will automatically import all photos to monthly project, like "Apr 2014, Photo Stream". These photos have been downloaded from iCloud and are local copies. You can delete these automatic imports, if you have saved the photos elsewhere. Deleting the monthly projects will not remove them from the other computers, they have been imported to.

My MBPro webcam was taken over a few months ago and video was recorded of me without my knowledge. At the time I thought it was taken over from a website and was unaware of the potential of spyware that could be installed on my local harddrive. In just the last week I have reason to believe that there maybe a keylogger on my machine recording my writing in MS Word and otherwise. All of this is part of a greater and very serious stalking/harassment/surveilence threat I'm having to face down... So I'm in the process of overhauling my entire internet/Mac security set-up. I am thankful I'm on a Mac at least...

There is no known method for remotely accessing a modern Mac's webcam in this manner. Unless your Mac was one of a few specific models made in 2008 and earlier, which were found to have a webcam vulnerability, or unless you granted permission to a website that asked to access your webcam, it's not known to be possible to do what you say happened. A webcam hack would have to be delivered through malware or physical access to your Mac.

That sounds like a very common IP address conflict message, which occurs when one or more devices on your network are misconfigured. This is not indicative of any kind of hack, just a problem with the setup of your network. Probably, some device on your network is set to have a static IP address on your network, and that address is within the range of addresses reserved by the router to assign to devices that join the network. When your computer woke up, the router tried to assign it an address that should have been free, only to find that something was using it.
I believe I read that Maverick itself has a anti keylogger feature that scrambles all keys entered at the root level of the software to prevent a keylogger program from producing any readable output.
That's not something that I've ever heard of. I think you must have misinterpreted something, perhaps a story about address space layout randomization (ASLR), a security feature that randomizes data storage in RAM. ASLR has been in place in limited fashion in Mac OS X as far back as 10.5 (Leopard), and became system-wide in 10.8 (Mountain Lion). It would not protect you against a keylogger.
Mac OS X also has basic anti-malware protections built in, but that is also not new to Mavericks. See How does Mac OS X protect me?.

When you fill out a filled out form in Adobe Reader, it is saved automatically when you quit the app (unless you crash). You could email the filled form, and it will open correctly filled out on Reader or Acrobat on Mac or Windows. (Warning: It may not look like it got filled out if you view it in Mail, Dropbox, or another iOS app, but it will appear correctly in Reader or Acrobat.)

Save a filled-out form to Word - saved as blank

I purchased ExportPDF so that I could save a filled-out form to Word. I needed to do this because, though the form has fields that allow seemingly infinite text to be inserted, the text is not visible when printed. The document must be submitted by US Mail. When I converted the completed document to Word, it erased ALL of the text I added and unchecked all boxes. If this is all it can do, I need to unsubscribe and get a refund. That is totally worthless to me.

Harddrive problem?

my iMac (24 inch, the first of the metal cased imacs, 10.5.newest update) crashed yesterday (beachball, everything frozen) and i had to hold the power button to restart it. When it came back with was just stuck at the gray screen with the little spinning thing and the apple, and it just stayed there. I tried restarting it again to the same effect.
So i popped in my 10.5 disc and booted from the disc. when i ran Disk Utility it could not verify or repair the harddrive (invalid sibling link). so i looked it up online (using my wife's imac) and booted to single user and ran 'fsck_hfs -r /dev/disk0s2' and then 'fsck -fy' Both failed.
Then i decided to erase the drive and re-install 10.5 (i had my user/app data backed up via Time Machine on an external drive). The re-install went fine. the comp restarted and made me watch the Welcome movie. Then when it takes you through the set up stuff, there was an option to use your Time Machine back up to recover your user info and data. I tried this. It froze up after about 5 minutes (there was no change for over 30 minutes and the external HD went to sleep). So i restarted and had the same thing happen again.
After another restart i just had the set up program create a new user account and i was able to get through it (the set up). Everything looked okay and i was able to run safari. Then i went to time machine to bring back my files and after about 5 minutes it froze up again (beach ball, everything else frozen). I restarted was and was back to the beginning: having to boot from the CD and getting the 'Invalid Sibling Link' error in disk utility.
Now i have an appointment at the Genius Bar tomorrow morning (i should still be under apple care). Does this sound like a harddrive problem since it couldnt be repaired after a clean install? Is there anything else i should try before taking it in tomorrow?

Now your symptoms can just as easily be software as well as hardware.
To diagnose it further, you need to make sure your data is first backed up.
Several data recovery techniques exist if you need to use them first*:

What am I trying to do? Selecting fill areas?

I am at a roadblock searching for the proper terms to find tutorials for what I am seeking to learn
We own a construction company and I want the ability to do show the customer different colors of paint on their base, trim, gables doors and so on from a photo.Example: I want the ability to select the gable with polygonal tool(since most everything is straight lines) then hit shift and select the door and make this its own group.then move on to selecting all the trim, then the base color. Then if the customer does not like color selection I could easily just fill the "group(gable/door)" when i want.
What is the proper why to achieve this?

Start with a typical property JPG.
Open a layer above the JPG and fill with White
Add a Hue Saturation layer, and copy it as many times as you have different colours.
Select the Hue/Saturation layers and Group them.
Now you have the tricky job of matching each H/S layer to a colour. Turn off all the H/S layer except for one and check Colorize. (It would be easier if you have a Swatch Layer. Maybe scan the swatch and add it as a layer, and Free Transform so it fits in the corner of your image, and you can use it as a reference. )
Do this for each of the H/S layers, naming them accordingly, and turning on only the one you are working on.
You now have a group with all the colour options, so make a few copies of the group. (I don't suppose you use more than two or three different colours on the same property.)
Your layers panel will look something like this:
OK, so turn off the White layer. All of your groups should also be turned off. Use the Lasso tool together with Alt (Opt) to select an area, and with the selection place, add a layer mask to the first group. Twirl open a group, and turn on a colour, and the Swatch layer so you can adjust for lighting etc.
If you want to add to the layer mask, just make another selection and fill with white. I am sure you'll manage from there.
Save this document and use it as a master. Perhaps make it Read Only so you can't over write it. Now you have a template for all your jobs. It will be no problem Selecting All the groups, and using Free Transform to make them fit other property JPGs because there are no pixels.

Fill space in panel with GridBagLayout

I have a class that extends JPanel and uses a GridBagLayout.
I would like the contents of this panel to occupy the whole available space.
However, I don't find how to do it with GridBagLayout (I know this is automatically done with BorderLayout but I want to use GridBagLayout for organizing internal components).
I have this small program to show the problem.
In this example, how could the button fill all the available space with GridBagLayout?
Note that setting GridBagConstraints fill to BOTH doesn't solve the issue.

Function to "Fill" Data Values

Hello,
I have a requirement where the user will enter a paritcular data value on the data form for an intersection. This will be at a parent level. Once they enter it I need to fill in the SAME value for all of its children.
I am unable to find a function that I could use to FILL in the same value. Can anyone suggest me how can this be achieved?

I have this requirement in my current app: Users can enter leaf level data or parent level data at multiple levels. As I hate/fear/loathe the concept of target versions, what I did was programmatically create _input members as follows:

etc.
I did this for five generations and then threw attribute dimensions (five separate ones) against each one of the generations of the _input. In turn that drives the allocation input forms. And to make it just that little bit more convoluted, I created special versions to contain each one of the levels. There is method to this madness.
What I could then do is aggregate up each level input (remember, only Parent or Child or whatever could show up on the form and could thus get a total for all pool numbers without impacting the other input data. Then users (and managers who override numbers , sometimes) can run simple percent of total allocations against the parent member of the _input member with code that looks like this:

     ENDFIXThe way that FIX works is it goes after the parent of the member in the page dropdown and then excludes any of the _input members by using attributes. @MBRPARENT is key here because you can stick that in a FIX -- @PARENT has been around forever but was unusable in FIXes. Within the FIX it's a simple percent of parent allocation. I use @ANCESTVAL to get me the right number of levels up and yes I need separate BRs -- I should really stick them ito a macro and drive it off of a parameter. That's it -- slightly confusing but it works really well.
An alternative is to use the @ALLOCATE function and then drive the amount, range, etc. through a RTP but that was way to labor intensive for the users (not for me obviously) and I couldn't hold on to the data value in my app's context and that bugged me to no end.
As I read the above, it seems like sort of a complicated approach but really it isn't and it's quite fast. The code above is POC stuff so no, I don't really use members called "AllocateThis".

You could easily change the code above to simply agg up to the parent and then instead of spreading as percent of parent just assign the parent value.

Harddrive Broke down - replacement drive

My MacBook Pro 13 inch broke down, the harddrive.
i tried reformatting the harddrive, but no go. it wont let me reinstall a new os.
because i am not based in the us, i am going to have someone purchase a harddrive for me to have it installed here.
could someone please inform me what harddrive spec to purchase?
