Could this be another clue to the iphone 4s battery problem?
I have an iphone 4s on Sprint. My battery life is bad if I use any services at all, not just the reported time setting location service.
I have registered this phone in something that Sprint calls the Family Locator. I live in a hilly, rural neighborhood with just one accessible Sprint tower (and no other cell phone reception at all).
When I query the location of my Sprint iphone 4s, the accuracy is 1.4 miles. Horrible! When I query the location of my husband's Sprint phone, a basic non-smart Sanyo clamshell, in the same room, the accuracy is 57 yards. So, there must be something very weak in the response of the iphone4s to an external query. Extra resistance in the antenna, maybe? Or is the older non-smart phone a different frequency that can sense the weak signal from other towers (for location purposes) from farther away?
I'm totally at a loss here. Any other ideas?

I had the same issue even right after updating it to the latest IOS version 5.0.1 in which was supposed to be the fix for this dilemma. Anyhow, I was able to resolve it by simply disabling "Push" for Mail, Contacts and iCloud under "Settings" or setting it to "Manual". Aside from that if you wish to set it to "Manual", go to "Adanced" under the same sub-menu then set every option to "Manual" as well.
It somehow worked for me and I hope this works for you too. This fix somehow will be for those users who don't usually check their mails via 3g or Wifi. You would only find out that the fix did work when you notice the "Standby Time" and the "Usage TIme" is no longer the same after a couple of minutes from a full charge.

Tried to copy a movie from my iTunes account to my iPhone and keep getting this message……. iTunes could not copy "L.A." to the iPhone "Michael's iPhone" because of a timeout occurred.
I completely understand what is happening. I know that you are connected to the Internet. I made the suggestion because I have seen it work in similar circumstances. The Apple iTunes servers can be a bit fussy about things and sometimes rebooting the router clears up this miscommunication between iTunes and your network.
Have you tried signing into your account and then try to sync again. Go to Store>View Account. You will have to enter your password. Then try to sync again. Or try signing out completely in Store>Sign out. Quit iTunes, sign in again and then try to sync again.
Sometimes refreshing settings will help clear up weird problems. -
It's about time i posted something about my problem because i've searched everywhere and I did not get the answer i wanted.
When i try to put a song (Drag and Drop) from my Library to my Iphone, the message "iTunes could not copy "insert song" to the iphone "insert name of iphone" because the file could not be read" shows up. I have no idea how to fix this, I haven't seen apple answer to a single one of these threads either.
I've only seen users try to answer this question.
Anyways, when i put the songs on my Iphone, it is also grayed out. There is also a dotted circle (symbol) beside the checkmark of the song.
I've tried creating a AAC version of all the songs already. No luck

Check your source hard drive for errors, right-click on the drive holding the library, click Properties, tools, check for errors, scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors...

Repair Security Permissions
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.
If it won't let you change the permissions use the Owner tab to take ownership from an account with administrator privileges.

I have a shuffle. When I plug it into Itunes, it tells me that it has not been ejected properly, and it will not recognize the Ipod. I have turned off the computer, and tried this with another shuffle with the exact same results. Any ideas?
Do you remeber the exact (or close to it) wording of the error message?
Try manually placing the iPod in Recovery mode and then try to restore
Next try DFU mode.

Can anyone help me to solve this issue ? relly its a major problmiTunes is running into a conflict between mail account information already on your iPhone and the accounts you are trying to sync.
Connect your iPhone to your computer. In the Advanced section under the Info tab, check the box next to "Mail Accounts". This will replace the mail account info on your iPhone with the accounts you are trying to sync.
If this does not work, then reset your sync history by opening the iSync application, going into the preferences, and clicking Reset Sync History. -

<Edited by Host>Look at your receipt. Does it say unlocked? It is possible to purchase both locked "sim free" and unlocked iPhones from Apple.
ONLY the carrier an iPhone is locked to can legitimately unlock it.
IF your receipt says that it was supposed to be unlocked, and it is not, call AppleCare. They should be able to straighten it out. -

1) Is it a video clip? Something you recognize? To be clear, it's displaying at a point in your exported movie but doesn't appear at all in the sequence?

How to use an SSD with your HDD
If you are going to use an SSD as a boot drive together with your existing HDD as the "data" drive, here's what you can do.
After installing the SSD you will need to partition and format the SSD using Disk Utility. Then, install OS X on the SSD. After OS X has been installed boot from the SSD. Use Startup Disk preferences to set the SSD as the startup volume.
Open Users & Groups preferences. Click on the lock icon and authenticate. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on your user account listing in the sidebar and select Advanced Options from the context menu.
You will see a field labeled "Home dir:" At the right end you will see a Change button. Click on it. In the file dialog locate the Home folder now located on the HDD (HDD/Users/account_name/.) Select the folder, click on Open button. Restart the computer as directed.
When the computer boots up it will now be using the Home folder located on the HDD.
Another more technical method involving the Terminal and aliases is discussed in depth here: Using OS X with an SSD plus HDD setup - Matt Gemmell. This is my preferred approach because I can select which of the Home's folders I want on the HDD and which I don't want. For example, I like to keep the Documents and Library folders on the SSD because I access their content frequently.
Be sure you retain the fully bootable system on your HDD in case you ever need it.
Just apply this to your situation where the HDD is your internal drive, and the SSD is the boot volume. You can copy the applications from the HDD folder to the one on the SSD. You probably will want to do the same with the /Home/Library/ folder. -

If you don't have a SIM card in the phone, you must put one in. It's required for activation.
If you do, then your phone was probably hacked to unlock it from the original carrier. Contact them and see if they will unlock it. If they will not do so, then you can't use that phone.
