Couldn't Activate Face Time on iMac

I have bought an iMac since August 10th, & want to activate Face Time with my Apple ID, but still can't until now. I have tried so many times, but still cannot. What should I do?? What's wrong ?? There is No Problem with my Internet Connection, because I still can use Internet for browsing on iMac. I Need Expert's Advice for this problem. Thanks.

My computer auto logs into F/Time when I open the App.. The Page is 50% image (left side) & 50% a list of all your contacts..L

" the Username or password was incorrect Try again "
knowing I'm sure that e-mail and password are correct , I use them every day to download programs ,I also use the same apple id for face time & iMessage on my iPhone & my mac !!!

How to activate Face Time in india at idea network

Dear Sir,
I have iphone 4 original. i want to activate face time in india on idea network. But always said not successfull. How to activate the face time i connected the to wifi also. I there other way to activate facetime on iphone4.

I have won the battle.
right let me tell you what i did and in what order.
First i restored my Ipad 2 to original factory settings, backing up content so i lost nothig.
then i reset my router, this caused me a few probs as i am not that computer savvy and i needed netgear to help me re configure my router.
after a long conversation with apple we came to the conclusion that the passwords were causing the problem.
i spent time explaining to them that when i originally set up my itunes account and then my mobile me account there were no stipulations regarding numbers and capitals in passwords, hence when i got my IPAD my passwords were not "appropriate" even though they were working fine.
I decided to reset ALL my passwords associated with I tunes, mobile me and addle ID to the correct requirements which are; at least 8 figures with at least 1 number and a capital.
I then reset my DNS code on my IPAD to 8.8.8.8
(go to WIFI settings, touch arrow to right of your network and change DNS code)
and voila, it worked.
I would try and sort all passwords out to correct requirements ( one number, one capital the rest can be lower case). then change your DNS code, then try face time.
if that doesnt work then it may be a case of restoring factory settings on your IPad and resetting the router.
I appreciate how frustrating this is as they are not cheap.

Face Time on iMac seems to work really well for a "beta". Does anyone know why it can recieve a call to it's email address but wants to dial out to a phone number? I guess I will have to play with it some more? This is a fantastic addition to the Face Time family of products Apple supports.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

You will NEVER be able to activate FaceTime on that phone. FaceTime is restricted from the phone on a hardware level.

By the very fact that you cannot get FaceTime on the phone would suggest that it has originated from a Middle Eastern country.
If you want FaceTime on your phone, then your only option is to buy a new phone from a country that does not ban FaceTime such as the UK or USA.

I tried to sign in to activate face time for 1st time, w/correct apple ID

We have tried to activate our face time account for two days now, and have been unsuccessful. The Apple ID and the password are both correct. We have checked using the iPad, and were able to sign in and use it. The iMac says "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." We are able to use Safari, browse, and check email, and all lights on router seem to be okay. Can anyone give us a suggestion as to what we are doing wrong? We cannot go in and change preferences or check settings as it is not highlighted to be able to do so. Thanks for any words of advise. We are stuck!

I can't say why it should be doing this. If it persists then your only options are to set it up on another Mac or iOS device if you can (then you will be able to sign into it), or failing that to contact Support - though I don't know how helpful they are likely to be.

However, it seems that her iMac Face Time seems to be the same as my iPhone. When I use it to call my iPhone, it doesn't ring. I get missed calls on my iPhone as well as making a call. How can I get hers to be seperate from my iPhone?
