Couldn't be found on the server

I am trying to update my Mac Pro and this message keeps coming up: The file “SecUpd2013-002.pkg” couldn’t be found on the server “swcdn.apple.com”.   I have updated my Mac many times and never had this problem before! Help!

Hi there alysha.perreault!
I have a couple links for you to help get that security update downloaded. These are links that you can use which are direct from Apple and will help you if you can't download your updates from the "Software Update" section on your computer or from the App Store "updates" section. There are three different link for each operating system from Snow Leopard up to Mountain Lion, and they can be found here:
Security Update 2013-002 (Snow Leopard)
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1660
Security Update 2013-002 (Lion)
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1661
OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo)
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1659
Just FYI, if you are using Mountain Lion, the security update will be included in the 10.8.4 Combo update. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

Braden

  • Error message "... could not be found on the server."

    I have been subscribed to a podcast for 3 years. I received an error message for that subscription recently stating,
    "There was a problem downloading "Civil War Podcast by Dr. James Robertson Jr. from WVTF. The URL http://www.wvtf.org/news_and_notes/feeds/wvtf_cw_rss.php could not be found on the server."
    Something else that may or may not be related, for months I haven't been able to find this specific podcast in the iTunes store when I search for it. However, my iTunes continued to download current podcasts.
    What does this mean?

    I believe WVTF changed the podcast feed URL. I went to their website http://www.wvtf.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=44 &Itemid=160&limitstart=5 and got the feed URL and entered it directly under Advanced -> Subscribe to Podcast. The URL I used is http://www.wvtf.org/index.php?option=com_podcast&view=feed&format=raw
    Good luck, Chris

    I am not able to go to the facebook site. www.facebook.com is not working. I get the following error message. 404 Error - Not Found
    The resource you have requested could not be found on the server. There are many possible reasons for this. Either the file does not exist, there is an error in your request, or the file is not accessible in the requested directory. Please verify that:
    * You have used the proper case; requests ARE case-sensitive!
    * You have entered the URL correctly. (i.e. proper directory/filename)
    * You used the FULL URL. (i.e. proper file type: .html, .gif , .jpg, etc.)
    * You use a tilde (~) before user directories. (i.e. www.furcen.org/~jurann/ )
    * The user/file still exists on this server.
    I also get redirected to "Busca Google" when typing www.facebook.com in the address bar.

    I have the same problem and it does not have to do with firefox. Do you have any idea how to fix it through?

  • The URL "^0" could not be found on the server.

    I am new at all of this so forgive me for my lack of knowledge on ipods. I just got a new ipod 30GB and just purchased a movie on iTunes. I tried to download it but said "There was a problem downloading". The URL "^0" could not be found on the server. Don't know what this means. Can anyone help me out on this? Thanks
      Other OS

    I get that every now and then when making a purchase at iTunes store. What I usually do is reorder the product and iTunes acknowledges that an attempt has been made, that it will retry the download. However that was iTunes 6...I cannot say the same for iTunes 7 (which as you know is full of bugs).
    ITUNES 7 IPOD RESTORE
    iTunes 7 seems not to come with the iPod updater in the installation package and the restore program as well. Apple forces you to have an online connection. One of my computers has no internet connection and if I try to restore my iPod, all I get is an error. APPLE JUST SCREWED UP EVERYTHING WITH ITUNES 7.

  • Err 404 The URL could not be found on the server

    I attempted to purchase a song and got this error message, error 404 the URL could not be found on the server. Now every time I download any song, it attempts to find the song and gives me the same error message. I don't care if I lose the song. I would just like to make it stop trying to download it.
    Any ideas?

    I've the same problem, and I've reported for the problem, but I received an non-reply, such as "do you have a good internet connection?", etc...
    When I start iTunes, it ask me for my iTunes Store password, then it try to download the missing file I have buyed, but always with the same error message: There was a problem downloading "Fool to Cry / Sucking In the Seventies / The Rolling Stones". The URL "http://a438.phobos.apple.com/r10/Music/y1969/m12/d31/s06.dwrnogas.a.mp4" could not be found on the server.

  • Just started getting "The Apple Id you entered couldn't be found or the password was incorrect".  Any ideas why?

    Just started getting "The Apple Id you entered couldn't be found or the password was incorrect".  Any ideas why?  iTunes is running, the Apple Id and password are being entered correctly.

    Hi skn728,
    If you can verify that your Apple ID and password are correct by logging in at AppleID.apple.com and are certain that all your apps were purchased under that ID, you may want to try manually logging out of your Apple ID on your iPhone, then logging back in. • No persistent store with the logical name could be found on the server

    Weblogic 10.3.6 standalone server (no cluster).
    I want to move ejb timers persistence from the default store to DB.
    I created a new data source, non-XA, global transactions not supported, targeted to my managed server. Tested configuratiion against DB: OK.
    I created a JDBC persistent store (type JDBCStore), attached it to data source, targeted to my managed server, committed changes OK.
    In my application, TimedObject is implemented by a Stateless Session bean.
    I modified the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml descriptor for my SLSB specifying the persistence store name:
    <stateless-session-descriptor>
                <timer-descriptor>
                    <persistent-store-logical-name>MyStore</persistent-store-logical-name>
                </timer-descriptor>
    When I deploy my application, I get the following error
    [EJB:011112]Error initializing the EJB Timer store for the EJB '...' The weblogic-ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor or annotation for this EJB contains a persistent-store-logical-name setting but no persistent store with the logical name 'MyStore' could be found on the server 'yyyy'.
    Why ?

    Hi JB,
    The OTM schema has been created on an external database and not on the embedded XE database. Using 'Oracle Application Testing Database Configuration' we were able to successfully configure the said DB. We are able to use OTM through the 'Oracle Test Manager - Win32 Client' also. We are being held up by the above error when we attempt to deploy and use the server based OTM application.
    Do we need to configure the above Schema under the Weblogic console also?

    When I try to play music downloaded from itunes on my iPhone 4S it says 'this URL is not found on the server'. This does not happen when I play the same music on my iPad. The music plays fine. The message also comes up when I try and login to iTunes on my iMac. Can anyone help?

    I too am having the same issue as the OP.
    Your USER AGENT information is Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_2) AppleWebKit/600.3.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/8.0.3 Safari/600.3.18
    Every webserver that receives a request from your browser is able to determine the HTTP USER AGENT information unless it has been removed by some software (e.g. firewall) before the request was trasmitted.

  • I can not get to my yahoo email with F4. Everything I click on comes up "Not found. The requested URL /mc/showMessage was not found on this server."

    MF4 doesn't work with yahoo email

    Since something is not being found on the server the problem here is not with Firefox most likely. There may be some type of caching going on here. I would suggest clearing your cache and if the problem persists contacting Yahoo. You can clear your cache by following the instructions found on this page [[How to clear the cache]].

  • Opening Output Stream to a file on the server from Applet

    Hi,
    I am trying to write a little applet which parses a file found on the server , lets the user select some Strings then write the selected Strings to a different file on the server. I use the following code:
    String fileName = new String("LineUp");
    URL docBase = null;
    URLConnection conn = null;
    try {
    docBase = new URL(ApppletName.codeBase, fileName);
    } catch (java.net.MalformedURLException e) {
    System.out.println("Couldn't create image: "
    + "badly specified URL");
    try {
    conn = docBase.openConnection();
    } catch(IOException e) {System.out.println(e);}
    String playerString;
    try {
    conn.setAllowUserInteraction(true);
    conn.setDoOutput(true);
    conn.connect();
    PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(
    conn.getOutputStream());
    etc..
    The problem I am having is that the getOutputStream routine for the connection object does nothing other than throw an exception (I've stepped through the code and that is all the routine actually does). The connection is actually made but no output stream can be created. I have looked at the Java Tutorial (as I am fairly new to Java) and found a spot where they tell you how to write to a file on the server, which is the example I have followed. Any suggestions? What am I missing?

    Yes, that's what I thought. It talks about writing to a URL, and you have interpreted "URL" as if it meant "file". A URL is a "Uniform Resource Locator", which is a string that identifies a "resource" on the server. Often that corresponds to a file on the server, but not always. It could be a page that is dynamically generated by a script on the server.
    Look again at that page and you will see these words: "At the other end, a cgi-bin script (usually) on the server receives the data, processes it, and then sends you a response, usually in the form of a new HTML page." What that means is, you can't just upload a file to a URL unless you have programmed the server to deal with that upload. That's part of the basic design of the HTTP protocol.
    So, unfortunately, you can't do what you want all that easily. You would have to provide some programming at the server to handle the file upload for you. In Java that means writing a servlet and getting the web server to have that servlet handle all requests to a particular URL. I suspect you don't want to get into that just yet. But if you do, any decent book on Java servlets should have an example of how to upload files like this.

  • How do I increase bandwith on my server?  I cannot send any mutiple attachments bc the server (mobile me, mac) won't support it.

    I cannot send out attachments to my emails if there's more than one.  How can I increase server capacity?
    I use mac server and gmail on my mobile me account.
    Thanks,

    thanks, dmd2106
    The only other part-solution I've found in the meantime is to point my POP3 pick-up settings to my main mailbox (which has a capacity of about 50MB) instead of my Vodafone mailbox (which has only 15 MB space). That way, although I still can't delete my mail by phone, it takes longer to fill up the mailbox ... :-(
    I had redirected mail from my main mailbox to [email protected] for retrieving there - only to discover I couldn't delete them from the server.
    Ach, well, at least it's nice and convenient to _check_ your mail situation by mobile while you're having a break/coffee away from the office.

  • SSRS 2012 some users are not able to edit reports in the server

    Hello All,
    I am install reporting services SharePoint native mode but some users are not able to edit reports on server error is "Application cannot be started contact your application vendor" but this users edit reports on their client machine
    using report builder 3.0.
    Please help me

    Hi harshad_mule,
    Because Report Builder in the Report Manager is a ClickOnce application, the error message means that one or more of the files listed in the application manifest cannot be found on the server, so the application cannot be started. Based on my research, frequently
    this means that the application is somehow corrupted, or that the ClickOnce store is corrupted.
    To fix this issue, we can try to refer to the following steps:
    If Report Builder is corrupted, we can update the Reporting Services to repair this.
    Check that the Report Builder application is existing
        Open the Report Server folder. By default, the folder is located in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.<X>\Reporting Services\ReportServer\ReportBuilder
        Make sure the file "ReportBuilder.application" is existing in the folder mentioned above.
    If it is existing, please use the following URL to access the Report Builder directly:
    http://<server>/ReportServer/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder.application
    And this issue can also be caused by browser. Because not all report functionality is supported by all browsers in Reporting Services. So please use IE browser to start Report Builder to try it again.
    Hope this helps.
