Couldn't decode video

hi,
since I updated my phone to windows 8.1 I can't watch videos anymore. Every time I watch a video and press pauze and press play again I get the error: video couldn't be decoded. I get this error even when I try to skip ahead. Does sombody know a solution? sorry for bad english, I tried my best...

I just use internet explorer the standard browser. I just tried to watch a vid and the screen whent a few times black and I got the same message error:video...

  • Errors decoding videos from other sessions

    i am studying in a film school over in france, adobe suite 5.5 in french, no plug ins as is, on Lion 10.7 running on a iMac i5 4 GB ram, 2TB HD,
    Now where iam staying i use a iMac i7 2.93 ghz from 2010 with 12GB ram and a 2TB drive but runing on 10.6.8 osx, problem is i cqn not open the sessions from school, i get all these erro like the videos could not be decompressed.
    or no sequence errors like this
    no offense to anyone french but i tried asking the school and they had no clue, it seems they teach directly out of a Lynda.com tutorial and the class mates dont want to hear anything i have to offer unless i explain it in french, to give you an example, the price of the school could pay for a trip to the US, rent, food for 3 months, a english course, the Lynda.com Premiere DVD, a Canon 5Dmkii along aith a nice L lense but i guess its more important to them not to learn english., sorry if i sound like im ranting, this is been going on for a week now.

    Im on windows but here is a screenshot of my new sequence options.  Make sure you have the same.  Im not sure if Mac is different.
    If presets are missing then that would explain the missing codecs.

  • Gnome-shell crashes with my new video card (nvidia 450 GTS)

    Trying to use nouveau w/ gnome-shell and a new 450 GTS.  Firstly, gnome-shell enters fallback mode upon login.  Secondly, whenever I try to open a shell or a program such as firefox, gnome fallback mode crashes me back to gdm.  I'm not sure what to post log-wise.

    @sir - Works fine with proprietary driver.  Power supply is plenty large for this card.  It works fine under xfce.  The only features for the NVC0 series (this is an NVC3) that isn't the same as the others is "decode videos" which I took to mean VDPAU.  All other relevant features are the same as the NV50 series.

  • Video transmission with multithreading. I am having a problem?

    I am doing an application for sending video streams to multiple clients at the same time. So am using multithreading. I have the following codes to do the transmission. When I am using it with one thread only it is working fine. But when I use it with more threads for multiple transmissions I am have an error saying �Unable to realize com.sun.media.ProcessEngine�. Can anyone help me plz.

    Hm, that was my silver bullet. Other than doing an uninsall and then installing Presenter again, you may need to reach out to Adobe and see if they can identify what could be causing this.

    I m new to JMF.We are using MjSIP and i want to transmit video through JMF to other machine.The problem is the implementation which is given in MjSIP isnt working .
    I mean whenever i execute the implementation given in mjSIP like JVisualReceiver etc.Both machines hangs coz they are not being able to realize the processor.I have successfully run the Player but i m getting problem in realizing the processor.
    Although we are using the same processor.realize() method given in JMF Api.

    Finaly i was able to solve the problem.The other machine was having some firewall blocking the receiver.

  • How to prevent physical memory filling up and crashing Firefox (22.0) when watching Flash-based videos?

    This happens maybe 30-50% of the time when I watch a video online, whether it be on YouTube or other streaming site. This usually happens when the video is at least 20 minutes long, and about 8-9 minutes in.
    Looking at the Task Manager, my memory fills up to nearly its max (3.8-3.9 GB out of 4 GB) for a while before Firefox crashes. How can a video that is not very high definition take up that much physical memory space? After Firefox crashes, the RAM used immediately drops back below 1 GB.
    Is this a Flash bug or a Firefox bug/leak? Or maybe my browser customization is at fault? It does not happen on Chrome.

    Well, doomsdaze's rant didn't help solve my problem, but it actually makes me feel better about switching to Chrome.
    Yes, I switched browsers, set up all-new extensions and settings, and accepted other inconveniences because I couldn't watch videos in peace on Firefox.
    I had no idea there were so many others with this problem!

    It's very difficult to say without knowing more about your system. There are a number of possibilities. First, your 13" lacks a discrete GPU, so the CPU is doing the work that a GPU would have done as far as decoding video streams, etc. Each video stream will consume considerable resources from the machine, and if you have multiple things running with video streams being decoded (for example, a browser with video Flash or cumbersome animation and iMovie running at the same time), then that may be a factor.
    Additionally, it could be that you are memory constrained. You didn't post a picture of the process list from activity monitor or the memory usage stats, but you probably want to look and see what the memory and CPU usage is and who's consuming what. Some applications are pretty inefficient. For example, if you have iPhoto open and have thousands of images, the indexed metadata and thumbnails are all stored in RAM. iMovie pulls in clip thumbnail sets - (and worse, it has to do on-the-fly transcoding video assets from some cameras that don't encode the video using the parameters it expects to make indexing frames easier). Again, this would show up as periodic spikes in CPU activity for the app.
    You seem to have plenty of disk space, that's not likely to be a problem.
    Check if Time Machine is running. Time Machine introduces a performance impact, but it's exacerbated by the presence of frequently changed large files (e.g., you don't want Time Machine backing up your video projects while you are working on them).
    Lastly, you may consider checking the console for error messages. This might reveal background processes that might be bogging down the system, or things like filesystem/disk errors. If there are errors in the filesystem, when you access certain portions of the disk, the OS and applications can slow down or lock-up as a result.

  • IPhone video playback with OpenGL?

    Hi all,
    I need to decode video to an OpenGL texture - or at least draw it to the screen and then draw OpenGL stuff on top of it. Does anyone know if this can be done? The provided movie player API takes over the screen for the duration of playback, and I can't find a way to change this.
    I'm open to alternative decoding ideas as well. I tried the Ogg Theora reference implementation, but it was (predictably) unusably slow on the iPhone. Anyone know any other free decoders I might try?

    Handbrake is great. Instant handbrake is nice too because its quick and works. I'm sure the disconnect between video and sound is an encoding thing (when you ripped the DVD) rather than the iPhone. And, if you are doing protected DVD's (we won't tell), they can have encryption issues.

  • Airplay/Mirroring for video on VLC Player

    I am expecting my mid-2013 27" iMac in the mail shortly but my question is can I watch VLC player via airplay/display mirroring on my TV?  I will be running the latest version of Yosemite. Is this possible with the Apple TV (sound included), or is there an alternative to the apple TV for this purpose?    I currently am using a thunderbolt-HDMI cable from my mid-2010 MacBook for this but would like to do this wirelessly.

    VNC (build in Mac solution) need a VNC Server (source) and a VNC Client (destination) to work.
    If you connect (screen sharing) two Mac's or a Mac and a PC you will have as well a sever and a client running.
    As soon as your TV enables you to install a VNC Client and let you start it, you have what you want.
    Apple TV receive a constant multicast stream from the source (e.g. your Mac) to display e.g. a video. Also ATV buffers a part of the stream to unpack the compressed data, decode video / audio and deliver screen and sound synchronous.
    That is a total different technic compared to a screen sharing.

  • Video playback problems [6500 Slide]

    Video playback at 25, 29.9, 30 fps is jerky, only 12.5, 15 fps videos play correctly... Lowering the bitrate or using a less complex profile/codec doesnt help much. Funny thing is, it can play its own videos which are whooping 640x480 @ 25fps and 2000-3000kbps [for comparison: the videos i encoded were only 320x240, 25fps, 200kbps] without a problem! O.o So, why has it problems playing my less complex to decode videos?
    I tried following ways of encoding in SUPER:

    25, 29.9, 30 fps

    But halving the fps... Viola, it plays fine!

    I found the intel driver doesn't like xv output.  In VLC go Settings > Preferences > Video > Output modules and set X11 video output. See if that works.  If it does you can do similar things to totem using something in the gnome-media package (can't remember what exactly of hand...)
