"couldn't set locale correctly" after jumpstart

Hi Guru,
I've encountered the message of
"couldn't set locale correctly" after jumpstart install of solaris 8 in Netra Sun machine.
I found the Java version is 1.2.2,
may I know how can I upgrade to Java 1.4.2?
Kindly advice.
Thank you very much.
Regard,
Goon Fui

Hi,
Looks like the locale is not set correctly.
You may set your environment.
From bash shell
bash# export LC_ALL=C
bash# export LANG=C
for c -shell.
setenv LC_ALL C
setenv LANG C
Hope this helps.
Regards
Pravat
Anytime I restart a server or perform any other
functions in my DSCC console I get errors saying
"couldn't set locale correctly". Everything works
fine but I still get the errors.
When I do a "locale" at the prompt I get the
following:
LANG=
LC_CTYPE="C"
LC_NUMERIC="C"
LC_TIME="C"
LC_COLLATE="C"
LC_MONETARY="C"
LC_MESSAGES="C"
LC_ALL=
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this
problem?
Thanks,

  • PT880 Bios Setting Not Correct After Bios Flash

    Hey guys. Flashed bios from 1.1 to beta 1.5 and am now experiencing this problem. I get the message Bios settings not correct. After loading defaults all I get is my monitor going in to "sleep" mode. The only way to get PC to post is to clear the CMOS jumper. I find it odd that my PC booted to Windows fine with 1.1 and now this problem. The reason I flashed to beta is because I have a 2.4a prescott and heard that the beta is more compatible. Any ideas?

After finding that it sucked I uninstalled it. Went into bios and upped my FSB in 5mhz increments. I also loaded optimized defaults first disabling the dynamic OC and the usual settings and changed vcore to 1.425. I still cant get past 3.06, when I try higher, the PC restarts when trying to load windows. Ive tried bumping vcore in increments to 1.5, Northbridge up two notches, AGP at 1.7, RAM at 1.75 all with no luck. I dont want to get too gready but as my temps idle at 40C I feel I have more room to work with. I am going to try and manually enter my mem timings if I can find them and see what happens.
    Another thing I've found. When you change the FSB in the bios and it does not boot, wait a while and see what happens. For me about a minute later it finally rebooted and posted but the FSB setting went back to default. You may not have to clear cmos if you wait long enough.
    Good point about letting it sit----and then it will finally reboot after about a minute----back to FSB 200---this worked for me a couple of times.
    In Bios-----one of the tricks I did was to set the DDR to 466 and 500 and then see how that affected other bios settings----without going ahead and posting.
    It showed me that it jumped up my voltages on AGP, VDIMM and Northbridge (and I think soutbridge as well)
    Anyway----went back into bios and reset the DDR to 400----1:1----then raised all those voltages---then set my FSB up to about 230.  That was really about the highest I could get with any stability.  And that just doesn't cut it with a 2.4c which I've known to easily overclock to around 3.2 on an 875 or 865 board.
    That's why I think a 3.0c is a good chip for this VERY inexpensive board.   At 230 FSB You are doing 3.45 Mghtz which ain't too shappy
    Best timings for me were Cas 2.5 4,4,8 and changing the Vlink settings really did nothing that I could tell for performance or stability.
    Good Luck----let's us know how it turns out-----John

  • Error when setting locale

    Hello,
    I'm installing locale nam (en_US.UTF-8) from solaris 10 DVD as follows in a non-global zone:
    localeadm -a nam -d /cdrom/sol_10_807_sparc/s0/Solaris_10/Product
    It does install some packages and then prompts :
    No solaris3 image has been found in
    /cdrom/sol_10_807_sparc/s0/Solaris_10/Product
    Please enter the path to this image/disk, or enter 'q' to quit:
    (if this image is on CD-ROM, please mount the disk and give the path to the CD-ROM drive e.g. /cdrom/cdrom0)
    But i dont know which DVD to insert because i have only one.
    I select quit and then type locale -a:
    # locale -a
    C
    POSIX

    en_AU.UTF-8

    es_MX.ISO8859-1
    fr
    fr_CA
    fr_CA.ISO8859-1
    iso_8859_1
    Then i set LANG and LC_ALL variables for a user to en_US.UTF-8 and i get the error:
    couldn't set locale correctly
    Please advise how to correct this. Is it due to the additional DVD required...

    thanks Pascal,
    I tried the command but still same problem:

    I'm getting this error when exporting video from after effects. I also get it when the program starts up. I'm using Windows XP. Cannot find anything about a fix anywhere. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks for your reply. I profess ignorance regarding the GDI only mode and have no idea how to access that. Can you give me a little more info on that?
    I am using an ATI Radeon HD 3850. I have two monitors on that card, Monitor one is a Trinitron HP 1130 CRT.(set to 1280x1024 16bit) The other is DVI wide screen Ilo 26 inch monitor. (1024x768 at 32 bit)
    I have a BlackMagic Design DECKLINK standard definition broadcast card which outputs component video to a sony broadcast Beta deck. 480ix720 standard video.

    These hasn't been a major issue as I can still output AVI uncompressed but it is annoying.

  • ITunes Music Folder will not play from external hardrive after setting the correct path

    I've decided to try and create some more space for my music collection and decided to keep my entire iTunes library on a portable external hardrive. I researched how to do so online and was successful at first. I set the correct path from the advanced menu so that iTunes would recognize and save music to the folder on my HD. It worked fine last night, but today when I try and access it I get the, "could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" error message when I try and play a song anywhere in iTunes. I then tried to import the library from my external hardrive and then everything was duplicated. I some how reversed the duplication by using time machine and then redownloading iTunes, which is a riduculous story in itself, but thankfully, I am back at square one.
    I have over 24,000 songs with a majority of them rated as well as playlists I do not want to lose. I don't understand why it will not play the songs. Can anyone help me?

    If you are going to have the library on an ext HD the transfer the entire iTunes folder. This way you capture all the files - not just the music.
    Launch iTunes with the 'option' key down and follow the dialog - tell iTunes to open the iTunes library file on the ext HD and things should be ok.

  • WDDOINIT - SET LOCAL LANGUAGE out of parameter

    Hello,
    What I want to do is set the local language with an URL param.
    I tried two way which ended in a dead end.
    1. Read the param in the default handler:
    - In the Default handler it is possible to read params out of the URL
    - But it seams that it is to late to set the language with SET LOCALE LANGUAGE at this time
    2. Set Param in mehod WDDOINIT
    - When I set the language hardcoded in this method all works fine (textalias from otr will be displayed in correct language)
    - Bu it seams that there is no possibility to read the param in this method
    Does anybody have an idea how can I solve this Problem?
    Thanks

    Hm, it depends when you instantiate the corresponding texts in your Webdynpro Component.
    The "default handler" is the "HANDLEDEFAULT" method of the Window?
    This is called very late in the instantiation of the Component. The default texts should be read at this time.
    It may be a solution to build a WebDynpro-Component as framework that instantiates the needed Component after the Inbound is handled.
    (You can do this by defining your WDC as usage in the framework WDC.)
    Then you change the language by the imported URL-parameter in the frameworks-Inbound handler method.
    Then instantiate the embedded WDC (the one containing your application logic).
    This should then use your newly set language settings.

  • Oradism not set up correctly error in the alert log in 9.2.0.4

    Hello,
    I have installed 9.2.0.4 patch on top of 9.2.0.1 database.
    The O/S is Solaris 5.9
    The database is set to work with:
    workarea_size_policy=AUTO.
    The database is not working properly – compared to other machines we have.
    After looking in the alert log I found the following error popping after restart:

    Dynamic ISM can not be locked. Please
    setup oradism, or unset sga_max_size.

    I found the following two notes on the subject, contradicting each other and also contradicting the status of the machine:

    Can you please supply a full and DETAILED procedure regarding what should I do, in case it is not a procedure, please specify how I should solve the ‘oradism not set up correctly’ error.
    Tal Olier
    [email protected]

    Hi Tal,
    Just looked at the notes you referred to. The first doesn't apply to 9.2.0.4. as you state. The other note is for 9.2.0.4e (note the "e", stands for embedded). This "e" release is not what you have, so that note doesn't apply either.
    The AR that I referred to is for 10g, but the 9iR2 info is the same. You need to make sure that $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oradism is owned by root.

  • Discoveryd Basic Sockets Couldn't set IP_BOUND_IF on socket fd[72] scopeID[4] errno[22] result[-1]

    message loop filling system log.
    Text: discoveryd Basic Sockets Couldn't set IP_BOUND_IF on socket fd[72] scopeID[4] errno[22] result[-1]
    Value of fd[] does cycle
    Loop prevents access to internet
    Tried work-around from http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/153080/computer-name-keeps-changing-osx -10-10-14a389
    Basely has an affect.
    Power-off of router stops the loop.
    Powered-off for 5 (five) minutes and can access internet
    Macbook Air (MBA) and iMac both experience the loop

    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • ABAP SET LOCAL LANGUAGE doesn't work

    Hello Community,
    actually i try to work in a ABAP report with the SET LOCAL LANGUAGE
    statement to change the text environment on the fly to an other
    language. In the debugger i can see that the SY-LANGU is changed to the
    correct country but the messages are in the wrong language...
    i also set the profile parameter  install/collate/active = 1
    I created a small testprogramm:
    REPORT  Z_STEFAN_TEST_002 MESSAGE-ID sabapdocu.
    SET COUNTRY 'US'.
    SET LANGUAGE 'EN'.
    SET LOCALE LANGUAGE 'E'.
    MESSAGE i014.
    When i logon with language DE and start the programm, the messages are
    also in DE and not in EN.
    So can you help me to find a solution?
    best regards,
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,
    with set locale/language you can set only language environment for text-elements, headers etc...
    I don't know about similar simple solution for messages, but you can load message directly from database table ...
    DATA: l_text TYPE natxt.
    SELECT SINGLE text FROM t100
      INTO l_text
      WHERE sprsl = 'E' AND
      arbgb       = 'SABAPDOCU' AND
      msgnr       = '014'.
    MESSAGE l_text TYPE 'I'.
    Regards

  • Does anybody got a Windows 8 set up correctly on a Touchsmart PC ??

    After trying three days setting up Windows 8 on my Touchsmart 600-1040es PC I can officially anounce ... it does not work (at least not for me) !!!
    Is there anybody out there who got W8 to work on a touchsmart PC ??
    Which model and how did you do it .... I am very curious !!
    Thanks for your feedback (since HP does not seem to care a lot)

    > Re: Does anybody got a Windows 8 set up correctly on a Touchsmart PC ??
    Yes.  I have been using my tx2 since the DP.  Currently still on the RP.  The only problem I had was a delay after the CP waiting for N-trig to get an update available for the DuoSense driver for Multi-Touch.  (IIRC the generic driver that MS provided supported single touch only but at least tap worked.  When I installed the then latest N-trig driver Multi-Touch worked but tap didn't.)  Now there is a message about having to do the firmware update under W7 but that's no problem for me since I am dual-booting.  Anyway, now I would complain more about pen support than touch but I think that that might have more to do with my hardware than with the level of pen support left in the OS.  Even in W7 I wasn't really happy with the pen support.
    What are your symptoms?   Can you use it just as a normal Desktop without Touch?
    What's a  TouchSmart 600?  Specifically how is Touch supported on it?...  Oh.  "NextWindow 1950"?  Looks like it's pretty old (for W7 X64) and it isn't even listed by "Earlier Touch Screen Products".   Perhaps you could try installing the W7 driver in compatibility mode?   (I'm not going to insert a link to the driver I found--2009-11-05--in case I have guessed incorrectly about what you have. <w>)
    Good luck

  • How to set local currency in AR/Invoice through DI API SAP B1?

    Dear Expert,
    I am using DI API to add AR/Invoice document, but I can't find how to set local currency for BP with foreign currency.
    This my code snip :
            oSO = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(BoObjectTypes.oInvoices)
            oSO.DocDate = dtpPostDate.Value
            oSO.DocDueDate = dtpDueDate.Value
            oSO.TaxDate = dtpDocDate.Value
            oSO.Series = cSeries
            oSO.DocNum = txtNumber.Text
            oSO.DocCurrency = doccur
            oSO.CardCode = txtBP.Text
            oSO.CardName = txtName.Text
            oSO.ContactPersonCode = cntctCode
            oSO.JournalMemo = txtRemarks.Text
            For i = 0 To dgv.RowCount - 2
                oSO.Lines.SetCurrentLine(i)
                oSO.Lines.ItemCode = dgv.Item(0, i).Value
                oSO.Lines.ItemDescription = dgv.Item(2, i).Value
                oSO.Lines.Quantity = dgv.Item(4, i).Value
                oSO.Lines.Price = dgv.Item(5, i).Value
                oSO.Lines.DiscountPercent = dgv.Item(6, i).Value
                oSO.Lines.TaxCode = dgv.Item(7, i).Value
                oSO.Lines.LineTotal = dgv.Item(9, i).Value
                oSO.Lines.Currency = doccur
                oSO.Lines.Add()
            Next
            lRetCode = oSO.Add()
            If lRetCode <> 0 Then
                oCompany.GetLastError(lErrCode, sErrMsg)
                MsgBox(sErrMsg, 16, "Attention")
            Else
                MsgBox("Operation completed successfully.", 64, "Information")
             End If
    When trying to Add, system show error message " Enter valid currency code [OINV.DocCur][Line:1], '$' "
    I am not lucky after trying for a day , wish enlightenment from the experts here, Thank you.

    Hi
    In the other thread I suggested that you can add document using interface first because there is a possibility that B1 doesn't accept this currency code not because you set it improperly in your code but because of some other reason, for example this currency is not valid for this particular business partner. Despite the fact that this way you can eliminate other possible problems you can also use DI to save an existing document as XML and check what is the actual currency code that B1 itself placed in the document lines object.
    Afterwards you can again try to add document using DI.
    btw
    check this thread:
    How to set local currency in sales order for BP with foreign currency through DI?
    Kind regards,
    Radek
