Counterfeit software?

I just downloaded iCloud InDesign (after using the trial for a month) from the Adobe website and the following Adobe Application Manager error popped up:
"Adobe Genuine Software Validation Failure: The product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit."
What should I do?

Microsoft Office Counterfeit Software

I have question regarding Counterfeit Software.
Is it legal for any seller to sell Microsoft Software Product Keys to a Home User/End User, when those Product Keys are for MSDN?

I have called Microsoft Activation Center to verify Product Key and I was told that key is Genuine
and MCA person did help me activate software but later the key was blocked.

Verification Failure and potential counterfeit software

I recently purchased a student license and DVD Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard for Windows from www.srs.usg.edu, the supplier of software for my university. After partially downloading, the installer said there was a verification failure and that "the product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit.
The only issue I can think of is that I downloaded a free trial of Photoshop CS6 that is still on my computer. I didn't uninstall it before trying to install my purchase because if it didn't work, I didn't want to be left without a program to finish my homework on. If this is the solution, I can try that, but I would think I would've gotten a different notification if that were the error.

The Genuine Software Failure error could be due to damaged installation media. Please try downloading the trial of Creative Suite 6 Design Standard from http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=design_standard. You can then try the installation again with the freshly downloaded install files.

I am getting an error saying 'product appears to be counterfeit' on Adobe Captivate 8 downloaded file.

Ever got an error 'Appears to be counterfeit software' on a package downloaded from Adobe official site directly? I got it on Windows 8 machine - 64 bit Adobe Captvate 8 software.

Counterfeit disk?

I tried doing an installation of illustrator CS6, after the validation of the serial number, during the installation the process stopped and I received the message 'The product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit'.
Any thoughts? Just a bad disk? This is a copy of illustrator, sold and distributed by an educational consortium.

Is it possible to purchase just photoshop (Mac) as a disk or download?

I need CS3 or later but want new - not a used product, having read about licensing and installation problems. I don't need the entire CS, just Photoshop. Elements are too limited. Thanks!

Adobe does not sell licenses for old version. The licence is what you want. The software can be downloaded from Adobe web site. Licensed users can download and install the old version of Photoshop from Adobe.com and use their License key to Activate the software. Protect yourself there are many software scams on ebay....

New install of CS3 on my new Mac OSX Lion does not start

Good morning,
I have an old Mac running CS3, that was upgraded to Lion afterwards with no difficulty.
I bought a new Mac 27" Mac OSX Lion, when installing CS3 on it, the licence number does not register a green check (horrible red cross instead....) Licence number is valid, legally purchased....
What's wrong here? I can't aford to upgrade just for that reason....

Why isn't Photoshop accepting my serial number?

I had Photoshop CS4 installed on my laptop for two years without any major issues. The laptop recently broke so I got a new one and I cannot install Photoshop there because it says my serial number is invalid. How can this be? It worked fine before and the number is clearly printed on the DVD case.

Installation of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6

Hi, I recently bought my Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 online and tried to follow the guide. However, I am unable to install and get pass the 'install a trial' page. Followed the steps below but stuck at step 3. Please help me as soon as possible!
Follow the steps and your installation will be done within 5 minutes!
1. Disconnect from Internet (important!)
2. Click on the "Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.dmg" file and open the installation inside
3. When installer opens, click "Install a trial (I want to try Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6 Family for a limited time"
4. Click "Accept" > "Install" (Choose only Adobe Premiere Pro CS6)
5. After installing, go to your applications and open up Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6.
6. The Premiere Pro application will open together with a pop up window, click "Start Trial"
7. Choose a new project, and once Premiere Pro has been opened, close the application
8. Go to "Mac Patch (MILK Design Studio)" folder, right click and copy "amtlib.framework"
9. Go to your "Applications" (side tab under finder), click on "Adobe Premiere Pro CS6", and right click on "AdobePremiere Pro CS6" and select "Show Package Contents"
10. Click on "Contents" > "Frameworks" and paste the file. Select "Replace".

You bought a counterfeit, pirated copy. Get a refund, quickly, if you can.

CS6 6.0.1 Scrubbing/playback glitches

Hi,
I've got some in-app playback issues that appear to stem from software decoding/codec issues. I've got 6 matching workstations, all brand new HP Z820's with dual Xeon 2.0 ghz, 24 gb RAM, Nvidia 4000 graphics card (with CUDA support), and Decklink Extreme 3D output cards. These workstations are connected via 8gb fiber channel to a 90tb Rorke SAN via ATTO FC81EN cards (running July 28, 2010 fw). These boxes are running CS6 6.0.1, Windows 7 64 bit, and have the latest Decklink drivers. All workstations are showing similar issues.
The timeline has a mix of formats on it, including AVI, MOV and JVC ProHD long gop MP4. When shooting and editing using QT .MOV-wrapped files from the camera, the playback is much better...it's the MP4s that are problematic. We see in-app playback choppiness and tearing. Exports are pretty stable, but the quality of the in-app editing playback is unacceptable to the client. The previous workstations were running CS 5.5 and did not have these issues -- only when upgrading to CS 6 and new hardware did these issues appear.

Thanks for the suggestion. Updating to 9.6.6 did not solve the issue, but what did solve the problem was connecting the workstation to the internet and doing a comprehensive CS 6.0.3 update. Manually updating via USB stick did not work (update failed and reported that I was using counterfeit software -- a bug that adobe has since acklowledged).

Adobe license CS4

I have to travel for work one month to China and my company have some licenses (Spanish License) of Adobe Photoshop CS4. I can travel to China without problems and work with my spanish license? or I have to do something to change any license?

Chances are that no fellow user here on the forum is going to be able to help you.
You really need to contact Adobe Customer Support for activation issues.
Some people - and I'm not saying this has necessarily happened to you - have been bitten by scams where they bought counterfeit software and originally got bogus serial numbers which worked at the time, but have since been blacklisted by Adobe. I sincerely hope this is not what happened to you.
Good luck with Adobe Customer Support. I've always found them helpful with regard to activation issues.

Why not have options of downloading older versions

Here is a link on your site: http://www.adobe.com/products/studio/index.html. I post it for two reasons, one being that the link is for a product that Adobe no longer sells. The other reason is that I can't see why Adobe doesn't offer the opportunity to purchase older versions of their software. I have an admittedly older computer (2000 Mac) that continues to serve me well. I would like to be able to buy a newer version of Adobe software than what I have, but because Adobe doesn't offer this option on their site, my only other option is buying used or possibly counterfeit software from Ebay. I have put off buying a newer version of software for the same reason that most people do: I can't afford it. I don't have 2 grand for CS4 and my computer can't run it anyway, but it can run CS2 or possibly CS3. So wouldn't it be better for Adobe to keep offering products for older computers?
Laugh if you want about my old machine, but I have used PCs and Macs professionally over the years as a web designer. I will take my old Mac any day. In the time I've owned it I probably haven't turned it off more than 50 times, have never had a virus (I don't even have virus protection) and have never had a disk crash. I believe that there are other people out besides myself who have older computers that would also benefit from the ability to purchase older versions of software.

The packaging for this looked like an Adobe product on the top half and a MM product on the bottom half and contained pretty much every app worth having at the time it was issued.
I agree that is would be costly and counterproductive for Adobe to carry and support older products but at the same time I've never used Adobe support for anything. I spent over a half-hour just trying to get someone on the SALES line which you would normally expect someone to answer promptly. And we all know how beneficial robohelp is. I would still rather buy this product from Adobe even if it was without customer support. The best support these days comes from forum contributors anyway...
