Counting down to zero from a specified number

I'm sure this is a very simple thing to do, but I can't figure out how. I want to count down from a specified number to 0, then restart counting at that orginal number. The trick is that I need it to place it in a case structure, and have it restart counting when it switches states (i.e. from TRUE to FALSE and vice versa).
Example: Say I want to count down from 2 (as specified in a constant). Should look like:
FALSE
2
1
0
2
1
0
2
---TRUE
2
1
0
2
1
---FALSE
2
1
0
2
1
I'm sure this is easy to do, but I've been wracking my brain!
Thanks!
-Brendan

While I don't know what you mean by "when it switches states", I have attached one solution using an event structure. Here "it" is simply a boolean control that switches states under operator control.
See if this makes sense to you.

  • BAPI to remove leading zeros from the serial number

    Hi All ,
plz can anybody suggest me the alternative BAPI for 'BAPI_SERVNOT_MODIFY_DATA ',whose function is to delete the leading zeros, from the serial number.
    Thanks.

Perhaps instead of using a BAPI you can code it like this.
    DATA:serial(10) TYPE n VALUE '0000340078',
    pos TYPE i VALUE 1.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      WHILE pos <= 10 AND serial+pos(1) = 0.
        pos = pos + 1.
      ENDWHILE.
REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF '0' IN serial(pos) WITH space.
      WRITE serial.

  • How to remove leading zero from Material Number

    Hello Everyone,
I need to figure it out how to remove leading zero from material number. Cureently extractor is sending material number as 100663. But when comes into BI i am getting as "000000000000100663" and similariy in report it is appearing as "000000000000100663". Now my client wants me to exclude preceeding zero for a material in all the reports.
Is there any setting in query desinger to handle this issure or in the backend.
    Need your inputs.
    Thanks,
    Lasya.

    Hi
you can use the function Module
    CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT in the start routine
to test this go to SE37  --- give the CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT -
    >display -
    > F8
    in the input give 000000456
    and execute
the out put will be 456
for getting Zeros you can use
    CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT--- to remove leading zeros

I see people from different ages at my work and every month I need to count how many people from each age I've seen that month. How can I do to give the entries to numbers in a single cell and make numbers count them for me? The final result would be a spreadsheet telling there were 8 people from 20 to 39 years old, 14 peolple from 40 to 59 and so on...

This appears to be an 'input form' using 'Radio Buttons' to select the category. Neither of these features are supported in Numbers '09.
You can input the data on one table and summarize it on a second table, but the input table will continue to hold data for each event.
And by using the Reorganize button, you can hide all but two rows of that table to approximate the appearance and performance of an input form.
Here are the two tables, Data on the left and Summary on the right. Notes below.
The grey-filled columns in both tables are 'working' columns, and may be hidden (as shown in the image below).
    Data table:
D1 contains the word "TRUE" (in capital letters). (This row is always shown.)
D2 is empty, or may contain any value except "TRUE" (This row is always hidden under the Reorganize rule.)The rest of Row 2 of this table requires the data shown: a number outside the range to be counted (999), and two checkboxes, both checked.
D3 (and filled down the rest of column D):   =AND(OR(B2,C2),NOT(OR(B3,C3)))
The formula returns TRUE only for the first unused row in the table (ie. the first row for which neither checkbox has been checked)
    Summary table:
Column A contains labels for the age ranges to be counted.
Column B contains the same information in the form necessary for the formulas in columns C and D. They need a numeric value, and that value must be the largest acceptable value in the range to be counted.
C2 (and filled right to column D, then both filled down to row 5):
        =COUNTIFS(Data :: $A,"<="&$B,Data :: B,TRUE)-SUM(C$1:C1)
Two changes from the previous example:
COUNTIFS is used to separate the Native and Foreign counts as well as the age range to be counted.
The amount subtracted from each result is the SUM of the earlier results, and includes the text value in the first cell of the column (which is interpreted by SUM as a zero).
See note below regarding my earlier formula.
When the greyed columns are hidden and the checkbox in the Reorganize pane is checked, the two tables will appear as shown below:
Close the reorganize pane, and the 'data entry form' is ready to use.
To use, enter the age first, then check one of the boxes.
As soon as one box is checked, the row will be hidden, and the next (unused) row will be shown.
    Regards,
    Barry
Note regarding formula in my earlier post:
The earlier formula will give erroneous results as it subtracts only the count directly above it from its count of persons in the age range 0-n.
In E2 of that table, replace "-E1" with "-SUM(E1:E$1)
    Fill down to E8.
Ignore the instructions (in that post) following "Fill down to E8."

Hey all, i have come to this fourm a few times and every time
i posted help i got it and i got the right help to. So here i am
back again. Now here my problem. i made this count down for a
certain event. (yes i got help from someone) and it works fine i
made all the images it works great,,,so i though then i thought id
experament. So i changed my computers time zone and guess what. The
Time changed on the count down. Can i make my count down'er', count
down from a specific time zone so it will count down and be the
same for everyone? so no matter what time zone you have it will
ONLY be for a certain type of time zone? Heres my Count down so
    far;

And heres the script i have for my count down. Can someone
give me a better code, so it will keep my counter the exact same
just make it count down from only 1 specific Time zone? (AS below)
    quote:
    stop();
    currentDate = new Date();
    thisYear = currentDate.getFullYear();
    // Date( year, month-1, date [, hour [, minute [, second [,

  • Does Apple know about bug in Timer that shows minutes but counts down seconds?

I have a couple of times changed my timer from a few minutes down past zero to 59 or so to time out about an hour.  But the timer, while still showing minutes count down seconds.  This image is a captured screen shot as it is counting down seconds.  But when I cancel the timer, I get which shows the 59 minutes I expected to get.  If I press Start at this point, it will count down seconds.  If I attempt to reproduce conditions, by going to 8 or 9 minutes, then canceling and going to 59 minutes, it works.  It may be that you have to run the timer down to alarm and then try the lower setting.

Does Apple know about bug in Timer that shows minutes but counts down seconds?
How would we know?  Call them and ask.

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of it have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return  three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
    12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

  • Remove the leading Zero from the Query output in SAP BW ?

    Hi
    Experts,
Vendor Number loaded  as   (0000010076) from R/3 to SAP BW.
How to remove  Prefix  of Zero for  the Vendor Number(0000010076)  from Quey outpt.
    Regards.
    ASIT

    Hi,
    Please check out this thread.
    Remove leading zeros
Also check if there is any conversion routine used for that particular infoobject.
If ALPHA conversion is selected for your infoobject then it will automatically take away the leading zeros at query level.
    Regards,

  • Down payment request from billing

    Hello
    Can somebody answer what are
    Down payment request from billing
    Down payment settlements from AR
Billing value from AR (down payments excluded)
Where I can find these values for a particular Sales order (transactions , tables, etc)
    Thanks

    Hi,
Coming to your first question:Down payment request from billing
In general,we are going to create this down payment request for prepaid sales orders only.
    Goto T.Code:VA02,Enter the order number.
    Goto item details-->Billing plan.
Here you can maintain the necessity values for your down payment like the billing documnet type and down payment % value etc,...
While creating the down payment, there should be a block for final invoice.
This is down payment request from order.
2.Down payment settlements from AR .
For this down payment invoices the special G/L indicator will be defaulted as F.We have to pay that amount through F-28 T.Code.
While maintaining the values for this downpayment in F-28,don't forget to maintain the special G/L indicator as F and remove the tick mark for Normal O/Is
You can pay the necessity amount and the remaining amount has to be maintained in difference postings such that the not assigned value should be 0.00.After paying this amount the indicator will be turned to "A".You can check it in FB03 T.Code and change the layout in this transaction and include the field special G/L indicator.
3.Billing value from AR (down payments excluded)
This means that if the downpayment % is 0 then it is nothing but the final invoice amount. In this case it comes into picture.
It is equivalent to order and final invoice. And down payment is dummy here.
    T.Code:VA02
Enter teh order number.Click on document flow.
You can find the downpayment and final invoice numbers.Make a note of them.
VBFA is tha table where you can find the subsequent documents.
FBL5N is the T.Code where you can find the cleared and open items for your customers.
All your cleared downpayments will be appeared here along with the clearing document number.
BSAD and BSID are the tables.
FB02/FB03 are the T.Codes for checking accounting document entries.
    Regards,
    Krishna.

  • Down loading photos from PC to playbook

Hi everyone I have just got myself a Playbook 16G. I am having big problems down loading photos from my Imac PC unto the Playbook. I down loaded the software and the screen I get up which shows the photos I have stored on the PC come up in a numerical order with a tick box beside them, I really can see whats on the photo and my selection wont work unless I select all and even when I tick the boxes the system wants to download the lot. Anyway I stopped the downloading and now when I try again to pick individual photos it wont let me and I get a message up saying it cant find the place to store the photos??I have taken the desktop software out and reloaded it and still get the same unfriendly screen and the same message that it cant find the storeage in Playbook. Anybody out there able to help me with this problem? I have tried the usb to on etc but to no avail also noticed that the desktop software freezes my PC up sometimes and I have to shut it down at the PC power switch??? Best regards Gerry
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

In your PC go to  window explorer, your main hard drive, mine is  C . Then below you will see in your usb port a Z and number beside it.
click the z port and all the data in there will show up.
Just drag the pictures you want in to the picture file.  The same is for music, just drag the list of songs you want into the music file.

  • LabVIEW 6.1 If For Loop count terminal is zero then value going through the loop is not passed on to the output of the loop

Hello, one of our customers just encountered an execution error in a vi running under LabVIEW 6.1, which doesn't exist under LabVIEW 5.1 or 6.01. I have a simple vi that has two encapsulated For Loops. Two string arrays go in, one goes out of the outer loop. Inside the outer loop the first array is indexed. The string which results from this indexing is compared with all other strings from the second string array in the inner loop. If it matches one of the strings of the second array, it is not outputted, otherwise this string goes through the inner For Loop to the output of the inner loop and from there to the output of the outer loop. The count
terminal of the outer/inner loop is connected to the Array Size of the first/second string array. If the second array is empty, that means that the element in test from the first arry cannot match anything from the second array, so the element in test is send to the output of the inner loop and from there to the output of the outer loop. This works fine in LabVIEW 5.1 and 6.01, but NOT in LabVIEW 6.1. In LabVIEW 6.1 the inner loop is never executed if the count value is zero (which is correct), but the data line running through the loop is not executed either, which is different to what LabVIEW 5.1 and 6.01 do. There, the input string is sent to the output of the inner loop correctly even if the loop counter is zero. The solution is easy - I just have to connect the output of the outer loop to the data line BEFORE it enters the inner loop. But: I don't know if this is a LabVIEW 6.1 bug or if it is supposed to be a feature, but it brings some incompatibility in programming between the
    different LabVIEW versions.
    Best regards,
    Gabsi

    Hi,
When a for-loop runs zero times, all outputs are 'undefined' (and should
    be).
Besides, how would LV know what the output of a not executed routine should
    be?
It might be handled differently in LV5 and LV6, which is unfortunate. In
both cases, the result is undefined.
It's not a bug. It's just something that should be avoided in any LV
    version.
    > The solution is easy - I just have to connect the
    > output of the outer loop to the data line BEFORE it enters the inner
    > loop. But: I don't know if this is a LabVIEW 6.1 bug or if it is
In some cases this does the trick. But if the data is changed in the inner
loop, this will effect the results if the N is not zero.
Technically, I think the output in this construction is also 'undefined'.
But LV handles this as expected / desired.
Another solution is to use a shift register. If N is zero, the input is
directly passed through to the output.
    Regards,
    Wiebe.

  • How to subtract from a changing number?

I wonder which function i use to subtract the amount from the E coloumn from the box F5. I want the amount 50 to subtract from 7756,5 and show up in the box F9. I want to find a function so when i plug in the next amount in coloumn E that it subtracts from the new number in F9. Is there a easy way of doing this or do i have to write a funktion in each box?
    Thanks!

    Hi Reddefrom,
The simplest way to do this for me would be:
Put the formula =$F$5-E9 in cell F9.
Put the formula =F9-E10 in cell F10.
Then click once on cell F10 move the cursor toward the bottom edge until the yellow handle appears, and pull the yellow handle down to "fill" the formula into the cells below.

Edit: I see you're in Numbers 2.3. So it's not a yellow dot. The fill looks like this (drag lower right corner of cell).

No possible.... You'll need to jot them down manually. Very painful especially if your dealing with a 2hr long DVD
