COUNTING RULE

Hi frnds,
I need help in Define Counting Rule on the below attributes..
1. CONDITIONS FOR CURRENT DAY
2. HOLIDAY CLASS (what does the Holiday class 0 to 9 means here, and not a public holiday means)
3. DAY TYPE (what does Day type 1 to 9 are... and what does it mean work acc. to work schedue)
4. COUNTING CLASS 0 TO 9...what does it denotes....
5. DAILY WORK SCHEDULE CLASS 0 TO 9... which one to use.. and means...
6.CONDTION FOR PALNNED HOURS...
7. QUOTA MULTIPLIER...
please give an example for each...
Thanks

Hi,
1. CONDITIONS FOR CURRENT DAY - represent the work days, if our work schdule is
work work work work work work off
Eg:1 for absences-  on which days do you want take the leaves
2.for attendance(OT) - on which day do you want work for the company
1. then i want to take leaves on monday to saturday only, so here we need select the monday to saturday for absence coutning
2. then i want work for all days, so here we need to select the all days.
2. HOLIDAY CLASS (what does the Holiday class 0 to 9 means here, and not a public holiday means)
- holiday class represent the type of class. here
0- means not a public holiday means it is working day
1- Public holiday ex: Mayday, August 15, Ja 26.
2- half day holiday ex: christmas eve, January eve
3-9- customer range(special holidays)
3. DAY TYPE (what does Day type 1 to 9 are... and what does it mean work acc. to work schedue
day types mean on day we are paying to employee or not. here
0 - work paid - if an employee work for the company as per work schedule i can pay, otherwise i cound not pay
1- time off paid - mean week off, public holidays
2- time off unpaid - on sunday i could not pay some of employee like for contractors
3-9 - customer range - customer range either he can pay, not pay
4. COUNTING CLASS 0 TO 9...what does it denotes....
the best example as per standard
Examples
Employees assigned to a work schedule with 4 working days per week and 10 working hours a day are credited with 1.25 leave days for each workday. In other words, they receive the same amount of leave entitlement as employees who work a 5-day week for 8 hours a day. 1.00 leave days per workday are deducted for these employees. Since the work schedule is based on the period work schedule, you can use the valuation class of the period work schedule as a feature to distinguish between employees who work 4-day weeks and those who work 5 days.
5. DAILY WORK SCHEDULE CLASS 0 TO 9... which one to use.. and means
daily work schedule class of the employee's current daily work schedule. You want to specify a working time model in which Saturday is a day off but your employees can work if they choose to do so. You define a daily work schedule with the desired planned hours and classify it with the daily work schedule class 0, which is stored as a day off.
here 0- week off
1- 9- working
6.CONDTION FOR PALNNED HOURS
Here you enter the conditions of the planned hours that exist for the attendance/absence day in the employee's work schedule either we required equal to zero or greater than zero hours
7. QUOTA MULTIPLIER
best example with as per standards
Examples
An employee group works five days a week for eight hours each day. You use 100 (%) as the quota multiplier to calculate the payroll days and hours.
1. An employee group works four days a week for 10 hours each day. Their leave is calculated in days.
If you want to valuate these employees' leave days fairly, their leave days should be 1.25 days long and should have the quota multiplier 125 (%). This means that they are not at a disadvantage in relation to colleagues who only work eight hours per day.
When it comes to calculating the payroll hours, the planned hours of the work schedule depict the situation correctly. You therefore enter a quota multiplier of 100 (%).

  • Why does playlist on iPod keep repeating and repeating even though play count rule is 1

    Hello, everyone!
I have a smart playlist of about 100 songs.  The play count rule is set to play songs with a play count of less than 1.  A few days ago, I reset all of the songs play count to 0.  If you ask me, the way I have it set up, when the iPod is playing with my headphones on, the iPod should automatically update each songs play count to 1 after each song plays.  After I have listened to all 100 songs, the playlist on the iPod should be empty.  The reason is is because since each song was updated from their play count of 0 to 1 after each one played the play count rule in the playlist should show no songs in the playlist.  Like I said before, the rule says to play any songs with a play count of less than 1.  Since all of the play count of the 100 songs are now 1 and not less than 1, the playlist should be empty.
The problem is, when I'm listening to my iPod and the 100 songs have played, the playlist is not empty.  It just keeps repeating songs and it will never stop.  When I go to iTunes, the songs are randomly with play counts of 3 or 2 or 1 or however many times they have been repeated.
Does anyone know why this is?

The reason the songs don't delete themselves after playing from the playlist on the iPod is because your iPod is not smart enough to do that. It's only when you re-sync your iPod to your iTunes library does the smart playlist in your iTunes library delete the played songs. Then the playlist on your iPod will adjust to the number left unplayed in that playlist.
So as long as you don't sync back to your library the number of songs in that playlist will never reduce to zero.

  • Help required in configuring counting rule

I have limited experience in SAP-HR configuration. Kindly help me quota configuration. The client has only absence type u2013 Earned Leave. The leave rule is the same for all the employees. The leave rules are:
    1.     The employees are credited with earned Leave on Jan 1 every year, for the attendance days put in during the previous calendar year.
    2.     The employee is eligible for Earned Leave only if he has attendance for at least 240 days during the previous year. If the employee has joined the company during the middle of the previous year, then he should have attendance for at least 2/3 of the remaining working days during the year.
    3.     The employee should be credited with 1 day EL for every 20 working days. If the employee, for example, has worked for 268 days during the year then he should be credited with 13 days EL (268/20=13, with 8 days as remainder). The remainder days, if any, should be carried forward to the next year and considered at that point as added to the number of working days. E.g. employee has worked for 268 days in year 2010. He will be credited with 13 days EL on 1 Jan 2011. Assume he has worked for 256 days in year 2011. Then while creating the absence quota for EL on 1 Jan 2012, the system should consider working days as 256 (from year 2011) + 8 (remainder from year 2010) = 264. Hence the employee should be credited with 13 days of EL on 1 Jan 2012 (264/20 = 13 days; 4 days remainder).
    4.     Leave carry forward rules: The employee is allowed to carry forward the EL balance to the next year. However, after carry forward the total balance should not go beyond 30 days. Any thing in excess of 30 days will get lapsed, if it is not encashed.
Kindly let me know how to configure the counting rule & the deduction rule for the above scenario.

  • Counting rule 08/1/00/.. does not exist

    Hi,
We are getting this error when we are running  a program to upload the sickness description in PA2001, we are getting the following error
Counting rule 08/1/00/.. does not exist
Can anyone please give me the step by step config to be carried out in T554c to resolve this error?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Saumik

    Hi Saumik,
    Your config is
    EE Sub Group Grouping: 8
    Pers Subarea Grouping: 1
    Counting Rule: 00
    1. check T556C if Counting Rule 00 exists for EE Sub Group Grpg 8 & Pers Subarea Grpg  1.
    2. If Deduction of Quota is applicable, See if the Deduction Rule is configured & assigned in this table.
    3. Also Check if the Counting Rule 00 is assigned to the Absence in T554S. Also check the Validity dates in these tables.
    Good Luck !!!

  • Query on Counting Rules for CL

Our customer has the following requirement regarding Casual Leave (CL). If the CL days are BOTH prefixed & suffixed by OFF days and/or holidays then ONE extra day of CL is to be counted. E.g. Assume an employee takes one day CL on 5-Mar-12, 6-Mar-12 and 4-Jan-12 is his weekly OFF and 7-Mar-12 is a holiday. Then CL days days have to be counted as 2+1 = 3 days (one day extra).
However, if CL days are only prefixed or only suffixed with OFF days or holidays, then the actual CL days have to be counted. E.g. employee takes CL on 8-Mar-12 and 7-Mar-12 is a OFF day or holiday. Then only ONE day CL (Actual) is to be counted. Similarly, if employee takes CL on 9-Mar-12 and 10-Mar-12 is a OFF day or holiday, then also only ONE day Cl (actual) is to be counted.
Please guide me on how to configure the counting rules for the above scenarios.
    -Kalpana

    Hi,
Check all the week days, Allholiday class, All the DWS class,  conditions for day selected in countingrule.
With same counting rule number with other grouings i.e ESG grouping for Time quotas, PSG grouping for Time Quotas with different cobination having any collution. in case of employee subgroup changes it may reflect.
Eventhough everything is fine then already updated employee master again you need to save the masterdata with change mode through PA30.

  • Counting Rule /33/020 does not exist

    Hi All,
On changing the Employee Sub-group of an employee, I am getting the error as
" Counting Rule /33/020 does not exist" . This employee sub group was created recently in the system. Please let me find where the configuration is missing as i have no idea regarding Counting Rules.

    Hi,
Check the employee groups and employee groupings in the counting rules. Check in this node of  Group Employee Subgroups for Time Quotas. in this node group and counting rule groups are same or not. And assign the counting rules to absences V_554S_Q in this table.
    ?      Esg. grouping
    33  - Psg grouping
    020 - counting rule

  • Purpose Assign Deduction Rules To Counting Rules

    Hi experts
I have a few question to ask:
    1. What is the purpose of assign deduction rules to counting rules. For example, I have create counting rule for sick leave.
After that, I have created deduction rule for absence quota to allow quota for sick leave using this rule. That's I understand. However, I quite confusing to assign deduction rules to counting rules. This is because there are two fields to key in :
         i. Within entitlement
         ii.Over entitlement
What does these 2 fields means. Why we should config this.
    2. I want to create new leave type. This leave however have no quota. Should I create a new rule or can use the same counting rule available. I'm quite worry to use same counting rule because the current rule has been assigned by deduction rules (fields within entitlement). If I want to create new counting rule, is it possible to create it without create deduction rules for absence quota
    Thanks in advance

1 - Your employee has a "Sick Leave Quota" of 4 days left.  Will you allow her to go "Over her entitlement" and take more than 4 days of "Sick Leave Absences", or do you restrict the use of "Sick Leave Absences" by what is "Within her entitlement"?
2 - Look at all the absences that have been set-up in your system.
      - A Paid Sick Leave Absence should not reduce paid hours but it should reduce Sick Leave Quota.
      - A Paid Special Leave Absence should not reduce paid hours but may not be linked to any Quota.
      - An Unpaid Leave should reduce paid hours but may not be linked to any Quota.
... and you may have many other examples in your system.

  • Time Management automatic Quota accrual rule

    Hi Experts,
I want to configure leaves as per following basis...
we want to generate quota based on ES group, also based on days worked on off days with accrual period.
    Example:
Mr X (Employee sub group 01) works 24 days continuously and also works on holidays (which is assigned to his/her calender), after specific period (24 days in this case), he is eligible to get quota for those days which he had worked on holidays. For example 5 off days was included in his 24 days he worked.. now he is eligible to get 5 days off...(Paid)
How can we configure above case ?
Thanks in advance for your time...
    Regards,
    Muhammad Umer

    Mr. Umer,
Create a Absence type and Quota
Quota generation type is - Generation
Base entitlement - maintain a time type
select Counting rule for (Public Holidays & Holidays)
    Generation rule....
write a PCR on the same to store howmany days he worked on Doffs ....in time type....
Copy TR11 PCR and change in to YR11 and insert your Time type in Schema above the CUMBT.
    Cheers

  • How to set the field size in rule file.

i have to map total 30 fields in a rule file while by default it allows only 20 fields. so how can we set the fields as per our need?

    Hi Dharmendra Ojha,
Essbase rule file does not constrain you with only 20 fileds.
When you click on 'create a rule file', by default it ll show you 20 fileds .But , when you open a data file ( in your case , you data file has 30 columns i.e 30 fields) in the data prep editor , you ll see all 30 fileds .
So ,you have to do nothing to increase the filed count , rule file will automatically show all fields .
