Countless Errors publishing to mobileme.

This past week I've had numerous errors trying to publish my website to mobileme.
My iWeb starts up perfectly fine, everything runs good.
When I try to publish my website from iWeb, the pages create fine and everything seems to be going smooth, HOWEVER, when it is about to finish, I get an Error saying that "Check your internet connection, there is no internet connection"
I turned off my WiFi and connected my macbook straight to the Ethernet cable to ensure Internet connectivity.
Is there any way I can publish my website to a folder and upload it to iDisk or something?
Can someone please help why I can not publish my website to mobileme? Thank you!

Finally someone else with this problem. I have had the same thing happen to me since last Friday. Same error message everything. Before Friday it published just fine. I plugged into my network too. I cleared my plist file thing in Library/Preferences. I reinstalled OSX from scratch and wiped the drive. I have tried everything possible to publish to mobile me. iDisk works fine when I upload. I started a new website and got rid of everything else and still get the message. I am so frustrated at this point. I publish to folder and I can manually upload it to mobile me. But I don't like doing that. Anyone else having the same issue as us? Please help!!!

  • Error Publishing to Mobileme from iWeb09 after Snow Leopard Update

I am trying to publish the website i created using iWeb09. I managed to publish it the first time but, when i upgraded to Snow Leopard recently i have been getting an error in publishing site changes and publishing the entire site as well.
I read the other posts on this and have done the following
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
2 - try to log in with a bogus account name and password. This supposedly clears the caches.
3 - log in with the correct account name and password.
4 - launch iWeb and try publishing again.
    close iweb
delete following in your home folder
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.iWeb
    ~/Library/Caches/iWeb/
    empty trash
    shut down and restart
open iweb (which rewrites the deleted files afresh)
choose site and Publish entire site from file menu.
    Nothings worked so far.
    Any help is highy appreciated

You could try asking Apple for help: MobileMe live chat support is now 24/7 — see this announcement. Other Apple support options are here.

  • Publishing to MobileMe Error

I spent 4 hours with 5 different Apple support techs trying to figure out why my site wasn't publishing to my personal domain. I got a lot of different answers, most assuming that my CNAME set up with my domain name's registrar was improperly configured. I was able to view my site at www.web.me.com/myname/mydomain.org/Home.html but NOT at www.mydomain.org. So my site was publishing and viewable but I needed it under mydomain.org, the solution was so simple I don't know how 3 MobileMe techs and one iWeb tech failed to figure it out (MobileMe support agent Bonifacio L. had the answer 5 minutes into our chat)
When you have iWeb open, the bar on the left lists all the sites you've created. The one I was publishing was the last on the list by default (most recently created). I hadn't published any of the other sites, they were all for practice. The solution was to move the site I wanted published to the top of the list and republish it. This instantly fixed my problem and my site is now at mydomain.org.
I just wanted to post this so because I can't imagine I'm the only one to ever have this problem. The fact that it took 5 techs to solve the problem is ridiculous and if I can save somebody else the hassle than maybe it was worth it. I also sent a detailed email to Apple asking them to make sure their techs know this fix.
    Good Luck!

Is this a universal problem at this time?
Welcome to the discussions. Looking at this forum's main list, it appears not. And MobileMe's +"System Status"+ at the upper right HERE currently indicates +"All MobileMe services are online."+

Is that the exact text of the error message you're seeing? If not, perhaps it's this:
"There was an error updating MobileMe"
...which is mentioned in this Apple doc:
    MobileMe: Troubleshooting iWeb publishing issues
And +"A lot of problems can be solved simply by..."+ Read more in the "Fix iWeb" section here:

But before trying such suggestions, read this:

  • IWeb Publish Error - A lock occurred while publishing to MobileMe

iWeb Publish Error - A lock occurred while publishing to MobileMe. Try publishing again later.
I've tried all articles so far on apple support site. Tried on new OS user and publishing to folder and publishing a test page. I still get an error. Publishing to folder works fine, its just when I publish to MobileMe. Also tried different network and restarting computer etc.
    Help me. Thanks.

If you are logged in OK maybe you should look at your Keychain.
    Finer/Go/Utilities/Keychain Access.app.
Try "Keychain First Aid" from the "Keychain Access" drop down menu.

This is to do with the .htaccess file on your server.
You either need to deal with this and open it with an html editor or change your web host.
Do a search of this forum and there are plenty of posts that relate to parse error and .htaccess pages.  Have a look on the right hand side of this post and you will see similar ones like yours.

  • Cannot publish to MobileMe.   Error says, "iWeb couldn't connect to MobileMe. Make sure your Internet connection works and try again."  Connection is OK!

My site will publish to a folder, but will not publish to MobileMe.   Error says, “iWeb couldn’t connect to MobileMe. Make sure your Internet connection works and try again.“  Connection is OK!

Thank you Alancito for your reply.  The recent post you suggested was not necessary because another of your suggestions did the trick:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/11503337#11503337  In effect, it seems to have reestablished my connection to my MobileMe account, and my iWeb site now publishes on MobileMe.
My next step will be to transfer my iWeb site to another Personal Web Provider when MobileMe ceases to exist next June.  Any recommendations for a simple PWP?

  • Error Publishing from iweb 09 - Server or iweb problems??

I upgraded from iweb 08 (I had no issues) to iweb 09, and I have publishing errors more than half the time. Are the mobileme servers having problems, or is there a hack in the iweb software?
This is a big problem because I have 20 Gb of pages with video that I need to re-publish. It is bad enough that I will be tying my network up for 2 weeks, but that I often don't make progress.
The message is "Error connecting to mobileme, check network.. .." The problem is that it uploads for an hour or so before it stops.. I am double checking to see if my routing is causing the problem, but I don't think so..
Is Apple working on this? Are there numerous people who are now stuck re-publishing their sites and the servers are getting beat up? Does anyone know how to diagnose this type of problem?

Finally i solved the issue of Publishing Error in iWeb 09 with MobileMe.
Procedure which i followed and might also help you guys.
Lets say your default site name is XYZ then create a new site e.g. ABC.
Thereafter dragged all pages from default site XYZ to new site ABC ONE BY ONE.
*In the preference folder delete any PLIST files related to iWeb (i had two files in my folder).*
*Once you drag all pages from your default site to new site there after just make a new blank page and publish the site.*
Then start dragging first one page from new site ABC and publish one page. There after repeat all pages one by one and publish after every page you drag from new site ABC to default site XYZ.
Once you finish then take a backup in time machine of the domain.
There after start your blog page then publish again then start photos album page, publish again then your movie page, publish again etc because these are the pages which were mostly creating errors.
After you complete the final page and publish remove the blank page and publish again.
I spent 3 days with the same problem and finally i could finish by this method in few hours.

  • Publishing to MobileMe fails

Not sure what to do here because, MobileMe (formerly dotMac) has worked, all be it slowly, but seamlessly.
I'm trying to publish a modest number of images to a gallery (50 images) prepared for optimized download capabilities. I've done this many, many, many times in the past without issue and typical galleries are several hundred large.
    Order of operations:
Place adjusted images in a MobileMe Gallery and select sync
Aperture's Activity monitor shows that syncing is taking place, percentages climb as syncing moving forward, until...
Then at 100% sync, there is a hang and after a period of time, I get the message:
"An error occurred with the publication of album "Cheri Abrams" - Request to the server http://publish.me.com failed.
It is clear that Aperture has published an empty gallery with the name I gave to the gallery I was attempting to publish evidenced by visiting my MobileMe Gallery Albums page.
Can anyone point me in a direction to fix this?
Note: I know about not using stacks when publishing and I've also tried the work around of opening MobileMe preferences in Aperture while trying to publish as several others have documented that for some reason that little dance works.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Wait until the storm is over
Verify in 'System Preferences / MobilMe / Account' that your are logged in to MobileMe,
Locate the file 'com.apple.iWeb.plist' in 'user(you) / Library / Preferences' , delete it (after making a Back-Up ! So that you can restore it if this tip doesn't work for you),
    Open iWeb,
Verify that iWeb is logged in to MobileMe,
    Do a 'publish to MobileMe'
    Does that work ?

  • Cannot publish to MobileMe - "Cannot Connect To Server"

I want to publish some of my albums to MobileMe, but when I try to do so I get an error message the the effect that it cannot connect to the server. I have published several other albums successfully, but I have three that won't make the journey no matter what I do. The album "placeholder" is established in MobileMe, but they contain no pictures.
What I do is to open the album in Aperture, then "select all" of the pictures in that album, then attempt to publish to MobileMe by clicking the MobileMe icon in the menu bar.
This has happened repeatedly for several attempts. Any ideas?

I've had that once. I used the same name for 2 images. Aperture handles it no problem, but I couldn't upload it to mobile me... After renaming 1 of the images the problem was solved...

  • Re-starting "Publish to Mobileme"

I have a small clip I sent through Compressor under the "Publish to MobileMe" template. Compressor ran out the files just fine, but failed on the upload to Mobileme. I would like to continue the publishing job, as I prefer having one presenting file with the choice of small, medium, or large as opposed to just having three similarly named files laying around in the gallery (as would happen if I simply slung them up to my gallery]). Any ideas how to restart the post-compressing bit of this template? I assume it's an automator file lying around somewhere, but danged if I can find it, or figure out how to access it.
    Many thanks
    Richard Wagner

So, I was running into this exact thing. I googled and found this thread. Then I found this Apple TS article (yeah, it's about aperture): http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3102
Looking in the Batch Monitor log, I saw this:
    <mrk tms="299207202.431" tmt="06/25/2010 18:06:42.431" pid="4236" kind="end" what="service-request" req-id="BLAHBLAHBLAHGINGERYEAHIEDITEDIT:1" msg="Postprocessing job request error (exception=Publishing to MobileMe Failed: Internal Server Error)."></mrk>
    Note quite right, but close.
I removed the existing album of the same name, and it worked.
I'd love to confirm this is a solution, but figure it might be a while before I publish to MobileMe, and wanted to let anyone know who might behaving this problem to give that a try.

  • Error Publishing Podcast to ITunes using IWeb

I am getting the following error publishing my podcast to Itunes using Iweb.
We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad http result code: 500
When I checked the rss.xml doc that iweb generates, it is very different from what itunes gives as an example. Do you guys plan on making your software match to the Itunes requirements so that it will post. I can edit and upload the xml file, but when iweb publishes again it will simply change it back to the wrong file.
Is there an update coming? What should I do?

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems that from GarageBand the only podcast option is to send it to iWeb. The option exists: "send song" to iTunes, but not "send podcast" directly to iTunes. I don't know if there's a meaningful difference between "song" and "podcast," but I've decided to wait.
I contacted Apple (apparently I haven't yet exhausted my free tech-support options since the purchase of this MacBookPro) and was told that the problem is most likely with iTunes. We'll see what the iTunes team has to say...
Further info I've learned: the audio podcast episode somehow got converted to a ".mov" file somewhere along it's path from being created in GarageBand to it's submission to iTunes. This is still a mystery to me as I specifically chose "MP3" when sending the episode from GarageBand to iWeb. Apple tech-support has passed me along the chain to the iTunes folks who only do tech support via email. So we'll see...

  • I updated iTunes from the update message and now my Windows computer (at work- I use Mac at home) keeps sending me error messages about MobileMe and iTunes. It indicates a .dll error but I can't find any such file. I tried removing the entire ITunes app.

I downloaded an update to my iTunes app on my work Windows computer and now I am constantly getting error messages about MobileMe, when I download a webpage and marked slowness of my Outlook application. I tried removing iTunes and reloading directly from the Apple site, but no change. One of my peers is having the same issue and messages.
    Any suggestions?

  • ICal not publishing to MobileMe

    Simple problem:
Trying to publish my home calendars to MoblieMe.
When I select a calendar from ON MY MAC, then select CHANGE LOCATION and choose PUBLISH ON MOBILEME, then hit PUBLISH ... it says the calendar has been published.
But when I choose VISIT PAGE, I get a dialogue box with the message "We're sorry but we cannot find the iCal you've requested. It's possible that it has been deleted or renamed."
Sure enough, no matter how many times I hit SYNC or PUBLISH (in any number of ways) ... the calendar never shows up.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks muchly,

Unfortunately, I am also seeing this annoying Apple bug.... Published an iCal calendar to the web, to "MobileMe" as iCal offers, whereupon it proudly announces the URLs to subscribe or view the calendar... each link leads to:
We're sorry but we cannot find the iCal you've requested.
It's possible that it has been deleted or renamed.
A similar false announcement is made when you publish a movie from iMovie to YouTube, where Apple announces the movie is published and you wait an hour assuming YouTube it taking its time, only to find out the movie never uploaded. That one can blame on YouTube (third party) making some change Apple (still?) does not know about... but iCal on a Mac publishing to an Apple service giving the same false positives is beyond lame.

  • Error Publishing Policy

Hi, I encountered an error when publishing a policy to the clients. The error message is displayed in a dialog box after clicking on "Publish".
"The Management Console was unable to complete the policy assignment. The requested policy assignment has been queued and will be replicated to the Distribution Service during the next scheduled synchronization interval. To review your configured synchronization intervals open the configuration window from the Tools menu."
Can anyone explain the cause and how to resolve it? Thanks.

I never saw that error. Default values for infrastructure settings are fine for most implementations.
Anyway, keep posting if you have problems.

  • Error while publishing a service with WSPUBLISH: Error publishing Endpoint

    Hallo,
I've a problem while publishing a service which a had created via proxy. I configured the service and one endpoint (binding) in SOAMANAGER. When I publish the service in WSPUBLISH I get the error:
    'Error publishing Endpoint for SD : <Proxy>, Service : <Service>, EP : <Endpoint>.
    with details:
'10160A save request exceeded the quantity limits for a given structure type .#Number of BusinessEntities exceeds your limit of 1 (2)'
In the Service Registry I can find the service but without endpoints.
Does anybody know what happend ?
We use a SAP NetWeaver 7.10 with SP05 (SAPKB71005) but the same error happens if I publish a service from a CRM 5.0 with SP15 (SAPKB70015) to the Service Registry of the 7.10

This is my steps to publish ES to SR:
    1. Create RFC destination in SM59
    2. Create ES Parameter in WSPARAM
    3. Create logical port for SR in LPCONFIG
    4. Release Web Service for SOA Runtime in WSCONFIG
    5. Publish ES in WSPUBLISH.
When i was using SOAMANAGER to manually create the endpoint, the endpoint in the SR doesnt works though.
eg,  Business Administration -> WS Administration -> Search for CRM_BPBASICDATABYIDQR -> Apply selection -> Configuration -> Create Service -> enter new service name and new binding name -> user id/password  for HTTP Authentication -> save.
It works after i released it in WSCONFIG (ya, i know it's old way) and re-publish.
