Country and timezone info on business card?

Lately I saw a thread on ALT texts for the flag image on the business card.
In addition to that I would like to suggest that the country name and timezone are printed next to the flag. Knowing the timezone of other posters may help to steer expectations about response times.

Actually in an odd way I like looking up flags, it has a little educational value in it. Without SCN I wouldn't be able to tell you off the top of my head that Iceland is a blue flag with a red cross.
A quick trick for flags is r-click -> properties, get two letter iso code from end of address (use mouse selection to scroll to end), look up in T005 if necessary.
However I think the timezone is an excellent suggestion! Perhaps also with an offset to one's own timezone?
Cheers,
Mike

  • Send and receive contacts as business cards

Hi! Can anyone help me on how to send contacts as business cards? ...and how to receive\accept them?

Thanks Dave, BUT the "Share Contact" only sends the details to an email address and not to a another phone number. When I select the Share option it goes straight to email and does not give any other choices such as the vCard you mention which I am familiar with when I was using Nokia.

  • SMS forwarding, send to many and ability to receive business card

Does anyone know if apple is going to fix these problems? Thought that by now it should have been released already with software upgrade as these are basic functions in a mobile!

Not possible at the moment, however pop over to the link below and make a request

  • APIs for Country lookup values and Timezone lookup values

    Hi,
We are developing a J2EE application for remote user management in EP.
We want to query the lookup values for country and timezone (required when we create user). Are there any APIs that would return these values when called from our J2EE application?
Also let me know if there are any workarounds?
    Thanks and regards,
    Pratik H. Thakkar

    Hi Guys,
By using Java API, I got 239 countries on Windows 2K professional. Whereas in EP there are 233 countries. Also the names are not matching for eg: American Samao is missing in my local machine.
    Please help.

  • Business card scanner and Snow Leopard?

Is anyone using one successfully? Recommendations?
I see that CardScan for Mac was designed for Leopard -- unsure if it works with Snow Leopard.
I have a large and growing pile of business cards I'd like to feed into one of these things.
    Thanks,
    George

Why not open a free Dropbox account and take a photo of the business card and upload it? No OCR capabilities with that though.

  • Printing 2 sided business cards

purchased C4780 specifically to print biz cards-using Avery cards.  there are 2 sides to the card, but am printing 1 side at a time.,but the printer does not start at the same spot-does not matter which side I do first--does not matter if I select borderless or not..1 side will always start at the edge of the sheet-so most of the info ends up mis-aligned to the other side--have gone thru entire list of "feed" fixes/solutions-spent hrs online with support--anyone got an idea?

First of all double sided printing set-up from Illustrator is something that is very specific to the printer you are using, so you'd need to refer to your printer's user documentation to review the correct settings. Having said that the steps you take are very similar for all printers.
Here are some steps that might be of help:
The easiest way to this is probably to place the front and back of the business cards on two separate artboards, for example Artboard 1 for the front of the cards and Artboard 2 for the back of the cards. Use the Artboards panel (Window > Artobards) add a second artboard of you've not yet got front and back on separate sheets.
In the File > Print dialog box, in the General section ensure that 'All' Artboards are selected or define the Artboards Range to print if you have more than two artboards in your Illustrator file.
You might also want to enable Trim Marks (Marks and Bleed section) so you can easily trim the cards after printing.
You can access your printer specific settings, such as duplex or double sided printing by clicking 'Setup...' at the bottom of the Print dialog box in Illustrator.
Mostly you'll find an option you can enable called 'Double Sided'  or 'Two Sided'.
There will also be a second option for either Long Edge or Short Edge binding. For a portrait artboard you'd select Long-edge, for a landscape artboard you'd select Short Edge.
Once you've set the Setup specific to your printer click OK and you'll return to the Illustrator Print dialog box, from where you can now print.
You might need to tweak the position of your 'back' a little if your printer doesn't print perfectly registered.

  • PIXMA MG6320 Double Sided Business Cards Not Printing Correctly

I just set up and used the PIXMA MG6320 for the first time.  Prints regular prints fine but I tried to use inkjet double sided business cards and something when very wrong.  The paper seems the same on both sides.  The brand is Avery.  Side one prints great but side two prints as if there is a plastic finish on the paper.  I left the ink to dry over night and it never did.  Also, the image is terrible when it does print.  As if its on a slippy surface but the paper seems the same flat finsih on both sides.  Its not about double sided printing becasue when I sent side 2 through first, it did the same thing.

  • Do I retain my previous app purchases if I migrated to a different country? (thus changing the credit card)

I'd migrated to a new country and obtained a new credit card. I changed my associated credit card with the new one I obtained and understandably I have to switch to the current country App Store as well.
However, I found that I could no longer redownload purchases I'd made using my old credit card and found it to a little unfair. Is there any other way to get back my previously bought apps? Thank you.

Why would you start another account?
You cannot transfer purchases to another account.

  • Business Cards in Pages

I am trying to make business cards in pages, and have one done. I would like to have the rest the same, and copying and pasting all the parts is too time intensive

    Hi Sweetpea,
Menu > File > New from Template Chooser... > Page Layout > Blank Canvas
This is portrait format. The canvas will allow you to place and move Text Boxes (it mimics a drawing app).
Menu > Insert > Text Box. Create one business card.
Menu > View > Show Layout. Drag the Text box to just inside the margin (grey fill):
With the Text Box selected, Menu > Edit > Copy (command c). Then Paste and drag the second business card to the right. The blue alignment guide will help you. Now two business cards:
Select both and Menu > Arrange > Group. Copy then Paste. Drag the copy down and paste repeatedly until you fill a page. Dragging the first pasted pair sets the spacing for subsequent pastes.
    Regards,
    Ian.

If you are just visiting Singapore, then leave the account as it is. If you have moved there, then view your account using the iTunes app on a Mac or PC and change the country/region to your current location and address. If you do not have a bank card, you can fund your account using iTunes gift cards if available in Singapore.
