Country codes and contacts

Hello,
Traveling to the UK soon and am adding the contact info for our lodging, etc into my contact list. I have a Verizon iPhone 4S with an international sim unlock and plan on getting a pay-as-you-go sim with a local number when we arrive. The question is, How should I set up the numbers in my contact list? Should they be entered as local numbers or using the country code (+44)?
Thanks in advance.
KV
P.S. Verizon's customer service when I requested the unlock was quite good and they didn't pressure or even ask if I would rather get their international calling plan!

Thank you for explaining it.  I do travel a lot on business and because of the roaming charges I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4S and use local Sim cards most of the time.  when I am in the US like right now, I use a Tmobile card only because AT&T will not sell me a card without a contract and I am not here long enough to make that investment worthwhile.  The downside is that I only get Edge data but most of the time that is better than going without data.
What I do to have my home phone available is put my local Sim Card for my home country in my old iPhone 4 locked to my carrier and have roaming data turned off in that one.  I use the Tmobile to make calls and receive them from US contacts and the iPhone 4 to receive calls from international contacts.
To address your question finally, I always keep all contacts from everywhere with a + sign in front which gets me international access in all countries, then the country code and then the local number.  I keep my contacts list synced in both phones, iPad and 2 macs through iCloud.  there is no problem dialing and reaching local contacts that way even though you don't need to, but it is convenient so that you can access those contacts from everywhere directly from your contacts list.
For example, all my US contacts are written +1(212)1234567, my UK contacts +44123456789, my French contracts +33123456789, etc. and therefore, theynworknfrom everywhere.
I guess I will now investigate whether Verizon will sell me a local US sim with 4G data to use in the US on a monthly plan or better still a pay as you go plan.

I have an issue with Text Messages and call lists, in my blackberry Z10 (STL100-2), which is, If I have not saved my contact numbers without country code, the msg may appear in local formate (w/o country code), and it also appear as International formate (another times), and though the number is same (only saperate is country code) in the hub, it appear as two conversation. for eg: if I sent txt to 9899100 (w/o country code), reply used to come as +960-9899100. or vice-versa.
So its very difficult. and here i came for help.

The movies were all on my SD card. They are also not backed up by Link which is why had them synced to my phone as a poor man's backup.
So either Link did not backup the necessary licensing information in the main memory of my phone, or Link did not synchronize the necessary licensing information off my SD card. Either way I am stuck with 3 movies that I cannot play, because I can no longer find them in the BlackBerry World store to re-dowbload whatever licensing information is needed.
I even just tried a media restore from Link because it was 138 MB in size (and in don't normally store anything on my phone's main storage), but alas no licensing information was restored.

    Kelvin,
If you know the table which is having ISO Country Code or ISO Currency code, then go to that table and clik on GRAPHIC(ctrlShiftf11) which will give the foreign key relationships.I guess checking all those table displayed in the graphic will give you some lead.

The said field (WAERS) can be fetched from many tables.  To name a few, below are some of the tables in which, you can see the field for currency.

I'd like to program a LOCAL ACCESS NUMBER, then insert a WAIT or a PAUSE function, followed by a constant string of numbers [international code, country code and the destination phone number]. Dialing the local, US  access number is not an issue, but I can't find any info in the manual on how to insert a WAIT or PAUSE or how to insert the remaining string of international codes and destination phone number. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • I recently moved from the US to Sweden and all my contacts are saved with their international country code prefixes. I keep getting text message errors when I send a text, but the contact info is stored correctly for each. How can I fix this?

I receive an error message that adds the country code again. I tried it with no country code and the area code included but I still receive an error message. It only does it sometimes and not to all Sweden contacts. There is no obvious reason why it does it to some but not others. Does any know what the problem is and how to fix it? Thank you!

Only other thing I can suggest is to reset your phone. This won't touch any data or settings:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

  • Macbook Pro 15 Change Country Code to get 11n and 300 Mbit/s

    Hello All!
I have a question: how can I change Country Code on my MBP 15" to get wi-fi 11n mode and 300 Mbit/s (or at least 130) with my TL-WR1043ND router. I've changed the Region setting in the web interface of my router, but it didn't solve the problem. And there is a wonder but my macbook 13" has Country Code: X2 (sometimes FR) and use 11n mode with transmit rate: 130 Mbit/s. So, as for me, that is very strange dependence — Country Code and Connection Speed.
    System info:
    Router preferences:
    Thanx!

So, I have MBP 15-inch, Mid 2010 and MB 13-inch, Mid 2009. And, as I said before, MB 13 doesn't have the problem with 11g mode, it has Contry Code X2 or sometimes FR, but never UA. And the MB13 is older then the MBP15. Maybe problem is in the router, but I don't know how figure out it. And I don't understand, at all, the dependence Transfer Rate and Country Code — why software is restrict connection speed of hardware?

  • Country name and region name in smartform

    hi friends
    1.  In smart forms I want  to display country name and region name in template text .
can any one help me how could I write code for it and the procedure.
    2.  IN scripts  komk-fwkrt = '1.00.200,32'.
but it should be displayed as 1,00,200.32
how should I make changes for this field?
    thanks and regards
    deepika.

    Hi deepika,
For your first question, I happened to have written similiar codes recently.
If you have the country code and region code, you can read the country name from table T005 and region name from T005s.
You can create a new routine for this and call it from Initialization.
    Hope this helps.

  • Change country codes to get updates?

    Hello everybody!
I have a German N82 (96.01), RM 313, V 20.0.062, black and I would like to do a software update but the PC suite updater and OVI both keep telling me that there are no updates available.
So now i am thinking that this is somehow connected with the country code but I dont even know how the find mine out.
Is there a way to change the phones country code in order to get the software updates? If so, what risks are there by changing the country code and what disadvantages. Tnx a lot in advance.
    cheers

Exactly. Modifying the phone's product code is something that cannot be done with the software provided by Nokia and is an operation that will not only void the phone's warranty but also, potentially, cause Nokia to wash their hands of the phone altogether.
Because it will make the user attempting to perform this operation lose any support for their device, the operation cannot be discussed on these forums.
If you still want to go ahead with it you'll have to use your favourite search engine and find out for yourself how to do it.

  • Avoid Country code in CRM

    HI All,
I am facing issue with Automatic addition of country code to the Phone number which we recieve from Interface. Our client wants Users themselves will add country code and we should disable automatic addition of country code based on Country. I went to Setting under IMG--Sap webapplication server-Set Country codes there I tried to remove country code but then it was disabled for all interface. My problem is for particular interface they want to disable it but for other interface then want CRm to add country code. Can anyone help me with this.
    Many thanks,
    Ashutosh

    Hi Praveen,
There was nothing much we did in CRM. We had XI so we decided to handle it at XI level. Even if CRM adds country code to the number while sending it back XI will chopp off country code and send it to interface.
    Regards,
    Ashutosh
