Coupled contacts - change both at the same time.

I have contacts on my iPhone that are related to my Exchange e-mail accounts. They synchronize just fine.
I also have, mostly the same, contacts on my iPhone, imported from Outlook. They just synchronize one way (FROM outlook TO iphone, not the other way around). By the way, if anybody knows how to sync both ways, I'd be very happy to hear that.
Similar contacts are coupled (I don't know the exact English phrase, in Dutch it's "gebundeld"), so you don't see any duplicates in the Contacts list.
Unfortunately, when I change a "coupled contact", it just changes one of the two contacts that are coupled.
I would love to be able to change both contacts at the same time.
Can this be done? If not, could this be made possible? Please?

Upgrade and change plan at the same time

My husband and I have phones on the old Family Talk plan. We want to upgrade to iphones and at the same time, switch to the More Everything plan. I can't seem to find a way to do this. When I start with the upgrades I am only given the option to add data to our current plan, not to change the plan completely. Do I change the plan first, then come back and upgrade or vice versa?

Try voice chatting with a rep on Verizon's website. It's under contact toward bottom of page. I would think you need to change the plan first then the phones, but I would check with them.

Can you have Firefox and IE browsers both at the same time and if so, do you have the choice of choosing one for a default browser?

I am using IE Explorer now presently. I want to be able to download and install the SEO Blogger tool from Wordtracker but it says that I have to have Firefox as the browser. Since I have everything else already set up under IE, I don't want to have to change all that just so I can download one program.

You can have both browsers installed and running at the same time. You can also choose what one to have as the default browser.

IPad charging in car and connection to CD changer unit at the same time

Firstly, this is my first post here, so apologies if my post is either considered rude or unto wards in any fashion. Apologies also if this question has been covered elsewhere - I have searched the forums to sone extent, but cannot guarantee that I haven't missed something!
I'm looking for a splitter cable for in-car use with the iPad.
The specifics of my car stereo are as such :
no bluetooth
No AUX either.
I have a CD Changer connect at the rear of the car head unit, to which is attached a factory installed cable. This cable is CD Changer plug for the car stereo end, going to 30-pin connector at the other end.
This is a perfect solution for my old iPod photo - it allows me to control the iPod via the car stereo, AND charge the iPod at the same time.
However...
I have an iPad 2 which I would like to use in place of the iPod photo. I wish to plug the iPod (Music app) into the car stereo, and use one of the GPS apps, AND charge the iPad 2 all at the same time.
There is not enough juice coming from the car stereo to allow me to do all this concurrently, as you will probably be aware. If my car journeys were short, I would not be too worried, but I often use the car for journeys that are longer than 10 hours. The iPad, with the GPS and iPod apps running at the same time, will not remain "alive" for this amount of time - the longest I've managed is about 6 and a half hours before the iPad runs out of juice.
So I'm looking for a splitter that I can slot into the dock connection of the iPad and will split into USB for the cigar lighter and into a 30 pin (female) that will go to the 30 pin (male) connector that runs to the CD Changer port on the car stereo.
In other words (and I hope this diagram works) :

I have looked everywhere on line, have contacted various cable suppliers (such as USBFever) but up 'till now I have had no joy.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know where to start, not being terribly technically minded. And I'm not sure that this would be an economic resolution - would this involve buying soldering irons etc.? And would I be able to be sure that I wouldn't mess something up, and cause overheating/other damage to the iPad itself?
Surely this must be a fairly common problem, however? I'm sure that I'm not the only one looking for such thing??

How can I record a microphone and software instrument at the same time in Garageband 10.0.1? It seems I can record one or the other, but not both at the same time?

I am trying to record a vocal mic and a keyboard (using a software instrument) at the same time using Garageband 10.0.1. It seems that I can't record the mic input and the software instrument at the same time. I can record the mic input by itself, and I can record the software instrument by itself (if I don't have a mic input track created), but I can't record them together.
It seems like this should be an obvious thing to be able to do, but I can't figure out how to make it work.
Can someone help?

Moving apps, their data from one ipad to another AND changing/deleting at the same time!

I would like to get ready for my new iPad. Over time I have accumalated a LOT of Apps which I don't use or would like to organize differently.
Others (games or internal documents/settings) I would like to leave intact. Is there a way to choose what to import and maybe already pre-sort?
I know of the restore feature from a specific backup (used that in the past) that DOES keep the data intact but does not allow for my organizing/spring cleaning scenario...
I was thinking directly of the new Apple configurator tool. I could import my iPad profile, and based on that choose apps to keep (and their data) or delete in a first step. Even better would be if I could then group them in folders or screens BEFORE I sync this new profile to my new iPad.
This would also be ideal to manage backups and different setups for family members when we do the family shuffle.. I upgrade, hand my old device to my better half, she hands her to X family member etc., etc.
My issue is that the help menu of the configurator toll indicates it works only for volume bought applications. Is this right? Why the restriction?
Main concern of course is not installing the application on a specific device BUT to copy the app (AND internal data) exactly to another one!
I'm surprised that Apple hasn't adressed these issues better but maybe they did with this new tool (or another way) and I just don't see/understand it.

My problem is a little different. I would like to selectively sync apps and maybe change/add/delete folders and app screens.
I know how to "clone/restore" the iPad. I was hoping that I could maybe use the Apple confugurator for this purpose and customize my apps based on an import from the old iPad. As such weeding out old apps and not having to use the cumbersome iTunes method but at the same time protecting my backed up data.
It could also simplify data transfer if I could create multiple profiles/people from which I can choose who to sync/transfer to a specific iDevice.
But thanks for taking your time and providing a solution to transfer all files from one device to another.

How to check 6 digital signals change value at the same time with PCI-6229??

I am using DAQ card PCI-6229.
Channel 1 generate a digital signal.
Channel 2,3,4,5,6,7 acquire digital signals.
I want to check:
1. Whether the rising edge of Channel 2,3,4,5,6,7 occures at the same time;
2. The time delay from the rising edge of Channel 1 to the rising edge of Channel 2,3,4,5,6,7 is within a certain range.
I know I can use counter to get the two edge seperation time delay. But I only have two counter, it is two time-consuming if I check one by one.
I don't know how to check the rising edge of 6 different channels occure at the same time.
Does anyone has any suggestions?

You can use the DAQ card's digital input change detection circuitry to detect changes in the input, you can then use a counter to measure the relative time between samples. Please read Page 6-9 DI Change Detection Applications for more information. Let me know if this helps

Dual DVDRW Drive burning on both at the same time

In the mac pro that would have 2 dvdrw drives in it, is it possible to burn the same data to each drive at the same time?
within the os it self or with 3rd part software

Definitely with 3rd party software, unsure about Disc Utility / iTunes / other.
BUT, the optical drives are on a PATA bus (Master / Slave) so they share the same bandwidth through the ATA-133 controller. Low speed burning would be a doddle. High speed burning may cause issues - I know high speed burning for drives like these requires the ATA-133 bus (over the ATA-100 bus) even when you just burn using one drive (see specs for Pioneer drives on their website), so two drives at high speed would strain to get data fast enough. You can but try, and while burning two DVDs at 16x in parallel may be too much, burning at 8x in parallel may be OK, and that is still fast enough for most of us.
Just as a note, I tried, (using Toast) a few months ago, to burn a large number of CDs and DVDs. I found it took me longer to prep the burn, document what I had burned and label the disks than the actual burn took - so although I could burn in parallel I didn't gain any time advantage over burning a single disc at a time.

Although possibly not related to your problem, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. On top of this, it has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and usability. As for your problem, make sure your instructing Firefox to open the link in a new tab. For example, middle-clicking (pressing the mouse wheel or the central button of the mouse) the link will open it in a new tab.
If that doesn't help, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Internet AND Airtunes, is it possible both at the same time??

Here's the set-up:
I have a wireless router from my IP.
It broadcasts Wi-Fi for the 2 computers in the house.
No problems with that.
Then I have an Airport Express connected to my home sound system for it to play iTunes via Airtunes. For that to happen, I need to choose the "Apple Network 07xxxx" in the Airport Menu, disconnecting from the internet router.
So no internet while iTunes is playing via Airtunes...
I tried to connect to my internet wireless router with AX but it won't.
It not only doesn't connect to my IP's router, saying that on restart it doesn't find the desired wireless network and goes on blinking yellow. Then I need to re-configure the whole thing to use it only as a receiver for my amplifier...
It's pretty annoying since my 2 laptops, iPhone and any other device that comes in my home can connect without any problems to the internet router but the AX doesn't.
Is it possible to steam iTunes to an amplifier AND surf the net simultaniously via AX??
If so, what am I doing wrong ???

Yes.
Here are the basic steps to configure the AX as a wireless client for streaming iTunes:
Either connect to the AX's wireless network or connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then using the AirPort Utility in "Manual Setup" mode, make the following changes:
Note: During the setup phase, you may want to temporarily place the AX near your existing wireless router to be sure it gets a good signal from it. After successfully reconfiguring it, you can move it to its desired location.
AirPort > Wireless
o Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network
o Network Name: <existing wireless network>
o Wireless Security: <select the encryption type of the existing wireless network>
o Wireless Password: <enter the existing wireless network password>
o Verify Password: <re-enter the existing wireless network password>
Music
o Enable AirTunes (checked)
o iTunes Speaker Name: <enter desired speaker name>
o iTunes Speaker Password: (optional)
o Verify Password: (optional)
o Click Update to write the new settings to the AX
In iTunes:
iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
o Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)
