Cover Art for CDS/DVDs

Greetings
I know there is a way to make cover art for DVDs in this program. I am looking to makes there anything on the G5 I can use to make CD cover art? OR can someone suggest a good program I can download, preferably free?
Thank you kindly

I've been using a program called Discus from www.magicmouse.com . They have a downloadable demo. The program is $30US, however I had ordered the upgrade from Discus RE for $20 and I didn't even have it installed and it loaded just fine both on my Mac and PC. It's very easy to use and they have a lot of templates, they also support direct cd printing for epson printers.

    Hello,
    I use PageStream...

If it's not creating the art, but just the layout, might try Libre Office...

  • I've always wanted to obtain and have perfect resolutioned cover art for my albums. I have been and downloaded albums from the iTunes store, and they come with really great cover art. How can I get cover art as precise and clean as the albums have on ther

My problem mainly concerns cover art.
There have been times when I downloaded albums from the iTunes store to find its cover art it is absolutely beautiful, and is absolutely 100% un stretched. Whereas when I have gotten images for a specific album from Google Images it's terribly pixelated and totally disgusting.
Is there a way for me to obtain cover art for my albums that is has clarity equal to the cover art on the iTunes store albums.
Or will it basically boil down to I can only get that cover art by downloading my albums off the store?

The old iTunes libraries do not restore any playlists or song counts.
They should you if you do the roll back properly... Opening files from the Previous iTunes Libraries folder in Windows Explorer simply opens the current library. If you don't see the .itl file extension then don't give your copied and renamed file the extention or iTunes will create an empty library rather than using the renamed file.
If you had a complete pre-problem backup of your library you could restore that. On the assumption that isn't possible I have a script called ExportImport that could in principle be adjusted to save the relevant data from a backup of the library database and then reimport that data into the current library. See this thread for details.

Sorry for not getting back with you...
That moves only the iTunes media, not the iTunes library (which is really kinda nebulous).
iTunes library = iTunes folder and all the media, wherever it is located.
The /Music/iTunes/ folder contains the iTunes library.itl file, which keeps track of everything in iTunes.
I do however still have the original MAIN startup drive still in the computer, it's just not the startup.
This is good you still have it.
    Try this...
    Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library... and select the /iTunes/ folder on the original drive. It should be in /Users/your_user_name/Music/.
Don't mess with anything. We can get it cleared up.
    Does everything work okay?

  • Print the Cover Art for  a Movie DVD Box

I paid a bunch of money for an independent movie on the iTunes store. It downloaded quickly and easily transfered onto a DVD. So far, so good. When I hit Conrol I on the line item that shows this Movie in my Movie catalog I get a typical Hollywod movie poster. Title of the movie, a still shot, names of the actors, studio logos and all that.
The question is: How do I get that cover art to print out so I can put it in front of my DVD jewel box?
    Thanks

Time consuming, but do a backup and restore, then re-load all your music.  That is really the only reliable method to get your artwork database corrected.

  • Where to find cover art for dvd

I am new to front row & would like to know where in the dvd folder to find the cover art so it displays in front row? I can play the movie but do not have the preview picture. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Front Row does not support displaying DVD artwork. Movies which are downloaded from iTunes (as well as music videos and TV shows) support a key frame or "poster" frame which displays as a preview, but this is a feature of QuickTime. Since the DVD player is capable of remembering the last time you stopped playing a DVD and saving bookmarks, I would think you'd be able to alter the DVD Player application so you can choose a key frame or "poster" frame manually. I would suggest you send Apple some Mac OS X feedback and request this feature.

  • Complement on Cover Art for Main Lightroom Page

Would really like to complement Adobe on the cover art found on the main Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 marketing page. Very understated, professional, elegant.
Just found it extemely interesting. The stark contrast in marketing style from before. A class act. Very nice!

  • Cover art for pdf books in ibook library

Hi have tried for days to get covers on my pdf books that are in my ibook library but i can't find the answer. Have tried various methods and it is driving me insane!!! Have tried calibre, get the cover but when i try and open the book nothing happens, have tried to add a page to the pdf document but there is nowhere to let me insert a page, have read loads of things on google but nothing is working. Please help it would be greatly appreciated.
    thanx

If you have a Mac computer, you can just open your PDF in preview and drag a picture into the sidebar to make it the first page then save it.
If you only have Windows computer, you can use acrobat full version to edit your PDF file.
Or you can convert cover art picture to PDF format, then combine it with book PDF file by some PDF merge tool.

  • My Cover Art for our podcast isn't showing up

We've tried everything, and it seems to be linked in there as much as it can be, but it just won't show up in the itunes store. I've put the link to our feed below
    http://chunkyglasses.com/podcastjournal/rss.xml
This is coming out of Squarespace, and they are telling me that everything is OK with the feed, so I don't know why it just won't work. Maybe run it through feedburner and try and submit that?
    Help!

    Roger,
So it didn't show up, and i've resubmitted the feed. I've tried to get an answer from Apple but they keep pushing me back to the FAQ. Is this the correct tag for the cover art image?

  • My master cover art for "The Circus Life Podcast" isn't showing up in the store, only the podcast library.  Can anyone help?

I just uploaded my new podcast, "The Circus Life Podcast" to iTunes via Libsyn.  The master artwork for the show itself is not showing up in the store, only the library in the podcast app once you have subscribed.  Me and my partner can't for the life of us figure out what to do.  The RSS feed was submitted and approved over a week ago and still the artwork isn't show.  Can anyone help?

Yes I work at libsyn.   rob (at) libsyn (dot) com.
Below are specs from Apple for artwork.  They don't mention the 500kb limit - but it seems at least for .jpg images - any we have seen issues with that meet all the other requirement are over 500 kb - and lowering the file size was able to get them working.
But per CMYK - that definitely will not work on the iTunes store.  Change your artwork to RGB - get the file size down below 500kb - and reupload to libsyn - with a new file name and your artwork should show up in 1 to 5 days.

    <itunes:image>
This tag specifies the artwork for your podcast. Put the URL to the image in the href attribute. iTunes prefers square .jpg images that are at least 1400x1400 pixels, which is different from what is specified for the standard RSS image tag. In order for a podcast to be eligible for an iTunes Store feature, the accompanying image must be at least 1400x1400 pixels.
iTunes supports images in JPEG and PNG formats with an RGB color space (CMYK is not supported). The URL must end in ".jpg" or ".png". If the <itunes:image> tag is not present, iTunes will use the contents of the RSS image tag.
If you change your podcast’s image, also change the file’s name. iTunes may not change the image if it checks your feed and the image URL is the same. The server hosting your cover art image must allow HTTP head requests for iTS to be able to automatically update your cover art.
Spend some time developing an attractive, original image that represents your podcast well. Potential subscribers will see it on your podcast’s page and a much smaller version of the image in search results and feature placements. Make sure your design is effective in both sizes.
The <itunes:image> tag is also supported at the episode level. For best results, we recommend using the <itunes:image> tag at the item level as well as embedding the same art within the media file’s metadata. To embed art within an individual episode’s metadata using iTunes, select the episode and choose Get Info from the File menu. Click the Artwork tab. Then click Add, navigate to and select the image file, and click Choose.

  • Can't get Album Art for CDs

I ripped a bunch of CDs to Windows Media Player and it got the album art for all of them. Then later I installed iTunes and it automatically converted the songs over to it from WMP, but iTunes did not get the album art and it says that it is not available when I click on "Get Album Art." What do I do?

Not a complete answer, but will get you most of the art work you need.
Find the album on the Internet. I usually try Amazon.com, puretracks.com, or any site that will let you right click and save the art work shown. Use the "Save As" and save it as a "jpg" file. Make sure you put it in a location, and give it a name you can find.
Open iTunes, find the album and right click on it. Click on "Get Info", go to the "Artwork" tab, and click on "Add". Brows to the location where you saved the artwork and add it.
If you have more that one song in the same album you can add the same artwork to each song by right clicking on the artwork just imported and selecting copy. Go to the next song's artwork and right click and select past.
Not the best, but after I find the album I can add the artwork to all the songs in an album in less that two minutes.
It is taking a little work, but I am slowly overcoming the stupidity of the Apple programmers who wrote iTunes. It is a fairly good program, but it could be much better if Apple would make it easier for users to submit suggestions, and if they incorporated the popular suggestions. Unfortunately Apple has always had an arrogant attitude and they are not likely to change any time soon.

  • Wrong Cover Art For Complete Led Zeppelin...

This is frustrating. I just purchased the complete Led Zeppelin from Itunes and it gives me the Led Zeppelin I cover art instead of the Black Zoso Cover.... How can I get this cover...?

You can always search for it yourself on Amazon, Google images, etc. Download a version you like and then manually add the artwork yourself.

  • After "upgrading" to ios 7.02, why did I lose most cover art for music albums?

(ios 7.02 on iphone 4s, Windows 7 itunes) Happened on first synch after upgrade. Found no real solution searching through forum. What happened? How do I restore these - the artwork is still in itunes? The answer that I should delete more than 70 albums from itunes and reimport them is not a solution.

    Hi garobinson51,
I finally managed to solve this annoying issue on my iPad 3 with iOS 7 (7.0.2)
I tried editing the info of a song from within iTunes 11 with no luck. I also tried playing a song from an album or an entire album with no luck as well.
Finally, while I was "playing" with my iTunes library I added a new album to the iPad and it actually kept the right cover art. This led me to think that the root cause of the issue is with some metadata that the iPad keeps between iOS versions and is not even reset during a Settings->General->Reset->Reset all settings (I had to reset all settings to solve another annoying problem with the Music app where songs were not actually sorted).
At that point, from within iTunes, I tried removing a single artist from my iPad (I'm not synching the whole iTunes library, but only selected albums and artists), synching, adding it back and synching again. It actually worked.
Please note that you may have to close and reopen the Music app to see the cover art.
It may eventually help trying to remove all music from the iPad through Settings->General->Usage->Storage:Music (just swipe left on "All music" and select "Delete") and then synching the music back from your computer, but I've not tried it since the problem was solved with the other method.
I really think that this version of iOS 7 tried to preserve to many information and settings between installations and this led to an overall instability for the device/app. Moreover it also added confusion to the end user changing the way many things used to work (e.g. Music app layout, library sorting, artist pictures download from iTunes Match, etc) and letting many new features go undocumented (i.e. you'll learn them only through usage and practice. The manual doesn't cover them).
I really hope this helps you to fix your cover art issue. It didn't have to reimport all the albums, but simply cleaned their info from the iPad and added them back.

  • Cover art for songs will not "save" in iTunes 7

The songs on my PC have corrected tags, lyrics and an associated picture (cover art). When I import all the songs into iTunes, many do not indicate that they have any cover art. The lyrics and the tag are ok. I used the Ctrl+i to manually add the cover art and it seems OK. When I exit the "Get Info" box, and go back into the same song, the cover art is missing, again. I also did the drag-and-drop method into the artwork viewer at the lower left. It seems to work OK too until I change songs, then it goes MIA. I have compared the jpg pixel sizes and file sizes to some that work but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Help!

See this thread for a (brief) discussion of the issue you're probably seeing. iTunes does not properly handle ID3v2 tags which are larger than 127 bytes (which includes pretty much any image). The reason it works when you add the album art in iTunes is because it saves the information in your iTunes Library file rather than in the ID3 tags.
