Cover art gets lost between 2 Macs

Hi,
I'm importing my whole CD collection to have it playable on iMac with FrontRow. Because of ergonomics and the fact that the iMac is not net connected I'm ripping my CD's on another Mac and then transfering them with USB memory card or with DVD-RW. I have found that if I forget to add the cover art to the album and then try to do it later, the art does not travel with the file ? I'm always copying the iTunes Library file and the .xml file from the user folder with the actual music files. The art that was pasted with the correcsponding ripping file is seen on my iMac just fine, but the art that was added later and though it shows alright with my G5 when transfered to iMac doens't show up there in the FrontRow ? Any ideas what to do ? also FrontRow insists that I have two different folders of one artist (named excactly the same) although iTunes only shows one artist name ?

Depending on the file format you use for importing CDs, artwork is stored inside the audiotracks (or isn't): MP3, AAC: artwork is stored inside the audiotracks; AIFF, Wav: artwork is stored somewhere else.

Movies do not run and cover art is missing in iTunes Mac after sync with iPad

I down load purchased movies from Apple to my iPad. The movies runs fine and cover art is visible. Great. However, after I sync with my Mac Mini, the cover art on my iPad is missing. The cover art in the iTunes library on my Mac Mini is missing, and the movies won't run on the Mac Mini. Whe I re-sync, I get a message that says the movie can't sync because it can't be found.

Is your album cover issue resolved?
If not, have you perhaps tried to disable iTunes Match on your iPhone (in Settings) and signed out of your Apple ID (on the phone)? This might work.
The issue seems to be that the iTunes Match server does not update all the tracks with the new album cover art, particularly if you added the covers some time after importing the CD's (remember then that there was no cover art on some of them!)
Another possible solution is to rename the iTunes database (.itl file) by appending say "old" (without the quotes) and recreate a new one with maybe 1 or 2 albums, wait for the server to match the tracks (you can check on your iPhone after disabling and then re-enabling iTunes Match on the phone), then delete the 1 or 2 albums so that the iTunes music library is empty and wait again; you can check the iPhone again.
Finally, quit iTunes, delete the latest database and rename the original database with its original name (by removing the "old" appendage).
Then let iTunes Match reload the server with all the information: this might take a few minutes (hours?) depending on the size of the library.
In the meantime you can remove all the music on the iPhone by disabling iTunes Match in the phone's settings.

Session getting lost between two applications deployed on two WLS versions.

Jdev version 11.1.1.5.
I am facing an issue of session being getting lost. Let me explain the scenario.
Our client has a legacy application(xyz) running on Web logic server(10.3.3). We have developed an application which was deployed on Web logic Server(10.3.5).
The Legacy application will call the developed application using URL invocation. In the legacy application, the logged in user information is stored in session and the same parameter is appended to URL to call the developed application.
In the developed application, we have a servlet which reads the URL and based on the parameter appended to it, we set the context of the application. Everything is working fine till here.
But, in the developed application, we have a link to navigate to the legacy application. Once navigated, in legacy application if the user again calls the developed application, the session which was set earlier is lost.
Because of this, the context is not getting set in the developed application.
Is there a way, I can resolve this issue? OR can I raise SR with Oracle to look into it. Please suggest.

Session sharing was not configured in WLS.
I was searching for Session sharing and I found this article written by Lucas Jellema. http://technology.amis.nl/2012/01/18/sharing-session-state-between-jee-web-application-through-weblogic-session-descriptor-of-sharing-enabled/
Here it is mentioned that for session sharing, we need to check the Enable session sharing in weblogic-application.xml.
My question is do we need to make this change in both the application? i.e Legacy application and developed application.
And it was mentioned in the article that both the web app were deployed to a single Web Logic Server. But in my case the Legacy application is deployed to 10.3.3 and developed application is deployed to 10.3.5.
In this case will the session sharing works?
Any how I will let our client know about this change and will give a try.

Tags get lost when archived (Mac OS X 10.8, Thunderbird 31.6.0)

I tag messages in Inbox and Sent folder immediately, later archive them with "A" shortcut. This worked well until I upgraded Thunderbird to 31.6.0.
Now my tags get lots when moving to the Archive, and even when I tag them again, tags get lost after a while (restart of thunderbird it seems).
This problem occurred in the German version, testing the English version for a few days, tags do not get lost, it works fine.
I got the idea to change to the basic version from another thread, where a Turkish user had problems with tags as well.

HotSynch Connection gets lost between TE2 and Windows Vista

I'm trying to hotsync (by bluetooth) between my Tungsten E2 and Windows Vista. I got them speaking to each other, but the hotsync starts and never gets past the Calendar. The laptop looks like it's still running, but the TE2 hotsynch log says the connection was lost.
Is there a way to keep them connected long enough to sync?
The TE2 is running Palm OS Garnet v. 5.4.7 and HotSync v. 5.0P
The laptop is running Windows Vista 7 64 bit, HotSync Manager 7.0.2 and Palm Desktop 6.2.2.

Oh, yeah, one more thing..the hotsync works fine by USB cable on the desktop PC running Windows XP, so I don't think there's any corrupted databases on the TE2 (because if there was, then the USB cable hotsync wouldn't work)

Session getting lost between JSPs

I am working on a application in which a user can upload files using FTP. The files may be of large size, say 50-100 MB and it takes approx 30-60 mins for such uploads. The session timeout for the website is set to 20 mins. The way it works is, from the main browser window there is a link to upload files. This link opens a popup window and through this window the user can upload a file. In this popup window, i have included an iframe which sends a post request to the server every 10 mins to keep the session alive. This is working fine in most of the cases, but sometimes it happens that when the when a call is made to send a post request to the server from the iframe, the session is becoming null & invalid or this happens also after the upload has finished and the "upload successful" page gets loaded. This is a very random behaviour, sometimes it works perfectly fine and sometimes it doesn't. It is not dependent on the time, or the size of the file or the number of times the iframe has submitted the request to the server.
Any one has any idea why the session is becoming null randomly?

This should never really happen when you bring up a Web Server or to what so called a loadbalancer in place as ultimately the container which creates the session Object.
I strongly feel that the Webserver(Apache,Sun App Server or IIS) is not passing on the jessionid cookie value which is actually responsible for this action when we are not using url writing for maintaining. .
How do test that ??

Messages get lost between IE and AE (IDoc to SOAP - Async)

Dear Experts,
in a IDoc to SOAP (Async) scenario a message was not transferred. I could not see any error message in RWB or ABAP Monitoring. When I enter RWB, the column engine is "Integration Engine" and the status is "Successful". At the same time other message with the same message interface were transmitted and they have engine "All" and status "Successful".
Why was this message not passed on to Adapter Engine? How can I restart the processing, so that the message is transfered?

I can't resend the message. It does not have an error status. It says "Successful", although it only can be seen in Integration Engine, not Adapter Engine. There are not SM58 errors.

In ABAP Monitoring all steps were performed as expected. Before and after this message some other messages with the same message interface were transmitted and they are visible in ABAP Monitoring, Inegration Engine and Adpater Engine.

In SAP everything looks like expected.
The only difference between this message and other messages sent at the same time (which were transmitted correctly) is that in RWB Message Monitoring (Component: Integration Server) the Engine is "Integration Engine" instead of "All". And the message is not visible when you select for component "Adapter Engine".
Do you have another idea?

Keyboard settings for external keyboard get lost between sessions

Hello!
I use MacBook Pro laptop which I connect to external mac keyboard when come to work. I prefer to use "F1, F2... etc" keys as functional keys so I turn on this setting in bootcamp control panel. However, each time I disconnect the keyboard and connect it back this setting stops to affect that keyboard while setting is still set to true in control panel.
Is this problem going to be solved?

Any of the regular helpers here will tell you that CCleaner deletes settings files resulting in the sort of upsets you have described. I don't know why you didn't have such trouble under previous versions of windows, but since I choose not to use windows 8 I'm not able to comment on how or if the behaviour has changed.
There have been changes in Thunderbird itself, allegedly, which I haven't seen applied to any of my own three installations of Thunderbird, that might mean that there are new files that need to be specifically excluded from CCleaner's actions. Maybe these changes are specifically related to Windows 8 installations. If you have a ''xulstore.json'' in the profile on the affected machine(s) then try adding ''xulstore.json'' to CCleaner's exclusions.
"…will essentially keep CCleaner from managing anything relating to Tbird... and that's sort of contradictory…" Why?? What do you do in Thunderbird that you consider ''needs'' to be cleaned up by CCleaner? CCleaner picks on files whose names coincide with similar files used by browsers to record browsing history. Thunderbird uses, for instance, json files to store configuration settings. If you allow CCeaner to delete these from Thunderbird's profile then Thunderbird will necessarily forget things.
We always advise to exclude all of Thunderbird's profile from CCleaner. If you won't take that advice then you're rather on your own.

Need help in getting Shares between two Macs working again

Hi,
having upgraded my late 2009 Mini and mid-2010 MacBook to Lion, everything appears to be running just fine thus far – except for one item: Before the upgrade, I had set up both computers to be listed in the Shares section in Finder, so as to allow swapping files back and forth. This does not seem to be working as it did before any longer. I did manage to access the MB from the Mini once earlier today, but haven't been able to make this permanent.
As the Mini does not support AirDrop (as of yet anyway), this option is no alternative for me, so I'd be very glad if any of you could help me out here.

Best Scan for Cover Art?

Hello, I have about 1000 cds in my iTunes Library. Some I can not find the Cover Art anywhere on line. I have tried to scan them myself but they always come out at not the best quality. Can anyone suggest the scanning resolution that works the best for high quality cover art?

I've scanned many of my own CDs, when I couldn't fine
a nice image online.
I believe Apple uses 500 pixels square, but I use 750
pixels square as it looks better on a large monitor
or my AppleTV. Depending on your scanning software,
you may be able to directly specify the pixel size,
or you might have to set the dpi instead. In that
case, use something between 100 and 125 dpi. In
either case, be the final scan is exactly square (ie
750 x 750 not 750 x 748), as it improves the
performance of CoverFlow.
Apple's iTunes Store uses 600x600 pixels but in the dim and distant past used 300x300, most if not by now all, have been upgraded to 600x600. For your information Amazon and Walmart both use 500x500 pixels, and yech Windows Media Player uses a pathetic 200x200 pixels.
Note also that Amazon has a nasty habit of putting white borders top and bottom.

Grey filter screen covering cover art on downloaded songs

When I download music (MP3s) from online websites such as thissongslaps.com, thissongissick.com, biggreenbeats.com, and similar websites and go to play them on my iPhone, there is a grey filter covering the cover art displaying the name of the website in a white font. I can tap it and it disappears but every time I go to play another song downloaded from the same site or similar sites, the filter displaying the source reappears. I already removed all of the info from the songs (command+i) aside from the artist and song names but the filters won't stop appearing. Is there a solution to this problem? Thanks in advance!

this might sound a little crazy but its worth a try. when my cover art gets messed up it usually just comes out black on my ipod. if that's your problem, what i usually do is when u click on get info and go to artwork, delete the pic even if it shows up perfect in itunes. instead of just adding the pic right then and there again, click ok and leave it without a pic. click info again and add the pic now. it usually works this way for me if u just leave it blank for a sec instead of swapping the pics in and out

Mavericks Cover flow in Finder gets lost

"have upgraded to Mavericks, and I am having trouble with Coverflow in the Finder. When I delete files it gets lost, showing previews of files that are not the ones that are highlighted. The spacebar preview seems to work, showing me the actual contents, but the coverflow view is for a different file. Also, if there is a long list of files in the folder, it cannot display the files further down the list.
I was in the middle of a large project, going through thousands of photos in finder, when I upgraded. I had the perfect workflow, using coverflow, and it worked flawlessly in Lion. It seems this got boken in the update."

I'm having the same problem. If I navigated away from a folder it was happening with for a while, the ghost perviews in the coverflow would disappear, but it would still happen if I tried to move or delete a file.

Several of my applications (adobe acrobat, CAD) often crash (and need to be Forsed Quit) when I try to open a file using Cover Flow. AutoCAD release the following advisory:

Solution
This happens when you use Cover Flow view mode in a dialog box and navigate across folders. This issue will need to be corrected by Apple in a future Mavericks update.
To work around this issue, do not use the Cover Flow view mode in file navigation dialog boxes such as Open, New, Save, External Reference attach, PDF attach, Image attach, Import, Export, etc.
This is particularly annoying when trying to select a particular graphic file to work on. I wind up opening a finder window in Cover Flow to find the particular graphic I want to open and then looking for the file name in List View in the Open diaglog box.

Some cover art disappearing between installations

I wonder why, when I install a new Itunes and add all the music I had in an previous installation, some of the cover art shows directly in the new installation and some have been lost and has to be added once again. How can I make all the cover art to "stick" within the music files even if I uninstall Itunes?

SORRY ALL... After searching, I couldn't find anything, and once I submitted this, up comes suggested previous discussions where it's clear iTunes Match is likely regressing my artwork. I'll proceed with deleting it all first, making sure it gets out of the cloud, then adding it back as if it were new. (Wow, Apple, what a waste of time!)

How do i get cover art in Itunes 12.0.01?

Okey.. so last week, I tried to import some cover art for my band's music and it worked just fine, but i had to delete the music, 'cause it wasn't the master version. So my problem is that when i imported the mastered tracks (Jan 4), they played just fine and everything, and i just wanted to get some updated cover art on the music, but when i drag the image the the mini picture and press "ok", nothing happens!! anybody experienced this yet?q
Anyhow.. i use a 15" Macbook pro, from 2009. I upgraded to Yosemite, a month ago, and this is the first time I've experienced difficulties with it.

The new iTunes 12 Get Info dialog lacks right-click context menus (at least for now) but it still accepts most standard keyboard shortcuts and drag & drop actions.
Delete Artwork
On the artwork tab of Get Into, tap the image in question, use Backspace or Ctrl+X. Delete doesn't work.
Or, tap the image at the top left of Get Info, this time use Backspace or Delete, it is Ctrl+X that doesn't work.
Add Artwork
Select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the centre of the Artwork tab, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the small image area at the top left, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, you can drag & drop to, or sometimes from, the same locations.
You can also copy artwork from the Get Info dialog to Windows Explorer with the keyboard shortcuts.
If the source image is on a web page right-click and use Copy Image rather than copy. (With Chrome I get a one pixel wraparound so tend to go for a temporary local copy anyway - not sure whose bug this is, but it isn't new.)
If you have multiple images embedded drag the one you want to be the primary artwork to the leftmost position.
Replace/Remove All Artwork
The top left image box can be used to add or delete art from multiple tracks. In either case all existing artwork in all tracks is replaced/removed.

Select some items, right-click, hold down shift, then click Get Info from the context menu. (Use alt/option on a Mac)

Error when trying to get cover art

I set up a second account in Itunes on my Mac Powerbook, for a second Ipod in the household, and have been uploading my cds. I've uploaded about twenty of them so far and I keep getting an error message that Itunes can not download cover art due to an insecure internet connection. I have no idea why this is or how to resolve it. Any ideas?
Just to be clear: I'm not having a problem with uploading the music. I am having a problem getting the cover art to download.

Yes. You shouldn't poke around in the iphoto library from outside iphoto. You have two choices if you use iphoto:
1. Set PSE as your external editor in the iphoto prefs and send the photos to PSE that way. Save, not Save As (you may need to change the On First Save preference in PSE to make this possible) without changing the name or format, and iphoto will remember one version plus original.
2. Export your photos and use File>Open in PSE, then import the edited photos as new images with new names to iphoto.
With PSE 8 it's possible to get into the iphoto library by going down to the Pictures section of the sidebar in the Open window, but photos edited this way behave oddly in iphoto afterwards and I don't think it's advisable to do it that way.
