Cover art not showing..

So, I didn't think this would bother me this much, but it has. Cover art for songs aren't showing up when listening to the song, but when I go to the full list of songs, it shows up at the bottom. This just started happening a few days ago. I even uninstalled the app, then reinstalled it and synced all my songs again, but the problem is still occurring. Any help is greatly appreciated.

i just tested this pretty thoroughly... iphone 5s, ios 8.1, spotify app1.9.0.2744 - no matter what I do, or where I mark a song for offline use, if I play the song after (offline or online), the album art does not show up in the expanded view of the song playing.  It does show up on the small view as you are looking at the queue or other places where there is small album art.
I marked songs for offline use from songs, albums and artist - no album art.  I deleted the app, reloaded, signed in and then marked a playlist... didn't matter - very consistently does not show album artwork if a song is marked for offline use.  As soon as I take the song off offline use, restart the app then play the song online, the artwork is there.
very annoying.  I posted in another thread, apparently this issue isn't new, apparently has popped up again?

  • ITunes 10.5.1 multible cover art not showing

How Can i display different covers I stored with a song?
In earlier versions of iTunes in the little artwork viewer in the bottom left corner of the iTunes window there were left and right arrows on the top in case you added more than one picture to the cover art of a song. These arrows allowed you to toggle between the covers you stored.
In iTunes 10.5.1 clicking in the top of that little artwork viewer toggles between the view of the actual title or the chosen object.
Anyone any idea how to toggle between the different pictures stored in iTunes 10.5.1 within one song?

    Hi mr_proud,
I made exactly the same experience by draging and dropping artwork into the artwork window. Sometimes even showing a black window for the artwork. In some cases it helped to restart iTunes. Nevertheless it's confusing. I guess it's some kind of bug and the developers should keep an eye on it.
Another reason might be, that there are problems with synchronizing songs with multiple artwork to the music player ot the iPhone or the iPad. In my iPhone 4S I couldn't find a way to display multiple artwork of one song.
Let's hope for the next update ;-)

  • Album Art not showing up?

Has anyone else had a problem with their album art not showing up in coverflip? These are all CD's that I own and ripped onto my computer with iTunes, and if I look at them in iTunes I can see the cover art. But when I turn my ipod sideways to flip through the albums, I see a bunch of black squares. Some of the albums I can see the artwork when it's not the selected album, but if I scroll to it, the art disappears and it's just an empty black square. The only albums where this seems to work properly are the ones I bought and downloaded digitally through iTunes, but most of my music collection is CD's, so I'm really hoping there's a way to fix this.
I've already tried googling pictures of the album art and re-tagging the songs with the picture on there, and it does do a sync afterwards, but I'm still seeing black squares. I also tried deleting one of the albums from my ipod entirely, and reloading it, and that worked the first time I went into coverflip, but in subsequent tries it has reverted back to being just a black square.

use the search discussions box. there are loads of threads on this. you definitely aren't alone
the only real solution i've seen is to re-sync the problem tracks, i've probably missed some though, so it's worth looking around.

  • ANYONE HELP?????? Cover Flow not showing my artwork

I have the following problem but only with certain artwork, not all, I added images to all my files before and hardly ever did I get this problem(Cover Flow not showing my artwork), I usually added the same image or another image to make the cover flow "react", so to speak; the funny thing with my problem is that the files in question still have the artwork I put before in the Get info thingy, they appear whenever I see the info tab of the files, and when they're playing, the image shows at the bottom of the playlists list(above the repeat button and that), but the artwork doesn't show in the cover flow (-- =S ???--), no notifications show up about what's happening, and the image file I added is just a regular .JPEG from an album. In fact right now it's playing and the cover flow is still not showing the artwork, luckily this doesn't affect my iPod config and it shows there, but still it seems weird.
Now does this mean the iTunes is having some sort of behavior issues or it just fancies playing with me? =S

*Why is artwork not showing on my iPod when it's there in iTunes?*
iTunes will display a cover in many of it's views provided at least one track from the album has embedded artwork. The iPod appears to load only the artwork from track one to create the cover flow and album views which means that it can sometimes fail to display art for albums even when you can see the art in iTunes. Further, when tracks are played on the iPod, artwork is displayed if and only if it exists in the currently playing track, so track one may show art while track two does not.
*How to find tracks without artwork*
To find all the tracks without artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=trackswithoutartwork for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus. If you have artwork for some tracks of an album, but not others, find the album in the main music folder, select a track with artwork, right-click (Option-Click for Macs) on the art & click copy, then select all the tracks of the album, use CTRL-I or Command-I to *Get Info* and then paste the image into the artwork box.
I say 320x320 because I believe (from using TouchCopy) that it's the size used in the iPod cache so if you're going to crop or resize you might as well work to that size. Otherwise 200x200 is probably good enough.
    *Rebuild artwork cache*
Sometimes the artwork cache becomes corrupt and fails to show correct artwork, even when this is properly set up in iTunes. To rebuild the artwork cache, connect your iPod to iTunes. Locate the iPod in the Sources pane on the left-hand side, then select the Music tab. Remove the tick from *Display album artwork on your iPod*, sync the iPod, reselect the option & sync again.

  • Movie Art not showing for synced movies, only for streamed ones

Movie art is shown correctly in iTunes and while streaming, but not on the movies synced (these show poster frame). The only 'movies' that show correctly their movie art in iTunes, streaming and synced are TV Shows, which has lead me to think that the size of the .m4v has something to do. I have to do tests to determine the posible size limit, but for now all the TV Shows have a file size less than 2GB. I'll try to do some testing as soon as work allows me to get back to a normal life, (T_T)

Back again with some initial findings:
    1. Size of the file does not matters. It shows the poster frame for .m4v files of any size.
    2. Taking again into account your post, I checked every detail between the ripped TV shows and the ripped DVD movies and everything was the same except one small detail: audio settings. The ripped TV shows had an original Dolby Surround soundtrack, so I encoded them choosing the 'Dolby Surround' audio mix setting in the encoding program while with the ripped DVD movies that had an original Dolby Digital 5.1 I choose the '6 Channel Discrete' AAC 5.1 audio mix.
Noticing this difference, I tried encoding one of the previous movies that had the movie art issue using the same settings, but changing the audio mix setting from '6 Channel Discrete' AAC 5.1 to 'Dolby Pro Logic II'. Imported it to iTunes, applied the Movie cover art, synced with the Apple TV and there was the movie art in the Appke TV.
I'm gonna try again with different movies, but it seems, preliminarily, that the AAC 5.1 encoding setting does something to how the Apple TV sees the movie art in the file tags even though iTunes sees it alright.
I'll let you know what results come out of my tests.
    Thanks again.

  • Album Cover/Title not showing in the List for an Artist with one album.

    Hello all.
I have browsed a number of the posts, but nothing close to my particular problem.
I am new to iPod Classic (a couple of months). I like it! Used to be a Creative Zen Vision:M user.
    Here is my issue.
I have most of the covers for my albums. Still looking for a few.
When I go to the Artist's menu and pick an artist, if it has more than one album, it shows 'All Songs' and a list of albums with covers, album name and number of songs on a separate screen. You click an album and it shows the tracks, you click a track and away you go. That works just fine.
However, when the Artist only has one album, it does not show the album cover, name and number of songs on a separate screen. It just shows the list of tracks. I would like it to be consistent. I would like to see the album cover/name before I click the tracks to start.
I have worked all my songs in iTunes. I'm pretty sure there is no difference between the one and multiple album artists.
Of course when you click a track to start, the album cover shows on the Now Playing screen.
Is there some sort of setting I might have missed.
Any thoughts on this? What might I try?
    Thanks in Advance ...
    Bob

    Wow!
    Is that really so?
I'm not questioning your answer. Just want to make sure before I say OK and let it be. I had heard that iTunes/iPod forces you to do things their way, this is an example, I guess!
    Thanks for the input.
I guess I'll just have to leave it be!
Is iTunes the only way to deal with iPod? Are there any other programs?
    Bob

  • Album art not showing on other Mac

On my iMac all the album art was present in iTunes. After matching and uploading all the songs (afterwards I deleted them and redownloaded to get the 256kbps version) everything was still ok on my iMac. However on my MacBook Pro only several cd's display album art. I can't really seem to find out why some have and why some don't have the album art, it seems to be random. On my iPhone 4 most of the album art is showing, with just a few exceptions. For this I also have no explanation.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Kind regards,
    Ken Hermans - Belgium

Make sure that in iTunes on the music tab for the ipod you have a checkmark in the box saying "Show Album Artwork on Ipod" or something along those lines. If it is not checked, do so and click apply. If it is checked then uncheck it and click apply. Then recheck it and click apply. This should get the artwork on the ipod. It may take awhile depending on how many tracks you have that have artwork.

  • Podcast album art not showing

We just created a podcast feed and have not been able to get the Album art to show up.  I contacted iTunes Store Support and they were unable to help and directed me to this forum.
As far as I can tell, our feed is correctly formed, but the album art still isn't displaying.  I've read that a number of users have had problems with this?  If someone from Apple is monitoring this forum, could you please help?  Our podcast feed is: http://www.pky.com/prs/prs-podcasts/prs-podcast-feed.aspx
    Thanks.

Also have this problem.  Any help is appreciated.

  • Cover art not being loaded in iTunes 7

How does iTunes get the artwork it displays in the new cover browser? From the artwork included with the id3 tag of the mp3 file, or from the directory the mp3 file is in?
I have cover art in most directories (directories organized by album), but it is not being loaded. Does the filename have to be in a specific format? Or does the artwork actually have to be embedded in the id3 tag of the mp3 file?
    Thanks.
    Macbook Pro 15"   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2.0Ghz

The artwork must be embedded with each individual song, just having it in the directory doesn't allow iTunes to find it.

  • Cover Art Not Displaying in Artwork Tab

I am having a problem with the cover art as follows:
    1. I have added cover to each song be it a downloaded song from an album or a ripped song from a CD. I did this by (a) downloading/getting the album cover art (b) copying the cover art from the ARTWORK PANE (c)selecting all songs from an album (d) selecting GET INFO for all songs in the album (e) pasting the cover art into the "common" ARTWORK FIELD and seeing said artwork therein (f) pressing OK.
    2. I then went to confirm that the artwork had been added to each song and discovered the following:
    a) highlight/select song --> right click --> select GET INFO --> select ARTWORK tab --> no artwork appears regardless of the amount the "size slider" is moved.
    b) highlight/select song --> right click --> select GET INFO --> select ARTWORK tab --> right click --> select copy --> open Word for Windows --> right click --> select past --> cover art is displayed.
In other words, the cover art is NOT being displayed within iTunes but appears to nonetheless be present because (a) it DOES appear in Word using copy/paste and (b) it does appear in the Artwork Pane when playing songs.
So, the issue that I need hels with is whether anyone has an idea as to how to solve this issue.

  • Album artwork/cover flow not showing up?

I added my own artwork to some of my songs but they are not showing up in cover flow or when I'm playing the songs. Even the songs I didn't add my own artwork to (the iTunes ones), they don't show up either. Help? =P

On iTunes for me, the artwork shows up but not on my iPod. Im not sure why that is...

  • Cover art not visible

On the new iTunes music library, there is supposed to be cover art shown for every album. But it's not there. How do I change that?

Oops Im sorry I slightly misread your first post, I thought you said "there is supposed to be cover FLIP art shown for every album. But it's not there"
I read a word you didn't type and thought you was talking about the "Cover flip" feratuer in iTUnes not working
I see now your talking about cover artwork not being downloaded and added to the songs. iTUnes only has artwork for songs it has in its store. Also the tags on the song have to be EXACT for the most part. FOr example....
I had the album "Missy Elliott - So Addictive" and it would not find the artwork. I knew they had to have her album in the store so I manually looked in the itunes store for her album. This is now they had it listed
    Artist: Missy Elliott
Album: Miss E...So Addictive (Note the 3 dots between E and So)
Soon as I changed the album name to that (With the 3 dots) BOOM artwork came right up

  • Album art not showing in album list view

the album art is there, has been manually added, but is not always showing in album list view.
none of the albums has been purchased from itunes, all are manual import from physical cds, where the album art has been added manually.
albums seem to either show or not show album art (i.e. it appears to be the same for all albums every time i start itunes. restarting itunes also does not help). re-adding album art does not make any difference.
this started to happen several software updates ago and has continued until the current version.
does anyone know how to force itunes to display album art?
    thanks

iTunes > view > always show artwork

  • Album art not showing up under Artists

I just bought my 120GB ipod last week. It was working fine, but now the album art that shows up next to each album under "Artists" is not showing up. The art is there if I select a song from one of those albums. This didn't happen before...is there something wrong?
Also, I was listening to a playlist on shuffle, and when I clicked to go to the next song, it kept skipping to the next song like it was stuck in that mode. What's going on with that?

It's likely that the artwork cache is corrupted.
It's a simple fix by unchecking "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod.
Then check "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod again.
This should resync the album artwork to the iPod.

  • Album Art Not Showing Up on iPhone 4

Hey guys, i need some help from the experts.
My some album art is not showing up on my iPhone 4. My iTunes library in on an external HD so I'm not sure if that's the cause of it. How can I this? Of course, when I synched my iPhone 4 with my Mac the HD is connected so one would think the album artwork would transfer or be synched as well but no go. I would appreciate any help. thanks!

Hello, hello, hello, ... is there anybody out there?
I can't figure it out. I have been trying for the last few hours now and I'm going nuts. The album art shows up in Windows Media Player and on my 4 year old Philips mp3 player.
All of my music has been purchased. I don't know if that makes any difference or not, but I thought I'd mention it. I used iTunes to put the music on my iPhone 4. I use the iPod player on the phone.
