Cover Art Too Small
Hi,
strange thing. I have used the cover print functionality of itunes multiple times without any problems.
But suddenly the covers are printed much too small. About half the size. The scaling in the page setup dialog is set to 100% and the page size is set to A4 and portrait. Of course I could increase the scaling in the page setup dialog, but hey ...
I don't know if I have changed some strange settings but which would that be?
Using an other printer driver and reinstalling of itunes did not solve that issue. Even in the preview the cover is wrongly scaled. All other applications eg. word, preview, texshop are printing without any problems. Other machines, like my iBook, are printing the cover correctly.
Would be happy for any hints solving this issue.

I too am very interested in an hints. For example, I just printed one out on US Letter 100% and the actual measuement of the jewel case insert wit cover art is 15cm X 7.5 as opposed to a standard one which is about 30cm X 12cm.

Recent itunes convert, organizing, cover art, etc.
im trying to gather as much best practice info about ripping large quantities of my cds to mp3 using itunes. ive previously used other windows or opensource apps in the past, and the folder organization can always be counted on (but unlink itunes, they dont download cover art).
also, ive run into a few situations where a popular/recent album is unable to find cover art. is there also some sort of best practice that covers getting the highest probability of it actually finding the right cover art? We just need to chill out and simply wait. They will all eventually show up there on their own. It took me few hours to realize all that, but it is true, it will be there on their own, as long as you have them in your pc/mac library hard drive.
Thanks all for the replies. This is a brand new service, and of course it will have its problems at the beginning, especially when millions of people do it at the same day. At the end, we'll all be happy with iTunes match and iCloud, I know it! Especially streaming all your iclouds library via Apple TV is simply awesome!!
I’m not sure how "waiting" would have helped in this case. Had I not been proactive, the cover art would still be missing. Overall the service is still "buggy" IMO and users shouldn't have to wait or go through some pretzel logic to resolve problems. If it were one or even a couple of issues that’s one thing...but this did not go well on a number of levels.
I understand "early adoption" caveats, but based on numerous posts here and elsewhere, this was not a pleasant experience for a lot of folks...with many still struggling to get things back on track.
We have admittedly been spoiled by Apple's usual high standards. However with all of the issues with the rollout of iOS 5 and now iTunes Match, recent events have been very disappointing. Apple has previously set the customer experience bar very high and almost always met or surpassed it. These past couple of fairly major events felt rushed and unpolished.
I'm the first one to come to Apple's defense and will continue to do so, but this experience has soured my outlook on Apple's ability to continue to deliver at their previous levels. I hope they are able to regroup and learn from this because I truly want them to succeed and stay on top. -
Print too Small vs Album Cover
I just upgraded from a G2 Nano to a G4 Nano. The album cover/art work takes up the whole screen and the song title and artist are really small at the bottom of the screen. Is there anyway to NOT show Album cover and have song title and Artist in Main screen? It's useless to see the album cover but not be able to read song/artist! Thanks
That was the complain when the Classic line first came out and had the split screen. Even when you turn off the artwork on the iPod, you still are stuck with the split screen with the one side simply not showing artwork anymore but not giving up its real estate for more useful purposes.

My Cover Art on Self Published Book Appears Small on Library Shelf
I self published using Producer. Everything went well except I do not have the right dimensions for the cover art. It downloads to the bookshelf from Itunes and the book appears miniature next to the other books in my library. How do I remedy this? What are the proper dimensions? I made my cover using Keynote and then exported to Iphoto as a JPEG and then made it the cover. The dimensions as a jpeg were something like 720 x 1200 - more than the recommended minimum.
My experience is that for automatic artwork look up, the two pieces of info that must match exactly are Artist name and Album name. If you changed any of those two, that might be the issue.
And it can be somewhat subtle. For example, I couldn't figure out why a "Mighty Mighty Bosstones" album wouldn't get the artwork when I could see the album in the store. Turns out that I was missing the leading "The" from the group name. Adding that in to create "The Mighty Mighty Bosstones" solved that one.
Other times I have found very slight differences in album titles especially with punctuation and articles (the, and, etc.). For example, AND vs. &, or titles like (just making up a title off the top of my head) "Joe Blow Greatest Hits" vs. "Joe Blow - Greatest Hits" (Note the added DASH in there).
I have found that if I go to the store, highlight the line of one of the songs on the album, do a COPY then open Text Edit, Notepad, etc. and paste it will paste in the entire line of info (it doesn't seem to allow you to just highlight and copy the artist or title), then highlight the artist name or album title, again do a COPY, then go back to iTunes, select the album, Get Info and paste in the version you just copied which WILL match iTunes version.

Problems concerning sonata playlists and freevo cover art
Hi!
I'm setting up a media center PC and I'm having some problems with the playlists created by sonata. Another problem I have is not getting freevo to download cover art.
First: When ever I try to make a playlist through the "Current" tab in Sonata it creates a m3u file with every song that's listed in the current window. I'm used to being able to pick one or a couple of songs and then adding it a specified playlist. Is this impossible in sonata? And if I try to play the m3u file created (the one with every song listed) through freevo I get a message that the directory is empty. What am I doing wrong??
Second: I'm having big problems getting freevo to download cover art to my music. I can download info on movies from imdb, but info for the music doesn't work. I store the cover art downloaded by sonata in the different album folders and these covers show up in freevo. But if I have to play every new song i download first in sonata to get the cover art working in freevo I'll go crazy. It's supposed to work the same way in freevo as in sonata isn't it???
It also seems that mplayer can't play m3u files. Using the mentioned sonata made m3u file in mplayer does nothing. Mplayer starts but nothing happens.
My goal is to be able to make playlists through sonata and then play these lists using freevo. I don't want to get up from the couch.

It's clearly not impossible, just different than you expect. Create your playlist as you want it to appear in the Current tab (meaning don't dump every single song from your library in there, just the ones you want) and then save the playlist.

I'm curious about some of the album cover art in my iPhone's iPod.
I've added a couple album covers manually that iTunes doesn't have. They look great in the Albums screen of the iPod in Cover Flow. However, when I go to play these albums, they don't show up on the Now Playing screen; I'm stuck with the generic iTunes image.
Anyone know why this is and how (if possible) to fix it? Does it occur with the iPhone 3G too?
Stevenyes it does still show up and it looks ridiculous taking up about 2/3 of the screen like that. not only that but in the new version of iTunes, it doesn't even give you the option to turn off album covers anymore, it's like mandatory now that they show up if there is a cover. that is so dumb, I don't know why they took away that option. extremely disappointing. I'm with you on the tag info, that was one of the reasons I upgraded because I used to have the 60Photo with the smaller screen.

Pdf's converted to epub in image mode are too small to read on ipad2
I have tried all of the free to sample converters out there. Many allow you to convert a pdf which has multiple columns, pictures, tables, etc. in image (or picture) mode in order to preserve the original formatting. Unfortunately, when viewed in iBooks, each page has a (minimum) 1 inch white margin around it, rendering the page illegible. Is there a way around this or am I stuck with importing the documents as pdf's? I would certainly like to use ePub, especially for the cover art, if at all possible. Thanks.
RonYes I am finding that out. The original format is MS Publisher 2007... which doesn't convert to much of anything (except pdf). When I say (in my original post) that the ePub file is illegible, it is formatted correctly but much too small to read (occupies less than 50% of iPad2 screen) even when double tapped. And of course page turning is not available in this mode. At this point I am not sure if this is a conversion issue or an iBooks issue, but I'm starting to lean toward the latter. REMOTE app on iPhone does not display Cover Art
I use the Apple REMOTE App on my iPhone to control my iTunes music library on a Mac. The REMOTE App controls the iTunes playback properly. However, the Cover Art for each song does not display on the "song" screen - showing the song currently playing. Across my iPhone screen (where the Cover Art should appear) are the words containing album of the song). The name of the song and album correctly appear at the top of the screen.
What is interesting is that when I hit the back arrow (left side top on song screen), all of the Cover Art appears in small thumbnails. The Cover Art also appears in other displays (for example, the currently-playing Album) using REMOTE on my iPhone. This means that the cover art is being transmitted to my iPhone - HOWEVER IT DOES NOT DISPLAY ON THE SONG SCREEN.
Can anyone kindly help me resolve this - because I would really like the Cover Art to display properly on the song screen. Thank you. DaleNezmo, This is really unbelievable. I have suffered from the issue I described for SEVERAL YEARS. Today, for some reason I decided to make this post on the Apple discussion board. And, today the issue was fixed by Apple. How Do You Play One Album with New Cover Art Browser
This seems to be such a simple thing to do and yet I can not figure it out. How are u supposed to only play one album when viewing by the Cover Art Browser. I assumed double clicking the album art would play the album, but it doesnt. I've tried everything and it's driving me crazy. I just dont see the point of this view if you can't even play the individual albums without the entire library playing too.
In preferences, (Edit -> Preferences on a Windows-based PC or iTunes-> Preferences on a Mac), then the Playback tab. There is an option to specify how to shuffle, either by individual songs, albums, or groupings.
If you want some randomness, and a random song in there you might try leaving it on songs, and move the Smart Shuffle slider towards the left. -
After the IOS7 updates, when we are viewing music videos on my phones I can no longer turn the phone horizontal to see a bigger viewing of the video. I can only see it widescreen in vertical mode which is much smaller. Now when you turn it sideways, it pops up album cover art and I hate that. Is there a way to fix that?
We are just users like you and don't know why Apple does what it does. This is not a place to "vent," it is a place to ask technical questions. Something just happened here. In the past, when I open any photo in Elements 10, the image would pretty much fill the space. the bottom edge of the picture would almost reach the bottom of the workspace...whether vertical or horizontal format. Then I would create a duplicate and hit either ctrl + 0 (zero) and the duplicate would be a nice large size. ( Double clicking on the little hand in the tool bar would also do the same trick).
Now , for some reason, the picture opens to maybe 60% of that size. It's way too small to work on comfortably. The duplicate is even smaller. When I hit the ctrl + 0 ...nothing happens size remains the same. If I pull on lower right hand corner to enlarge...it only enlarges the ruler and frame. Picture itself remains same small size. I don't use the Organizer. Never have. I have my own system which I've been using for over 10 years and thousands of pictures...first with Photoshop 6; later with PSE 7 on earlier computers and now with PSE 10 since June 2012. Its always been fine beforehand. And I have only had problems with 10 on this. Its happened before but I think last time it was under warranty and on screen dialog Support Team helped me get it back.
This is how I work.....
Whenever I save my photographs, I create a (new) file on the desktop. then I will download all the images from that project from the SD card into the file ( example...Quebec...or Dilapidated Houses; or Antique Car Show 5/2013; etc etc.) OK then when I want to edit a picture.... I open that particular one in PSE. Then I immediately make a duplicate. OK Here is where the problem now occurs. Prior to today, after I have the duplicate on the screen.....I would just hit ctrl + 0 (zero) and the picture enlarged to a nice size. Very easy to see and work with. (One can also double click on the little hand in the tool bar for the same effect). But something happened here and when I now do that...the image does NOT enlarge. It actually creates a smaller duplicate. Which makes it VERY hard to edit when its so small.

File printing and icons for folders in Bridge CS5 - too small to read
Got CS5 and am trying to use Bridge. The folders are too small to read and the print with them too small. The slider at the bottom of the page enlarges the space but the files and printing stay the same size. If I open one the images will enlarge with the slider but I don't want to waste time opening each file to see what is in them. I want to be able to read wha the file is and open the right one first try.
Tried calling "tech support" Those jackasses can't speak English. On hold for 3 hours overall after getting someone, getting cut off and having to call again. I hope Pakistan nukes India and solves that problem.
When I finally got through the guy told me my Photoshop copy was not registered. Funny, it was last week when it had problems. Then I try changing the pasword and it says it did it, but won't accept it.
I hate computers.
So, anyone know how to get this damn probram to make the folders and printing big enough to read without my having to get up to the screen with a magnifying glass like Sherlock Holmes? The screen is a 22inch graphic arts monitor and I don't have this problem with any other programs. Not Breezebrowser, Not Auto Pano Pro, not Photo Mechanic. Send in a bug report, they do read those, and maybe if enough users complain they will modify the program. -

i've installed v8 of iTunes and now have no sound. i get the message 'volume is set to lowest....' but it is not & i can listen to stuff on you tube & internet, but no sound when i play a cd either, so it must be iTunes somehow.
my sound settings in preferences are correct/on.
also, i get the wrong cover art on my iPhone & iPod. it's correct on iTunes though, but is mixed up on the gadgets.

jonathanI've been having lots of trouble getting most of my jpgs, pngs to load into the cover art spaces. It doesn't matter whether I drag or browse/choose a small photo, most of the time (90%?) the cover art won't load. I'm trying to load different art for different songs in a single playlist - I never had this problem before - any thoughts or suggestions? Oh, and often the art will show on the individual id tag, but when I use the grid or Cover Flow playlist View only a couple photos show up
Perhaps I need to go back to iTunes 7 (I installed 8 but am not using the extras in 8)? Doesn't seem to matter what size or whether they're jpgs or pngs or what - I've tried changing everything around. I'm not new to Mac ither - I've been Apple-powered since 1994. Thanks, Rachel -
FetchArt doesn't fetch full-size cover art
Amazon sometimes has several user-submitted cover art images, and apparently FetchArt is grabbing the first available. But this image is not always full size. I'm using FetchArt 1.1.1 (I can't get the updated FetchArt to install - puts a red arrow on all my drives).
I'd like to get the full-size image (manually drag n drop from Amazon is fine), but I can't seem to get rid of the small image FetchArt originally got for me.
I've thrown the original in the Trash, and manually gone to get the image I want, but the original small image keeps popping up as the default for the song/album in question. Even when I just go through the songs and use the arrow at the top of the image window to select the preferred image, things still default back to the small size image.
Anyone know how I get rid of the small image, and get iTunes to default to the larger, preferred image?

If you want to Print better Rez, dont print from Safari, but download it, load it in Preview, don't save it, it'll go to 72-150 DPI, just Print from there... any diff?
