Cover Flow Crashes and Exits to Home Screen

Hey, guys! I'll want to report this to Apple as well. When I flip through album art using Cover Flow slowly, I don't get any problems. But when I try to go long distances, Cover Flow lags then eventually exists back to the Home Screen. Does anyone else get this problem?

Contacts cause crash and return to home screen after iOS4 upgrade

After upgrading our iPhone 3GS to iOS4, it crashes when clicking on contacts from the Phone app. The Contacts app itself will not open. This is making it extremely difficult to even use the phone to call anyone.

Check Settings > Store and make sure the Apple ID that is shown is the same as the one used to buy the apps in question.
Also, try a Reset (hold down the sleep and home buttons, ignore the red Off slider, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons).

Satellite P300 keeps crashing and giving me blue screens

I got a Satellite P300, operating on Windows Vista home premium and its provided with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.
My laptop keeps crashing and giving me blue screens and windows says its the cause ls my graphic driver and the eror message is Atikmdag.
I tried everything (i think), i re-installes windows but this i had to do with making a recovery cd with the current settings because in some kinda way my F8 function doesn't work so i couldn't restore my Windows from my hard drive.
I also got the latest Ati drivers, this doesn't help either, i also re-installed them and tried to run my laptop on the windows drivers, this doesn't help either.
I really don't know what to do, can some one help me please?

Are you sure that you are running video drivers downloaded from a Toshiba site? Unfortunately the drivers may not be the root of the problem so it is important to eliminate them as the cause. AMD's recommended driver removal procedure is at [http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx] and if you follow that with an installation of Toshiba drivers then your laptop should be in an as supplied state

Cover Flow Crashes

Now my new thing is that I have added my music library of about 2300 songs onto my iPhone and when sliding through cover flow I am getting intermittent crashes. I am only seeing a few related posts on this. Am I alone on the boat? Not only is cover flow crashing, my songs won't even finish playing before it crashes.

So I removed all of my music and just added about 30 songs. Cover flow works great. My guess is that 13 GB worth of music that has album art for 1000 albums is crashing because of memory. When the crash happens, I try to play a song and it will crash before it finishes. Very interesting. I am curious if anyone is able to fill up their iPhone with music that has album art this full and not experience a crash. Perhaps a restore to factory? My guess is no and I am not sure I want to install everything again. Any good suggestions?

There are a few things that you could try. First try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Have you reset or restarted your iPhone since the update?
Hold down the home button and the power button until you see an Apple logo
Release both buttons and the iPhone will restart.

Code Execution in Cover Flow View and .mov Files

There is a code inside QuickTime movies that gets executed in Cover Flow view in Leopard!!!!!!!!.
I was helping a friend installing Leopard on his machine, and after restarting, I was showing him the new options in the Finder, when a found a bunch of videos (searched on his computer with Spotlight) and switched to 'Cover Flow View', and then Safari started opening web pages from the internet (Mostly adult sites).
After doing some tests I've noticed that the pages load the moment the Finder 'refines' the view of the videos. You know when the Finder first generates a blocky image of the video (some times called proxy image) and then generates a higher or cleaner resolution of that same video.
Not only that, if I resize the window or the preview pane, the code executed again and Safari opened the pages again!!!!
The Finder also executed the code in icon view with the 'Show Icon Preview' option selected in 'View Options' (Command-J).
Opening the videos in QuickTime Player did not trigger the code. But I've noticed that the videos start playing the moment they open. The Inspector (Command-I) didn't show anything unusual. But the Properties window (Command-J in QuickTime Pro) show a "Sprite Track" of Format 'Sprite' but again the different tabs (Annotations, Resources, Visual Settings or Other Settings) didn't show anything unusual.
*CORRECTION: The code also gets executed at the middle of the video when played in QuickTime. So this problem is related to QuickTime.!!!!!!*
The only solution to stop the code execution is to delete the 'Sprite Track'!!!!.
I also opened the movies in TextEdit and found the following text almost at the end of all the weird symbols:

That's one of the pages that Safari was opening.
I don't know where my friend downloaded those videos, but the potential security risk is imminent.
I had the same results even after updating to QuickTime 7.3
I can upload the videos somewhere (at least the 'clean' ones) so you can make you own tests.
Any thoughts or comments?????

If I'm understanding correctly the "Sprite" is a part of how QuickTime works. In older versions you USED to be able to attach JavaScript to a sprite and do all kinds of useful and fun things. However, some websites used JavaScript to alter themselves, so a well crafted QuickTime movie could be used to deploy code that would alter websites. As a result, a LOT of this functionality was curtailed in later versions and many cool QuickTime functions no longer work.
The few that DO still work are when they are basic hyperlinks that take you to another web page, (Like at the end of this movie, BUT you have to click the link to go

) and others no longer work within the browser (they only work when using the QuickTime player). Give this a try. Use Safari to "Open File..." and open the .mov file. After it's open, see if it generates any other windows from there. If it doesn't, then I'd THINK it's operating as intended BUT it wouldn't hurt to send your feedback here for Apple to look into and/or fix it if necessary.

Ffirefox crashes and exits whenever I try to print, using 3.6.11, Mandriva 2010.1

Whenever I try to print from Firefox, it crashes and exits to my Desktop. I am using Firefox 3.6.11, Mandriva Linux 2010.1, a Magicolor 2530DL printer, FOO2LAVA.PPD driver, v 1.1. Printing form other applications works fine. I don't have a crash ID, since Firefox simply goes away. When I restart it, I simply get an apology.

Do you know if there are any updates available that will run on my current OS? (10.7.5) The only update I can find for FCP X 10.0 requires me to upgrade to 10.9, and I'd like to avoid buying a new OS update if possible. Maybe this is not possible a I'll need to splash out.

XBOX Music App for Windows 8 crashes and exits after a few seconds

Upgraded to Windows 8 Pro today from Windows 7. Everything seems to be working fine except for the music app. Not long after I open the app it crashes and exits the app. No errors, no warnings, etc..... Any ideas????

Sounds like this is caused by the software conflicts, does it occur when you disable all background
third-party service and programs?
Or try to test with another account to check how it works.

Did you change any AppleID accounts or anything? I've seen this happen when changing accounts or certain restore situations.
If you are using iCloud you should be able to reset your phone to Factory Defaults and restore from iCloud, but it always makes me nervous.

OS X Server 10.4 won't boot: AppleFileServer: Server crashed and exited...

OS X Server 10.4 won't boot. Starting in verbose mode the error is :
/usr/sbin/AppleFileServer: Server crashed and exited with status 4.\n
Ran fsck, and reported errors. Ran DiskWarrior and those errors seem to have cleared up. Running fsck now reports clean. Running disk utility reports no errors.
Must be a corrupt config file, but where to begin?

Your enclosure is locked.
When the enclosure is locked, keyboard input is disabled (as a security measure).
Unlock the enclosure (the little lock wheel on the front of the server) and your keyboard will magically start working.
