Cover Flow file name covers preview image

Probably wishful thinking, but is there anyway to change Finder's Cover Flow settings so a file's name doesn't cover up the image?
(Preferably have the name under the image, like in Mavericks)

I have the same question. The file name covering part of the image is distracting and seems like the kind of thing that should be available as a setting. Seems strange that the designers would choose to move the file name on top of the image and obstruct it. I'd love to know if there is anyway to move the file name so that it isn't blocking part of the image. Using column view is an alternative option which provides a nice large and unobstructed view of images in much the same way but with the added slight load delay with larger images that cover flow seems to be without since thumbnails are loaded within the cover flow. Still covering images with a file name seems like something that slipped through the cracks.

Working in PSE 13, when I open a folder, jpeg files have a preview image, but psd files just have white sheet of paper as preview. I have to open the file to be able to see it. Also, there is no thumbnail of the file below the file list.Surely, there's a setting that needs to be changed. I did not have this problem with Elements 12. This is a real bother because I have to use Lightroom to see all the file types. It seems as if Elements is using the standard Windows file loader that can't show previews of file types it doesn't know including .PSD, DNG and CR2. Is that a bug or did I do something wrong? I am using Windows 7 64 bits. Working in the editor, I never use the organizer. The screen above is not the same at all that I got in Elements 12, it was completely different and showed me a thumbnail below the listing when I single clicked on one of the files. In Elements 12, I also could see a thumbnail of all the file types, not only the jpegs. It is as if the loader is the regular Windows used anywhere, not the right one for Elements. I hope someone understands my problem.. Thanks.

Ipad only uses one file name when uploading images via email

We have an image tool that uploads images to a template website. The problem is the file names for these images must be unique any duplicate file names will be rejected. Some of our users want to be able to upload from the field but Ipad only assigns the file name "photo.JPG" to jpegs. It doesn't seem to include the sequential extension that actually does exist for the image on the file name when uploading. Is there a way to get ipad to do so, or is this something that Apple maybe want to consider looking into. I can easily see the average Joe emailing themselves images and hitting save only to replace and lose an older image because let's face it, not all users are on MACs and PC's do not allow multiple files to have the same file name in the same folder.

Based on the description, you could send email to external addresses without the Twin Oaks software. However, with the Twin Oaks software, you couldn't send successfully.
For this issue, I recommend you enable message tracking and check whether you could retrieve message tracking log entires when you send emails to external addresses through the Twin Oaks software.
If you couldn't retrieve message these tracking log entires when you send emails to external addresses through the Twin Oaks software, it means that the Exchange server is OK and the crux of the problem is the Twin Oaks software.

Show file names on still images in Premiere CS6

I need to know if there is a method in Premiere CS6 to have the file names of still images displayed, without manually making title cards for each one. I have over 400 images to treat and any automated process would be helpful.

can anyone help me find out if there is a way to print the name of a file when printing out of Preview?
i sometimes print one page or even a number of files to a page and would like to try and see if there is a way to put the file name next to the image or under the printed file.

Sounds like a problem with your printer. Check your printer's manual for help or contact HP tech support.

Cover Flow shows wrong covers since iOS 4.3

Since I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3 the covers shown in Cover Flow are totally messed up, most of the covers are wrong. When I start a track and rotate the iPhone back to its normal position the right cover shows up. Also when I do not use Cover Flow and scroll through the albums normally (holding the iPhone vertically) every cover is correct.
Something seems to be wrong with the Cover Flow feature. Syncing and rebooting the iPhone didn't help. Although it might solve the problem I'm not willing to restore the iPhone.

I have this same problem and noticed it after "upgrading" to iOS 4.3 on my iPod Touch 4th gen. Various albums have swapped and incorrect cover art — some albums that can't even have cover art (WAV files) are showing others' cover art.
Resets haven't helped me, nor has delete all music and re-sync. This is really annoying, and I hope Apple fixes it soon!

How can I remove the list of 20 recently saved items when you click on the arrow on the far right side of the File Name screen for images, web pages, ect?

When I right click and go save image/page/ect as the file save popup screen appears and on the right side of the File Name bar there is an arrow. If you click the arrow it shows the last 20? items that have been saved and their save location. Is there anyway to not have the list of recent items there or at the very least a way to clear them? I'm running Firefox 17 on Windows 7.
Also when you save items as you were typing in the name you want to save them as it used to show filenames with the same name as you type that are saved in that directory so instead of typing the whole filename or copy/pasting you could start typing a filename and then hit the up or down arrow, backspace and just change the end of the filename without having to retype the entire filename.

It's in the proper directory. I can scroll down the window on the right and see the files but if I start typing the file name of one of them the autocomplete drop down thing that shows matching file names does not appear. In the back of my mind I'm starting to think a setting got changed and then the list of matching file names stopped appearing but I can't recall what setting may have been changed, if it was a firefox or microsoft change or for certain if anything got changed at all. Yeah I know I'm not helping my own cause but what can you do.

File name and displaying images

I am trying to rename all the jpg files i have in my directory, to consecutive number. eg. 1.jpg, 2.jpg. as a new comer to the java world, im not too sure if i have doen it right. could you check...
Also, after i renamed the files i want the images displayed side by side across the screen..

You're really trying to do two things: rename the files and display the images. Let's work on one at a time. First, to rename the files, you'll need to get a list of the files in the directory. Look at the Javadocs for java.io.File (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/io/File.html) for the way to do this.
Once you have the list of files, you need to loop through them and rename each one. A for loop will be a good way to do this. You'll have an array of Files, so your code might look something like this:
// Get your array of Files and call it something simple like 'files'
int numFiles = files.length;
for( int x = 0; x < numFiles; x++ )
// Rename the file
}The for loop will start at 0 and loop until x is equal to numFiles.

Does illustrator list the images used in a particular file. I want to know the file names of the images used.

Does illustrator CS5 list the images used in a particular document.
By this I mean does it tell you the name of the actual images.

But if the file has been embedded, the file name is lost.

List file names only, no image

Is there a way I can get some txt/xml/pdf.... list for the file name and and extention without the image? Or at least a list where the image and filename are in different columns?

As Curt already stated View / List or the workspace 'metadata' provides you with columns. If you reduce the size of the thumbs with the slider bottom right in Bridge Window you might get your list, however exporting this list is not possible to my knowledge.
You could search for it in the scripting forum or make a screenshot

Safari has added this stupid feature to bookmarks called cover flow and it covers up my list of bookmarks so I cannot edit/rearrange them. How do I get rid of the black, useless space in bookmarks, bring back bookmarks manager?

Move the mouse pointer to the bottom of the black area.
Mouse pointer should turn into a hand pointer.
Double click.
The Cover Flow should shrink into small black strip at the top.
To revert back, move the mouse pointer to the black strip at the top.
When the pointer turns into a hand pointer, double click.

Insert the hyperlink URL file name underneath all images?

Hi, I was wondering if I have an image with hyperlink
attached, if I can use some sort of formatting code or something to
not only show the picture, but also the name of the URL file
associated with the picture. For example, my site is
www.drcelly.com and I have a folder I named “lgtest”
and within that folder I have all my images in, and also the HTML
pages that are linked to the images. The page (screen shot below)
showing all the pictures is titled “lg” so the
directory to the following page is:

just as it is now, however underneath the image I need a text

Cover Flow Artist name not matching to Portrait Artist name

I noticed the problem/issue I have the recent update which is 1.1.3. I just bought my touch 3 days ago. In "portrait" orientation, the artist names update correctly, but not in the "coverflow" orientation. If I switch to portrait and then back to coverflow, it shows correctly. Is this a defective unit I have or just need to wait for another software update? Please Help! Thanks
