Cover flow missing

I have installed itunes on my laptop but there is no cover flow option, none at all, just the old style version of viewing, I have downloaded latest version

Cover Flow missing/not displayed

I'm using iTunes 8.1.1.10 on Windows XP. I have been using iTunes for a while with Cover Flow working perfectly, but today I opened it to try and add some new tracks and to update the cover art but it isn't displaying any image at all.
I have looked up similar problems and they seem to focus on iPods or display the temporary "?" image instead of the uploaded art. But my problem is a complete absence of anything. When I use the grid option it displays album art fine. When I open the "Get Info" artwork tab or select the Cover Flow display option it is blank.
I hope someone can help me with this.

So... not necessarily the right solution for everyone but mine is fixed. First of all I got a clue when I tried Google Earth, and none of the rendering modes worked, suspicious when I already had a graphics issue with iTunes.
I have no idea what caused my issue, but first I tried installing DirectX... no success. Next I took the pretty radical step of uninstalling my graphics card (slightly worried as I don't have my backup disc with me! After a couple of restarts and putting all the settings back to the best for my monitor I tried google earth, it worked, iTunes next, and they are all back, album art is now being displayed on Cover Flow.
Again... I don't think its the best solution for everyone, but if anyone has this issue and google earth is having issues starting then I'd probably recommend giving this a go.

Cover flow missing with Icloud

I perchased music match and now can not see the cover flow when playing song. Could someone please help me out

I too was having the blank/black cover flow problem.
Here's what I did:
Right-clicked on my desktop, clicked Properties and then clicked on the Settings tab. I then clicked Advanced, then the Troubleshooting tab and then I adjusted the Hardware acceleration to Full.
Now I'm not sure if that's going to be of any help to you, but it surely fixed my problem.
Hopefully it fixes yours, if not, then I'm sorry and I hope you get a fix in the near future.

Cover flow missing as a menu option on ipod classic

Any ideas - no idea why but I can no longer see cover flow as menu option on our ipod classic. I have reset/updated software/ synced against playlist from other ipod which works but still no success.
The album art is on the ipod as I can see it when viewing individual albums!

actually, once you do a workout with the reciever attached, it will show up all the time, so that you can access your data....until it has data to report to you though, it doesn't show up, even when you turn it on in the menus....go for a run and it'll stay on the menu after that....

Missing album art work in cover flow mode

why would i have a missing album in cover flow mode on my ipod classic, but be able to see the same album in itune on my computer. it does shows up under artist catagory, just not cover flow. i have deleted the art work and re copied it, re synced and restarted and still no album cover. also, not marked as a compliaction either. thoughts?

iTunes will display a cover in many of it's views provided at least one track from the album has embedded artwork. The iPod appears to load only the artwork from track one to create the cover flow and album views which means that it can sometimes fail to display art for albums even when you can see the art in iTunes. Further, when tracks are played on the iPod, artwork is displayed if and only if it exists in the currently playing track, so track one may show art while track two does not.
*How to find tracks without artwork*
To find all the tracks without artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts13.php for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant jpeg images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus. If you have artwork for some tracks of an album, but not others, find the album in the main music folder, select a track with artwork, right-click (Option-Click for Macs) on the art & click copy, then select all the tracks of the album, use CTRL-I or Command-I to *Get Info* and then paste the image into the artwork box.
I say 320x320 because I believe (from using TouchCopy) that it's the size used in the iPod cache so if you're going to crop or resize you might as well work to that size. Otherwise 200x200 is probably good enough.

Safari 4's Top Sites and Cover Flow is missing!

So I downloaded the new Safari beta and tried it out. Top Sites and Cover Flow was missing and I couldn't find it anywhere. I installed the latest graphics driver for my computer but still no top sites. Ugh - THE PAIN!
Specs: Windows XP Pro SP3, 75GB HD, 512 RAM, 96MB intel GRAPHICS.
Please answer!!

is your graphics card compatible with DirectX 9.0 and,
also do you have DirectX 9.0?
if you don't you need to get it, without CoverFlow and TopSite's don't work

Scrollbar missing on Mac OS 10.7.4 when viewing in Cover Flow mode and using wireless mouse

Mac OS 10.7.4 + using wireless mouse + viewing files in Cover Flow mode, you will find Scrollbar is missing. This problem won't happen in other combination of OS versoin + Mouse.

I miss cover flow. I will pay money to get it back. Please help.

My life revolves around music. I am devastated by the degraded life I am facing due to my misinformed "upgrading" of iTunes 10.7 with iTunes 11. I have been a loyal consumer of Apple products since the early 1980's. I would gladly shed a couple of hundred dollars or more to get back cover flow. I feel like the visual part of my extensive music library has been stripped away. I want those covers back!

Ditto to that, just got a new iPod and I have a vast libary of music and CDs that I burned into iTunes beause it was easy to use and convient now Apple takes away features. At least bring Cover Flow back as a feature you can turn on or off, just don't omit it and don't tell anyone. I like visual as well this is like being lost in a sea of crap and you can't see 3 feet in front of you!! Please Bring it back!
Now I got 30 Albums staring at me via my 27" screen and now way to quickly access some thing. ARGH!!!!!!! I hate it when companies pull the socialist agenda!

Missing Cove Flow & Quick Look from Finder once they went "up in smoke"

I installed Leopard today on my iMac and will messing around managed to loose both my Cover Flow and Quick Look icons in the Finder and can't find where they are on my computer (have looked everywhere including Applications). Anyone know how to retrieve them once they go "Up In Smoke"

ISSUE: Missing Text Only in Cover Flow

Hello,
There seems to be an issue in Cover Flow's text rendering. Quite a handful of common characters are not displayed only in Cover Flow, but are correctly shown anywhere else (e.g. Artists menu or the Now Playing screen). No thorough investigation on my part has been conducted, but I am having grave problems with characters featuring a diaeresis on them such as the "ï" which can be found in the very common English word, "naïve".
Suppose we have an Album named "Naïve (äbc)" by an Artist "Hïjk Stüv". In iTunes, the Album and the Artist shows up correctly. Within the iPod, going to Music>Artists shows "Hïjk Stüv" correctly, and going to Music>Albums gives no problem as well by displaying "Naïve (äbc)" (followed the the Artist name "Hïjk Stüv").
However, going to Music>Cover Flow would yield the Album name "Nave (bc)" followed by the Artist name "Hjk Stüv". We can see that it is unable to display all the characters used that has a diaeresis with the sole exception of "ü".
Interestingly, clicking the wheel at the cover flow entry for the aforementioned Album would yield a hybridized result in the song list popup window: the Album name is incorrect and shows as "Nave (bc)" while the Artist name that follows the Album name is correct by showing "Hïjk Stüv".
This issue was discovered when loading songs from the Album "Yael Naïm" by the Artist "Yael Naïm" onto my iPod. You will notice that when you go to the iTunes Store, the Artist name and the Album name states "Yael Naïm" and "Yael Naïm" respectively.

I've noticed that ô (o with circumflex), for example, shows in iTunes but is not displayed on the Classic.
and best I can recall it was related to a Hôtel Costes album, although now that I look at my iPod (2 firmware updates later) it is displaying correctly. So maybe that's one they've fixed on the way.

Cover Flow & Album by Artist / Album by Year

I've been playing with V7 for a few hours now and Cover Flow seems pretty good.
I generally don't like to mess with the sort order of my 15,000 odd database: I like things to be: sorted by Artist, and within artist by album (either alphabetically or by year). Ideally with compilations at the end of the list.
I seem to be able to achieve this using using 'Album' heading - which toggles between album, album-by-artist and album-by-year.
My only 'problem' is that in the Cover Flow view, whilst the ordering is great and I can easily navigate sequentially using the cursor keys, typing a character on the keyboard jumps to the first album with that letter - not the first artist which is what I want.
Am I missing something (or perhaps just want too much without having to keep re-ordering things)?
Any ideas...?

It doesn't seem like it sorts by field or any particular order. It more looks like it sorts by free text, the first match, whatever it is, comes first. That means you'll have to write letters until your lettercombination forms a word/name/album etc that can be found anywhere.

Combining individual songs to show as 1 album in cover flow

I'm manually going through my iTunes library filling in missing album artwork. I haven't really used cover flow because of the fact that I had so few albums that autofilled with album artwork. But I'd like to now, I noticed that a lot of my albums aren't "linked" together as a album and show up individually as their own album. I'll use the Malt Shop Memories set as an example. It's a 10 disc set of oldies that I changed "info" for across the whole album (one disc at a time) I pasted in the album artwork, set disc number, total number of discs, set Album name, and set the genre. Now when I click on the tab to view the library in grouped it shows the album art and one song. Then below it, the album art again and one song etc etc. In coverflow it has a album art icon per song so I can't just click to the next song I have to (in this case) click past 15 songs to get to the next album/disc.
So my question is, how can I fix that lol. I mean isn't it only supposed to show the album art once per album? How do I tell iTunes that this group of songs should be one album? Thanks for any help!

I tried those things in that article. I have a 2 disc set that has various artist but them same album art on both discs.
I highlight all 15 tracks on disc 1 and click on "Get Info" so that I am making changes across all the songs. I set for all of them; Compilation - Yes, Album - Malt Shop... , Disc number - 0f 2, Track Number - of 15, Genre - Oldies, and I paste in artwork that I've copied to the clipboard.
I make sure that not only does it have the correct info in the fields but also that the green check mark is in the corresponding box. I even tried marking them all as (Part of a compilation - NO) then remarking them all at the same time as Compilation - Yes. Still no good, all the info is right and it still shows 1 song as a album.
What am I missing?

View by cover flow not working in Itunes 8.1

Hi all, I don't know what's Happened but view by cover flow has stopped working for some reason . view by list & view by grid still works but when i goto select view by cover flow, all I get is a blank screen where the albums should be & a empty space at the bottom. When I first installed Itunes & Quick time, view by cover flow was working. I havent used it tho for a couple of weeks then thought i'll try it again & now nothing. Is there a fix I can try to get it back to the way it was before it stopped working? It doesn't affect the use of Itunes in any way, (I can still sync to my 32gig Ipod touch no problem) but as I do use view by cover flow, I miss it & having to use view by grid & the moment (just means a double click on the album to see the tracks that's all), Yes all my drivers & directx are up to date & Itunes & quicktime are the latest versions. Cheers

So I found out how to clean this up. Make sure to replace "USER_NAME" with the right account name.
1. Remove Itunes, Quicktime, and Apple Mobile device Support.
2. Reboot PC
3. Delete C:\Program Files\Itunes Directory
4. Delete C:\Document and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\Apple Computer
5. Delete C:\Document and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer
6. Delete C:\Document and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple
7. Reboot
8. Reinstall Itunes
This reset all of the settings and brought back the cover flow as well as keeping my existing files.
Obviously there was a easier way of doing this.. but a full clean install helps.

Cover flow in iTunes 11.x

Why isn´t in iTunes 11.x - it is out of all reason!!!
Load the iTunes-Store - and what will you see in head of the Store-Window??? Cover flow!!!

Dropped over 18 months ago. I miss it occasionally too, but it's a bit late to worry about it now.

No icon for Cover Flow in Finder

I have recently upgraded my ibook G4 to Leopard. The cover flow option with quick look in the finder is wonderful. Unfortunately, I seem to be missing the little eyeball icon in the Finder window toolbar. I can access Quick Look by hitting the space bar, but I'm wondering why the icon is missing? Did I get a defective version of Leopard?!?!?

1) That's the quicklook tool, not cover flow. Cover flow is a black rectangle with two parallel lines along each side.
2) Finder->View->Customize toolbar->drag the quicklook icon to the toolbar.
