I'm Jane and have just got an Xperia X10-no idea of how to use it yet. What recommendations do you have as a community for a case/cover and where is the best place to buy one. On-Line or in the stores?

Try Ebay, there are some very good cases/covers out there, and for the large screen phones I think a cover is very important to prevent scratching and damage.

Is it necessary to use a flip cover for your Xperia phone?

I was not using any cover but i use a screen guard/protector for my Xperia E1 phone but now i have found out that the screen has got two tiny lines but I don't know whether those marks are on the screen guard or on the screen itself. Has anyone noticed such thing on their phone.
I don't understand what is the exact use of a flip cover. Is it really necessary? Plz comment.

A flip cover is kind of an extra protection for both the front and the back of the device.On my Z1,I only have a screen protector right now,but I do have a flip case just in case.Those scratches might be only on the screen protector,but to be sure,you can take it off and place another.

I am looking for a cover for the "Xperia Z1 Compact". Because the cover that I have now, doesn't fit.
When a making a photo with the camera with flash, the picture is than Red? (I have a Red cover on the moment).
Who can help me with this?
Do I need another Cover of do I need a new telefone?

You should buy a case that has enough space for the flash and camera to work fine. You can also cut a little of your actual case.

I updated my xperia x10 to gingerbread 2.3 yesterday in india, but now It keeps on restarting after showing sony erricson logo, for about 6 hours and now it doesn't even charge..... Please help!!!

Try repairing ur phone..
its the same process as updated first time..

SMS from applications in 2.3.3 for Xperia X10

The SMS is working ok as long as there is no application that will try to send automatically a SMS. I did install a different SMS client App but I guess the applications are using differnt Android API's so it is probably why this is still failing. Please do not sugest me GoSMS or similar Client SMS replacement apps. I tried and they work the same way as the default SMS client from the 2.3.3 firmware.
The APP I am using is sending the first SMS message but then nothing else. Also the SMS is working properly if manually sending them before that first automatic message. As soon as an automatic message is sent all other manual attempts to send SMS messages are failing. The messages are remaining in "sending" state until the phone will be rebooted. Following the reboot all manually SMS messages that were in "sending" status are being sent but not the message that the application has "hanged" the SMS process on.
The same APP was working before the upgrade. I have tried some similar aplications that I have tested before deciding on this one and that I have used on 2.1 and all of them are behaving the same after the 2.3.3 update.
Hope this clears the problem definition!
Does anyone know if there is a bug in the version 2.3.3 that is related to this issue? Any idea if there is a 2.3.4 or grater version for Xperia X10 that is coming out soon? I voluntier for HotFix ;-)

As correctly pointed out by the Moderator, I did go through the pain of repair and factory restore a few times, just thinking that one is not enough ;-)...
To add to the information, hopefully helping to troubleshoot this problem, one of the applications that is triggering it is "Lost Phone Finder - DroidRing". Actually that is why I did multiple repair, just thinking that it might be a conflict with a different app I did installed it right after but with no success.
Since I posted this thread, I did do a test with installing a different SIM in the phone, no change in behavior. It is hard for me to believe that I am the only one having this problem.
I have added the application causing me grief in the hope that someone out there will be willing to take the chance and test this with a similar config.
Just another additional information, I did install the Handcent SMS. In a different post it was something that solved someone's issue with group messages behaving in a similar way. Thought for my issue it did nothing, the phone behaved exactly the same afterwards.

How to setting the alert for Xperia Z2 when the Cover for charger/USB port is on open pisition ?

The phone can't sense if the cover is open or not. Smart Connect will however give you a reminder to check/close the flap after charging. If you selected the option to not show the reminder again and want it back you can go to Settings -> Apps -> Smart Connect -> Clear data.

Nervous about losing personal data when updating Xperia X10 to 3.0

I want to download 3.0.1.6.0.75 to my Xperia X10 that currently has 2.1.1.A.0.6 but I am worried about losing my personal data. I have already used Backup and Restore to create a backup of my data but when I go to PC Companion on my home computer, it tells me
Personal data such as contacts, messages.... saved in the phone memory will be overwritten..."
Could you please give me ALL the steps I need to do to ensure I do not lose my personal data when updating to 3.0.? The last time I updated my phone about 5 months ago there were good step by step instructions to follow but now I cannot find them on your website.

Don't forget to check the other Apps to backup your phone

just to play it safe sync your contacts w/ google if you haven't already
open your phonebook
press MENU button -> tap on Send Contacts -> select all -> send it to your email
on your computer
-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

when i try to select my phone in menu before update its automaticaly select xperia x10 (so-01b) its a japan version but i need to install normal version, i cant select "xperia x10" its near that but when i click on it, again its auto return to "xperia x10 (so-01b).

Right now, Firefox works on Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 but not on the Xperia X10 mini. Why is that and will it be fixed?

I have the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini and would LOVE to have Firefox Mobile on it. However for now, Firefox is only compatible with the Xperia X10. Why is that and will it be fixed?

This is due to the processor that the X10 mini uses. Firefox mobile requires a processor that supports the ARMv7 architecture, but the processor in the X10 mini supports ARMv6 architecture.
For a time Mozilla were developing a version that worked on processors that use ARMv6, but this has currently been stopped as there were bugs that caused it to constantly crash. Mozilla ''might ''start developing for the ARMv6 processors again but at this time they are not actively working on it.

Xperia X10 mini pro wont start or charge after kernal flash

Hi all,
i have done some experiments on my xperia x10 mini pro. I am going to install gingerbread custom rom on my xperia x10 mini pro, after flashing kernal to custom kernal version, my phone become dead.
i have tried to put the phone in wall charger for couple of hours. also tried to do a hard reset by pressing power and menu buttons, but all this fails.
now my phone dont show any response to any action. It doesnt start.
even when i plug the charger it doesnt show any light signal.
Kindly give me help how to solve this...

Which smart cover for the tablet?

I'd like to get a kind of iPad's smart cover for my soon-to-be-delivered Tablet Z.
I don't want such an heavy leather stuff. Only the lighest and thinest as possible screen protection.

Google "G-Hub Xperia tablet" - they have a case on Amazon for UKP 9.99. It fits the XZ tablet well, has all the correct cutouts so sensors are not covered and all flaps can be opened, has a magnet in it to switch off/on the tablet, and has already saved my tablet from a fall onto tarmac. It also incorporates a stand with two positions, and even has a (cheap) free stylus /pen thrown in. For this price you really can't go wrong. (I have no affiiation with the company, but have been using it from day one with my XZ tablet).
What I am really waiting for is a bluetooth keyboard cover - Sony originally showed this on an early showing of the tablet at an exhibition, but there has been no subsequent sighting of it, and also I fear the cost given the excessive cost of the Sony leather cover currently available.

I love the Smart Cover. It fits the way I work and I love the instant on/off and the always available screen protection. I wouldn't use my iPad without it.
I got a Cover Buddy for the back, because I wanted the back to be less slippery when I'm using the iPad in the classroom, teaching. For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

Do I need to get a different back cover for Qi wireless charging on the Droid Turbo? Or do I just need the charging pad?

One thing to Remember there's usually a Sweet spot that the phone has to be right on to make it work, And just to be aware some wireless chargers can cause Warmness in the Battery and the Backs of the phone..
