Coverage issue

I recently (two days ago) changed back to Verizon from AT&T after too many dropped calls. In my office building, I went from good coverage to very poor/non-existent coverage. Who can I contact to see if this can be addressed? After discussing with other Verizon customers here, they have noted this for quite some time. It is a really noticeable difference between the carriers here. Thanks in advance for you help/suggestions.

Hi, I have been with verizon wireless only a few months and am displeased with coverage at my House in the middle of a metro area.  I chose verizon based on your coverage map that showed solid red 4g lte coverageover my house.  Other carriers had more detail and I could zoom in and see that there was a dead zone around my house. So, even though Verizon shows 4glte coverage, I still drop calls at my HOUSE!!  Any Plans to update towers or whatever you need to do to cover my house?

  • 7100 i Out of dispatch coverage issue

    I have an out of dispatch coverage issue with only the BB 7100i model, tried several units here in the US border to Mexicali BAJA Mexico.
    I cross the border everyday from Calexico, Ca. to Mexicali, Mexico, Boost have coverage and all of my Iden Radios work fine, I got some BB 7100i programed the service books, all the works, etc.. The 7100i losses the PTT option while in Mexico very often and does not get back until I cross the border to the US California , since I loose the PTT option I tried using just the PTT chirp button only, then a message appears saying "out of the dispatch area, try again later" tried the PTT option with a BB 8350i and i710 at the same time with no problem what so ever, so I tried everything to make the BB 7100i work as it should with no luck, can anyone tell me why is this, or help me fix this issue?

  • IPhone 4S Coverage Issues

    Hi,
    If i loose service on my iPhone 4S it then will not get coverage until i reboot. This is very anoying when im travelling because rebooting an iPhone isnt the quickest process.
    So whenever my iPhone shows 'No Service' it wont search for service until i reboot.
    Anybody know any way to fix the issue or shall i go to a apple store?

    I am facing an issue in US Benefits of life insurance where when the combined coverage of Basic life and supplemental life is exceeding 1500000, then the system is throwing an error u201CCondition for combined coverage limit BSCL for plan SUPL is not fulfilledu201D . From the configuration point of view, I had checked the combined coverage limit, it is correctly mentioned as 1500000.
    Recently I had changed these insurance plans from Open Enrollment (OE) to Any time changes(ATC).
    From then I am getting this issue.
    Please provide the suggestion and advices to resolve this issue.

  • Coverage issues in Northern Ireland

    My mother and uncle are experiencing very sporadic coverage where they live outside Castlederg in County Tyrone, NI. Previously their phones worked perfectly but over the last couple of weeks only about 1 call in 10 gets through. All their getting is 'call failed'.Anyone else having problems?

    You can try a Samsung network extender ($249) which uses a high speed modem connection, or a signal booster from elsewhere ($250 and up) and that might help.

  • Data coverage issues

    My wife and I have been experiencing issues with our data connection at home.  We will see our connection cycle from 3G to 4G to 1X without moving.  As it cycles, we will see a delay where we basically have no connection at all, as it tries to switch. This appears to also cause an increased battery drain.  We use a Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.  We are in the 38135 area code.  I do not see these problems outside of our home neighborhood.  We have had this issue both indoors and outdoors.  Any suggestions?

  • Coverage issue West of Canon City CO

    Just visited the Royal Gorge bridge area located 8 miles West of Canon City Colorado.
    There is NO Verizon coverage there, it stops about 5 miles West of Canon City.
    The Royal Gorge area suffered severe losses (40+ buildings) in last years wild fire.
    The company that runs the place is putting $25 MILLION into renovations, with a grand opening scheduled later this month (August) or in September.
    It will not look good for Verizon when massive crowds begin coming and there is NO VERIZON COVERAGE.
    At the very least, get a sharing agreement with AT&T who DOES cover the area.
    This area around the Royal Gorge Bridge is known as 8 mile (because it's 8 miles west of canon city).
    I visit campgrounds there routinely during the summer, and I don't want to switch to AT&T
    Please send this up the org chart.  This is a critical area that Verizon is missing.

    -I'm not sure what you mean by this,  I have changed any settings related to the antenna.  The only antenna settings I see in the config utility are as follows:

  • E4200 w 2 - re1000 and still have wireless coverage issues

    I have a pretty big house, 4500 sq ft, and it has a lot of brick and stucko.  I have wired ethernet ports in most rooms.
    For my Apple TV, PS3 and Tower PC's I used a wired connections.
    But we have a lot of wireless devices, 4 laptops, 3 iphones, 3 ipads so good wireless coverage is a must.  I am not looking for a budget solution, just the best solution I can.  I also have a wireless baby monitor and an ATT wireless TV reciever.  I have no end of problems with wireless on my devices.
    Without much research I boght a couple re1000's thinking that would be the answer to my problems, but they don't really work as well as I would like.  I wish I had did my research as I think the right solution would be to have other AP's in the house connnecting back to a 'main' AP via wired connection (wired bridge mode?).  I could then adjust single strength and channel to maximize coverage for the house.
    Here is what is a must:
    Single SSID in the house
    Everything must be on the same network.  I have a wired Foscam video camera and use homegroup features on windows.
    Using the e4200 as a base, what other AP's should I buy to connect back to the main one via wired connection?

    Why not try powerlines instead. Electrical wiring runs through your home or office, carrying power to electrical outlets in every room.  The typical wired Ethernet network uses Ethernet network cables to connect your wired network devices.  A Powerline network uses your existing household wiring.

    I have been having problems with coverage at both of my places.
    Des Moines, IA 50310
    Ellston, IA 50072
    50310 address it drops calls all the time inside my house
    50072 I get no data, not even 3G
    Both addresses show 4G on your Verizon Coverage Map
    I use both addresses for my business and this is costing me money.
    I have been a loyal customer for 18 years, is it time for me to switch providers?

    I have the same problem I have spent hours trying to contact verizon I was told I would receive a ticket then an tech person would come out and check what was going on.  I have had my plan for more then 10 years my service at my home was so good probably 5 years ago I got rid of my landline and only have a cell phone. About 6 weeks ago the service in my home started to decrease it is so bad I have to sit outside on my top step to place or receive a  call I was sent a text message from a verizon tech telling me that I'm in a marginal area and they can't help that I no longer have service there for they are doing nothing. I'm waiting for a price quote from AT&T there rep said if my phone did not work in my house they would provide me free of charge a signal booster

  • Reporting Service issues without service and land line access?

    Since Verizon makes it extremely difficult to report poor coverage, I figured I would just place this information online in hopes of an agent reading and reporting the problem.
    There is little to no Verizon coverage of all types (4g3g/1x) over pretty much the entire campus of the Illinois College in Jacksonville Illinois which is about 2 miles off I72 and about 20 miles west of Springfield Illinois.  Actually the entire community has poor service from Verizon yet US Cellular and AT&T seem to rock the area with full 4G. From talking to students and faculty this is a long known problem and in many spots there is absolutely zero voice coverage, forget about data from Verizon.  We have *228’d the phone many times out by I72 and my dad and mom’s Android 3g/4g smart phones phones do not work at all either.
    It seems that this is known by Verizon, as I have seen coverage problem reports on the web dating back to 2008 regarding this area in the Verizon forums.  Certainly Verizon can do something to remedy this, especially being so close to a major Interstate and when other carriers have great service in the same area, come on AT& T is horrible across 70% of Illinois yet they work in Jacksonville, now that is embarrassing.  It would be nice to actually be able to let my daughter use her phone even forgetting about data but come “cover 97% of the people” I know that is not true.  Let's go Verizon, my friends on AT&T and US Cellular and Sprint all get better service (they can make calls, at least)... on Verizon we can't do anything even with roaming enabled!
    This forum says call customer service 1-800-922-0204 from landline or *611 but that doesn't work for my daughter and I'm in mexico this week.  There has got to be an online way to report issues?

    Would love too, but family has Verizon in several states including other college towns Tempe AZ, Macomb Illinois, Jacksonville Illinois and home in Rockford IL we have used Verizon for years.
    If daughter changes companies just for Jacksonville Ill, do we all change?
    Remember AT&T has horrible coverage in most of illinois yet they rock in a dinky little college town in south central Illinois, go figure.  Verizon says they cover 97% of the nation and their maps are quite clear about the areas they cover including extended coverage.  Verizon is misleading people as although extended does mean covered by someone else it does be coverage is supposed to exist.  Verizon can not have it both ways and frankly, family cannot have a bunch of different plans and I really want to avoid switching everyone.  When I get back in the US I'll call the 800 number and see what can be done for daughter but Verizon should have chat support not just chat sales so stuff can be done online.e would think Verizon would want to know where people have coverage issues..

  • Lan connectivity Issue on autonomous AP with throttles

              Hello,
      I encounter a strange problem on several AP 1242 in version 12.4(25d)JA1 of a customer :
      He has 10 autonomous AP covering a factory and is using them for laptop connectivity and TOIP with mainly 7921 Cisco Wifi Phones.
      The phones are configured to use only 802.11a.
      The APs loose LAN connectivity randomly and therefore the clients don't work anymore.
      The AP are connected on a 2960 and a 3560 wich are in turn connected on a 3750 wich route the trafic.
      After checking spanning-tree no loops are present.
      When I check the counters on the AP involved I see the "trhottles" and "ignored" counters incrementing on the fa0 link of the AP impacted wich mean I think it can't handle the incoming traffic. This incoming traffic seems not to be too big however. I can see drops on the switch interface connecting the AP.
    There is a lot of roaming on the AP due to people walking in the factory with their wifi phones.

    Does someone ever experienced a similar problem ?
    When I shut radio interfaces they're is no more problems on the LAN. Can this be an overlapping coverage issue ?
    Can someone please give me advices on how to troubleshoot this issue ?

    Thanks for your reply.
    Do you think this can be the origin of the issue my customer encounters or is it only to be standard ? As this change will have to be made on all clients, if there is a chance it solves the problem I will do it ASAP, if not I will delay it in a less busy period :-)
    Can the constant roaming associations and dissasociations overload the AP and make it stop responding on the LAN or is it only a throuhput problem ?

  • IPhone G3 Battery and Performance Issues

    I have a 16GB iPhone G3 (OS 3.1.2). It's only about 6 months old though it is the 4th iPhone G3 I've had since Sept '08. The others have been replaced by Apple for battery failure, modem failure and inability to stay 'connected' to a charging device even when physically still attached to the charger.
    I have over 8GB of free space, Push is turned off, WiFI is turned off 99% of the time, and I don't have any major apps that might use up a lot of the battery or CPU cycles.
    Ever since the 3.0 or 3.1 update:
    * My battery performance is only about 1/3 of it's previous performance. I've charged it from two different Macs as well as the car charger but still get horrible horrible battery life. It has simply made the device undependable while I am away from a charger.
    * My iPhone is regularly unresponsive. Sometimes for only 3 - 5 seconds, other times for up to 30 - 60 seconds. This happens whether or not the iPod is playing, whether or not Mail is downloading and even when nothing else at all is being used. This happens repeatedly throughout the day.
    Many times all the input events are buffered so it tries to perform them all once when the phone comes out of its stupor. Other times nothing at all happens once it revives.
    Several times a week I need to power it off just to get it to work again.
    * A few times a week applications don't load or quit properly:
    - Mail may load the header & footers but not the body of the app. None of the software controls work. Quitting the app and relaunching it does not resolve the problem - only a shutdown/restart does.
    - The green 'Return to Call' bar will stick around after a call is over and can only be removed by placing another call, leaving the phone app, touching the green bar to return to the call and then ending the call.
    - Maps loads the header & footer and a portion of the screen. None of the software controls work. Quitting the app and relaunching it sometimes resolves the problem but not always.
    - After some calls end the entire screen appears 'disabled' and the 'Home' button doesn't work. This usually requires a restart to correct.
    - The iPod will stop or stutter while some other process is running such as checking for mail or loading another app. What good is an iPod that can't play dependably while I use the device for other things?
    - I drop so many calls that if 'calls' were 'passes' my iPhone could play for the NY Knicks. I suspect it's probably an AT&T coverage issue though I would hope the NYC metro area would have better coverage than this.
    * Bluetooth just turns off all by itself. I have to go into the Settings and turn bluetooth back on. This happens with all three of the bluetooth headsets that I use.

    The phone is acting like it occasionally has a 'race' condition that is eating up the CPU cycles. It is so often and so unpredictable that I cannot pinpoint what the cause is.
    All this is very frustrating and tempting me to revert back to version 2 of the OS. I'm not happy at the thought of losing Copy & Paste but I certainly lose more time waiting for the device to decide to gets its act together than I would re-typing everything I copy & paste.
    I've considered going back to the Apple store again for another replacement but I have little confidence that #5 will be my lucky iPhone. I'm not sure why the quality has been so 'un-apple like' but I'm 0 - 4 with iPhones even though I treat them with care. Since this dismal performance appears to coincide with either the 3.0 or 3.1 update I'm not convinced it's even a hardware problem this time.
    As much as I depend on the phone & e-mail to run my business I can't rely on this iPhone at all.

    I'd try to get a new one if you can. Hopefully it will come with 3.0 or older. Everything after 3.0 killed battery life.
    With version 2.0, using edge + Wifi, I was able to get 2.5 to 3 days with light usage. When I upgraded to 3.0, I got the same 2.5 - 3 days with light usage. My phone definately lagged a lot more due to installing new apps. However, I found if I turned on either push notifications or location services, my battery would last at most 5 hours, even if i wasn't using my phone.
    Just a month ago, we got 3G coverage in my town. I was hesitant to use it since battery life was already not stellar, but after testing it, I found I could use 3G and have push notifications on all the time and still get 2 - 3 days of battery. The only changes I made was I deleted about 1.5 gigabytes of old podcasts and I changed my mail settings from fetch manually to fetch off. I always noticed before my mail would try to fetch itself several times during the day even though it was set to fetch manual and it was wasting battery by doing this.
    I should mention that 3.0 did not make my battery life worse than 2.0, but I've read 3.1 and newer really kill battery life. I still suggest 3.0 over 2.0 since you get push services. I also didn't have many dropped calles on 2.0 or 3.0. I do notice that voicemails are lagged on 3.0, sometimes by a few minutes, other times by a few hours

  • Very Poor CDMA coverage - Downtown Sterling, MA

    Hoping a VZW rep can help, I'm fed up with VZW even as it is an otherwise flawless carrier.
    My home in Sterling, MA is located between two towers and nothing I do seems to help with calls.  They're dropping, spotty, and my phone is utterly unreliable. Checking the signal strength of the network, it's always ~ -90 to -100 dBm, which results in 0-2 bars, and the phone constantly switching towers and looking for service.  I've tried PRL updates, different areas of the apartment, and even going outside; but the problems persist.  Once I get out of the downtown area, the problems go away.
    3G doesn't seem to be an issue, as I get 3-4 bars with that service.  4G hasn't been rolled out here yet.
    It's becoming more and more a pain, as I'm currently working from home and use VZW to conduct business.  I had issues with two phones now, my Droid A885, and now the Droid 3.  I've tried troubleshooting the phones, but it's obvious it's a coverage issue, and not a phone issue.  Family in the area, which I ended up reccomending VZW service too, have also been having these issues.
    Is there anything VZW can do rectify the problem?  Are there any options for me, besides switching carriers / using my land line?

    That is horrible to have poor service in and around your home I understand how you would need your device there most of all! Thank you for the troubleshooting that you have already done you've helped narrow down what could be causing this issue.
    Have you ever had good service in or around your apartment? Since other devices are also having a issue there has a trouble ticket ever been opened for your home location?

    Another way to boost signal in your apartment would be a Network Extender. Here's a link for that device. It's a great help in signal challenged locations.

  • Cell coverage for ios8.0.2

    hi,
       I jsut got my new iphone 5s last week and i upgraded the software to 8.0.2. it worked great for 2-3 days now and then nwo its showing no cell coverage in every 5 min. Then I have to reboot the phone and it will come back on with coverage and i will loose the coverage in 5 min again. Now I turned off my enabel LTE option adn i am getting uninteruptted coverage now. but i would like to get enable lte. is this a problem with my phone or the ios8.0.2 software?.

    It could also be a problem with your carrier's LTE coverage in the area where you are. Have you contacted them to inquire if there are coverage issues where you are experiencing this problem? Did you get a new SIM when you got this phone? Your carrier might require an updated SIM for LTE coverage. There are some other troubleshooting steps you can try. Go into Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network settings and then see if that helps. What kind of signal strength are you showing with LTE enabled?
