Covert pdf to word

How do you convert pdf document to a word document on a mac?

I assume you can do the same on a MAC as a PC. You simply open the PDF in Acrobat and use Save As Other>Docx.

    Hi pumpkins mommy,
Can you please tell me how the PDF was created? The quality of a conversion depends largely on the quality of the original PDF.  Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community for an explanation of how ExportPDF handles conversions.
If the PDF wasn't created from a scanned document, and already has editable/searchable text, disabling OCR may help. Please see How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community.

  • Unable to covert pdf to word

    get the following error
    Program...rogram file (x86)/ adode Redaer 11.00/ reader/ acroRd32.exe

Reader XI are both integrated with the ExportPDF service which can be used to convert PDF files to Word or Excel.
That said, I'm not sure what issue you're encountering.  Could you share the full error message you're receiving?  Also, can you confirm if you're trying to access the ExportPDF service (File > Save as Word or Excel Online)?

Look at iAnnotate. I don't use it, but I have read that it will work with PDF and PowerPoint files and the app description seems to indicate that as well.

    Hi dwhitnackphilly,
The ExportPDF subscription isn't included in a Creative Cloud membership. However, if you have Acrobat as part of your subscription, you can use it to save directly to Word format (as well as a host of other formats). In Acrobat, just choose Save as Other...

  • Converting from PDF to Word doc: Text in Fields disappears. What to do?

    Hi,
I have a PDF template I filled out, for the cover of my thesis, which included 3 fields.  I am using the trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and saved the filled in template as a new PDF. So far, so good.  However, I need to covert the PDF into Word. When I do so, and open the new Word doc, the text I filled in is gone.  Help?

    Hi hamsa142,
Is this problem specific to one file, or does it happen with any file that you convert to PDF? How was the PDF created (using what application)?

  • Problems when converting from pdf to word

I am a translator and I get most of my work in pdf files. So I convert the pdfs into words to be able to change the text and edit. However, when dcuments are converted from pdf to word I have found they become very unstable and difficult to work with to the point I usually end up not using the coverted file. Is there any place I can go for training about what to do with those documents? Can anyone relate to this problem?
    thanks

    Hi patryba,
You can access ExportPDF here: Adobe Acrobat.com.
Please let us know how it goes!

  • PDF to Word = Floating frame boxes

    Hello,
I have converted some pdf files to word files in Acrobat 8.x.
The resulting Word document (2007 *.docx) seems to be made up of series of floating boxes/frames of each individual line or paragraph over the Word page. Is there a way of inserting or  embedding them so that they would be like a regular Word document, as considerable editing is required of this document.
Alternately how can they be coverted as to eliminated this needed next step.
    Thanks
PDF to Word => Floating frame boxes

The boxes/frames are Word's means of providing some semblance of layout.
The source PDF was not a well formed Tagged PDF.
When a source file is mastered with a consistent logical hierarchy that uses built-in headings and styles, each of which is providing desired white space above/below lines and paragraphs and the authoring application has an adequate tag management mechanism for support of Tagged output PDF you have that "well formed tagged PDF".
One of Tagged PDF's facilities is to support migrating the Tagged PDF's content, layout, and format to other, supported file formats with the consequence of little to no post-migration "clean up".
Unfortuately, the PDF you converted to Word was not a well formed tagged PDF.
While you could use Acrobat Pro to tag an untagged PDF that often gets you a basic, rough tagged PDF if the content is other than simple.
Continued manual editing of the resultant structure tree can, in time, yield  the well formed tagged PDF.
Or, after having Acrobat Pro add tags & then saving - give the export to Word another try to see what you get.
It may be enough to escape the "boxes/frames" scenario.
Trying to do anything with content in those boxes/frames in Word is ...well a really fustrating endeavor.
Lot of pain &, ultimately, no gain trying to cut-paste-assemble into something useful for the 'real' editing.
If working on the PDF to develop a basically adequate structure tree is not an option consider a Save As of the PDF to a text file.
    Then bringing that into Word.
Use the desired Word template's Headings and Styles to establish format and layout.
Then have a go with grammar and spell check.
    Be well...

  • PDF TO WORD.DOCX

I have legal documents that I need to covert from PDF to Word.docx so that they can be filled out online, then printed ready for signatures.

Why not make the PDF into a PDF form. PDF forms are much more reliable that WORD forms that reflow with every change in printer. Simply go to the forms menu and create form fields from the current PDF, then edit the form fields to fix the ones created, delete if needed, and add others.
In terms of going to WORD, simply Save As WORD (good luck, the conversion is not always that good).
