Cp 1515n

I have an HP Laserjet CP1515n -- 4 years old or so.  It has been working great with our iMac until a few weeks ago, when the printer heads went out of alignment.  It prints B&W fine, but color is a mess.  I tried calibrating using the control pad -- about 6 times -- with no success.  HP support suggests using Toolbox FX to calibrate, but Toolbox FX does not work with a Mac or Windows 7, which is all I have.  What kind of Catch-22 BS is this????  Is my printer now just a large paperweight?

Hi BrianRVA,
I see by your post that the printer is out of alignment. You have already tried multiple calibrations and you still have the same results. Hopefully we will be able to resolve this issue so you don't end up with a
"large paperweight".
Remove the toners, turn the printer off and on again.
Then reseat the toners again.
Try printing again.
I have also provided a document for Resolving Print Quality Issues. Most likely this is the one you have been following. Go to Solution eight: Print a diagnostics page to check the toner and the alignment. In case one of the toners are causing this alignment issue.
Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
Have you been printing any card stock lately? (this will cause the printer to go out of alignment if it is too heavy)
Any recent paper jams?
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.

  • HP Color Laserjet 1515n won't print

Haven't been able to find an answer anywhere.  Even disconnected from the network and stand-alone, the HP Color LaserJet 1515n (product number CC377A bought at Costco not too long ago) won't print.  Can't print configuration page, no demo page.  Nothing.  It just sits there saying "printing" and flashing but never does anything else.  Tried resetting through the menus. Didn't work.  Tried holding down the right arrow and X to reset NVRAM.  Didn't work.  Any help?  For when I do get the printer to work on it's own, I'm on Windows 7.

    Hello dp146,
I understand your concerns. Unfortunately, I need to direct you to our Enterprise Business Community Forums.
This will be the right section to troubleshoot this issue.
    Good luck.

  • HP Color LaserJet 1515n fails to print

HP Color LaserJet 1515n fails to print
I had this printer just 13 months, and it has stopped working without giving any kind of error code.
I ran my black down to 1% using override - and then nothing. The printer accepts jobs and appears to do everything up to the point when it should start feeding paper through the printer transport.
I changed the black toner, but it made no difference.
To avoid complex print driver problems I have been using a simple txt file with 'hello world' for testing.
    Having reinstalled the drivers.
I have done a very extensive web search, I cannot find any appropriate help.
I took the side off the machine to reveal the electronics, and tested all the connections etc, but cannot find anything obviously wrong.
The transport mechanism seems ok, because the manual feed slot accepts paper and pulls it in, but then goes no further, ie to actually start printing.
The calibration process seems ok, and all the 4 color cartridges seem ok, and the spindles on them obviously turn having marked them to see if any were stuck.
As there is no error code in the log file, I cannot see what is wrong.
Does anybody have any idea what is wrong? Are there and tools that can be used to interrogate the printer further?

Wait a minute! It's only certain Indesign documents that won't print.
    All TextEdit docs will print.
I created a few scribbles in Photoshop and they print.
But with InDesign, there is no predicting which documents will print or will not print. On some that will not print, if I remove all but one text box, then they will print. On other documents that do print, if I copy some text off of one that won't print and paste it in, then that one stops printing too.
On some that won't print, if I erase everything on the page and create a new text box and type a few words into it, the page will print. If I revert to the previously saved version, once again the page won't print.
What kind of craziness is this, anyway? It seems random. I can't figure it out.
Even on the documents that won't print, when I try to print them the printer's activity light blinks as though it is just about to print, but then the light goes out without printing.
Anybody got any ideas what this problem is and how to fix it?
All I know is that EVERYTHING printed before I upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.9.

  • HP Color LaserJet 1515n obsolete?

Having calculated it would be cheaper to buy a new CP1515n printer than get it fixed, I decided to buy a new one.
I have been told by several suppliers that they are unable to get hold of the CP1515n due to a shortage for the last 3 months. They have said that that this model is now probably obsolete based upon previous experience.
I unfortunately now have a whole new set of CMYK cartridges that I cannot use. Is there an alternative color printer I can use them in? Or should I sell them on eBay.
I cannot get any sense out of HP, and they won't confirm shortages/production problems or if the model is now obsolete, or any help to buy a new printer.
Can anybody help, if not I will most likely buy Canon instead.

I'm able to find "remarketed" units on the Web.

  • Hp 1515n

Im trying to add a network printer in a peer to peer network. My windows 8.1 laptop sees the printer but the printer will not connect when I try to add it. What to do?

Hey, sorry I don't have an answer for your problem, but I see you have a 3210 that you got on a network.  I am attempting to do the same but my printers is not registering on the network so I can select it during setup.  I contacted HP Customer Support but they didn't answer my question.  So hopefully you can.
At the back of our printers, at the ethernet port there are 2 lights indicating communication across the network.  Prior to installing software, you're supposed to connect the printer to your network, when you did, did your lights light up confirming connection.  Mine don't and I'm thinking my printers ethernet port is dead, hence nondetection in the network.
Can you confirm if the lights light up prior to software install?
Thanks in advance for your response.

  • Failed HP Toolbox FX. HP could not help can anyone?

I have had a message saying that HP Toolbox FX has encountered a problem and cannot recover. This has been going on for about 2 years and I have coped without toolbox but I now need to calibrate the printer and can't.
I have contacted HP and they cannot resolve the problem. I have downloaded all the newest software / drivers etc - all to no avail. Is there a way of starting toolbox again or can I do all the functions that toolbox does independently?
I have a Colour LaserJet 1515n, it is hardwired to a router.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
    I hope someone can help

Afraid I haven't seen that before. The only thing I could suggest is to boot from the 1st Install disk and run the hardware test. I would wonder about the video card. You might also post in the MacPro forum. I just got MY MacPro today, and the MacPro Forum is where I would go:

The only other thing I can think of is to launch Console from the Utilities folder and see if any errors are being reported.

  • Missing 'Colour' tab

We have a local printer (CP 1515N) which prints in colour. When we go into the Print preferences we see the colour tab which allows us to print in Grey Scale if we so wish.
We are using RDP (Remote Desktop) to conect to a Terminal Server where a centrally managed application is installed. We have the same printer setup on this remote server so when the user prints from the remote app it comes through on the local printer.
The problem is we can't get it to print in colour. When I look at the print properties on the server I don't have a colour tab, but instead have a 'Printing Shortcuts' tab??
The driver used for both local and server installations is the PCL6 UPD

One thing that might help out.
Along with neuroanatomist's post asking sure that you are running os 2.0.
Are you running windows 2000 as it shows in your profile at the bottom of your post?
If so, the minimum system requirements for ipod touch and iphone are win xp sp2 or vista.
    Hope this helps.

  • Colours Don't match up, ghost image

I have a 1515n printer, with less than a 1000 prints,.. just coming up for it's first black cartridge.
Unfortunatley, it has developed an image qaulity fault where the cyn and magenta images do not match up, and get laid down on the paper in different places. So hence a ghosting effect on the final print.
I have searched the web and forums,.. for info but searching for registration and other keys words does not help.
Does anyone know how to fix colour image registration issues on a 1515 type printer.
    Many thanks
    Diyhouse

To close this issue out for folks who have taken the trouble to read the problem statement.
The fix was actually quite simple,.. I merely needed to run the calibration routine,. which had not run for some time,. why it drifted out so far out, I do not know.
    But thanks for reading.

  • How to make a wireless printer?

I have laptop with wifi,  and  have a wireless router  ,a HP color Laserjet 1515n.  now I  want to  put the printer  in the other room  far from the router and  laptop.  how can I  make a  wireless printer(no wire connect to the router)?  shall  I  buy  a  device?  what  kind  device?  thank you!

As far as I can tell your printer only has a USB connection, right?
If so, you may be able to buy a wireless print server, but they are somewhat difficult to set up.  If you buy one, get one the same brand as your wireless router (I don't think HP makes one for this printer from my quick search).

  • HP Color LaserJet CP1515n - Disable colour?

    Hello,
We have a HP Color LaserJet CP1515n and I have made general settings to prevent students printing to it in colour.  Now that's fine until they configure the print settings and turn it back to colour again.
Is there any way I can restrict access to the areas where they can set it to colour/black&white/greyscale so that they cannot get around this?

Hey , Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here. I see that you are having some issues with printing colour on your Laserjet CP 1515n. I can help you with that. Now, since I am not quite sure whether you have a software issue or a hardware issue in disguise we're going to do some of both types of troubleshooting. First, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once that is done this document will outline how to troubleshoot print quality issues on the printer. If you have any issues please let me know what happens and I will be able to assist you further.
I hope this helps and I hope you have a great day!
