CP 6 Neospeech and Loquendo Speech agents
Hi All,
I recently updated to CP 6.0.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to find the updated text to speech agents for NeoSpeech and Loquendo that work with CP 6?
I currently have 5.5 installed.
I've looked everywhere but I can't find it.

Captivate 6 does not have Loquendo Voices. It has Neo Speech, you can download the voices from here --

Hi, I'm creating my first captivate 5 projects for use with a Robohelp 9 Help File using Loquendo English Speech Agent - Simon. I have experimented with pronunciation by typing text in different formats in the slide notes, this seems a lot of work and duplication. I seem to have read somewhere (probably incorrectly) that if I update the User dictionary for Kate this will be used be all the speech agents? If so this doesn't seem to work - is there a way to update the dictionary for Loquendo Speech Agents? Huge thanks to anyone who can help.

The Loquendo speech agents Aussie Grace and Aussie Alan used to be available with Captivate 5 but are no longer available in Captivate 6.
Can someone tell me where I can locate them, or buy and install them?
I need a TTS agent with an Australian accent.I don't use the TTS functionality myself (not realistic enough) but I've heard others complain about the removal of TTS voices.

Seriously, this Loquendo aka Nuance (or whatever) are two (or one) of the most difficult companies to figure out how to buy their stand-alone voices. It is ridiculous actually. The best thing to do is contact them directly and ask them (be certain to specify that you are looking for just those voices).

Third-party TTS voice appears in Speech Agent list, but Sam ends up reading
I'm trying to use a trial version of Ivona voices to generate text-to-speech in CP5, to test the capability. The Ivona speech agents show up in the Captivate voices list, but when you generate the text-to-speech, Microsoft Sam ends up being the voice. Is there an extra step I'm missing? I was able to get this to work with the trial version of Cepstral voices, but I'm having a problem with both Ivona and Loquendo voices. Has anyone gotten this to work, and if so, what are the missing steps?
I should mention that the Loquendo and Neospeech voices that are included with Captivate work just fine. Also, this is a purchased version of Captivate 5.
Thanks!I have just tried the trail version of IVONA voices with Adobe Captivate 6 (on Windows 7) and I have the issue as reported by joebor1776.
Adobe Captivate sees the installed IVONA voices and it allows me to assign a different voice to each sentence. Unfortunately the audio generation fails to use the assigned voices, it uses the voice that is set as the Windows default voice (Windows 7 » Control Panel » Speech Recognition » Test To speech). This means you can't create a dialog between two or more persons.
Does anybody have a solution for that?

I have sent an email to Ivona to see if they have a solution, but did not receive a reply yet. In the meantime I did some more research and found that http://www.cereproc.com voices are compatible with Captivate 6. -
How to install speech Agents with Captivate 7?
Hi,
I am using Captivate 7 (32bit version for Windows), which only provides a single default speech agent. A link on the Speech Management screen enables you to download and install Neospeech voices.
I downloaded the file Cp7_win32_voices_installer.zip, extracted the files and then ran the set-up application. However, no additional speech agents are available in the Speech Management screen. What is the problem? I have tried rebooting my machine, but that has not helped. Any suggestions?

You might want to perform a double-check here. I'm not sure about this version, but in earlier versions, once you "downloaded and installed", all you really did was to extract the installer application to a folder. There was another step. Locating that folder and performing the actual installation.
So look at the folder and see if there isn't something like a "setup.exe" or similar that you need to run!

Hi all,
I feel sort of stupid posting this, but here goes. In
converting text to speech, I accidentally selected the "don't show
this again" box in the speech agent selection dialog box. Only
problem is, it was pointed to Kate, and I prefer Paul.
Now the only way I see to change it is to go to Audio >
Speech Management and change it slide by slide.
Is there a way to change my 'default' speech agent to Paul,
since it now doesn't show me the selection dialog box when I
convert text to speech?

Perhaps try looking in this location:
Click Edit > Preferences... > Global node > General
Settings node and click the Confirmation messages... button.
See if the check box in the lower left corner labeled "Speech
selection" has been cleared. If so, click it and dismiss the
dialogs.
Hopefully that will bring back the choice.

Speech Agent - Static behind voices after applying update today
I'm using Captivate version 4.0.1 bld 1658. Last week I used Paul for my speech agent and he had a mild robotic tin-canny sound behind his voice, which is fine. Today I applied an update (help --> updates) to address not being able to hear the audio when previewing only one slide. After updating, both Paul and Kate now have static in their voices. I listened to audio I created last week, I still hear tin can background. I import the same audio into a new project created today, static. Recompile audio in previous project, static behind the voice. When listening to the video with headphones, the static is very disturbing.
What can I do to fix the speech agent voices? Can the encoding settings be modified for text to speech?Hi there
Silly question. Did you try converting Text to Speech after you updated so that the speech was re-created?

Adobe Captivate 5.5 and Neo Speech: issue to use Paul voice
Hello,
I have installed succesfully Adobe Captivate 5.5 and then Neo speech Add-on. But unfortunately, when using Speech management function, I can't find Paul and Kate voice. These voices are not proposed in the voice list while the installation has suceeded.
A Kate and Paul directories have been install under Adobe Captivate 5.5 but I don't know why these voices seems to be not installed.
My PC uses Windows XP, default language = french. Adobe Captivate has been installed in English.

First I have installed Adobe Captivate 5.5.
Then I have installed Neo spech.
I have restarted my PC, then launch Captivate: Paul and Kate voices are not present in Speech Manager. And I have no special error message, only voices missing.
After that I have installed Loquendo speechs.
Launch again Captivate and see that Loquendo voices are pesent in Speech Manager.
Now I will show you Neo Speech install report, installation done after an Captivate application stop:
The installation has succeeded in the good directory.
When installing Loquendo the report is not really the same, it seems that some additional execution are done:
Following other discussions on the forum, I have looked at my Windows Control Panel Voice and see that 3 voices are proposed. I assume that these are Windows voice. I didn't find Stefan, Simon, Kate or Paul voices and I'm not ablle to add or configure something.

Introduction
There is the scenario that users configured hundreds of subscriptions for reports. Now they want to disable all the subscriptions, but Reporting Services and SQL Server Agent service should be enable, so the subscriptions will not delivery reports to users
and users could run the reports and create jobs on the server.
Solution
To achieve this requirement, we need to list all subscriptions and their schedules by running query, then use loop statement to disable all the subscription schedules by Job name.
On the Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server instance, and then click SQL Server Management Studio.
Type Server name and select Authentication, click Connect.
Click New Query in menu to open a new Query Editor window.
List all subscriptions and their schedules by running the following query:

Constantly have to kill and restart EM agents
Hello,
I am currently running EM GC version 10.2.0.4 on an AIX platform. I seem to be encountering frequent issues with various agents within our environment, in that I am constantly having to kill -9 the emagent process on various hosts and then having to restart the agent on these hosts afterwards. There seems to be no pattern in which hosts have to be dealt with in this manner as I am performing this process on different hosts each time the problem occurs. The agent is marked as unreachable in the GC console and then when I go to the host and perform an ./emctl status agent command, the result is that the agent is not running. When I attempt to start the agent using the ./emctl start agent command, nothing happens. I have to kill -9 the running emagent processes and restart the agent again using the ./emctl start agent command. This command is successful, however, it seems that in a week or so, I have to perform this action again on the same host or different host.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue after upgrading to version 10.2.0.4 of GC? These problems did not seem to appear nearly as often with version 10.2.0.3. Any assistance in troubleshooting this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Scott KiskisI also have similar issue, but i am running 10.2.0.3 GC and 10.2.0.3 agent. The agent processes keep running but get email from GC that the number of targets failed to upload. At least I see a pattern in my place: I receive a high cpu usage message for several hours, before the agent goes into this state.
emctl status agent shows it is down, but when i try to start, it fails as the emagent process is still running. I have to do kill -9 <pid> and then restart the agent. The agent works fine until I receive the high cpu usage message/email again. It seems to be operating system specific and I am trying to work with my sysadmins to figure out if anything is different in this server compared to others. -
Can be toplink-essentials.jar and toplink-essentials-agent.jar shared ?
I have 2 apps, A and B, toplink-essentials.jar and toplink-essentials-agent.jar are not in their war /lib directory. It is in /common/lib (Tomcat 5.5) or /toplink/jlib (OC4J 10.1.3.2.0).
First I deploy and run A - it works, then I deploy and run B - it fails with exception: No Persistence provider for EntityManager named ...
When I do it in opposite sequence, B works ok, A fails.
When I add toplink-essentials.jar and toplink-essentials-agent.jar into war /lib, both works OK, but only on Tomcat. On OC4J not. Itried to add orion-web.xml

when downloading microsoft office update get message to close microsoft database daemon and sync services agent. Shouldn't these be closed automatically? I try to close them, but the message still says they need to be closed. Help!
Are you using Outlook 2011 or Outlook 2015? I don't seem to have any relevant sync settings under Preferences -> Other in Outlook 2015.

Hence the answer is refering to SWWLOGHIST table.
We need to pass the value 'SWW_WI_FORWARD' (which is an FM) to the field 'METHOD' of SWWLOGHIST table and get forwarded by and forwarded to agents from 'METH_USER' and 'PARA_VAL_1' fields for the worktiems in any date range.

When I had uninstall Sql Server 2008 R2, that time I had uninstalled instances (SQLEXPRESS and MSSQLSERVER) and again installed sql server 2008 r2 setup .
Before uninstalling from control panel >Uninstall program showed two setups
1) Microsoft sql server 2) Microsoft sql server R2 , I uninstalled both.
As i installed SQL R2 again, it is showing only 1 instance ie "Microsoft sql server R2" but the other instance is some how missing -"Microsoft sql server" and
also sql server (SQLEXPRESS) AND sql server Agent(SQLEXPRESS) services from sql server configuration manager are missing
How to retain the missing instance and the above services?

I need to ask you a question here.
Why you require SQL Express edition on your machine, if there is no need you can safely ignore it and continue using SQL Server 2008 R2 edition.
Express edition can also get installed if you happen to have installed Visual Studio 2010 for instance.
If you need it then you must install SQL Server Express edition, It is a freeware and can be download from Microsoft website.
