  • Redundant power with UC560-T1E1-K9

    Good morning,
Is there any way of having redundant power with UC560-T1E1-K9 (redundant internal power, RPS, UPS, etc..)?
    Thank you very much
    Best Regards
    João Mendes

    Hello,
In order to use Meet-Me conferencing, you have two options.
    1.  Conferences have to be "initiated" by an internal phone.
         a) To initiate conference, pickup an internal phone handset, hit "more" button on phone menu, hit "MeetMe" option.  Then dial meet-me extension (770).  Now that the conference has been initiated, other phones can just dial the 770 extension to join the conference.
    2.  Select "Enable Meet-me Unlocked" on the CCA page for the conference configuration.
         a) To initiate a conference, just dial the conference extension (770).  Users can join by dialing 770 also.
    Thank you,
    Darren

  • Fax and Modem with UC560

    Dear All,
I have a somewhat tricky configuration to make happen and hope you can help me.
I have a UC560-BRI-K9 (located in Germany) that is connected via BRI/ISDN and also utilizes an external SIP-Trunk.
The UC is shared by two related businesses and the Trunks are separated using COR-Lists.
I am now tasked with making both Faxes and Modems work. Via the SIP-Trunk, I only need T.38 to work for inbound and outbound faxes; no problem here. On the BRI-Port however, it is quite a different story: Here, I need both Fax and Modem working. The modem functionality is required by a Power Generator to call for maintenance in case of failure (or be called on a designated number for preventive checks). Furthermore, there also is a Postage Meter that also requires outbound modem comms.
Digging through the configuration documents, I see that the UC500-Series does not support Fax-passthrough and modem-passthrough to be enabled simultaneously as they are handled similarly.
If anyone has come across a solution for my problem, please let me know.
Thank you very much in advance!
    Best regards,
    Colin

If you use BRI and the fax or modem is conneceted to a FXS port in the same router, you don't need to worry about anything. It will work fine without any configuration.

  • SPA525G2 Not working with UC560

I have a UC560 working with a few SPA502G phones. However I can't get them to work with the 525G2. I connect the phone, assign the VLAN, and the phone gets the correct IP address from the correct subnet, and the phone is listed in the topology in CCA. But thats it... it's not listed under Configure -> Telephony -> Users and Extintions -> Users and Phones. When I try to manually add it. I don't get the eact model listed (525g2). I only get 525g. Even when I choose it, the configuraation continus fine, but with no result. The phone doesn't get an extention, nor does it work.
When troubleshooting,  found the image on the phone is 7.5.2a. And when typing 'show flash' in the terminal i can see the image for this phone is 7.4.2

Does that mean I need to upload the new phone image into UC560? how do I do that?? when I tried downloading the 7.5.2a image and in CCA try to upload it through: Maintenance->Phone Load Management, then try to upload the zip file, i get this error "Software pack is not valid for this device. Please upload the correct software pack"
    I'm at these current versions

    Thanks

    Hello,
I recommend that you take a backup of your system and upgrade the IOS and Voicemail to the latest version as per this release note. Lots of bug fixes between your release and this release. Also, you may be able to use the software download to get the latest SPA525G2 firmware.

  • Conference Phone 8831 with 7.1(3)

    Hi,
Is there anyway to add Conference Phone 8831 to CUCM 7.1.3?
in datasheets it is only for CUCM 7.1.5+,

It depends on what CUCM you running whether it is restricted or unrestricted, you can find it with the help of below link. If CUCM is installed as restricted then you must go for restricted version (UCSInstall_UCOS_7.1.5.35901-1.sgn.iso) only.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12079741/how-find-installed-cucm-iso-restricted-or-unrestricted
If you plan well, then it is not a difficult activity its like device pack installation just you need to switch the version after new iso installation and you dont need to reconfigure anything except frimware; if you dont want to update the firmwares then you can revert back the firmware names in device default.

  • Can UC560 support CP7926

Looking to setup a UC560 in a manufacturing/warehouse environment and the CP7926 bar coding capabilities would be great; the product description states it works with Unified Communications Manager and not Manager-Express:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps11266/index.html
Are there plans to allow 7926 to work with UC560 if it doesnt today?
    thanks,
    Hector

    Hello Hector,
I know that the latest version on CCA does NOT include the 7926, but the latest IOS does list the 7926.  So this phone should work, but would need to be configured using CLI.  Also, I do not believe that the bar coding capabilities would work as the UC560 is running Call Manager Express, and not Unified Communications Manager.  With the UC560, you would likely get phone capabilities only.
    Thank you,
    Darren

when i connect my network with transparent mode firewall no dhcp amd no phones are working . but if i remove asa and i connect with uc560 to switch everything is fine.
is there anyway to work multiple voice and data vlan in asa 5505 transparent mode.

  • CUCM Device Pack - Cluster Reboot

I'm going to be adding a device pack to CUCM 8.6 to add support for the 8831, with one Pub and one Sub.
Do I need to install the device pack on both and reboot the simultaneously or in order such that:
    Install on Pub
    Reboot Pub
    Install on Sub
    Reboot Sub

As a side note on Terry's post.  If you want to keep your current firmware loads after the reboot make sure you annotate other devices and what they were using.  Some people prefer to keep their old phone loads while using the new device pack just for the 8831s or whatever other new devices they are installing.

  • AIR-E-K9 LAP521G error

    Hello,
    I have a wifi access point AIR-E-K9 LAP521G.
    Is it compatible with UC560.
Or do we need a AP521G?
    Nicolas

Yes, the AIR-LAP521G-E-K9 is compatible with the UC500 series. However, the AIR-LAP521G-E-K9 is not a standalone access point and cannot be deployed without the AIR-WLC526-K9 controller. The AIR-AP521G-E-K9 is the standalone version, and it is also compatible with the UC500 series.
Both the AIR-AP521G-E-K9 and AIR-LAP521G-E-K9 have been discontinued and have been replaced by the AP541N-E-K9 model. The AP541N-E-K9 is a standalone AP that is capable of clustering without the need for a wireless controller. The AP541N-E-K9 can be managed by CCA 2.2 and later.

I recently installed a new CP-8831 with two wireless microphones.  Everything works perfect except that callers on the other end report that it is hard to hear me until I literally hold one of the wireless microphones up in front of my mouth.  Is there any way to increase the volume on the microphones?

  • UC560 and 8831 device

I have a UC560 which is EOL, along with a 7937 which is also EOL. Is there sw available to add a 8831 to the UC560 or am I simply out of luck.

    Hi Ronco,
You're out of luck. Cisco 8831 is not supported on UC560. You can buy a ThirdParty Conference SIP Phone to register it on UC560.

  • UC560 T1E1 with Direct TCP SIP

    Hi,
Firstly I am new to cisco's voice setup, and have a UC560-T1E1-K9 which I need to configure as just a basic gateway. Essentially i want to setup trunk-to-trunk between ISDN PRI and TCP SIP but do not have the first idea where to start.
The main aim is to receive calls over ISDN PRI (E1 NET5) and pass the call stright through to a direct tcp sip trunk (incoming only).
Then configure FXS for a few numbers for two way calling.
Hope someone can give me a couple of pointers as the CUE is not very helpful
    Thanks,
    Alex.

    Hi,
    You have two approaches.
    Option A
Use CCA to configure the unit from scratch. Configure the unit for your ISDN connection and test using the fxs ports. Manually configure a SIP dial-peer to route inbound PSTN calls to your Lync server. You'll need to tweak the configuration at various places to make it work. You therefore need to be pretty confident in understanding all the work CCA has done for you. The benefit this, is you have a local outbound dial-plan pre-configured on the unit.
    Option B
Configure the unit yourself from scratch. Rough outline:
    1. Configure E1 controller for voice
    2. Setup the DSP modules for your region
    3. configure a pots inbound dial peer to accept calls from the PSTN
    4. configure an outbound SIP dial-peer to send the calls to Lync.
Lync expects calls to be prefixed with a + & E.164 and bare in mind the telco may only send you the last 6 sigits of the called number
Here's an example for UK ISDN with 30 timeslots: note module slots will be incorrect in this code, example is generic IOS and not specific to UC560.
    1. Configure E1 controller for voice
    card type e1 0
network-clock-participate wic 0  ! something like this, you may need to work out which slot you have
network-clock-participate slot 1 ! or something like this
    network-clock-select 5 E1 1/0 ! you get the idea....
    controller E1 1/0
    pri-group timeslots 1-31
interface Serial1/0:15 ! do a show run to check the right interface slot number
description "use dial-peer voice 10 to reach me for outbound"
    no ip address
    encapsulation hdlc
    isdn switch-type primary-net5
    isdn timer T309 400000
    isdn incoming-voice modem
    isdn T309-enable
    isdn send-alerting
    isdn sending-complete
    no cdp enable
Your E1 card should now be up
    c2821.1.hex#show controllers e1
    E1 1/0 is up.

    voice-port 1/0:15
    cptone GB
    bearer-cap Speech
    3. configure a pots inbound dial peer to accept calls from the PSTN
I suggest at this point, you debug isdn q931 and dial in. See how many digits the telco sends you.
Configure a number translation to put this number in to E.164
In my example we take the 6 digits the telco sends us and prepend 441234
