CP1025nw printing on glossy paper

I just purchased the CP1025nw. I bought HP laser photo paper, glossy, but the printer will not print a decent photo. It starts out OK and then the colors just smear together.  Any setting that should be done that I am not doing?  Or a different glossy paper I should be buying?
Thanks....

This listing has many symptoms and causes of issues related to laserjet printing and it would appear that if there is 'smearing' the paper may be resisting the toner or the cartridge may be damaged. These are just a couple of possibilities but I would recommend reading through the article and solutions regarding this issue. If you are still having issues please post back!

  • WONT PRINT ON GLOSSY PAPER

I HAVE A HP PHOTOSMART D700 SERIES PRINTER. FOR SOME REASON IT WILL NOT PRINT ON GLOSSY PAPER. IT TELLS ME PAPER MISMATCH, PAPER WRONG SIZE OR INCORRECT PAPER SELECTION. I HAVE TRIED EVERY TYPE OF PAPER THAT IS AVAILABLE ON THE MACHINE. IT WILL PRINT ON FLAT PAPER WITHOUT A PROBLEM

Hard Reset – While printer is powered ON, pull
the power cord from the printer then from the
wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to
wall and printer. This will trigger a ‘dirty power
up’ and restore the printer to a known good
condition (if it is possible). No user settings
are lost with a ‘hard reset’.

  • Cannot print on glossy paper any more

I used to be able to print on glossy paper and no longer can do so.  Anybody know why.  I also cannot scan any more.
I think I am missing some software but I have no idea how it got lost or how to get it back.  This has been going on for more than a year and I have been working around it but I need to use it now.
    Any help out there.  Thanks

  • Duplex Printing on Glossy Paper

I have a MG 7150 printer. I am making a photo album but encountered a problem when I tried to print on my double-sided glossy paper. When I select any paper type, other than plain paper, the option for Duplex printing is 'greyed' out.
     I tried plain paper but,
    1. The print showed through from the reverse side.
    2. The photos were shocking!
Is there a way around this?

  • Solid color printing on glossy paper 6500n

Trying to print some brochures with some fairly large solid  areas (Pantone Reflex Blue C and 1235 C) on 32lb glossy paper. Printing from InDesign. Pictures look excellent but the solid areas look awful. Tried many different paper settings and other settings. Any suggestions for making it look at least reasonably better?

  • Default print tray keeps reverting to Tray 1, asking for glossy paper on HP P3015

We have a new HP P3015 at work, and a few days ago it started defaulting to Tray 1, and asking for Glossy paper.  I have followed all onscreen instructions for changing print tray multiple times, and tried hard booting the printer a couple of times.  There is no paper in Tray 1, and it is shut.  For each print job, I must walk over to the printer and press OK to change print trays, and OK again to print.  How can I clear these settings so that the printer will revert to printing from Trays 2 and 3 without having to walk over and change it for every job?
It also started printing much more slowly that when we first set it up a couple of months ago.

switch off the printer, take the paper out of the tray, reassemble the paper properly, then put the paper back and switch on the printer, it should work
or just change the paper specificationo in A4 legal paper it should work then

It shoots out a blank sheet with the edge slightly crimped for about 1 1/2 inches, about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the sheet. It displays the message "Paper mismatch. Paper size or type is incorrect." I have no idea what is causing this problem. It had printed perfectly up until now, but it has given the same error message for the last several different job attempts, and I'm stumped.
I look into the printer from the paper tray and above, and see no obstruction. Any ideas?

  • Which printer is recommended by real users to print on glossy photo paper?

My MG8100 can't seem to grab the glossy photo paper when I am printing pictures. Very frustrating to spend so much on a machine that is for printing photos and the rollers are plastic and won't grab the glossy paper. Thanks for any suggestions.

    Thanks for the updated information!
This type of paper is supported with the printer. There are a few things we can check as to why it is not pulling it. First, make sure the glossy paper is being loaded into the rear tray of the printer. It cannot be pulled from the bottom tray. Also, if you load too many sheets, it may not be pulled. To help test the issue, try loading just one sheet and try again.
If all else fails, please run through a few roller cleanings. Check out the link below for step-by-step directions:

If the issue persists, we'll need to do a little more troubleshooting to determine what may be occurring. Please reach us at http://bit.ly/Phone_Support for further assistance.

  • Printing black on glossy paper

I have the photosmart b210a. It is evident that if any type of glossy paper is slected as paper types then the black ink is not used and colours are used to make black, meaning alot of ink is used and black never comes out true black.
I can get around the issue by setting the paper type to anything else then the black is used. Even if the paper is actually glossy photo paper the blacks then come out fine.
Question: Why does the printer have this limitation? Will the printouts be compromised in any way by setting the paper type to something other than glossy when glossy is actually what is used?
Why does this photo printer come with a setting that prevents the black being used on glossy photo paper even though it seems to work OK if you set the paper type to the incorrect type? Thanks.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this. I am currently getting by by using the wrong paper setting but I would be interested if there is a solution.

  • CM1312 always produces "glossy" prints on plain paper

I have a networked CM1312nfi.  I print on plain paper, 24 lb.  When printing in colour, the areas of the page containing colour always appear to have a semi-glossy sheen on them.  (This occurs whether printing from Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.6.)  Is this normal, to be expected?  In contrast, when printing on an HP 4700dn at work, there is no sheen at all.
Is there a way to control this? My properties specify that I am printing on plain paper.  If it is expected on this printer, why the difference with the 4700?
    Thanks for any ideas here.

  • Print on thick paper cp1025 nw Color

Having problems printing on thick paper. How do I adjust the settings

    Hi @Lil2 ,
I see that you are experiencing issues printing on thick paper and would like to know how to set the printer drivers.
I would be happy to help you.
The paper supported to use with this printer is: 60 to 176 g/m² (plain paper); up to 220 g/m² (glossy paper).
This information was provided by the Data Sheet for the HP LASERJET PRO CP1020 COLOUR PRINTER SERIES.
What paper type and weight are you using?
What is the issue that you are having? (paper feed issue, smeared printing)
I have provided a screen shot, (different model) for where the drop down would be to check for the different printer options. Select the Finishing menu or yours might show Media and Quality, to select the Media-type from the list.
You can also save this setting as a Preset.
Select the print settings that you want to save for reuse.
In the Presets menu, click the Save As... option, and type a name for the preset.
    Click the OK button.
    Use printing presets:
On the File menu, click the Print option.
    Select the driver.
In the Presets menu, select the printing preset.
Here is also a document for Resolving Print Quality Issues.
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

    Veblen

Make sure the Printer is installed on your machine. If the printer is not installed on your machine the paper type will come as unknown.
    After installing the printer :-
    1. select the printer in the "Select Printer" setting.
    2. In the Printer setting option click on "Change Settings" button.
    3. Select the paper in the "Paper type" dropdown list.

  • Where is the option for Premium Plus Glossy paper?

I have a new Photosmart B8550 and want to try some prints using glossy Premium Photo Paper. However, in the drop down menu list of the various types of papers to choose from, I don't see any listing for Premium Photo paper!
The entry for 'Advanced Photo Papers' (with the 's', as if it's plural) is there, and there are a couple of entries that say Premium ..a simple premium paper and a matte presentation type. But I don't see anything to indicate a Premium Photo paper. So...very odd since there's is supposedly an actual HP Premium Photo Paper.
Any idea what I have to do to actually see the option for glossy Premium Photo paper?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • How do I choose Epson Premium Glossy paper in CS4?

I want to print some colour copies from Photoshop CS4 on my Epson Photo 360 colour printer but as I want to use Epson paper I want to stipulate Epson premium glossy paper before printing so that I can get the best result. I used to be able to enter this info into Photoshop CS3 (print/ page set up/ media type) but can't find this in CS4. Can anyone help please?

With a document open, go to the File menu and choose ''Print". In the large window that opens, click on the Print button at the bottom; this brings up a small print dialog box. In that dialog box you'll see three pop-up type menus. Open the bottom menu and choose "Print Settings". In the print settings window you'll see a place to choose your "Media Type".
    Hope this helps.
