CP1515n will not connect to our switch (100baseTX)

As a workaround I've added an old 10baseT hub between the printer and the LAN, this hub only supports 10M half duplex, which the printer detects and connects to OK. Unfortunately this means extra "junk" on the printer table.
My guess is the ethernet autonegotiation is failing.
I've tried it direct to the switch and the connect light flashes intermittently.
I've tried it through a different switch and it responded to pings intermittantly. DHCP fails in this configuration.
I've tried turning off autonegotiation on the printer to no avail, the switch still didn't react. I have a router with a configurable switch, I might try that and configure the ports manually.

Make sure the server is the server address without http:// or https://. I read a thread earlier this week that had this issue and was solved this way.

  • TS1398 My ipod touch will not connect to our wifi all of a sudden. It has worked fine for 6 months and now just has stopped connecting. I have done all the trouble shooting tips available. Any other ideas?

We bought this itouch for our daughter for Christmas (2011), It has worked fine all this time until now. All of a sudden it will not connect to our home wi fi. All the other ipods/iphones/laptops and desktop are connecting fine so I know it is not the router itself. I have tried all the standard troubleshooting tips (forgetting the network and resetting it on the ipod, turning it off an on, plugging it in and updating the software, we even restored it completely from itunes as a new ipod). It lists the network as available but then when you try to connect it just sits there with the little circle icon thing spinning, trying to connect but never does. Please help!

So you also rebooted your router correct?  Does the iPod still connect okay to other networks?

  • We have an old titanium PowerBook that will not connect to our AirPort Extreme network. What gives.

We have an old titanium PowerBook that will easily connect to any WiFi cafe or hotel network, but will not connect to our AirPort Extreme network. What gives.
When the Apple Tec. installed our network for our 3 iMAXs, he couldn't it to connect either. Of course our two iPads have no trouble connecting.
We are also having trouble getting it to upgrade from OS 10.5.8 to 10.6, even though I have a Snow Leopard up date family pack.

What is your Wireless Security setting on the network?  Since you are running Leopard, I may not have the desired answer, but some of the Airport-equipped laptops, like the TiBooks, are said not to support all of the settings.  I have an AE network which supports b and g, with "WPA2 Personal" settings and the TiBooks connect with that one OK with 811.b Airport.
Oh, and no way to upgrade beyond 10.5.8 Leopard for PPC machines like the Titanium G4 Powerbooks, as 10.6 and above require Intel processors.
EDIT: I didn't notice this, but the TiBooks may be connecting with WPA encryption on my network, as I have the following display on my settings:

  • TS1398 Despite trying the recommended options listed above, my Ipad will not connect to our home Wi-Fi. The problem has  only started happening this morning. The ipad recognises the wi-fi network but will not connect.

Despite trying the recommended trouble shooting options, my I pad will not connect to our home Wi-Fi network. The problem only started occurring this morning, and although it will recognise the Wi-Fi network, it will not connect.
Any other options I can try????

Try rebooting the router. Just pull the power for a few seconds. No settings are lost.

  • Windows 8.1 Pro workstation will not connect to our domain

    My situation has me puzzled.
I've got a workstation that I want to be added to the domain. I got it added no problems. When I go to login on my own user account on the domain, it works as it should.
As I hand off this workstation over to a user and had them log into it, they mention that "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request."
I checked their group policies on the domain controller and its setup exactly like the others.
Most of our machines are windows 7 pro, and they all are able to login to the domain just fine; including the person in question from before on a windows 7 pro machine. For some reason however, using the same credentials and same everything else, it refuses
to attempt to try to connect to our domain.
If I'm able to connect using windows 8.1 pro on my account, while a normal user can't, I suspect its a group policy issue? The user is a member of "domain user" group so I'd think that would be the only real ticket they would need. Again they can
use their own credentials under windows 7 pro and connect up fine, and my very own credentials for windows 8.1 pro machine logged in and carried out group policy information as well.
Well now here is something, just as I was typing this up, I made a test account that has domain admin rights and low and behold, it was able to log in though it doesn't appear that group policy mapped drives or shortcuts were placed.
I guess the question now is what would a domain admin have over a domain user that would allow a domain admin to log in and not a domain user that is specific to windows 8.1 pro.

    Hi
Check your DNS settings on the machine. Are you using static entries at all?
Can you ping the DC from that machine? Also try turning off UAC and check your firewalls.
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Yes I have already reset to default factory settings, No we do not have our service encrypted or password protected, anyone else have any other viable suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

    Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    - Restore from backup. See:

  • S710 will not connect to homehub wi-fi

    Hi.
We've had our BT Broadband anywhere and mobiles for years now - the other half is still using his S710 but in the past week or so it will not connect to our hub via wi-fi. It'll connect to Openzone, BT Fon no problems and when my home office router is on will connect to that wi-fi. It just will not hold the network key for the home hub (even with the previous work around of turning the unit off/on even taking the battery out when the key is typed in).
I changed to the HTC Touch as soon as BT had it in their portfolio and have no problems connecting to the hub wi-fi. So it suggests something's up with the S710.
Any ideas gratefully to sort it out received.
    Thanks.

Has he recently made a connection via BTOZ/Fon or your home office router that is still selecting it/them as the primary connection?
Tell him to check his settings for the 710, and make sure that your hub serial code is the primary connection route.
Could always do a soft re-set of the 710 against the hub serial code.
(There are better handsets now available than the 710)

I've been working on our church website and all of a sudden this week, my computer will not connect to the site. I keep getting a message saying that the the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can fix this?

The "The connection was reset" error message can be caused by a bug fix for the BEAST (Browser Exploit Against SSL/TLS) attack that the server doesn't handle.

It has happened to others, which you would have known by searching the forum.  This is very basic forum etiquette.
Use the search button at the top of the page, or look in the MORE LIKE THIS area to the right.  You'll find your answer in no time!

  • Since upgrading, both our wireless printers are still visible, but OSX will not connect with them.  Both work via connecting from other sources via the same wireless router (airport).  What do I need to do to get my printing/scanning working again?

Since upgrading, both our wireless printers are still visible, but OSX will not connect with them.  Both work via connecting from other sources via the same wireless router (airport).  What do I need to do to get my printing/scanning working again?

First thing to try is reset Printing System:
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
Next would be reset the router (power off 15 secs then back on). And, 2 minutes later, reset the printers 1 by 1.

  • Asha 220 will not connect to internet

    Hi
I have a new Asha 220 that will not connect to the mobile internet. The settings were installed remotely by text from the service provider. If I try to access any of the internet functions I get the message:
“Can’t load page at the moment, please check your connection and try again”
I have taken the handset into the local phone shop and they confirm that the settings are correct. All other functions are working perfectly.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.

Hi, rod55. Welcome to our Microsoft Mobile Community. Let's first try to isolate what's causing the issue. Have you tried using your another compatible SIM on the phone with a correct settings? Does the issue happen regardless of your location? You may also try to restart your phone by switching your phone off and take the battery out. Wait a few seconds put the battery in and switch your phone on. Let us know if these steps will help.
    We'll wait for your response.

I have a new video ipod that will connect on one computer but not the one I want to use. I have reloaded itunes several times and checked firewall. When I plug the ipod in the computer makes three dings. Is this an error code of some type? It will not show up in diagnostics and after trying it shuts down internet connection until computer is re-booted. It connects fine on the other computer. Has anyone got any answers? I have tried different plugs and it shows to charge just will not connect.

You want to check and see if the other computer has usb 2.0 first.
If it does try to reset the ipod while it is plugged into the computer. Reset is the menu and the center button on the ipod. Also make sure the hold switch is all white.
Also you want to make you that you try different usb ports.
If that doesn't work use msconfig type that into the search here on the support page let me know if this works.
