Cp3 project upgraded to Cp4 breaks Streaming

Hi all, I have a simple Project that worked fine in Captivate 3. I was able to rtmp Stream a video using the format
rtmp://CDN/cfx/st/
and
StreamName
without the .flv
where CDN is the URL of a Content Delivery Network and StreamName is the filename (without extension of a FLV file)
I opened the file in Cp4 and upgraded (after backing up) and it no longer works i.e. streaming never starts.
I suspect that something subtle has changed between the two Captivate versions but am at a loss to figure out what. Any ideas out there ?

Did you also install the update? I understand it corrects some things. So perhaps it also affects audio.

Converted CP3 projects will not publish correctly in CP4

We recently started using CP4 and have no problems with projects created in CP4. However, we are experiencing problems with CP3 Projects which are converted to CP4.
When we publish to SCORM 1.2, we do not get a zip file though it is selected. We get only 4 files created - the main htm file, the full screen htm, the swf and the standard.js. I have checked and rchecked our settings and can find nothing amiss.
I have searched all over and can find nothing referring to this problem.
Has anybody run across this problem? We would Really appreciate any help with this.

You may want to search the forum for other posts related to the manifest and such SCORM files not being published. I've not seen the published results not be .zipped when they're selected to be, so that's odd, but it may be related to the same manifest/SCORM issue (SCORM settings not correct so .zip file setting ignored?).
First, try unchecking the .zip option, Save As a new file, open the new file, check the .zip option, publish.
Second, you must have scored interactions in the CP lesson for the SCORM items to be published. Check your Advanced Interaction panel. Are there scored interactions listed?
Third, you have all the proper settings in the Publish > Quiz section? SCORM and such choices?
If everything exists as it should, two other options I can think of:
1. Try to copy all slides out of the lesson and paste them into a new, blank one. That may help reset whatever problems CP is having.
2. Search these boards, or await someone else, for some preferences or such file that can be deleted. I don't recall specifics but there's some file that holds various CP settings that seems to get corrupted...

Cannot 'Unmark Blank' for FIB Questions after Upgrade from CP4 to CP5 (Fill in the Blank)

Hi Everyone!
I'm having trouble editing a fill in the blank question that was upgraded from CP4 to CP5.
The problems is I cannot see where the blank is. Not the blank in my sentence, I have that, but the entry box. When running the course the blanks are at the TOP LEFT corner fo the slide.
but when creating the course I can't see where the blanks are, to move them.....
So to Troubleshoot, I thought I'd re-construct the answers, I clicked the sentence, and clicked unmark ... but it does not unmark....
<EDIT> Okay I got it to unmark, sorta, but not really. Now I have three answer boxes on the test in run mode, but cant see ANY in CP5 when building it. </EDIT>

(re-constructing the question on a new slide is not desired, I have hundres of questions, considering my 30 courses.

Sorry, but I do not understand your question quite well, it is an editing issue when upgrading. Perhaps it would help if you posted some screenshots?
And to be sure: did you install the patch for CP5 released in December?

VS 2010 Silverlight project upgraded to VS 2013 - not hitting break point.

thank you for taking the time to read this posting.
we had developed a SL project using VS 2010 and it was successfully upgraded to vs 2013. after a couple of hiccups, the application compiled and ran successfully. the SL app is still in .net framework 4.0.
due to some changes, we wanted to debug the application. Even after marking a couple of break points, we found that vs 2013 did not hit the breakpoints when we ran the app with F5.
We tried the following and it still would not hit the breakpoint:
1. deleted the /bin and /obj directories in SL and .Web projects.
2. deleted .xap file and /bin /obj directories.
We tried attaching/detaching the sl process in Firefox. IE, and chrome - no luck.
any suggestions will be appreciated.

Unable to modify skin settings after project upgrade from Cp3 to Cp5

Folks, just got the full upgrade from Cp3 to Cp5 (not a trial version and Cp3 is wiped out and there's no going back). One of the first snags I'm finding is that when I wanted to publish, I cannot modify my skin settings. Before in Cp3 I had a saved my skin settings as a named profile, which is what you see in the attached image. However, the skin profile is no longer a link so I cannot click and modify it.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a workaround?

OK, perhaps I found the answer... and the problem was due to my own unfamiliarity with Captivate 5 (or over-familiarity with Captivate 3).
Basically, the skin editor is now accessed by Window > Skin Editor (or Shift + F11). So, it appears that the difference is that now from the publish dialog box there is not a hyperlink to the skin editor as there was in Cp3. That's fine by me as long as I can get to it!

Artifacts and transparency issues in projects converted from CP4 to CP5.5

I've recently upgraded to ELearning Suite 2.5 and converted a major project I'm working on. Aside from captions no longer fitting their spaces I'm seeing many many examples of corrupted images. These were 24-bit PNGs created in the corresponding versions of Photoshop. In some cases there are, for lack of better words, "artifacts" appearing near the original images, in one case a background has what looks like a smudge.
But the worst problems by far are transitions within slides that involve transparency, for but one example: a background image set to 20% opacity that fades in over 20 seconds. In Captivate 4 it slowly appeared and remained nicely translucent when the fade-in completed. The converted version has small black dots appearing like a swarm of gnats at various time throughout the fade-in and like a glowing residue when the fade-in finishes. It's completely unacceptable — I can't publish the project in its current state.
The CP4 projects were created in AS2, and they're converted to AS3. Is that the problem? Do I have to use CP4 and the 4.0 version to complete projects already in progress?
Any advice, thoughts, ideas, similar experiences?

Thanks! It was set to "Retain Quality Settings," and I never touched it after the upgrade. I cranked it to High, re-published, and I think it may now even be a bit sharper than the older version.

Integration Service Upgrade of 2012R2 breaks Windows 2012 VM

Hi,
we have setup a new server with Windows 2012 R2 and migrated our VM's over to it.
OS within the VM's are Windows 2008 Server, Windows 7 and Windows 2012.
Everything works fine. Integration Service Update was needed and I could install it on all VM's, except one, that also runs Exchange 2013 on a Windows 2012.
Once I install the Update of the Integration Service, the VM acts weird. It takes about 30 minutes until I could log in. (Probably network problem after the udpate). Once logged in, if I switch to desktop view, the task bar doesn't show items other than
the clock, clicking it results in the question, if I want to end a hanging process no matter if I say yes/no no luck. Server Manager opens (very slow), but it doesn't load data (wanted to check nic).
CMD with ipconfig doesn't show a network adapter, just the tunneling-peudo-interface.
Load of the server doesn't show high CPU or Memory consumption, nor high disk i/o. Using Alt/TAB it shows a window called "Immersive Background" (tried to translate to english).
Starting the network manager via
control.exe /name Microsoft.NetworkAndSharingCenter
doesn't open it either. But I can open like Resourcemonitor, Powershell and quite some other programs.
So something is failing here after the update.
Does Exchange and the new Integration Service break each other?
I rolled back VM to an older snapshot and tried the same thing again, same result. On our Replication host, I did a Testfailover, with no network connectivity, everything fine, again, until new Integration service are installed/updated, the host seems broken.
So I have no clue what's happening here or where to start to search. The main problem is, that backups have to be done offline and not online until new integration services are up and running.
Any guess what to try or what breaks the new integration services? Or is it really in conjunction with Exchange?
We didn't upgrade the VM to 2012R2, just the root node.

Get-VM | ft Name, IntegrationServicesVersion
2. Please confirm your exchange vm the following service is running.
3. Please confirm your SYSTEM account have write permission on the following registry,
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Svchost
If not
please add full permission on it.
4. In exchange vm the
System Device manager must have a “Microsoft
Hyper-V virtual machine Bus” device.

RH7 project upgraded to RH8 won't output .epub

I want to make a project available as an epub edition. I've upgraded to RH8 and imported the epub generator script and the zip programme. When I open my project (which was created in RH7) I upgrade it so it will work in RH8. I run the script and generate an epub file but on that is only 560kb big, which seems small for my project. If I try to open it it crashes Adobe Digital Editions.
I can create a new test project of a few pages and get this to work, so it is clearly not the installation but the project that is the problem.
My question is, how do I find out what is causing the conversion to fail? My project is quite complex with lots of images, footnotes, internal links and pop-ups so I don't really want to have to recreate the whole thing in RH8.

As you rethink the project, you might reconsider tailoring the content for epub so that it could actually be quite useful for those users viewing on a smaller screen.
Actually, this rethinking could be a beneficial two-way street: the epub formatting might prompt you to reformat across the board, thereby producing a leaner primary output. Think about it. As I like to say about extensive DHTML & JavaScript elements: just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Itunes 8.2.23 upgrade, now won't stream music via airport express

i (mistakenly) installed yesterday's upgrade to itunes and now when i stream music to my airport express it will play a couple of songs and then i won't get any sound. the song is still "playing" in itunes but it isn't being streamed to my digital receiver. if i pause the song and start it again i'll hear it but after a bit a new song will do the same thing.
i seem to remember having this problem after the last update but can't remember what i did to remedy it. i think i reverted back to the previous version but i'm hearing that i can't do that from this version.

Hey I'm on the phone with the Apple Rep now ( who will remain nameless ) here are the steps:
1. System Prefs
2. Go into SECURITY
3. Click on FIREWALL
4. Select SET ACCESS FOR SPECIFIC SERVICES AND APPLICATIONS
5. Click the "+" Button to "Add" iTunes
6. Restart iTunes
You may need to "Add" Other Stuff that you normally use like Skype, Or Logmein.com, etc...
I believe that in the the future Apple may have a better fix for this... the rep is saying he will escalate it...
Seems to be working fine... we'll see who it goes long term and after some restarts... I'm not sure if it's because of the work we did re-installing and changing setting but I'm getting the soccer ball of death right now... be curious to see what others find out.

RH 7 project upgraded to RH 9 does not show the doctype as XHTML

I’m using Robohelp version 9.0.2.271 and I successfully upgraded a project in Robohelp 9 from Robohelp 7. However, in the source at the top of the files, the doctype shows as HTML instead of XHTML as follows:

My co-worker who is using the same version of RH 9 upgraded this same project and her doctype shows as XHTML as follows:

"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
Shouldn’t the source show XHTML when using RH 9? And, if so, shouldn’t this have automatically converted when I upgraded the project from RH 7? Is there a setting or something I need to change to show this?
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling RH 9 several times and reconverted the project, as well, in case there was some problem with the install or the conversion, and have not had any success. I have also applied the 9.0.2 update after running the installation. Thanks for your help.

Blind cRIO project upgrade: 8.2.1 to 2011 problems

I have been working on an old cRIO project of ours, a cRIO project originially written in 8.0, and targeted to a cRIO-9004 on a 9104 chassis. It contains several network-published shared variables to talk to a host VI, so I was interesting in upgrading some versions of LabVIEW (away from 8.0) to help the performance of these shared variables. I upgraded to 8.2.1 immediately and had little to no problems.
After attending NIWeek, with all the talk of stability improvements and bug fixes, etc. I figured I would do a leap of an upgrade from 8.2.1 to 2011. I had no problems getting the code upgraded, or so I thought.
I started writing more code, using the new 2011 features without issue. However, when I went to test/debug these additions, I found that it seemed the code I had just written was not being used on the target? I could see the execution trace through my VI's (with trace execution on) and skip over anything new I had added. I cleaned the new cache feature out multiple times, restarted LabVIEW, mass re-compiled, did everything I could think of to get it to recognize my changes and deploy them with no avail. Also, I could put probes down, some would actually populate, and some would still show that they
had not been executed even though they both should have been executed at the same time. (on parallel lines)
Since, I have reverted back to 8.2.1 and I was able to implement the same changes without any problem. Maybe I should take smaller upgrade steps? Does anyone have some feedback for me on this?

Yes, I did that at first. I upgraded the existing (working) code without a problem. Yes, there were a few places i needed to replace the property nodes and clusters, but it wasn't hard. Then, I deployed it to my target, and it ran fine.
I only experienced problems after I started to edit my upgraded, working code in LabVIEW 2011. My edits would not apply to the target.
Furthermore, I have now downgraded to LabVIEW 2010 SP1 and I do not have this issue. Although, another issue has cropped up. I'm not able to run the FPGA VI Interactively whilst also running my RT VI. If i Run the RT VI first, the FPGA VI tells me that it is already in use. If i start the FPGA VI first, then the RT vi cannot and does not connect to the FPGA VI. I am certain i was able to do this in 8.2.1, and also in my debugging of my 2011 problem.

Project Upgraded from xcode 3.2 to xcode 4.5 give semantic errors

I upgraded my project from xcode 3.2 to xcode 4.5
My code is platform independent and it compiles sucessfully on Windows and Linux with out any errors
But on Mac 10.7.4 and xcode 4.5 it gives semantic errors - "Explicit specialization has extraneous, inconsistent storage class static"
I saw some post which sayes adding header search path as recurssive causes this problem. But all my header search paths are non recursive.
Please let me know what could be causing the issue. I am new to Mac and i would appriciate any help

What is the code in question? While the compilers in Linux and Windows will support templates, they will accept older syntax. The newer Clang compiler in Xcode strives to give better error messages and part of that is strict compilance with the C++ standard.

i think it wouldve been beta tested for the last 6 months at least

Why do I have to pay to upgrade iPhoto to use photo stream on my iMac. That upgrade or update should have been included in Lion!!!!!

Photo Stream alswo works with Aperture. That is the application I use. I rarely use iPhoto (09).
