CP5 - What does 'Completion' actually mean?

This sounds like a dumb question, I know.  But I'm wondering if 100% completion means that the user has viewed every slide, or if they have to have played every slide through to the end, i.e., listened to the audio.  Does anyone know?

I'm hugely relieved - I tested one with the click-ahead, and it
was marked as completed.  Phew!
I wonder if clicking to go ahead marks it as complete, while using the Forward button, which we don't allow, doesn't.
Anyway, my problem is solved.
Thanks, as always, for the feedback, Rod!

  • What does this actually mean and how do I fix it: Alert: Error Count Monitor Resolution state Object Hyper-V Virtual Storage Device Has a value

We are getting this alert on a fair few of our VMs with VHDXs and Dynamic VHDs. Everything seems OK but I am not sure what this actually means and what I need to do to resolve the issue. How do I reset the error count if that is what is required? Thanks

But I am getting this alert from SCOM and SCOM has no information about the alert for me to find out what to do - thought that was the point of SCOM to let you know of problems and how to resolve them. :)
The alert is coming from the Error Count Monitor that is part of the Hyper-V Management Pack Extensions (v 4.0.0.0)
I have tried looking in the Event Logs on the Host and there doesn't seem to be any storage related errors there. I am trying to establish if this is a false positive, why it is happening and if it is safe to override and ignore.
There is nothing on the Product Knowledge tab and nothing on the Alert Context other than what I have already mentioned (see below).

  • What Does It Actually Mean to "Buy" an Apple TV Movie?

Have searched but can't find the answer to the following: When I "buy" a movie via Apple TV, what happens to my "ownership" of that movie in the future? If I have to replace the original Apple TV device? If I get rid of Apple TV, then later buy another one? Are my purchases linked to my User ID and password so that I will have access to a purchased movie "forever"? Also, if one fills an Apple TV hard drive with purchased movies and wants to add more, what's the fate of the material "deleted"? If Apple TV ownership rights are addressed on the Apple site, I haven't been able to locate them.

the actual agreement is shown just before you buy any media.. not sure where to find it on the site.
but my understanding is that.. no downloads later as a rule, but some have managed to get apple to do this on a case by case basis when they have lost files. you are responsible for the safeguard of the files once downloaded. files can be played on 5 authorized computers (the 5 doesn't include appleTV and iPods)... i think computers can be de-authorized, so i guess it 5 computers simultaneously.
if you want to delete a file from appleTV then you should sync appleTV with a computer so the file can be backed up. even though apple advertises appleTV as a optionally a standalone devise... it'd be very unwise imo to use it in that way since the files on the appleTV cannot be backed up (if you sync with a computer they can be) and a glitch (software, HDD fails etc..) with appleTV would mean losing your files. if sycing is enabled then when files are purchased on the appleTV they auto sync back to the computer. if one streams from a computer additional HDDs can be purchased and attached to the computer meaning basically limitless storage.

  • What does it actually mean to say the website is stateless?

I am having trouble resolving an important query!
I understand that Azure websites are stateless in the sense of session state for a web application.
However, what I am getting contradictory messages about is as to whether if a website VM is reset, you would lose any changes to a website (i.e. it would revert to the original version).
This would seem rather peculiar, I would understand reversion to the last deployed version before a problem.
    So the questions are:
    1.  To what point in time is a website restored to if a VM fails (assuming we just have a single instance ?)
    2.  If the VM does get reset, do you lose the contents of the data, LogFiles and any custom directories in the site folders and  underneath the wwwroot directory you see when logging in with FTP?
I have just thought of a related question if you had multiple instances, would these custom directories and their contents replicate between instances? (i.e. would they sync to the latest version?)
The background is that the current site that is being moved from an ISP, will upload user files for temporary storage until the customer downloads them.  Obviously a long term aim is to get these into BLOB storage.

    Thanks David
I am 99% certain that answers by question, I do not see a D:\home but I assume the website is on d by default and the home directory just \ in an FTP client?
    Thanks :-)

  • What does refurbished actually mean?

I'm about  to buy a refurbished Macbook but cannot see any explanation of exactly what has been refurbished? How can I find out this detail?

    Apple Certified Refurbished Products
Apple Certified Refurbished Products are pre-owned Apple products that undergo Apple's stringent refurbishment process prior to being offered for sale. While only some units are returned due to technical issues, all units undergo Apple's stringent quality refurbishment process....

  • Spotlight: What does "last opened" mean?

There are so many things that were obvious in the old Mac search feature that are unintuitive in spotlight. For example, when you complete a search, you have three columns, name, kind and last opened. What does "last opened" mean?
Say I try to export a file from an application, and I don't know where I saved it. When I do a search for the file name, I get hundreds of results, as usual, and I can't find it in the list. When I click the "last opened" column, will that make it jump to the top of the list? I never actually OPENED it! I just exported it. There is no "date created" column.

"If files have unique names, why would there be hundreds of them? "
I had just named the file "Test" and there are a lot of files that have that as part of the name.

  • What does this message mean? : "The file name "DSC_0088.jpg" is offline or missing." ?

What does this message mean? : "The file name "DSC_0088.jpg" is offline or missing."   I am in the process of importing photos from iPhoto (don't really know what I'm doing....) and when I look at one of the imported photos that message pops up.  I know what "DSC_0088.jpg" is.  I don't know what it means that the file is "missing".

    CASpyr,
Thank you so much for your reply.  I have a couple of bigger issues that I am dealing with: too many photos on my laptop: 40,000! (Of course I have to throw away many of them, but that is time consuming). I have a MacBook Pro and have primarily used IPhoto. I have recently purchased 2 external drives and have transferred my photos to those, but I need a basic education about how photos are stored, copied, etc.  I have recently been told that iPhoto only shows and deals with jpegs, not RAW.  About 1/3 of my photos are RAW, so I purchased Lightroom, so I could do more with those RAW photos.  I have been told by my local Mac store that I need to delete most of my photos from iPhoto, because it's causing problems.  I am reluctant to do so until I am sure that all of the keywords, descriptions and editing I have done to these photos is not lost when deleted from iPhoto. I just watched a tutorial about importing to Lightroom and got out of it that I needed to copy photos from iPhoto to a file on my desktop and then copy to Lightroom.  I did that, it seemed to work.  Then (because of my storage/memory issues) I deleted the photos (just a few as an experiment) from that desktop file.  I'm guessing that is why Lightroom doesn't recognize the the photos.  It seems that (learned from another tutorial) that one uses "Add" , Lightroom is only connecting to the source of the photo, not  actually copying it to the program.  Sounds like I need to use the "Move" feature instead.  My ultimate goal is to store the photos on the 2 external drives and eliminate most of them from my lapop.  So my basic questions have to do with what data (metadata??) is copied from iPhoto to an external drive (RAW???) and what isn't copied. Basic understanding issues, obviously….  I hope this isn't too much to ask.  If you can recommend a book or resource that can explain those basic issues to me I'd appreciate it.  I just got back from a trip and I can't download my new photos until I manage the rest!
    Thanks,
    Nancy

  • What does this message mean: "power pc applications are no longer supported"?

What does this message mean: you can not start because power pc applications are no longer supported?

Here is a post that I assembled for another who needed to continue to run his PowerPC applications in Lion/Mt. Lion:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta.  Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion).  While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Workarounds:
    1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
    2.  If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
    3.  Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions, or find alternative software that will open your data files;
    3.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:
Full Snow Leopard installation instructions here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1365439
NOTE: STEP ONE of the instructions must currently be completed on a Snow Leopard or Lion Mac and the resulting modified Snow Leopard.cdr install file can then be moved over to your Mountain Lion Mac for completion of the remaining steps.
NOTE 2:  Computer games with complex, 3D or fast motion graphics make not work well or at all in virtualization.

  • What does it all mean?  Help! Mail error message!

The mailbox “~/Library/Mail/[email protected]/Sent Messages.mbox” is currently locked by “(null)” on host “c-24-20-121-133.hsd1.or.comcast.net”. If you open a mailbox that already is in use, you may damage its contents.
What does it all mean? It's just started popping up every once in while and I can't decipher it.........

OK. This is going to be a tough one.
First of all, even if you don't understand what the error message says, you can see that it refers to a mailbox called Sent Messages.mbox that's located in ~/Library/Mail/[email protected]/, so my question was whether you had similar problems with other mailboxes besides Sent.
Second, that mailbox is used by Apple Mail, you posted in a forum dedicated to discuss Apple's Address Book & Mail issues, and everything seems to indicate that you were actually using Apple Mail when you encountered the problem. So what does Outlook Express have to do with all of this?
