CP6 HTML5 publish, edit video timing

We are attempting to upgrade a couple of 5.5 projects in CP6 to test video playback.  We use "edit video timing" to place segments of video on each slide.  Is this approach supported in CP6 when publishing to HTML5?  We have not been able to get it to work as expected.
Also, does anyone know if the issue in 5.5 that causes audio dropout when Flash threads reach ~100?  We encounted this several times when using 5.5 and using video on multiple slides..
Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Edit Video Timing is supported in CP6 when publishing to HTML5.
Could you please share your project, if you are still facing the issue.
Please find a small demo on the same.
Thanks,

  • Edit video timing "ghost frame"

Building a project with narrator video used throughout course.  The video is one long file with individual video segments placed and timed on each slide using "edit video timing" in CP 5.5.
The problem: frequently during playback, the video referenced on a slide will display a random "ghost frame" before the correct video begins to play.  This is distracting since our design places the narrator on a clean white background.  The "ghost" appears to be a random frame from later in the video referenced on the slide.
To determine where the frame was being pulled from we put timecode on the video and recorded the screen during playback.  Attached is small video file that illustrates the problem.  Note that each playback attempt may show a different frame.  Each frame will be from the same general section of the video.
Video is F4V exported from Adobe Media Encoder.
    Appreciate any help.

    Video sample is at

Attached are the publish settings.  Based on your suggestion we published at "high" quality and tested this morning.  No apparent change in the "ghosting" problem.  We have noticed that the ghosting problem gets worse the longer the video file that is timed.  A seemingly obvious solution would be be make the video files shorter, however, using too many video files in a project causes audio dropout based on too many Flash player threads being generated.  I can point you to a long discussion thread on this if you don't know what I am referring to.
    I appreciate any other suggestions.

  • Edit Video Timing: default all slides to end of timeline

    Hello,
I'm working with Captivate to time some slides with portions of a video. Workflow:
    1) Insert PowerPoint slides
    2) Insert Video
    3) Edit Video Timing, line up slides to corresponding times
Is there a way to default all the slides to be at the end of the presentation instead of the beginning? I'm constantly dragging 20-30 slides around, when it would be much easier to put them at the end, move the scrubber to my desired time, and then place the next slide with the "move the next marker to the playhead position" button.
Also is there a way to change the Edit Video Timing timeline to be in min, sec instead of just seconds?
    Thanks!

You say : "I need the audio to stay where it is"
Don't forget that, concerning the audio (or anything else for that is "connected" to the primary storyline), you can always change the "connection lines" so it's not attached to a clip that might be deleted or moved downstream.
You can for instance temporarily move the "connection line" to a clip that is before the clip you're about to move (or delete). If you re-connect the line to a clip that stays still, well, the connected clip won't move :-) !
    Just use Ctrl Opt Clic
and clic on a clip that doesn't move. The "connection line" will move and be attached to this new clip. (and not to the clip that is moved downstream or deleted).
    Very useful.

  • Captivate 5 freezes when opening edit video timing

When I insert a video slide and go to Properties > Video > Edit Video Timing,  Captivate freezes and I need to restart the program. I first played around with feature about three weeks ago and did not experience a problem. Is there something in a recent update that is now causing this issue?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi there,
Not sure why it is happening to you all of a sudden. Can you restart captivate with fresh set of preferences.
    1. Close Captivate.
    2. Delete "Captivate 5" folder from "C:\Users\userName\AppData\Local\Adobe\" location
    3. Restart captivate and try the workflow you mentioned.
    Let me know.

  • Editing Slide Video Timing in CP5

I'm experimenting with editing the timing for slide video in CP5.  I have the video on one slide and now I want to distribute it over other slides but not equally like it does when asked when you first bring a video in.  I want to use the edit video timing from the Properties Inspector.  When I open the video timing and then try to slide the window on the screen it disappears and CP5 freezes.  Anyone else experience this issue?
    Thank you,
    Susan

    Hi,
Foubnd my own answer to this (although the preview is still a problem)...
My answer was to open a 2nd copy of CP....and view side by side :-)

  • Publishing Event Video to HTML5 ?

I have inserted an event video into a slide and uploaded an mp4 file.  When publishing the project and viewing it in a web broswer, the HTML5 output does not allow for any video controls, and as such the video does not play.
I cannot publish the video as a Multi Slide Syncronized ideo as I have several of these videos and would like the playbar within the slides and not as a whole for the project.
I have tried viewing the output in Firefox, IE, and Chrome and none of them work.
Is there some step I am missing?  How can I view the playbar for each video object in HTML5?  Thanks!

    Hi Andy,
I have the almost identical issue. I can insert the video onto the stage and select which skin/control to use, and it appears fine if I preview the project (swf), but the skin/controls do NOT appear if I publish to HTML5.
Did you ever find a solution on your own?
If not, it looks like I'll be stuck either with launching the mp4 video in a new window (using learner's media player) or using the auto-play to show it on stage with no controls.
    Thanks for posting this question!

  • When I publish a video, I lose half of the audio in "audio 2". I can hear it while editing. How do I fix this?

I published a video as an mpeg, and when I listened to the final product it was missing some music I had in the "audio 2" slot. How do I fix this?

    Cameron
Is the problem Audio Track 2 music from any of your royalty free music websites? Is the sound missing in the export
    standalone audio files
    or
audio that is linked to video?
What is directly under or above these files on the Timeline?
Download and install the free codec utility named GSpot.
And, tell us the readouts for Audio name, codec, and status.
    GSpot Codec Information Appliance
If also video component of the file, then please include the Video name, codec, and status information from the GSpot readout.
See what information you can put together on the properties of those royalty free audio files, including file extension. Are you dealing with Stereo or 5.1 channel (AAC or Dolby Digital)?
As for project preset, versions 11 and 12 were designed so that the project takes charge of setting the project settings based on the properties of
the first file drag to the Timeline. Sometimes it does it right. Sometimes not. If not, then you set the project preset manually using the properties of
your file. See ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
Lots of additional questions...curious how you hear the Audio 2 audio in Edit area but not in the exported file which you report as
    Publish+Share>Computer>MPEG under the preset "MPEG2 1920x1080i 30.
Any export setting customization going on under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of that preset?
Please review and consider and then we will decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • Why do I not have the option to publish my video demo to Adobe Connect?

I'm new to Captivate and recorded a video demo for my co-workers instructing how to set up and run an Adobe Connect Meeting. We have an account to publish Adobe Presenter and Captivate content to Adobe Connect Pro, and use it to host our Adobe Presenter presentations. I was under the impression I could publish the video demo from Captivate much like I do the presentations from Presenter in PowerPoint, however when I go to publish my video demo I am not given the option to publish to Connect. From what I've found (here: http://www.adobe.com/support/captivate/advanced/publish_acrobat.html), you can select/edit the server(s) you publish to under the Quiz menu, however my video demo has no quiz and I have no quiz menu.
This is what I get when I go to publish the demo:
..as you can see, no option to select a server.
This is the Preferences window. Again, no place to select a server:
I've found plenty of information on adding video demos to a Connect Meeting room, but I'd rather just publish it to Connect the way I do Presenter files. Is this possible or do video demos have to be added to meeting rooms instead? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • How can I edit videos uploaded to MobileMe (soon to be iCloud)

Perhaps I'm missing something, but it's less than intuitive how the MobileMe Gallery handles video.
You can post and delete photos easily through iPhoto, but how does one deal with the movies one uploads through iMovie?
I can't seem to find a nice centralized interface.
Is this coming in Lion? (Must watch Keynote tonight!)

Not sure what you  mean.  If you add movies to a MobileMe gallery in iPhoto and publish they are available online to play.  Just like photos are available to be viewed. Here;s such a gallery: Movie Gallery.
If you need to edit videos you need to do that on your Computer with iMovie or other video editing software.

If the .prel file is only the editing instructions and the video is in a separate file, how do you upload an edited video to a website of your choosing?

Wonderful news. And, many thanks for sharing the news of your project's success.
Those Windows Media exports (.wmv) are convenient because your export will have a smaller file size than if you had used another category under Publish+Share. File size can be important depending on how you are sharing your project's export.I believe you will do very well because of your instinct to explore and experiment with the program. Great learning tools.
Please let us know when and if we can be of assistance. If what I or anyone else writes is not clear to you, then ask for clarification. Books are great to tell you how
the program should work, but often may not help when the program malfunctions for causes not "by the book".
If your schedule permits, please update us on your progress which is looking very good.
    Best wishes

  • CP6 HTML5 output not completely displaying on Ipad

I just attempted my first CP6 HTML5 project.
    Worked great in Chrome browser.
Worked not so great on Ipad. About 40 pixels of right side of slide cut off and about 30 pixels of bottom cut off (viewing in landscape).
Verified size while viewing in Chrome and is exactly 1024 wide.
CP6 project setup: Selected "Ipad 1024x672".
Published to HTML5 and Zip file (running on LMS)
Any ideas why 1024 won't show up completely on Ipad?
    Thanks,
    Dave

Got it working. Needed to select the check box labeled "Scalable HTML Content" in the Advanced Options area of the Publish window.

  • When I try to publish a video in CS5 it adds the extension .new. Help please!

When I try to publish a video in CS5 it adds the extension .new. Help please!

Your video is encoded in a format that PS doesn't understand. It's as easy as that. AVIs are just containers that can contain a multitude of different CoDecs and settings. You will have to do some reading up on that matter and then use external programs like VirtualDub, MPEGStreamclip and otehrs to convert your file to something PS understands - if that realyl is what you need. Otehrwise simply move on to "real" video editing apps that can handle all that much better.

Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7 (presumed 64 bit).....
    1. Music files and error message...are these music files from iTunes? If so, convert them to .wav in iTunes to convert them to wav version, and then import the .wav version into Premiere Elements 13 project using Premiere Elements 13 Expert workspace's Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the wav version to the Soundtrack.
The following are the instructions for the iTunes converting
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1550
If any problems with the instructions, please let me know, and I will go through them with you.
    2. How you set up the project and the export settings that you select greatly influence your end product result.
    a. What are the properties of the source media?
    b. What project preset did you (manually) or the project (automatically) set to match the properties of the source media.
(If you do not know, please tell us what you see for the readings of Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, Pixel Aspect Ratio - even
if the fields look grayed out.)
    c. For your export...Publish+Share/Computer/and then what? And what preset? Did you use the default settings of the preset or did you
customize the export settings of the preset under the preset's Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab?
Let us start here and then decide what next.

I am shooting aerial video with a GoPro H3+ at 1080p 30fps and would like to edit videos and give them to my clients to use in as much media as possible for their advertising and marketing needs.  I would like to give it to them at the highest quality allowed.  What form should I save it in 'Publish and Share'?  I have Premier Elements 12.

    KM
Can we assume that your 1080p30 is an AVCHD.mp4 file or other?
You manually or the project automatically should set the project preset to
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p30 @29.97
(If your frame rate is really 30 instead of 29.97, then go with DSLR 1080p30 instead of DLSR 1080p30 @29.97)
See the following link for setting the project preset manually
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/04/pe11-accuracy-of-automatic-project.html
    For your export
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    with Presets = MP4 - H.264 1920 x 1080p30
Please let us know if you have further questions on this or need clarification on anything written.

You post with the generalized question regarding where to find instructions for the Premiere Elements burn to DVD. You were given those.
Now you write (with no in between message)
I need specific answers or no other suggestions.
I fully understand that and appreciate that. That is why I make it a point to customize my reply to the specific question being ask or to the
details of "what is not working". Where do I find your specific question and details in this thread so far?
So, to get to the specifics, just what is your specific burn to DVD issue that is causing to you write. There are many points along there way
where you may be stuck in the process.
If you read my question you can see where I’m stuck now
What are you doing when you get stuck. Telling me burning to DVD is not going to help.
    1. Do you know that after you edit your Timeline in the Edit area, you either go to Tools/Movie Menus or straight to Publish+Share/Disc/DVD disc?
    2. If so, how far do you get? Is it that you do not know the path or that you get hit with a program crash or any error message in the Publish+Share/Disc/DVD disc task? Is that where we are non communicating, distinguishing between the two?
I am prepared to give you right on answers if you can zero in on your question and details.
I want you to succeed. So, please help me to help you.
All I see from you so far is
I have edited a video with Premiere Elements. Now I cannot find instructions how to Burn this edited video to DVD or Blu-Ray disc. I have rendered to edited video.
