Cp6 TOC - video size and image border

Hi,
There seems to be a number of changes to the TOC in cp6 32 bit. Can anyone confirm whether they are having the same issues ?
a/ The video space size is now 4 pixels narrower. It was 196 by 144
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/830658
and it now appears to be 192 * 144 according to the help. .  We want to know whether this is right as it means we have re-encode videos.
b/ images now have a border when placed in the TOC. We have a logo with a white background on a white stage so it stand out. There doesn't seem to be an option to turn borders off

Hi,
The video space size and the border has definitely in 5.5 was also 196.
Can you confirm the height as well
Could you advise the border on the images in TOC information as this makes adobae captivate causes look poor as Borderless images are the norm in graphic design.
1. video size
The published size is 192 in 5.5 and 6
It used to squash it in 5.5, but it now gives an error message and then squashes it
In 5.5 in section non interactive objects and media - > using slide video -> best practices to use slide video effectively it is listed as
"Video dimensions:
Ensure that the video object dimension is the same as that of the original video for optimal quality.
Do not change the aspect ratio of the video even if you cannot maintain equal dimensions for the video object and original video. Otherwise, the video loses quality.
Keep the dimensions of a video that you want to include in the TOC as: Height 144 and Width 196."
In 6 you get an error message saying it should be  192 * 144
This blog also gives the same number
http://captaincaptivate.com/?p=550
These forum answers also give the same answer
http://forums.adobe.com/message/3579313#3579313
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4065836#4065836
This adobe seminar by Dr Singh also gave the same answer according to my notes ( but its been deleted)

order when placed in the TOC. We have a logo with a white background on a white stage so it stand out. There doesn't seem to be an option to turn borders off
2. border around image in the TOC
We have tried in the old version. None of them had a border around the image in the TOC in 5.5

  • Convert and save video, audio, and images to more than a hundred standard f

I bought Quicktime pro because it said it could "Convert and save video, audio, and images to more than a hundred standard formats". I have .mov that i took and want to change to an .avi
I feel stupid but how do i do it? shouldn't there be a "convert" or "save as" button?

AVI isn't dead, it remains the ONLY format in which any real editing can be performed (ie filters and colors and zooms etc). That said, converting FROM any compressed format like .mov back to an uncompressed format will not restore the information lost in the original compression conversion. Like the man said, you probably won't like the result. If you want to make an AVI to edit artistically, you'll need to go back to the source and re-record it to make an original uncompressed avi (example I use 'DVD to AVI converter' software to recode my homemade DVDs to a huge uncompressed AVI, then play with cutting and cropping and zooming and special effects and color filters, etc in a program such as VirtualDub, an THEN open in QT Pro to convert to MOVs to share).

  • Can you change the TOC font size and pane size?

I am using RH 9 to generate WebHelp whose output is ultimately being viewed by a QT browser on a Linux platform machine. In my WebHelp settings, I am using "(Traditional style -no skin)" and using "Show/hide navigation pane" in my topic navigation.
Because of the small size screen that it is being viewed on, the default TOC pane size is too big (takes up half the screen), and the TOC font is too small (defaults to 10 pt). I can't seem to find any where in the RH UI to change these two settings. Does anyone know the specific output file(s) where these are being stored so can I change these settings manually? I know that if I manually change them outside of RH, I'll need to do it every time file I publish my help system, but that's an acceptable workaround to me, given the importance of this issue to me.

  • JPEG size and image losses in Flash CS3

I am creating a website for a wedding and using the photos of the couple on the website.  I created designs in Photoshop CS3 with the following settings:
    Document Size: 6.25" x 8.25" or 1875p x 2475p @ 300pixels/inch
To use the image in flash, I used "Save As" in photoshop to convert image into JPEG with "Quality 10 Maximum" setting.
I created a Flash CS3 document with the following settings:
    Document Size: 6.25" x 8.25" or 494 x 550 pixels
I imported the JPEG image from photoshop into flash and came in an image much larger than 6.25"x8.25".  I resized the image in flash with constrained dimensions to 494x550 pixels and it the text shadows and glow lost its clarity.
    TRIAL 1
Obviously something was wrong.  So, I went back to Photoshop and used the save for web/devices option and saved it as a high quality JPEG.  Same result.
    TRIAL 2
This time, I tried a different trick in Photoshop.  I went to Image->Image Size and changed the image resolution to 150pixels/inch and used "Save As" again.  I imported it again to Flash and now the image was too small.
How do I match the image "save as" from photoshop to the flash document size so that I dont lose resolution?  I used Zoomify in photoshop successfully without losses.  Why is it not possible to just import an image to look the same way a JPEG file appears?

    Hi,
screen resolution is 72. So if you save your jpg at 72 with the desired size in pixels, the image will appear just fine inside flash, but, two things to keep in mind:
-What counts is size in pixels. Resolution only matters when you go printing (where the rate between inches and pixels is needed). For web you have to watch the size in pixels only. Even if resolution is different from 72, if you scale the image to the original size in pixels it will be displayed well in the flash movie (if the movie itself isn't scaled neither)
And, it isn't the exactly same to import to scenary that to import to library. When you import to scenary (ctrl+r) sometimes flash resize the object, so maybe you get some distorsion in jpg files. Going to transform panel or in property inspector panel you can set the image size to 100 percent again. When you import to library you have to drag the image into the stage, and then the image will appear at 100%.
    i hope this helps,
    Jorge

  • Getting file header size and image size

    Hi all,
Now that the AVI file type won't work for me, I have to do some of that functionality myself.
I can use the function to Get File Size, and the size is returned in bytes, so far so good.
I figured I could calculate the image size by taking the resolution, multiply X and Y, that gives me the number of pixels.
Then multiply pixels by bit depth, to get the number of bits, divide by 8 for the number of bytes.
Since bit depth is 8, the number of bytes will be exact (and the same as the number of pixels).
When I did the math, and divided by the file size, it didn't come to a round number, and was a larger number than the number of images I could display.
I figured there is probably additional information stored with each image, but I don't know how to adjust for that.
There may be byte clustering happening, making each image larger than the actual byte count would indicate.
And, there is probably file header info, but not sure where to get that.
I looked through the IMAQ functions, and didn't see one about getting the image size (I did see the one that returns resolution, but I have that data already).
Any suggestions on how I can calculate how many images are in my binary file?
And, how to get the byte sizes I need to be able to set the file pointer correctly to get an image out of the middle of the file?
    Thank you for any suggestions,
    Jeff

If I understand correctly You have binary file with multiple images inside and You want to extract that images?
Depending on image type You can search by tags where image begins and ends: http://www.impulseadventure.com/photo/jpeg-decoder.html and extract.

  • Enable video file and image file thumbnails WITHOUT enabling thumbnails for other filetypes

Hello. I am new to Mac and pulling my hair out at some of the limited UI options
I am wanting my image-files and video-files to appear in Finder (desktop etc) as thumbnails
However, I DON'T want PDFs, Excel, Word, PowerPoint files to have a preview thumbnail
Basically how things are now either way, it's very cumbersome visually to distinguish between file-types while cruising around my folders with a quick glance.
if thumbnail previews are on for all, its hard to tell at a quick glance which are PDFs, Excel files vs. images
similarly, the little "pdf" or "xlsx" or "docx" text overlay on these previews is so small and non-color coded as to be useless for quick-glance recognition of which filetype
if thumbnails are off, it's impossible to glance at files in a folder and know which image or video each is without wasting my precious miliseconds clicking on them, or trying to actually read truncated filenames
Here are some possible solutions which I hope somebody knows how to do:
globally enable or disable icon previews by filetype (preferred)
stipulate adding overlayed mini icons to certain filetypes
example: if it's a pdf, show the icon preview, but overlayed on that would be the red Adobe pdf icon/logo roughly a quarter of the size of the file icon (like is possible in Windows 7).
this way image and video previews can be seen at a glance, but having a big red or green or blue logo makes for immediate recognition of filetype
(least prefered but could help) ...somehow change the font color and increase the font size of the overlayed "pdf" "xlsx" "doc" "pptx"currently standard on these filetypes while showing icon preview but ALL are miniscule black text no matter which filetype
I'm quite dumbfounded right now that something for better immediate-glance filetype recognition isn't standard, or at least easily Google'able. All I've found is the Either/Other bamboozle.
Would love it to hear of a solution for this. Thanks all.

Put all of your separate flash movies into one move, and then
    use flash to
load the movies into a top section of the flash document.
Your site (this page) sounds like it would be best viewed
    entirely in Flash
    (at least easiest w/o reloading).

  • Set the video size and initial play settings

    Hi,
When I go to page which has swf file, the video displays
within few secs based on the net connection. But the problem is the
page is blank for 2-3 secs then controls display and then video
after 15 secs. I'm not sure why it happens like this but is there
any way while the video is loading can I have loading image. The
progressive bar shows but like I said till the vidoe displays its
blank. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. For example if
you go to this site you can see loading image.

Also when I move over the flash movie, it shows an other box
out of movie. What is that and can we have movie as well as outer
    box/border the same?
Please anyone know the solution help me out, if need be I can
send you the screenshot of the page so you understand much

Just place a loading movieclip on top of the
flvplayback/video object turn it's visibility off when the flv has

  • N96 native rss reader font size and images

    Hi!
I love the native rss reader on my N96 and I use it a lot. However there are a few things that I would like to have better:
Font size. The font is huge. Although it works if you sit in a car on a bumpy road, it would be nice to be able to adjust it.
Images don´t always fit on to the screen. Scrolling sideways is impossible because then you jump to the next topic.
Links in the news don´t work. They just open the original item in the browser window.
Sometimes the text goes over the edge, and again scrolling sideways doesn´t work.
Someone had made a better html template for the news reader on n95, but it didn´t work on my n96 so I don´t know any way how to fix these problems.
    Thanks

you probably have a security sandbox issue.
    what's your url?

  • Problem with document size and images in KM Repository

    Hi,
We get a problem in KM that when we upload documents example pdf and so we donot get respective document icon and also the document size always shows as 0 Bytes.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Manish

    Hi Manish,
I just uploaded a PDF, 2.8 MB. It appears, /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/etc/public/mimes/images/pdf.gif appears, 2.8 MB are shown.
You are using the standard KM "Folder - New - Upload" component? If yes, it's just a bug. If you use your own component, it's a bug too but then on your individual site.
    Here it is tested on EP6 SP2 P4 HF6 / CM6 SP2 P3 HF4.
    Hope it helps

  • Video output and image output for the iphone4

    Hey you guys.
I have a few newbie questions for you iphone gurus.
1st : is it true that even though the iphone 4 displays in 720 res, it will only output at 480 res?
Reason i ask is that when i watch streamed movies on my TV, through my iphone from Netflix, it looks slightly less sharp/clear then when i watch it on the iphone itself.
2nd : When i want to show people pictures i took with my iphone on my TV. I goto the pictures area in the iphone and load the picture. But it does not display on my TV unless i start the slide show. But if i just want to look at one picture, it does not display.
    Strange
    thanks you guys

    You're welcome.
    Copied from this link.
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.
And it looks like I was mistaken on the output supported when using the Apple Composite AV Cable for a connection to a TV.
Support for 1024 by 768 pixels with Dock Connector to VGA Adapter; 576p and 480p with Apple Component AV Cable; 576i and 480i with Apple Composite AV Cable (cables sold separately).
Looks like the iPhone supports up to 576p/i and 480p/i when using the composite cable connected to a TV.

  • Urgent issue with video size and quality.

Ok, I have Premiere Pro CS4 and I am running on Windows 7 64bit. I have a movie that I have been working on for 2 years that already has hundreds of proper LightScribe DVD's, slim cases and printed cover wraps already done and paid for. I was supposed to already be done with this and selling copies, but Premiere has royally messed things up for me and I am now in limbo with the project.
The film was recorded with simple non-HD 4:3 camcorders. Some of the footage is from years ago and was uploaded via USB low quality, but it still looks fine on YouTube, my computer, and even when I burned a DVD with the footage alone unedited. The rest was uploaded with via DV and is actually pretty good quality for being 4:3 and non-HD. I took all this footage and stretched it out with a little bit of cropping to make it widescreen on Premiere. Again, it looks great in the preview and looks fine when I exported it as a WMV.
However, when I burned it to DVD, it was horrible quality and also chopped off the sides of the film on my widescreen TV, even though I exported the film as widescreen AND burned it on the widescreen setting! Why would it do that if it was made, exported and burned as widescreen??? Also the sound was terrible! And I exported on the highest setting possible.
Second, I heard that AVI is a better format, so I tried that. The file was absolutely huge and when I opened the file with media player it wasn't the same perfect fit as the WMV. What I mean by that is, when I watched the WMV, media player showed the video as a perfect fittig window, no excess black space on the top or bottom. Same thing with several AVI mainstream movies that I have on my computer (actual movies, like Terminator Salvation, Pandorum, Black Hawk Down, etc). They all fit media player perfectly, no excess black on top or bottom. So why is it that actual movies in AVI format and my WMV video and movie files are perfect fit on media player, but when I export an AVI from Adobe Premier, it adds excess black on top and bottom? That doesn't make any sense, especially since you can look at a preview of what the exported file will look like and it doesn't look anything like what the ACTUAL export is. What kind of a joke is this?
So I pretty much need help figuring out why the exported movie is horrible quality, especially on DVD that is so bad I cannot dare to sell it to a customer, AND I need help figuring out why my Premiere Pro exported AVI's look nothing like mainstream film AVI's that I have on my computer. Someone please help, this is really hurting my business!

    hiya
well , you are certainly getting some really good help now...its like you fell into a room with the best editors and shooters and everything and you can get a lot of information and run with it...find out a lot of things.
Some of it requires you follow through on your own as much as possible ( like you have already ) by reading and googling things you dont know, etc...  this forum and these guys is how I learned a lot about this stuff in the past year or so...so listen to what they say....google what you dont understand....you cant go wrong.
    now...about what you said...
I exported the test clip as  an MPEG2-DVD and it gave me a video file with NO SOUND, a separate WAV  sound file, and two xmp files. This is not what I was looking for.
I have a movie project on  Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. I simply want to export/publish the movie, burn  it onto a DVD using Windows DVD maker and have it as top quality, like  it looks in the preview monitor on Premiere. Tell me how to do it.---
I dont use encore to burn a dvd, but use DVDit PRO.  It wants exactly what you got when you exported to mpeg 2 dvd ....a video file without sound muxed.. and a separate wav file....
I know it sounds weird but thats the way the program burns the DVD....and that has to do with making the VOB files etc for the DVD...which is just the way it is....you see the vob files AFTER you burn the DVD if you look in the DVD...
anyway, mpeg 2, mpeg 4, all that highly compressed stuff ( as you said ) is highly compressed to FIT onto the media ( DVD ) or whatever....but it plays good and it looks good...and has NOTHING to do with anything except squishing stuff down to fit the media and looking ( viewing ) GOOD.  the best movie you ever saw on DVD is mpeg 2 .....  turned into vob in the making of the DVD by the software that makes the DVD.
all these things are different animals ...what you edit , what you deliver, etc ....

  • Is it possible to adjust FPS,video size and quality per the bitrate while playing a live stream?

So far , I only found tutorials on control these attributes while publishing the stream,
how can I adjust it while playing ?

That article judges the band width and assigns a proper video(say these videos are prepared before hand) to play.
But I can't get multiple live video streams with different settings out of a single pc camera.
And I can't require each user to install multiple cameras to use the service.

  • Convert video file and image file

Is there a way convert video file to a lot of images?
Or convert a lot of images to video file? Thanks. Kevin.

Believe it or not, you actually can do this is Photoshop quite easily, using the Import -> Video Frames to Layers command. There also is a corresponding Export feature that allows you to Render to Video, which can be used to output an image sequence instead of a video file. I think these features were added in CS3, because that is when they added the Animation functionality, but I'm not certain...

  • Low File Size/Great Image Quality: H.264, AAC

    1. I created a slideshow in iPhoto, exported it to a QT movie file. The properties of it is as follows:
    Exibit A:
    Dimensions: 720x480
Format: MPEG-4 Video, AAC, Stereo, 44.100kHz
    FPS: 30
    Data Rate: 7277.87 kbits/sec
    Channel Count: 2
    Duration: 02'46
    Size: 143.58MB
    2. I pulled a QT Movie file from the web with the following properties:
    Exibit B:
    Dimensions: 480x360
Format: AAC, H.264, Stereo (LR), 48.000kHz
    FPS: 28.79
    Channel Count: 2
    Duration: 01'22
    Data Rate: 868.14 kbits/sec
    Size: 8.5MB
    3. I tried to see if I could compress my movie and keep the quality as comparible to Exibit B. Here's what I ended up with:
    Exibit C:
    Dimensions: 720x480
Format: AAC, H.264, Stereo (LR), 44.100kHz
    FPS: 30
    Data Rate: 4826.73 kbits/sec
    Channel Count: 2
    Duration: 02'46
    Size: 95.22MB
    4. I tried again. This time creating the same dimension as Exibit B. Here what I got:
    Exibit D:
    Dimensions: 480x360
Format: AAC, H.264, Stereo (LR), 44.100 kHz
    FPS: 30
    Data Rate: 2577.17 kbits/sec
    Channel Count: 2
    Duration: 02'46
    Size: 51MB
How can I create a very low size and image quality as Exibit B?
I have QTPro. Do I need something else?
    Thanks.

    Update:
Well playing all exibits on the Windows workstation worked just fine after the update. I now has QT7.
Next...I've exported Exibit A down to 8MB (Exitbit F)by recommendations from Capt. QTKirk. Here are the properties:
    Exibit F:
Format: AAC, Stereo (LR), 32.000kHz, H.264, 720x480, Millions
    FPS: 15
    Data Size: 8.5MB
    Data Rate: 429.79kbits/sec
    Overall Quality:
Video: Fair at 720x480; much better at 486x324; overall choppy transitions as well
    Audio: Fair -close to mono.
    Anyone else have any suggestions?
How and what are others using to get the audio/video quality as crisp and sharp as what's shown in the QT Movie Trailer site?

  • IBook Author of the video size

I would like to know what's best way to set up iBook Author of the video size and format file for all ipad devices including ipad air.
I already knew about this part:
       •    To create up to a 420p movie: Select “iPod touch & iPhone 3GS.”
       •    To create up to a 720p movie: Select “iPad, iPhone 4 & Apple TV.”
       •    The numbers refer to the number of vertical lines. For the best quality, select the 720p (iPad) option
I wonder if I can set up the aspect ratios like 4:3 frame (small video of box with story) in iBook Author for ipad air to be able to see this on full screen from iBook shelf.  I have ipad and ipad mini but I don't have ipad air.  I wonder if it will have good quality video like 4:3 ratio for ipad air screen with Retina display? Since Apple support didn't provide enough details how the overall video would look like on screen without stretching or using proper proportions.
    Thanks,
    Alfredo

If you create a 1024x768 video, you will be making the fullest possible use of screen real estate on a non-retina iPad (no letter boxing or pillars needed). Double that to 2048x1536 for retina.
Having said that, I should  point out that the dynamic duo of iOS and the iPad;s video firmware provide some of the best scaling routines I have seen. So 1024x768 video on a retina iPad will look just fine. With moving pictures, high resolution doesn't return as much benefit as it does with static images.
It would be interesting to see what the video optimizer in iBooks Author does with 2048x1536 video. To find out, we'll need to use iBooks Author to create project file that includes a 2048x1537 video and then export as *ibooks and deconstruct that *.ibooks file.
