CPC Review .. and it's not good.

I just received my copy of CPC today and to my delight the MSI 975X PUE was reviewed. I wish I didnt read it, it is a bad review. (The only good thing said was the layout of components)
Whilst the magazine author could not O/C the FSB past 310Mhz, there were also complaints of instability caused by memory dividers, AND instability caused by voltage higher than 1.4v, poor cooling on the VRMs and that crappy LED back panel for diagnostics.... maybe someone should tell CPC that they need the BIOS update! And someone should tell MSI to take a look.....

Unfortunately, what I've stated above is still topical: Flash streaming has always been a PITA.
In my (numerous, independent and reliable) tests (see the latest one at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4048509?tstart=0 ), I've found iSwifter and Puffin the two best players (I'm in Europe so your mileage may vary if you're in the US), followed by Photon.
The first ever Flash player to hit iOS, SkyFire, seems to have pretty low compatibility rate lately and I, therefore, don't recommend it at all.
This ONLY applies to Europe and the present day. It's not known when (and if) the servers of iSwifter and Puffin stop working in the future; the companies go bankrupt etc. That is, you can't have any warranty any of these apps will work tomorrow.

MMS will be available for the 3G and 3GS in two weeks - on Friday, September 25th - likely with a carrier update made available via iTunes.

The MMS will be received by you as an email with the photo as an attachment. This will give you the sender's cell phone MMS email address. Add this email address to the contact's info in your iPhone's address book. If you want to send an email with a photo attached as an MMS to this person, address the email to their cell phone MMS email address. The email with the photo attached will be received as an MMS.
This will be required for another two weeks.

Camera and display is not good

Hi im new here i buy my sony like a week ago and i think i have do a mistage beacuse why the sony say its the best smartphone and things just look the display its like TFT screen its budget and the camera okej sure its 20.7 megapixel but its not so good pictures iphone its better so lets do a update to the phone fix the camera and the display better :/ i hope its will be better if the 4.3 Jelly Bean comes out !

Try adjusting to different modes when you are using the camera, explore all the camera features available in the phone.
For me, Sony Xperia Z1 provides me with one of the best camera for mobile.
I like taking photo with Single Auto Focus mode and in manual mode for near objects, or object not more than 2m.
It really depends on how you take a photo. If not, just use Superior Auto.
Besides, the screen had a lot of improvements over the predecessor, xperia Z.

I don't have a question so much as a comment for APPLE. I am a new iPhone 5s user and it has many things I like but It is too small and I can only talk on the phone and use the internet if i am in a position to use a wifi connection and that is not good

I am a new iPhone 5s user. I like many of the features it offers. I don't like that I cannot talk and use the internet (if I am away from WI-FI) and this phone is too small. I am actually thinking of returning it and going back to an Android. After all the hassle it took to get all my stuff working on this phone , it may be worth the switch. This phone needs to be able to multitask freely in this day and age. Also Safari is not the best search engine but I could work with it if I could talk and use it at the same time. I use my phone for business and this is a feature that is needed in my line of work.

I understand that the OP failed to do research. But then, I wasn't replying to the OP. I was replying to Chris. I have Verizon. I can talk and use data at the same time with my Droid Maxx. Therefore, the problem is not just with the network. It would be technically possible for an iPhone to do that on Verizon/Sprint if Apple had chosen to use a different chip, such as the kind other phone manufacturers have elected to use.
Of course, this is probably all irrelevant to the OP's issue. It was merely a point of clarification, especially for those people who are used to being able to use both voice and data at the same time on Verizon. When they switch to an iPhone, they are often surprized at the limitation.

I have just downloaded ios 7 and now my ibooks is not me default PDF reader. It is not recognised at all when it comes to using a PDF file and this is not good as I have folders on ibooks which I wish to add to but now cannot

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

Just updated IMOVIE updates and things are not good!...help

I just upload and installled latest updates for IMOVIE and all my existing projects are corrupted. Wile clips in my event library will show up on the window pane in the upper right my projects will not .
What's a fix?

tried reinstalling ilife...still did not correct current projects. Some of The currents project will play in full screen mode but no projects will plane in the upper right window although clips from the library will play in that small window. In addition some projects when played on full screen are not the projects highlited. Boy this is a bit tough!

Ico [desktop] and logo [mobile] not good quality

I need your opinion and help everyone.
If you look at my client's site HOME on [desktop]. Look at the .ico. Looks blurry.
and view my site on [mobile]. If you look at the logo. Looks blurry too.
It doesn't look professional. I saved the logo as PNG and I also try to place it on site as PSD. But still.
If you have suggestion how to save or maintain good quality photos let me know!

Create your favicon at 32 pixels by 32 pixels in size saved as PNG.
Separately, avoid resizing your images slightly in Muse. For example the image on your home page is 814x251 but it's sized on the Home page to be 810x250. When Muse sees an images that's very nearly the exact size it's used on your webpage, Muse won't resample the image. Instead it will just pass it through unaltered. However, if the image is slightly smaller in the browser, the browser will have to resize the image and this type of slight resizing (whether done by Muse or the visitor's browser) will soften your images.
For the best quality on your final site, you either want to place/import fairly high resolution images and let Muse resample them down. (Resizing down from 2+ times final size will give better results than resizing down from an image that's only slightly larger.) Or resize your images outside of Muse (i.e. using Photoshop's Save for Web feature) and then don't alter the size of the images once they're placed in Muse.

Something's happened to iTunes...and it's not good!

Several weeks ago, my iTunes went wonky. On my iPhone 5, I would select a song to play, it would briefly come up and then the Music app would rapidly skip through quite a number of songs and would finally stop at one song and play it. But not the one I selected. If I went back to re-select that song, it would be greyed out and have a red circle surrounding a red square beside the song title. The song won't play. When I look at other songs, they appear the same way. I don't know how it is selected which songs to do this with, but I can't get them to play. They play fine if I am in iTunes on my computer but not on my phone. I have synced several times and have explored the help communities here on the Apple Support section but cannot find any solution to my problem. Has anyone figured it out?

I was going to answer that in my post but thought I'd wait to find out if it really did fix it...lol..
On my phone, I opened the Music app, on the bottom right there is a "...more" button, I clicked that and up popped a list showing Genres, Compilations, Composers, Share.
I clicked Share and a red circle appeared and loaded songs. That's when I thought it was all fixed, all my songs appeared and all played properly, including the ones that wouldn't play 30 minutes ago.
I turned my phone off and back on again to ensure this fix worked...sadly it did not. The "Share" option is now gone from that list where I clicked it, and lots of songs are back to being greyed out and showing the red circle. Every time I try to play music, there are different songs with the red circle. There are many greyed out with red circle songs now that were not like that earlier, they change every time I turn my phone off and on again. Very frustrating. Sorry it didn't work!

DVC Pro Tape and DV tape not good in Final Cut Pro 5?

I have a DVCPro tape along with a deck as well as a DV tape along with a deck for that.
I started final cut pro and used the NTSC easy setup. I first captured the DVC Pro, when it was done i tried to play it in the viewer and it would play for less then a second then stop. However when i brought it down to the timeline it played fine in the canvas.
So i when ahead a captured the DV tapes onto the same project. When it was completed i tried to play it back using my DV hardware to my TV but i would only see picture and no audio. ALl my settings were correct and the audio would only play on Mbox or the internal speaker in a G5. I thought i had a bad connection but the DVC Pro tape worked fine with audio. So i figured i go back to the DVC File i captured and when i pulled it up in the viewer everything is green and no picture what so ever.
Can anyone please help

A simple path is mac > firewire > camera or deck > rca cables > tv
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Then go View > External video > all frames
Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section

I Dont know what has changed It was ok before.I have tried changing from mono to stereo and different settings on my amp and mixer. Sounds fine when playing but when I listen back on garageband or Itunes It sounds as if i am playing in the red on the laptop? I have to have the volume all the way up on garageband else it doesnt seem to record anything. Have tried adjusting the volume in the sound section on the laptop. Have done all the updates and everything. Does any one have any ideas please!?

All the people in Saudi Arabia they had been waiting for BB10 since a long time, also me I have been waiting for it since TORCH-9800, and we had been so happy when blackberry company announced for BB10
BUT.....
The bad things we found in BBM and made a lot of people didn't buy BB10 and I am one of them, that in BBM when we need to send a broadcast to contacts, we have to select each one, we can't select all of them in one checkbox, and this is not good at all,, for me I won't get BB10 because my contacts in BBM over 200, and a lot of people they had the same thing as me.
So,,, to blackberry company please listen to your fans in Saudi Arabia and fix this problems with one small software update. PLEASE we looking for it AND YOUR SUPPORT.
A lot of people will buy BB10 just if blackberry fix this.

Personally I'm glad Broadcast BBM messages has been made more difficult to send... but, to each their own.

My iPad 3 is not charging on my macbook pro mid-2012. It was working yesterday and it is not working now, and I'm trying to transfer files between them. How do I charge my iPad with my macbook without having to be a completely new computer?

I am trying to transfer files between my ipad 3 and my macbook pro mid-2012 and they will just not connect. I connected them yesterday and it worked fine. And i can not air drop these files into my ipad it has to be done through itunes. And i can not afford to buy a new computer. How do i get these two to connect without having to buy a completely new computer?

Computer USB ports, regardless of the computer maker, have a relatively low power output and thus are not good chargers. They will charge but it takes a long time. You should be charging your iPad from wall power, or a more powerful source like an in-car charger.
Buying another computer will not change that.

System cache cleaning - when is it safe, and when is not?

System cache cleaning is one of those so-called "maintenance" tasks that you may read about on the forums on Mac OS X guides that has mixed reviews, and typically is not necessary. In fact, when it is done at the wrong time, data corruption can lead to a situation where an erase and reinstall is necessary. I can't reproduce it easily, but I will say I've had it happen to at least three of my clients, so it is not as random as one would hope.
You've probably heard of browser cache, and that's safe to clean anytime you like. One thing you'll notice about when you do, is that some websites will load slower, and others will load faster depending on your internet connection, and the frequency those websites get updated.
System cache on the other hand which you'll find in ByHost and Cache folders in your Hard drive -> Library, System -> Library, Users -> yourname -> Library are a much more sensitive type of file. These will optimize the speed of frequently done operations on the operating system itself as well as specific applications which require those folders. When one of these files get corrupted, programs won't launch, will unexpectedly quit, will launch and close on their own, and in some cases Disk Utility won't function normally, or System Preference panels won't launch. To avoid these problems:
1. Only do system cache cleaning after your data is completely backed up to your satisfaction, so that a system restore won't waste your time.
2. Do it when no other applications are running, and there are no memory resident programs that may be affected by such cleaning in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login or Startup Items. Check the Process or Activity Viewer applications for applications you might have installed.
3. Do not allow the process to be interrupted until it is finished. If any power outage happens, you may be left with a corrupted cache file.
If you have a corrupted cache problem, attempt to isolate if it is happening just to one account by creating another account with Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts with admin access and see if it impacts that account as well. Do the following depending on whether or not it does affect that account:
1. If isolated to one user, go back to the user and delete that user's Library folder's cache files relating to system and Launchservices, and log out and log back in the user twice. If it disappears as a problem once, and reappears, something you are running is persistentantly corrupting that user's cache folder, and you may have to move all the non-corrupt files to the new user.
2. If it is not isolated to the user go to the System and Library folders under the hard drive and see if the Launchservices files and System cache files are removed if the issue disappears on reboot, and if it does, does it reappear after a second reboot. If it reappears after a second reboot, then you have the scary prospect of an erase and install of your system.
Don't use automatic utilities to manage your system or user cache files. If anything only manually clean the cache when it is necessary and you have corrupted files. The cache is there to speed your system, and should otherwise not be touched.

I spend good money for my iPhone i have the iPhone 5 with the new charger slot which is smaller. I have been through at least 3 charging cords and this is not acceptable to me. i never had a problem with this on my older phone. apple needs to correct tho

Charging cords are covered by the iPhone warranty or their own warranty
if puchased separately. Take your iPhone and the cords to your local
Apple store for evaluation and possible replacement.
