Cpi-files - problem to open in Mac osx and FCP. Need help

I have camera Sony Hdr-sr1 and i have problem becouse mac osx don't see films from my camera, it is PCI files. FCP don't see it either.
Can i do something?

the SR1 shoots AVCHD in HD mode and MPEG2 in SD ... the AVCHD you can import (and transcode) via Log and Transfer with FCP 6.0.1 or later, the MPEG2 you need to transcode yourself prior to import (you can use the free MOEG Streamclip app to do this: choose Export to Quicktime and set the Compressor to DV/DVCPRO - NTSC)

Locked PDF files will not open with user name and password. Help?

I go to school online and our eBooks are in pdf format. I download them to my MacBook so that I can read them offline. When I download them, they open as they always did but, when I put my username and password in to unlock them, it tells me something about the file is edited and a copy will be saved but, it never opens the file. I have adobe reader on it, I am getting frustrated! I don't want to be logged into class every time I am studying material. Any ideas? Thanks in advance - this is my first Mac so, bare with me

Not using netwok magic. I shut it down when it comes up. I have tried using 192.168.1.1 but still will not accept user name and password. I never changed the factory default and it just continues to ask for the user name and password. Web utility site will not come up. I have a wired desktop as my main computer and that is the computer I have been trying to access the utility from.

FIXED my missing files problem....for those who still need help.

My son got an iPod so we made a separate user on my computer. He decided it would be easier to share my entire music file instead of individually pulling all of his music files out of my music folder.
He MOVED all of my music files to the 'shared music' folder instead of COPYING the files. SO my iTunes simply couldn't find the files. I copied all the files back into 'My Music' and now my library is back.
I thought I'd post this separately as it seems this is a common problem. A lot of us seem to have more than one iPod user per computer.
I'll just wait for the sound & artwork fixes, at least I don't feel like I need to uninstall iTunes 7 at the moment.

As i load in all these different files from outside I've been
loading them all into level 1 because that seems to be the only way
to get them to display at all with the code I'm using. I assume it
might be better to load them all into individual levels? I'm not

My Mac crashed and I need help... Seriously!

I have had this problem in the past and I am very lucky that I got it running. My Mac freezes which causes me to hold the power button to shut it down manually. When I go to restart it, it stays on the gray screen with the spinning wheel. I have held the Shift key to make it into safe mode and sometimes it works and I can have partial access to my computer. Other times when I do that it does nothing. As of right now, I managed to get it into some sort of mode and it is showing my background and the rainbow wheel [which is supposed to be my cursor]. I have gone into Single-user mode (Command-S) and Verbose Mode (Command-V). Each time I go into Single-User mode it always stops at ":/ root#" and I have no idea what to type in next. When I go into Verbose mode it says "disk0s2 media is not present." many times.
The first time it happened to me I had no idea what to do and did not think about searching on the Internet for answers. It then led me to drive about 1 and 1/2 hours to the nearest Apple store to get it fixed. Since Apple fixed it, I lost EVERYTHING and it was in the middle of the school year (perfect timing... not). The second time it happened I managed to get it working and I haven't had any problems until now.
I want someone to help me get it into safe mode or normal mode without me losing everything. If/when I get it working, the first thing I would do is back up everything to an external hard drive (I do not have one yet). Any help is highly appreciated!

First you are posting in the wrong forum, your profile indicates you have a MacBook, this is an iMac forum. Next you should NEVER NEVER NEVER shut down with the power button. If your system freezes attempt to force quit the offending application, you can force quit by using the Apple Menu or pressing Command + Option + Esc. Or you can always leave Activity Monitor running and when it freezes check AM to see if you have anything taking all your CPU, if so quit that action.
I suspect your HD has crashed, you should run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode. Make sure you run in Extended Mode! If it reports errors then you need to boot from the OS X disc that came with the computer or the latest retail OS X disc you have and run Disk Utilities - Repair Disk. If it finds errors run it over again until it reports no errors. After 4-5 runs of Repair Disk it still reports errors you need to replace the HD.
If you want to try to Boot to Safe Mode the instructions are in Safe Mode.

your MacBook Pro has booted into its Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities menu, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it get to the login screen now?

Cannot go to the Internet from Mac OSX, and Fedora Core 5

All Windows users (XP, 2000, Vista Beta) can connect to the Internet no problem on WRT54G with Firmware v4.20.6 (may 26, 2005). But odd enough, though getting the right DHCP assigned IP addresses and DNS server address, MacBook Pro (OS 10.4.1) and Fedora Core 5 cannot go to the internet at all using Safari and firefox browsers: the message keeps saying that your computer is not connected to the internet. Tested with BOTH wired and wireless connections, no luck to the internet. So, it's not about the wireless settings and setup. It doesn't work even if I directly connect the CAT5 cable to the router port.
Tested at wireless hotspots, at work where we have Cisco access points, and at a friend's place where there is netgear wireless router, MacBookPro is just working fine connected to the internet.
Any suggestions? Linksys doesn't support Mac and Linux PCs at all?

Seems like it is working fine now...
I reset the router as factory default, and reconfig the wireless setting(disable broadcasting SSID, configure TKIP PSK, and MAC filtering). Directly connected CAT5 cable from the router to my MacBookPro Windows XP. Working fine. Switched to Mac OSX, working fine. But, when I disconnected the LAN, and attempted to connect wireless, I couldn't go to the Internet using Safari and Firefox: keeps saying that your computer is not connected to the Internet.
Still could ping to 4.2.2.2 and 207.232.22.25, but getting errors "could not resolve the host name" when I pinged with the hostname bearshare.com.
Connected the wired CAT5. Working fine. Unplugged and used the wireless, could not get to the internet.
Checked the NICs settings on both LAN ethernet and wireless airport. All seems the same and correct: IP address, subnetmask and gateway address, and NO DNS entry. The same settings, but works on LAN cat5, and not works with wireless. So, for the sake of it, just manually added the DNS server IP addresses and domain names on wireless NIC. And Wala...it is working fine with wireless. Still strange the fact that Ethernet LAN NIC still doesn't have any DNS entries and working fine, but required DNS entries on wireless NIC.
For Fedora Core, could ping and resolve names without changing any settings. But when going to the Internet, got the error saying "comcast doesn't support this platform/OS" and another error "Welcome to Comcast High speed Internet....registration currently unavailable" when attempting to go any websites. Notieced that we pinging cnn.com, bearshare.com, or any websites, got ping reply from the same IP address which appears to be one of the comcast DNS server IP, 68.87.64.132.
So, I think it is a comcast issue not supporting Linux or something else which I would need to call to Comcast about...
But, thanks...looks like I can go to the Internet on Mac OSX, and Fedora core now with Linksys WRT54G. Thanks so much guys for all the suggestions....

If you use print to file then you get a file that is meant to be send to a printer and that file has all kind of formatting code for that specific printer.
Opening such a file in Firefox or a text editor can only work if you use a text only printer to print the file to, so make sure that such a printer is installed and selected.

Start by signing out and back in to see if it will see the subscription:

Are you holding down the "d" key, all by itself, just after the system shuts down for a restart?
And how long did you hold it down?
I held mine down for about 40-50 seconds. Then I lookat at my routers WAN light and it was flickering so I let up on the d key.
If that does not work then maybe there is something wrong with your MBP. Is that the reason you want to run this test, something isn't right with your unit?
