CProjects 4.0 : Qualification search

Hi all!
I have faced the problem of the resource search in the cProjects. There are several BPs with the appropriate roles and various qualifications from the qualification catalog. There is no WFD integration and the direct staffing process is used. But when l start the resource search there is no resources found. The latest package (SAPK-40009INCPRXRPM) is applied.
What should I do, please?

You absolutely right about the setting, but these settings turn on/off the search functionality itself and nothing more.
In my case my user (user1)has zero result of the search, but if I log in with another user (user2) - the search returns the result. In SU01 I have changed the the user role, authorization group, permissions etc in order to have the same setting for user1 and user2, but when user1 performs the search he gets just several resources while the user2 gets the full list.
Which additional settings influence on resource search? There is the latest CRPxXRPM support package implemented.

Hi,
There are quite a few ways we can search for project(s), task(s) etc. from the cProjects front end. We require to extend this. For e.g. the requirement is to have the search by a few more critera. By description, for e.g. Is this possible?

Can we have any more search criteria than the ones available ready made?

You can extend the search help with the enhancement in the IMG:
You can already search the text in the Project Name, this is standard. Searching the Description should be handled by TREX because of performance otherwise it would be too slow to use in a production environment.

CProjects 4.0 - Resource Search

Having specified the 'Qualification' and 'Minimum Availability', when I do a resource search, I get the list in line with the expected. On this page, few of the columns - Resource Name, Assignment, Suitability etc. have the expected (and right) values. However, such columns as 'Time Available', 'Capacity' and 'Availability' have values zero.
What ooght to be done to get the right values in these columns?

Thanks for the inputs. I did specify the location and availability for an employee in the transaction you specified - RPM_EMPDATA. Havng done this, I see the columns Skills, Location, and Availability checked (ticked right).
But I see no difference at the front end. When I do a resource search, and when this resource appears in the search list, I see values in the columns 'Resource Name', 'Assignment', 'Suitability' etc. but the 'Time Available', 'Capacity' and 'Availablity' columns still read zero.
Anything else that you'd suggest me doing???

Resource planning in cprojects with xRPM or MRS?

Dear Experts,
To my understanding there are four options to perform resource planning in combination with cprojects:
1.     Do a planning in cprojects only
2.     Use resource planning application (RPA) from SAP CRM
3.     Schedule resources with xRPM
4.     Schedule resources with SAP MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling)
I have a couple of questions:
(a) Is it correct that I cannot assign resources to project roles in xRPM based on qualification matching? Is it right that xRPM is used rather for a long-term view to define the available capacity of projects/roles than assigning specific resources to roles?
(b) How can help SAP MRS in comparison to option 1 (planning in cprojects)? I assume that I can do also in cprojects itself a qualification matching. MRS provides a more detailed qualification object to cover complex requirements, right? What else provides MRS what cannot be managed in cprojects itself?
(c ) If we want to use a staffing process were project lead and resource manager doing the staffing and have the option to suggest or reject roles, we have the option to use xRPM or MRS, right? What are the differences? In MRS we have options like using several resource managers, softbooking/hardbooking or itu2019s possible to define the workflow who proposes resources and who is doing the final staffing (project lead or staffing manager), reasons for rejections can be configured etc. Are these options in xRPM available as well?

Hi Angie,
I have not implemented MRS or RPA so can only answer your first question. You cannot do a resource search via qualification in Portfolio Management (aka xRPM), typically you would do this in Project Management (aka cProjects) and this functionality works fine provided you have maintained qualification data for BP's and roles. Portfolio Management financial planning function can be used for a long term view as you have mentioned. However, it is also typically used to summarize and/or roll up resource demand / assignment to a bucket or portfolio level or summarize resources for multiple projects via initiatives or collections. You can also use a top down approach and at a high level plan values at the bucket level (i.e. forecasted demand or business case demand) and compare against detailed planned / assigned demand rolled up from project management.

CProjects - HR Master resource in cProjects

Hi All,
The Business Partner (Employee) are the resources used in cProjects.
How do I use the HR Master resources instead? I am able to assign the qualifications to these reosurces but they do no appear in the cProjects front end resource search.

This question did not answer my question but definitely made me think in a direction that helped me resolve the issue to quite an extent. And you get six points!
I am now assignnig qualification for the resource under the 'Business Partner' element under PPPM. And this helps me fetch the resource in resource search based on Qualification.
However, once I staff a role, and then click on the Send email button, I get a message that the email was not sent. Where in the HR master do I specify the email address for the resource. I know where this is done for BP but because we are not using BP, I need to have this done in HR.
Any inputs that you can have for this would be great.

CProjects - Object Link to BOM

Hi,
I have a requirement to create an object link in cProjects. I have maintained the CS03 in the SPRO settings. While creating an object link from cProject and click on search button the system throws an error "Proxy Class(, method EXISTENCE_CHECK) for object type Bill of Material contains errors". Can some help in providing the procedure to create an Object link to BOM.

Create a custom class ZCL_DPR_OLR3_XXX implementing the interface IF_DPR_OBL_PROXY
create another custom class ZCL_R3_OLR3_XXX implementing the interface IF_OLR3_PROXY
Create Structure with namespace ZOLR3_TS_XXX_INT_ID where XXX is the table name for this structure.
This is the internal id that is going be used in the configuration. This Structure is suppose to hold the key fields of the
object table(not all key fields is mandatory).
Create Structure with namespace ZOLR3_TS_XXX_SHLP where XXX is the table name of the object.
This is the searh help structure that is to be used in the configuration. This searchhelp structure needs to have the fields
that are supposed to be diplayed at the time of seach.
Create structure with namespace ZOLR3_TS_XXX_DESC where XXX is the table name.
This structure is required for the BOM description. The field in this structure should be available in the table XXX.
Then in the SPRO create the object link and assign the class accordingly.

Talent Qualifications

Hello Experts,
My first question is regarding the way that the Talent Assessment uses the qualification proficiency scales. When you create a form for the Competency Assessment, for example, it prompts you to put in a scale for that form however, you can pull in qualifications from anywhere in your catalogue to use in your Competency Categories. My question is, does the scale that you input on the form override the scale of the qualifications you pull in if they are different?
Second question, does anyone know how to limit the display of the qualifications to just a specific qualification group from the Qualification Tab on the Talent Profile and the qualification catalog when selecting a "Development Step" from the qualifiication cataloge in the Talent IDP? Right now when you search on the qualification catalog you see the entire catalog and it doesn't include qualification groups so employees get confused which area/department these qualifications are coming from. I'm wondering if an enhancement is needed?

Hi Sarah,
Question 1:
The scale you input when you create the form is used for the answers of any questions that you add to the template, not for rating the Qualifications. The Qualifications use the scale that was assigned to them or their Qualification Group when they were created.
Question 2:
This is a bug (well, 2 actually) and there is a SAP Note to correct it: 1835032 - Qualification search in talent profile. Basically you should be able to search by Qualifications, but the system only allows you to browse through the Qualifications Catalog.
Also, for the Development Plan see SAP Notes 1860704 - ESS Talent Profile: qualifications show incorrect names and 1845259 - TMC: Competency scale in development plan document as they are useful.

Resource Qualification

Dear Experts,
Client has one requirement;
Whenerver we are creating Project Role with reference to Role Function, qualification search criteria should be automatic and with reference to Role function / type.
whether there is any assignment of role function with qualification search criteria.

The is no reference of Role type & Qualification in std system.
You may try this work around method.
i) The Project Roles along with qualifications can be saved in Project Templates. The user should be restricted while creating New roles in Operational Projects, such that one can only include roles from templates which will have predefined qualifications. You will have to disable the create role button.
Or Else
ii) You may also make use of Badi DPR_RES_SEARCH, where you can code your logic that a particular role type is searched with predefined qualification criteria.
User method ENHANCE_RESOURCE_SEARCH (Customer defined search for resources), make use of parameters IT_SKILL_SELECTION (for qualification) & IS_GENERAL_SELECTION (for role type).

WCM Error while saving Project

Hi,
I am getting following error while saving new created project in cProject.
Saving is not possible because the WFM Core data could not be adjusted
Message no. PRP086
Diagnosis
When checking the project role or project role staffing, differences to the related WFM Core data were found. The project cannot be saved because the data cannot be adjusted. Possible causes for this include:
The WFM Core is not installed locally. When working with the application, the WFM Core service is suddenly no longer available.
The WFM Core configuration has been changed in Customizing.
The WFM Core is only activated after projects have been created. During the automatic adjustment of data, it is determined that resources unknown in the WFM Core are assigned to existing project role staffing.
When working with the application, an existing resource already assigned in the WFM Core is deleted.
System Response
The project cannot be saved.
Procedure
Contact the system administrator if the required resource is not known in the WFM Core. The project can be saved as soon as the resource is created.

hi Atul,
Are you using WFD server for your resource planning in cProjects???
If yes, you have to do settings in customizing for the same in Workforce deployment server under Resource Management in cProjects.
If not, then do following settings to remove the error you are getting:
1) SPRO -> Collaboration Projects -> Resource management-> Business Partner-> Set Up Integration of HR,
Maintain following setting:
Group Sem. abbr Value abbr Description
HRALX HRAC X Activate HR Integration
2) SPRO -> Collaboration Projects -> Resource management Qualification Management-> Activate Qualification Search and Matchup Using WFM Core
In this, deactivate the use of WFD Core for the qualification match up and the search by deleting the X under Value abbr. in the activity Activate Qualification Match up and Search Using WFM Core.

Please go to following SPRO setting:
Collaboration Projects -> Resource management -> Qualification Management -> Activate Qualification Search and Matchup Using WFM Core
Delete the X under Value abbr. for Group WFM and Sem. abbr. QUINC. This will deactivate use of WFM.

Resource Search in cProjects 4.0 not fetching results

Hi All,
Working on cProjects 4.0, I have specified the qualifications catalog and selected a few items from the catalog for a role. These are the items I have set for the resource (Business Partner). However, when I do a 'Resource Search' at the front end, the system does not throw the list of resource I expect the system to do.

As mentioned, I have defined the qualification catalog and selected the qualifications for the role. The resouce (BP) does have the required qualifications. However, the 'Resource Search' fetches no results.
Do I have to have the resources defined in WFM to be able to fetch? I guess no...

CProjects 4.0 : Correct resource search and incorrect staffing

Hello to all SAP community!
I am using resource search by qualification in cProjects. The search itself is OK, but when I am trying to staff the project role from resources found, the role is staffed by N.N.1 resource, not that one that I have chosen.
Does anybody know what is the reason of such collision?

I have heard this behaviour recently, there should be a note for it. Would you please search the notes using the the key words. You can also post hotpackage stand of your system, I will then search it.

Unable to search by responsibility in cProjects 3.0 after BP re-set

Dear Forum,
We are using cProjects 3.0 and had trouble with a user showing up properly as a resource in a cproject template. I deleted the user, business partner and re-set him up again from scratch.
He is now unable to see any of his previously submitted projects when searching from the web client using his name in the responsibility area. Also the projects he saved as favorites do not show up.
Is there a way to correct this?

Project Search in cProjects 4.0 - Displays all projects

Hi Experts,
Project Search in cProjects fetches all projects - across all users and across all project types. This includes projects of project types the user is not authorized to. Well, the user cannot open any of these projects (unless he has authorization) but he can see all projects.
Is there a way to restrict this? We require users to get to see projects in his search list only if the user has authorization to the corresopdning Project Type. Is there a way?

But I understand that this search is also influenced by the settings that the user does at the front end. What I mean is, if he does not put any such filter, he can still view all projects.
Is there anyway we can restrict the users from viewing? What I mean is, can we put such filters (which the user puts at front end to search) at the back end by which the front end user just cannot see/view all projects?

Search in designation or sector or qualification.

I am new member of Nokia Support Discussions and this is my 1st post.
I have Nokia E61i and I have 2600 contacts saved in my it. About 10 to 15 days ago, I had saved very important number, but problem is that I had forgotten the name with which I have saved that number and is now in a trouble to locate that number. But I know the City, Qualification, Designation and Sector of that person as I like to save detailed information.
So is there is any solution for searching contact in qualification, designation or sector.

It is not possible to search with Designation, Qualification or City in Nokia.
But this is possible only if you install Zebrost Phonebook (ZPB) + Call Log Software from www.zebrost.com. Its free and users friendly Software. So must try it. It contains other important features also.
The software contains 23 Contact lists fields and it searches contact in every field.
